Looks like some ouiaboos are considering creating a LN publishing house in French.
They're doing a poll to find out what people want, so I guess now would be a good time to vote for that one LN that you were interested in but never got translated/got translated by an awful translator/got translated for half a volume and then dropped.

What's the matter /a/, can't read French?
>>
What's the point, really?
English-translated LNs sell badly enough as is.

Besides, why not learn Japanese and read the original, instead of a shitty translation?

Same thing can be said about anime
>>
>>101392831
There is a bigger audience in France and other french-speaking countries, so it's not that pointless.

France does have quite the anime/manga fanbase though, and allegedly these guys are just looking to sell 1000-2000 copies.

Because learning languages is hard.

>Because learning languages is hard.

It's not.
Saying that it is is just an excuse by the lazy.

Some people have talent, some don't.
You have talent for shitposting and i don't
>>
>>101392831
I thought that Haruhi and Spice and Wolf were selling really good.
>>
>>101393029
If you already speak English/Spanish or some other romantic language learning French is way easier than Japanese.
>>

Sorry but beside those on /a/ the other fanbases tend to have shit taste. I hardly doubt they'll read LN.
>>
>>101392831
France represents about 50% of the European market and is the second worldwide market, behind Japan.
>>
I spent 5 years of my life learning french.

I understand more nippon now than I ever have french.

Can't have shittier taste than Japan.
>>
>>101393293
Shit taste or not, if they vote in poll, or buy LNs it's all right
>>
>>101393293
Barring a couple exceptions LNs are the definition of shit, you retard.
>>
>>101393346
I spent 4 years in HS and now I don't remember anything.

I speak Italian, French, German, Chinese and English as well. French has the tendency to have weird grammar rule compared to the other. But yes, having a romantic language as base will help a lot.
>>
But I can't read French.

At least there's still Yen Press. It's unfortunate, though, that two of my favorite light novel series from them (Kieli and Book Girl) just ended, and they're being replaced with Sword Art Online and Accel World. I don't like MMORPGs, and I seriously doubt I'll like those novels.

(If you haven't read Book Girl and the Suicidal Mine, seriously, go read it now. That series is awesome._
>>
So, what should I vote for?
>>
If I vote Horizon will it increase the chance of French anons translating Horizon?
>>
>>101394869
>anons
But it surely can't hurt.
>>
>>101392075
FRAAAAAAAAAAANCE
How the hell is anime/manga such a big thing in France anyways? I swear, they're the biggest weeaboos ever.
>>
>>101394962
I heard that Non Non bioyri got shitty translation though.
