/a/

Okay /a/ I'm new too this board. I come too learn. I haven't watched much anime, mostly just well known ones. The ones I've enjoyed, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Afro Samurai and Miyazaki films. I've watched a bit of Attack on Titan, thought it was alright. I came here a bit ago and saw a couple of threads talking Kill la Kill... fucking hated it. I get the appeal though, just looking for more then an erection. Any recommendations?
>>
you are going to get shit for this and you totally deserve it
>>
>>101375308
Recommendation threads aren't allowed on /a/. Just lurk without posting and you'll discover what you need to. Google works too

Fuck off.

>>101375308
Type in /a/ recommendation thread on google. It's not hard.
>>
Watch evangelion, gankutsuou, and baccano. Congratulations, you finished the medium.
>>
Kill la Kill is decent for action, it's not just erections like moeshit people on /a/ watch. Check out FMA, might be up your valley. Also it's better to check myanimelist for recommendations.

I recommend you get a bigass pole and insert right into your anus. Come back when you've watched atleast 200 shows.

Lurk moar.

Fuck off, and don't come back.

All of you are fags of the highest caliber for helping him so much in ways he can do so himself.

The only thing you need to know how to do is reverse image search, and the rest will take care of itself.

Not OP but do you guys really remember how many anime series did you watch? Holy shit, I can't even remember if it's a two or three digit number.

Googling about "what would /a/ recommend me to watch if I have watched x, y, z but don't like a and b" isn't exactly handy and won't get good results.

>>101375983
No, I don't care if someone who didn't watch 10000 episodes of at least 300 series posts here. You think quality of posts increases with anime watched? Look at /a/.
>>
>>101376069

Go hang yourself, butt snorkeler. I hope you get fucking raped.
>>
>>101375862
What if people just posted what they liked in a show.

Whether they needed a dub or sub, what genres they like, other shows they enjoy, not just anime, hell books and game stories they like too.

Do they value a good OST? Do they like older drawn art?

Then we could provide specific recommendations, not just the same generic lists and reposted charts. Because that shit is just on google and the archive.
>>
>>101375926
Holy crap. You people are pretty serious when it comes to anime. I'm sorry for asking. I've looked up anime lists on google. I suppose I'm looking for some expert opinions based on what my taste is so far, and since I spend a lot (too much) time on 4chan already, this would be the place to ask. Thank you to the anon who recommended Evangelion. I've had friends recommend it so I'll give it a shot.

You literally have zero taste right now. You're watching entry stuff even my mom could enjoy (And I mean it, I showed my mom some Attack on Titan). The fact that you couldn't digest Kill la Kill actually proves my point.
>>
>>101376200
Well obviously then such person should go to MAL because it's hard to google and it's impossible to make a successful thread about it here. Better yet, if I were that person I'd covertly ask in a thread about such series. You're less likely to attract /a/ "helpful coolture" newfags that way.
>>
>>101376270

I don't know who fed you this lie, but 4chan is never the place to ask. 4chan is the place to lurk.

>>101376323
That's true, but what I'm proposing will cut the shitposting by this little spoonfeeding treat. You guys don't realize 90% of recs threads are not newfags you hate that much, but trolls. If they get a chart and empty thread after they're less likely to get attention gratification and thus, less likely to make those threads. But to me it seems you just want to get angry.

>>101376370
No, that's dumb. I don't count and don't own a MAL account.

>If they get a chart and empty thread after they're less likely to get attention gratification and thus, less likely to make those threads.
And then trolls will move on to another tactic, more newfags will join /a/ and /a/ will get worse.
>>
>>101376434
It boggles my mind how people can be elitist when it comes to something like anime. But anyways it seems I've created a shitstorm, so before it gets worse I'll leave. Peace /a/
>>
>>101376441
I guess you make a good point. I don't see why we don't have semi-regular My Anime List threads.

Stuff like which shows in their backlog they should clear out first, or future suggestions.

Good, don't suck any dick in the parking lot.

>>
>>101376779
>I don't see why we don't have semi-regular My Anime List threads
Since people need to figure out this shit for themselves, it's not that fucking complex and you know it. We shouldn't define your taste, that's something you build yourself, if you don't it's just worthless.
>>
>>101376720
Trolls use other tactics in addition already. Isn't getting rid of rec threads one of things most /a/ regulars would appreciate?

>>101376779
Only bad thing about this chart is how it is obviously going to get more and more outdated. But reviewing it anually would work.
>>

No. I honestly came here for advice but instead got attacked.

Getting rid of newfags is what they would appreciate. You're going after the symptoms not the cause.

>>101377180

But hey, look at us now. /a/ complains about the newfags, then continues to bump the thread and shit up the board more by arguing and going on to shitpost even more.

I for one, don't want to scare anyone away from anime. Most often, it comes as a curiosity of the genre. Most often, they are the only person in their circle of friends or acquaintances that explores the genre so they come to a place and find that the fanbase is mostly assholes. Yes, rec threads aren't allowed, but it would end much much sooner if people just said that a healthy amount of recommendations can be found on google by searching and that recommendations aren't allowed, or to go to /r/.
That is all. The worst part about these threads aren't the people who make them, but the people who continue to post, trying to get their two boku no pico cents in
>>
>>101377182

Anyone trying to recommend OP anything in this thread is doing it only to piss people off, the point if that if people continue to shitpost by doing so they'll be inviting newfags to shitpost along with them.
It's basically trolls inviting retards in, no sensible person would think that recommending shows to people will suddenly make the people less idiotic in their posting without them lurking.
And the worst thing is that no one can stop these trolls without having every rec thread systematically deleted.
