Just finished Angel Beats! for the first time. So is it safe to say that after both Otonashi and Kanade passed on after confessing their love for one another that they reunited in their reincarnated lives? If that's the case, then FUCK YES I finally found an anime where a girl voiced by Kana Hanazawa wins! I can die now! I am at peace no-
OP here. Ok in all seriousness, this series could've been a LOT better if it was more than 13 episodes (plus one OVA which didn't add much to the story but was still entertaining), but fuck me was the story heartwarming, the animation and visuals gorgeous, and the music awesome.
Overall I fucking loved this series. Picked it up since I needed to watch another series from PA Works while waiting for the next episode of Nagi no Asukara. After marathoning this and Ano Hana for the first time as well as following Nagi-Asu, PA Works is seriously becoming one of my all time favorite studios.
Shitty ending. I cried more when Yui got obliterated. Would've been better if it was longer, half the cast just fucked off at the end without reason. Otonashi and Kanade had no romantic feelings towards each other leading up to it and so the ending felt tacked on. Overall, it's alright. 10/10
>Overall, it's alright. 10/10
I laughed harder than I should have.
So when the fuck are we gonna get a spinoff with TK as the main character?
I really think everyone saying it should be longer is missing the point. One of the main themes of this series is you can't stay stuck in limbo forever, you have to make choices and move on even if that means you can't do everything you wanted to do. So the series not going in-depth with every character was actually well in line with its theme.
That's an interesting point.
Agreed. Best fucking character in the series.
No, they passed each other once on the street and never saw each other again.
You're thinking 5 Centimeters Per Second anon.
Holy fuck I never thought of it like that.
Wanted to know...is 'obliterate' really the proper translation for the word they use?
Maybe. I don't know a god damn thing about Japanese but I think obliterate is a terrible word choice.
>Implying TK wasn't really the main character of Angel Beats all along
VN most likely.
What are some other series where a HanaKana girl wins?
She dodged a bullet by missing out on the faggot
I thought AnoHana was the A-1 Pictures project for Noitamina...
You are wrong. The director himself said that the original story was written for 2 cour and he was forced to mangle it when only 13 episodes were greenlit.
The visual novel is going to be enormous, spanning 6 separate volumes.
The series could have been good short, but as is they were forced to squeeze in far too many arcs and the transitions between them were just ugly.
You can't go around saying "Oh this anime was awful, but in a way that actually made it better because its theme was about things being awful".
>The director himself said that the original story was written for 2 cour
Wrong, he never mentioned that in any interview.
>Wrong, he never mentioned that in any interview.
Do you have a source for that?
Do you have the source about the 2 cour bullshit?
>implying Kanade had feelings for Otonashi
All she said was "Thank you" over and over again. Not once did she say anything about reciprocating his feelings.
The burden of proof is on you since you claimed that I am wrong. Protip: This is folklore.
>implying Kanade didn't love Otonashi
Pic related, motherfucker
Even if it wasn't planned that way from the outset it still works.
>not playing kinect.gid
