boat versus rice
who will be the victor?
rice finished first, so
At least rice's rice arc is over and it actually gets a release date sometime this February :^)
Guts would win a fight, but Berserk is shit compared to Vagabond.
Berserker armor is cheating. He'd have to take that off for a fair duel.
Why would they even fight in the first place though
>a guy who fights monstrous abominations vs a guy who fights regular humans
This is totally not a retarded comparison.
Of the "non-magical" swordsmen, gutts is pretty high up there. There's no real argument to be had in this thread.
Doesn't Schierke make a comment that pretty much means he IS magical?
Are you retarded, nigga?
The armor is nothing but magical, and it's the only reason he can do shit after the point when he gets it.
All I remember is him underestimating him when he challenged him around the pillars. He basically got showed the fuck up and they mentioned gutts is a master swordsman.
Hell I know it's been brought up several times in the series about him being bonafide human or whatever.
People say that, but they can never tell me what volume.
Pretty sure it's based off some bullshit deepfag posted a year ago.
Gutts himself isn't using magic to our knowledge and was busy being a master swords man long before he got the armor. The armor just allowed them to write him through more bullshit situations, he was already a sword tornado.
Guts would shit all over everyone in Vagabond, armor or not.
Guts would murder Musashi.
This isn't even an equivalent fight.
Guts would kill him the moment he got within 8 feet.
Serpico could probably take Musashi, let alone Guts.
This reminds me that I haven't read Berserk in like 3 years. Are they off the boat yet?
I'm aware that it's permanent, literal plot armor, but the fact is Guts relies on it after he gets it and, iirc, cannot ever remove it.
Pre-armor, there may be a chance Musashi would win as we haven't gotten to him doing the whole two-swords nonsense. Hell, if you take the current Musashi and compare him to the timeline equivalent Gutts, he would probably be early golden age Gutts right now in terms of his development as a warrior.
And he would fuck Gutts up at that stage.
It would be a more compelling discussion much later on in Vagabond, after he develops his own technique and becomes the monster he's supposed to be.
But all of that aside, Vagabond > Berserk.
They're never gonna be off the fucking boat.
Musashi for philosophy/Technique/Discipline
Gutts for swinging atleast 150lbs of fine iron like it was a twig.
A fight between them would play out as musashi being technically more skilled, but gutts just brute forcing through combat and probably winning.
No, and dude is on a hiatus to make a different manga.
If Gutts ever gets off the boat, it will be the biggest shitstorm on /a/ to this date.
When is he going to give Cloud's sword back?
I think he's just gotten bored of Berserk, it will be hard for him to pick it up again
Even so, Just the force from gutts alone would topple Musashi. Musashi is peak human condition, Gutts has been superhuman since he was young (Feats of strength include climbing a tower of the fucking dead, taking hits from higher level demons, cleaving his fucking arm off, squaring off with zodd). He is physically stronger then Musashi, no doubt. Preamor. its a duel., After armor, Musashi couldnt hurt him.
She was talking about his other sword
>iirc, cannot ever remove it.
He can remove it anytime he likes.
>And he would fuck Guts up at that stage.
>Guts kills 100 men on his own, without the use of one of his hands
>Musashi kills 70 men from ambush with a surprise advantage
Guts would demolish Musashi at Golden Age levels.
He's stronger, faster, has a much greater reach and has much more overall combat experience.
Musashi can't even rice properly
150lbs, are you joking?
It's a 6 foot long, foot wide 3-4 inch thick slab of iron. It would weigh FAR more than that. Not sure exactly how much, but probably at least 3 times that much.
Pre armor guts is still fucking insane. I mean the strength scale and pure speed he can move at is rediculous. In a more normal universe he would be considered a magical beast if he isn't actually one already. I mean he doesn't just show that he can hold a big sword, he's also shown that he's rediculously fast and skilled with it as someone else mentioned squaring off with zodd.
I'm not going to argue which manga is better but seriously let's be "reasonable" here.
>musashi being technically more skilled
How do you figure?
Guts is one of the best swordsman alive in his time.
He also has MUCH more fighting experience than Musashi
It's 7 foot actually.
>16 years into manga
>musashi still doesn't have his own technique
Gutts was also raised to be a warrior and, like you said, has fucktons more experience.
If you take an equally experienced Musashi and pit him against an equally experienced Gutts, it would be a very close fight. They both have the same amount of potential.
Again, my point is that Musashi hasn't done shit in comparison to Gutts, so a straight comparison of how they are currently is pointless. You need to compare them at an equal level, which would put Musashi pretty early in Gutts' life in comparison.
Oh, and when I say early golden age, I mean when he first meets Griffith, but at that point I think Musashi would be better off, so actually he's on-par with Gutts sometime in the timeskip after that.
Guts isn't really a culinary genius either.
Raw Snake with a Cocaine Garnish
I wasn't being precise, just giving a general idea of the mass.
I'd be interested to know how much it would realistically weigh if someone knows how to calculate that based on its dimensions. Assuming it was made from iron fit for a sword.
The BLADE is about 6 feet long.
The entire sword (blade+handle) is about 6'8 long.
Remember, Guts is only about 6'3
It likely weighs as much if not more than Gutts.
Sounds like I gotta read Vagabond
A cubic meter of steel weighs about 8 tons, +-1 ton.
The sword is, let's 6 feet long * 1 feet wide * 3 inches thick, maybe a bit less. I'll round down. Let's assume light alloy, 7 tons/m^3.
Metric calculation ahead (1 inch is 2.54cm, but these are all ballpark figures) :
180 cm * 30cm * 7.5cm = 40500 cm^3
1 m^3 = 1000 000 cm^3 -> 40500 cm^3 = 0,0405 m^3
0,0405 m^3 * 7000kg/m^3=283.5 kg or 625 pounds
Let's take off about 125lbs to account to the edge.
>volumic mass of iron= 7g/cm^3
volume of sword 6ftx1ftx.25ft=1.5 ft^3
1 ft^3=28 316.85 cm^3
1.5 X 28 316.85=42 475.275
42 475.275 cm^3 X 7g/cm^3=297 326.925g= approx 298 kg= approx 670 lbs
So easily 3 times more than Gutts' weight.
Yeah, fuck physics.
>you now realize that Guts has magnet capable of holding something like 4 tons in his metal hand
Wow, my guesstimate was 600lbs. I was surprisingly close considering how utterly useless at math I am.
This demonstrates pretty accurately just how incomparable Guts and Musashi are. Guts can Swing around a 600~lb sword with enough force to gut through half a dozen torsos using one hand...
>tfw I fucking LOVE both Berserk and Vagabond
>these constant fucking delays
Doesn't mean he can actually lift it.
Just that he's tied to a massive slab of iron.
God dammit Miura.
Get us off the fucking boat.
Not with the armor on.
>283.5 kg or 625 pounds
That is close to the unshirted bench press record, which is 713 lb (323.41 kg). He lifts that shit on a regular basis and can even move fast with it. Think about it for a second.
So you're saying
Yes, Guts DOES lift.
>He lifts that shit on a regular basis
With one hand.
One guy is Talented and Skilled
The other is a Hax
you mean holding it on one end with one hand a lifting it?
He lifts 24/7
She wants the D(ragonslayer) so bad
If Guts was realistic, he'd be dead.
He can also do backflips while holding the sword with one hand
Yeah, there's no way he gets all that strength from just his muscles then. It must be his inner hellhound that lets him do that shit. Maybe Miura will get more in depth about that in the future.
>Yeah, there's no way he gets all that strength from just his muscles then
More like Miura doesn't give a fuck about actual physics.
But it was already revealed what give Guts his power Donovan's BBC
>his inner hell hound
Isn't that just his crazy personified. I mean after a life like his it's unlikely you'd be completely sane.
Guts vs Afro Samurai. Who wins?
His british broadcasting company?
I always got the impression that would be the form he'd take if he ever went apostle.
possibly, but I'd say it would be due to that being a representation of his unstable inner self. he's a bloodthirsty killer and his psyche matches.
But Brad is always sleeping...
