I used to think Zettai Ryouiki was the stockings themselves, not the area between the stockings and the skirt.
tis a common mistake
Tatami Galaxy was made by SHAFT.
2chan and 2ch aren't the same thing, apparently.
That it wasn't all shit.
I thought Misaka was the same girl in a hentai where a "sex zombie" virus takes over a school.
AKIRA couldn't have possibly been made by KyoAni.
I thought this anime was good
I used to think Sakuga was the surname of one really popular animator
I genuinely thought Katanagatari was related to the Bakemonogatari series.
I'm pretty sure this happens to most anons.
They're both by Nisioisin, so you aren't that far off.
Yeah, I know that now. I was seriously confused when I started watching Bakemonogatari after having already seen Katanagatari.
I remember you.
Then why do Japs refer to 4chan as 4ch? Maybe they don't know either?
Thought Deafish was a subgroup.
I thought Utsutsu was Saya
>2chan and 2ch aren't the same thing, apparently.
While I know 2chan and 2ch are two different things, I still don't know what the real difference is.
We're based off of 2ch, right? I don't know. It doesn't matter to me so much because I can't post there.
I didn't knew how to browse through 2ch until a few weeks ago, every time I watched an anime and people commented on 2ch reactions I was totally lost
I've been on this site for nearly 3 years
We`re based off 2chan. It`s right there on the bottom of the page.
One is japanese
And probably has a different community
I haven't see normal 4chan in months. I'm always using skins.
Both are japanese.
You'll notice the difference if you go there, even if you don't know japanese.
i still don't know what a Ghost is in Ghost in the Shell. is it AI, or someone's conciousness? they never explain.
Ni-channel is textboard and futaba is imageboard.
I thought anime was for children.
I still do.
I thought Loli-butt wasn't cute
It's for everyone so you're almost right!
I used to think that anime is for children.
Turns out it is for manchildren instead.
>thought rikka and mei were the same people
>when people posted pictures of rikka I thought it was mei in later episodes of another where she had skin that wasn't white
I actually though he was a girl until I watched the first episode
Hey, I remember you.
OP said stupid misconceptions, not perfectly understandable ones.
Thought he was a girl until the first episode. What kind of guy's named Chihaya, anyway?
I watched Evangelion thinking Kaworu would join Shinji and the rest and fight alongside them
Then I found out he only appears in one episode
I always thought women got pregnant after swallowing semen
This happened to me too.
A CG one.
Before I picked up JJBA, I thought that it was about time travel. I jumped to this conclusion after I'd heard several times that there were Nazis in it, and then I got confused as to why it was set in Victorian Britain.
I also thought that the series was set prior to Fist of the North Star or something.
captcha: kencoun formed
I thought KyoAni and Konami were the same company and didn't think twice about it until I saw the Konami logo when I was playing MGR
I thought that the pink girl was part of the original series until I watched it, I also put off watching Eva for like 4 years because I thought it was just another stupid "2D4U" show
remember yesterday- walking hand in hand?
I'm glad they don't
>I thought KyoAni and Konami were the same company
Love letters in the sands
They don't. There's functionally no way for sperm to go from the digestive track to the uterus intact.
My brain just shit it self and only registered the K, the O, and the I at the end, and I just went with it, I'm glad I noticed before I started a thread about why they never just made a MGS series
THROUGH THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS THROUGH EVERY ENDLESS DAY
I didn't caught up with the time loop stuff until the last episode, when Rika says that line in Mr. Delicious car. I actually though it was all some sort of separate stories or something.
I thought yuri as automatically associated to porn, and only porn.
I thought Hidamari Sketch and Madoka were related.
>not knowing about gagarin
the fuck is wrong with you?
I watched both FMA 2003 and Brotherhood before finding out that there is a manga.
I always thought being a tripfag was a good thing
>tfw the first man in space was a manlet
Anon, pls. "yuri", not "Yuri".
I thought Lain was gonna be good before I watched it
I didn't know FMA : Brotherhood was a remake
I thought the retarded fuck from chuu2 was the ghost from Another.
I watched Another expecting some pie AND THERE WAS NO PIE
Same with clannad, ano hana, code geass and keion. All utter shit, and entry-level on top of that.
Well they have the same artist, so that's not too bad
But there is pie.
I thought Cromartie High School and JJBA were done by the same guy, set in the same universe, but from a different perspective, the strange incidents being the result of stand battles.
Get some taste nerd.
I used to read tsundere as "soon-deer"
How's your first month to anime, attention whore?
>has a MAL and circlejerks on it
So pathetic it hurts.
>>101349470 >>101353665 >>101354669 >>101355596 >>101358725 >>101358838 >>101360952 >>101360969
>All these newfags who did not know
I always thought OP was a reference to OnePiece
I thought Waver Velvet and Lord El Melloi II were completely different people
I knew the phrase "as expected of x" but thought "Sasuga x" was a form of saying "Good job, x" in Japanese
And years and years ago I thought Sayonara was Spanish, along with some other word I can't remember
Anyone else thought that there wasn't anything beyond the sad panda and it was all an inside joke?
I thought anime could be 'deep'
Are you able to post a reply without looking like a complete retard? Jesus christ, leave.
>I thought Sayonara was Spanish
>someone who has probably seen <100 anime calling me new
>thought "Sasuga x" was a form of saying "Good job, x" in Japanese
It is when the situation X is involved is good.
I thought it was Italian
How new are you?
Why are you proud of being new?
I thought clitoris was a vaginal disease
having seen 300 titles and acting like you actually do is a more serious offense.
And trips are only for scanlators and such.
Oh I remember the other word now. I, for some reason, always thought Honcho was Spanish. It wasn't actually until recently I realized it was Japanese even though I should have known way before.
Back in 2006 when I first started going here, I thought "light novel" was another term for VNs
I remember asking a friend on IRC if you he knew where I could get the Kara no Kyoukai VN, and if it had a translation patch like Tsukihime, and him making fun of me.
new enough to be your mother~
And anyone who does work and needs to confirm shit, or personalities like Touno who need to maintain their credibility.
It's hard to hate on people like Hox when he makes so much good stuff, even if he trips in Semen Demon threads.
Futaba, 2chan, is the imageboard. 2ch, Nichannel, is the textboard. 4chan has a textboard too, but people only use it to discuss this one animator called "Sakuga"
When I was a kid I thought anime was just western cartoons. I didn't even know anime was called anime at the time.
I'm not sure if this is considered a misconception, but whatever.
While watching Clannad for the first time I was on wikipedia to check at which episode I left of at (by reading the episode summary). One time I accidentally went to the After Story section of the page, and just by skimming I saw "is a continuation of the first season" and "tomoya and kyou are dating".
Now of course this made me believe Kyou was going to win. By the end I had no idea what the fuck was going on and I thought that After Story was maybe some alternate universe where Kyou won. Needless to say when I started After Story and saw that Nagisa was still with Tomoya I was fucking pissed. Later looked at it again and saw that it was talking about the OVA for After Story. As a Kyoufag, I'm pretty sure learning the truth about that was more despair-inducing than anything else in the anime.
I used to think anime were cartoons
They technically are.
They are though
Get a load of this faggot.
The distinction is purely western.
Cartoons are Anime to them, but God forbid you call an Anime a cartoon to a weeb.
The only safe blanket term is Animation
>And years and years ago I thought Sayonara was Spanish
Honestly I thought this too. Even when I started watching anime I thought this. I mean they have so many loan words and use English all the time, I thought that "Sayonara" was just a casual goodbye like "Thanks" is sometimes used casually.
I wish this was true.
I used to think /a/ had good taste and was knowledgeable about anime&manga but just liked to pretend to be a bunch of idiots for fun.
I still do.
It's true 50/50.
I watched FMA Movie 1 without watching the series. I was reading the manga back then, I thought it was like One Piece movie where the story is unrelated to the main plot.
I don't understand anything from that movie.
Why can't it be both? 2deep4u.jpg
I thought dandere and kuudere were the same thing
I used to think zettai ryouki was a series.
I watched EVA thinking it would be about giant robots and end in some sort of apocalyptic monster battle to save the world.
I used to pronouce Cirno as seer-no.
I used to pronouce Code Geass as code geese.
I thought HS was a sub group
I thought JoJo was set in a post apocalyptic setting and every chapter we get a new character.
I thought Madoka aired in the early 2000s. When I say it at first, I thought "How come I didn't watch it when I was a kid?"
I still do because it sounds right to me.
I honestly thought it was all for adults with the obvious exceptions (the stuff that looked really childish and was for elementary school kids) and that everyone in Japan watched it and no one was looked down upon for watching it.
I was way off base.
I also thought it was superior to American animation as a whole, with the exception of Disney and few choice works like Gargoyles or X-men.
I just don't care about pronunciations anymore
I even say is-land instead of eye-land
>I thought HS was a sub group
Not even joking, I didn't know it wasn't
I though JoJo was a battle manga about a woman named Jojo who just happened to love fashion.
Well, Part 6. You aren't that off.
I pronounced Sanae as Sanee, like in Onee-chan.
I thought Yamakan could save anime.
I used to think Bear had bad taste
I thought Ranma's author was a man
Wait, if sayonara is Japanese, is bueno deas too?
I know Bueno is spanish, I don't have a clue what the fuck "deas" is though.
I thought Ash/Satoshi would actually get older with time
> ueno deas
You're writing it wrong in the first place (is buenos dias), and it means good day, as in a greeting.
I thought Inferno Cop was an anime ripoff of ROBOCOP.. When I actually watched it...
...you know what happened.
>using textboard to discuss animator Sakuga
I should've organize my reaction pics.
i thought JoJo and Hokuto no ken have the same author, they both have ORAORAORA punch anyway
That's understandable. Johnathan resembles Kenshiro in design.
Yes. When the Spanish explorers reached Japan they borrowed a lot of words from the locals like sayonara and bueno dias.
When Jojo first came out, most people who read it were only looking for more HnK.
I thought Rei was Chinese because Teh is a Chinese surname.
I thought Rie Kugimiya was the writer that wrote the light novels of Zero no Tsukaima, Shana, and Toradora, not the voice actor of the main heroines.
I still don't get how they are different, but from what I've heard
> dandere: lonely and quiet, secretly wants to socialize, is a sweetheart but just socially awkward (people cite Homura as an example)
> kuudere: emotionless at first, but is a sweetheart in the right circumstances (like Rei or Yin)
I still think they are deeply related, though.
Almost the same to me.
>I thought Rei was Chinese because Teh is a Chinese surname.
What do you mean Eureka Seven AO isn't a standalone series?
Dandere = danmari(silent) + dere
(Yuki Nagato, Rei, Yin)
Kuudere= cool + dere
(C.C., Saeko Busujima, Kaga)
Eh, pixiv dictionary and many other japanese sites put both Yin, Rei, Nagato, C.C and Hitagi as THE kuudere examples. I don't know why people confuse them as dandere.
I thought lolicons and pedophiles were 2 different things.
I thought my favorite anime was good
Cool and calm. You could find someone like this in real life easily.
Seems to have no emotions. You would have a hard time finding someone like this in real life.
Definitions would really overlap. You can find coolness in silence, if you get what I mean.
It would be a matter of identifying them closely enough to differentiate them. For example, I don't find Yin, Rei and Nagato as "cool", I find them adorable and at silent mode always.
Take a look at this list:
I once made the mistake of saying NHK was made by Shaft because of that QUALITY episode.
Shitty list. Whoever put it together has no idea what they're talking about.
They got Ange right, though.
