I just finished Toradora, and, all I have to say is:
WORST. FINALE. EVER.
I mean, it was a really adorable show, but what the fuck, man!? I am so mad right now.
What did you think of it, /a/?
>Not expecting this ending
You need to watch more anime, fag.
I don't see how anyone could dislike the ending.
eh I think the ending was excellent OP
How was it bad at all? It was so obvious that it was going to end that way.
Taiga was selfish, is all I'm saying
I ain't gonna watch this shit, but what happened in the end?
Red should have won if we had to choose.
But come on nigger what is wrong with harem ends? Can some cunt give me one god damn downside to harem ends other than 'hurp muh realism'?
I mean, sure, I fucking loved how she and Ryuuji got together finally, but it made me mad that she went and left right after they had confessed. Why couldn't she have stayed there with him!? They loved eachother
How, she leaves to make amends with her mother instead of running away from everything with Ryuuji.
Her and Ryuuji returned anyway. They could have gone back to school like normal, and she could have seen her mother regularly.
>fixing the family issues that hurt her relationship with ryuuji is selfish
Whatever you say anon.
Minorin had fucking self esteem problems bro, towards the end of the series her and taiga kept trying to push Ryuuji on each other. Once she realized taiga truly loved Ryuuji, she set aside her feelings for her best friends despite being in love with him. Pretty sad to be honest.
Because they're not selfish teens who only cares about themselves. If it were to continue, they'll be a burden to everyone supporting them. This includes their friends, Ryuuji's grandparents, etc.. And the reason Taiga left is to make amends with her parents. Abandoning your parents for the sake of love is a dick move you know. She's actually thinking ahead rather than being selfish.
Minorin a shit
Taiga has some deeply rooted abandonment issues that, along with the rift between her and her family, needed to be addressed with both sides taking steps towards reconciliation. Moving back with her mother and her new family is one such step, and was necessary. If you didn't realise why just going with Ryuuji is the incorrect decision, then you missed the point spectacularly.
One of the things ToraDora really harps against is projecting your own desires onto other people (Ryuuji wanting Taiga to make up with her father, and everyone else wanting everyone else to get together). Minori actually ends up suffering the most because she's the worst offender of this, spending literally the entire series projecting what she wants onto Taiga.
You realize she ran away from her mom initially, right. An hour long chat over some tea and biscuits won't amend that.
They had kissu, she write him a letter tell him to trust her and wait for her. That's all they need.
Basically Taiga has to settle things with her mother to prove that she has grown up, that she can be a better person, that she can make a right choice.
Otherwise when Ryuuji and Taiga get together her mother will be like "she is still young and stupid thank you for taking care of Taiga but im gonna take her away now because i can let my daughter have a relationship with a delinquent like you"
Yeah, the projection stuff was a huge issue through out the whole series. I understand why people didn't really like Minorin that much rewatching it for the second time. It's sad the way Minorin made things for herself but you reap what you sow.
Just to add to this, Taiga's mother isn't exactly a composed and calm woman to begin with (see: crazy voicemails), so it's going to take some serious effort to bridge that gap.
>tfw Golden Time isn't even close to being a college version of Toradora
What if Nagai directed the TADA BANRI? WOuld it be better?
You saw through the credits, right?
What was so bad about the ending? I hope you watched past the credits.
>not watching the greatest love story ever told
If it helps you feel better, in the LNs, they're only separated for 2 weeks. Taiga and her mom moves back a couple of blocks away from Ryuuji's place
Did you watch past the credits?
Taiga returns in the end.
Nah, you just have shit taste and a head too far up Taiga's ass. No one can sanely ignore all of Taiga's retarded flaws just because hurr she's cute and in the end she mellowed down and shit. How the shit can you forget all throughout the series she's been an insanely violent and spoiled little shit that always put herself first. And don't give me the bullshit that she actually thought of anyone else besides her. No. All she wanted was attention and to prove that she could care for someone else besides herself. And once she showed that she simply went back to being a spoiled shit.
>I'll give him up
>I'll give him up you hear me
>I'm an angel of a girl so I'll give him to my best friend which he liked from the start
>Did anyone miss me say I'd give him up? No? Perfect, now I'll run away and cry my eyes out knowing they won't be able to resist and follow me as I am a weak little girl in constant need of attention who can't even consider doing anything for herself
Honestly, you have got to be seriously blind to realize the main reason everyone was alright with Taiga winning was because she was completely dependent on him for everything.
Oh and as a side note, go finish the game. During the Taiga routes you have literally minimal resistance with Taiga herself just like in the series. She more than welcomes the guy picking her. While on Minori's route you'll have to go through serious arguments before she stops trying to help Taiga win. And even so, Taiga will end up with Kitamura instead. That little shit will just never accept a loss.
Minori has just as many flaws, really.
So mad that worst girl didn't win.
Oh I wasn't implying anything of the sort. The only reason she kept pushing the guy onto Taiga was to hang on to her ideas of friendship which she took to extreme. In many ways she was as dependent of Taiga as Taiga was on Ryuuji. What I'm pissed about is that all the Taigafags in every fucking thread simply ignore that little shit's awful personality just because she's cute, tiny and voiced by the Rie.
Minori is the king hypocrite though, she lies about her feeling more than anyone else, even Taiga.
Which is why the scene confronting Taiga and her saying to be honest with yourself is so ironic.
OP here. Yes I saw through the credits. It makes me happy that they saw eachother, but I was still a little annoyed that she left
you need to rewatch the whole discussion before they start the pretend wedding and kissu
>I'll just shout hypocrite because it feels like it makes sense
Mate what she was, was highly dependent on Taiga's friendship and that was the only way she knew how to keep it. She was too scared to accept both her and his feelings without thinking what that would do, or what she thought it would do to her friendship with Taiga.
I see you didn't watch the scene during the credits.
did you watch past the ED?
I didn't watch past the ED the first time either
go watch past the ED
Toradora is shit.
