I hereby put forth that 'guillotine gorilla' be the phrase used when an anime goes to complete and utter shit.
>I hereby put forth that 'guillotine gorilla' be the phrase used when an anime becomes a complete masterpiece.
It's more /a/ appropriate than to say that something 'jumped the shark' I guess.
Use it in a sentence
Samurai Flamenco was good until 'guillotine gorilla showed up and the writers were apparently beheaded and replaced with monkeys.
Preferably describing a different show
just say it got valvrave'd
Kill la Kill was <spoiler>good/shit<spoiler> until guillotine nui showed up
Or something gorilla. Jumped the shark works because it's a phase, whereas guillotine gorilla is just a name
Literally kill yourself.
I hereby put forth that op is shit.
>I hereby put forth that 'Guillotine Gorilla' be the phrase used when an anime becomes totally awesome and Anime Of The Year material
IRC please. All non-IRC posters know that Guillotine Gorilla was the best and most memorable thing to happen in all of 2013. Think about it. It'll be posted thousands of times for the next five years. Most of the shit that aired in 2013 (Red Data Girl? Zettai Bouei Leviathan?) is already being forgotten.
Meanwhile, our Lord and Savior Guillotine Gorilla has become a religion on /a/.
But we know him by many other names, like any just and righteous leader.
Can anyone recall some of his OTHER NAMES?
AFFORDABLE APERTURE APE (AKA GUILLOTINECARE)
i dunno, i like that it went from a realistic depiction of superhero-dom to a parody of sentai culture. yall hate change i think.
HIS NAME WAS GORILLABERT PAULSON
WAKE UP GORILLA: SIMIAN IDOL
GORINO GOSAKA (FROM GORIIMO)
It's called Wham Episode though.
I CAN'T BELIEVE MY GORILLA SISTER IS THIS GUILLOTINE
GORI YAGAMI, KING OF GORILLA FIGHTERS
No but I can see the phrase "Guillotine Gorilla moment" being used in the future to describe shows that suddenly go OFF THE RAILS
Although I can't even think of that many other shows that do that. It's too risky. Madoka, Tsuritama, and Penguindrum, I guess, all to varying extents, but they weren't as out of the blue as SamFlam.
Fun to imagine it happening to other shows though. Kill Me Baby Season 2 where after the first two episodes it becomes a deadly serious realistic drama about assassins.
All praise to the great hero of /a/
The savior anime needs but not the savior it deserves
SamFlam AOTY 2013
Have you all forgotten the true savior?
