Can somebody explain to me why there is so many people cross boarding to /a/ lately? Usually we would have 1 or 2 every so often but in the last week or so I have seen the catalog full of feelfags, rec threads, entry level anime threads and shitty attempts at trolling. All the OPs eventually admit they are from /v/ or another board. I have also noticed some cross boarders come here openly admitting their from another board just to call /a/ shit.
Whats going on? where are the mods? why wont they just fuck off.I don't wanna see /a/ succumb to the cancer like other boards have.
There's nothing particularly bad about crossboarding. They just have to be /a/ducated.
Kill La Kill probably. /v/ has been using KLK macros, reaction, and gifs a lot lately, and /v/ loves it's feels, so it's probably that.
I am not against cross boarding I am against the cross boarders we attract. They are like people who go to a different country and complain and think the native stupids because they don't speak English.
Too much infighting as of late. We haven't been able to provide a united front. We need to stop shitposting each others shows/genres. We need to stop the waifu dumps(it makes the board seem friendly to any crossborder whose home is inundated with dumpshit) and we need to tell people to fuck off without feeding past a redirect.
/v/ has their own anime community who hate /a/.
I agree. /a/ needs to become xenophobic in my opinion , we do quiet well compared to other boards but i have seen rec threads and other shitty threads being humored. The right thing to do would be to sage, report and filter.
I mean look at this thread >>>101290727
A simply fuck off was all that was needed.
Do you think that Rog and Tyrone shit has had anything to do with it?
Those vids are being posted everywhere, possibly bringing people here.
It's pretty simple OP, you ruined our board so I and people like me are ruining your board as retribution. Ever heard of Mutually Assured Destruction? Same thing, just slower. You fired first, we're here to finish the job.
hey, maybe we should petition moot to make /a/ an invisible board. and we could change the address. then we'd really be a secret club.
>We need to stop shitposting each others shows/genres.
> We need to stop the waifu dumps(it makes the board seem friendly to any crossborder whose home is inundated with dumpshit) and we need to tell people to fuck off without feeding past a redirect.
This thread is about people like you, who think they can just come here and have FUN.
>It's pretty simple OP, you ruined our board so I and people like me are ruining your board as retribution.
where the fuck are you from? /v/? /co/? /sp/?
KLK does seem popular on /v/ for some reason. I have noticed for some time that KLK threads are full of the worst kind of casuals, so I've been avoiding discussion in the major threads.
Sure is IRC in here
Shitposting each others crap it makes /a/ look inviting for shitposters from other boards.
Shitposting, studio wars, show wars, and things of that nature are like an STD /a/ got from /v/ and has never been able to get rid off. We don't need to be nice. But we need to stop going out of our way to fuck with each other for the sake of shitposting. We should be above that.
I'm not shit-talking KLK, I follow the show myself and enjoy it. I'm talking about the threads on /a/, which are irredeemable trash. Have you even bothered to wade into one recently? The people in those threads obviously are not from /a/, they couldn't possibly be.
/a/ is the outlier of 4chan. Most people on this website hate anime and anime reaction images, so they hate /a/. The moderators think /a/'s sense of elitism is outdated and want us to be more friendly to newcomers.
You can fight it all you want but in 5 years there's nothing you can do to stop it.
because /tv/ and /v/ is pretty ass pained that you will never get any replies on here unless you are actually baiting
the miyazaki thread
meta thread about /tv/
this anime only mature seinen faggots love
this lel funny image macro from 2007
Absolute wankiest bait I've ever seen
>avoiding KLK threads
>noting their vernacular, images and behaviour is highly similar to /v/
MUST BE IRC!
You fucking retard
So you are only using /a/ on 4chan?
>KLK does seem popular on /v/ for some reason. I have noticed for some time that KLK threads are full of the worst kind of casuals, so I've been avoiding discussion in the major threads.
>popular on /v/
>knowing what is popular on /v/
>using /v/ terminology
>>>/v/. you are part of the problem.
Does it really matter? You seem to be implying that knowing that will make a difference, like you'll personally go over there and clean it up and make everything better. It's not going to happen though, our board is beyond saving. The only thing left is for you to suffer in agony as you watch the hoards of the radiated soulless break through your futile barriers and destroy everything you love, and at the last moment you will scream out "when will it all end?"
When that happens, we will respond: "This is the end you brought upon yourselves."
The problem is the term cross boarder.
What does it even mean except "somebody who disagrees with me".
Claiming that everything wrong with the board is the fault of a single show and that all it's fans are /v/ermin is a typical IRC tactic
>not one of us
Except I didn't claim that. I just said that KLK threads are a den for /v/ermin, which is a fact. Care to name any other shows you think are drawing them in? Because I haven't noticed any except KLK this season. Watamote and SnK were past offenders.
You fuck off too, this whole muh sekrit club shit has made people stop telling others to lurk more and fuck off, I welcome newcommers to /a/ aslong as they lurk and don't shit post.
I browse /int/, /an/, /trv/ once in a blue moon and some go to other boards to simply have a look but I don't post anime images on those boards or expect the board to cater to me.
>Whats going on? where are the mods? why wont they just fuck off.I don't wanna see /a/ succumb to the cancer like other boards have.
You mean like it did in the recent years to become the shithole it is?
I'm a different anon
There are multiple things wrong for different reasons
But a highly popular show in which it's threads are full of obvious crossboarders who spill into other threads is certainly at least one of them
But I don't even want to be one of you guys.
You all have shit taste and insult my waifu.
Hey /v/ and or /tv/ seems you are lost.
>Making a metathread to complain about the state of /a/
Space Dandy right now.
>I welcome newcommers to /a/ aslong as they lurk and don't shit post
So does fucking everyone. Hell I was here for at least 2 years before starting to post regularly, but I'm still a babby who came in 2010. But I'm not a retard so I don't get called out on it.
I don't know what's popular on /v/, I only know what I've seen in KLK threads, and those people are from /v/ without a doubt. A few admit it, but there are several others who have the same post style. How else do you explain the fact that so many people discussing KLK cannot even spell the characters' names right? That's one of the reddest flags. It's not even a deliberate joke, they can't for the life of them spell any of the names right except Mako's. I've seen 4 or 5 variations on Ryuuko's name alone.
Then fuck off
I find plenty of good KlK discussion. /v/ liking the series hasn't been true since around episode 5 when they realised the show wasn't going to cater to them. The only threads that get really shitty are the ones that have some sort of obvious bait in the OP. You can tell those are started by shitposters.
WHERE ARE THE MODS
Then you get retards like >>101295848
in relation to >>101287998
Plus several other retards that don't know how to look at the catalog
And god damn, don't ever look in a fucking Space Dandy thread.
I'm enjoying the show but god fucking damn those are just supreme cancer
This kind of shit is making me venture outside of /pc/ less and less.
Explain the name thing. Maybe I missed a joke or something, but that level of idiocy shouldn't be tolerated. The times I've corrected people I get called a weeaboo. They take pride in fucking up the names. That sounds like /v/ to me. They treat any knowledge of Japanese as worthy of scorn.
The cancer is you, you leave.
>And god damn, don't ever look in a fucking Space Dandy thread.
>I'm enjoying the show but god fucking damn those are just supreme cancer
Blame Funi for simulcasting it on Toonami and bringing in all the /co/ and /tv/ casuals
Nice one retard
Can't wait till we start getting called weeaboo for watching sub and not dub.
Basically an immigrant who brings their shit culture with them and doesn't really care about the board. Like >>101296287 said.
/a/ is capable of retardation too unfortunately. It took a few weeks to settle on Ryuuko's name near the beginning and some people never learned.
If you think any of those are worthy of staying on /a/ you need to leave. Including the Mako ones.
I blame the weekends for school being over. Every Friday to Sunday is the same with minimal mod intervention.
It already happens in Dandy threads
Wow, can you sound any more like a defensive and angsty fag?
You can thank space dandy & kill la nothing for bringing in /co/ & /v/
Always blaming the /v/ bogey man.
That's just /co/ being retarded.
>It took a few weeks to settle on Ryuuko's name near the beginning
No it didn't. Her name was always Ryuuko. How fucking stupid are these people? Are they deaf?
I'm just here to shitpost. You faggots deserve every bit of it, too. The longer I lurk here the easier it is to find more subtle ways to bait you all, not that you don't bite at the obvious ones too.
You'll never stop me either. This is war.
Wow, making a shitty meta-thread that isn't even tertiarily related to anime will certainly fix the problem, right?
Report and ignore.
Mayhaps they are. Honestly I rarely see it nowadays and when I do its mostly in those shitpost fests I mentioned earlier.
Everyone out there is dead set on /a/'s destruction.
Don't share the same opinion as I do, especially about [popular thing]? Fucking crossboarder.
A show might be somewhat popular? Better shitpost regularly about how it's going to be shitposted, only to shitpost afterwards anyways because this basically creates a shitpost freecard.
The problem here aren't new people coming, it's the already existing people trying to create opportunities to shitpost further without any reprimands.
/co/ being retarded in /a/. Think about what would happen if they decided to stick around after Dandy ended.
I saw it just two days ago. In one thread I saw her called Ryoko, Ryuku, Ryuko, and Ryouko. There's no excuse for this.
hooked another one! that was too easy. go ahead, keep guessing at where I'm from, it will make you look SO much smarter.
>I'm such a badass online
Fresh one here.
I don't care where are you from, I'm just saying that your epik leejun mentality may be better welcome on /b/
They won't, they only stick to SD threads. Only a few who frequent /a/ stick around for seasonal anime. /co/ is way too casual to even watch subs. They may be back when another similar anime gets a dub.
Yes anon, every single of these threads is just some newfag getting lost. Probably an evil crossboarder, too.
You wouldn't ever consider that some people like the attention that comes with creating those kinds of threads, no?
Maybe if idiots just reported and hid blatant bait threads instead of giving them attention shitposters would stop.
Space Dandy and KLK are bringing cancer here.
Is that's all you can say?
First response is what every first response should be. Make them feel unwelcomed here. And sage so it doesn't get bumped.
I'm not "leejun" you faggot. I'm doing this all of my own volition and by myself, and not cause some shithead told me to. I hate you faggots so I'm shitting up your board, really quite simple. Get used to it.
It's still cancer and it needs to be excised
>I saw it just two days ago. In one thread I saw her called Ryoko, Ryuku, Ryuko, and Ryouko. There's no excuse for this.
yeah, when it's obviously Ryūko.
I'm not even going to fucking lie, I'm starting to believe that KLK has made /a/ into shit
Crossboarders have always been here, except they didn't post content cross board
It's that simple
Yeah, but that requires organisation. Not that it isn't possible
Shitting on KlK and Space Dandy doesn't help anything. It only brings more cancer in by making it look like /a/ is ideal for shitposters from across 4chan.
Wrong. If you really wanted to drive us away you would never ever reply at all in any way shape or form.
If you reply positively, we'll just samefag and insult that response in order to get a negative response out of you.
If your FIRST response is negative and "unwelcoming" that means we've already won.
It's going to end soon, just like SnK.
This is what I KNEW this would happen, the KLK shit brought tumblrs, /co/ and /v/ over here
KlK and Dandy are the overrated garbage that attracts normies.
And giving attention to the cancer really helps.
Just hide and report.
probably because nothing interesting is going on in politics and videogames are dead.
Yeah, I agree with you. Ideally, threads like those wouldn't even get replies, even not angry ones by people trying to make "them" unwelcome. Instead, they should be reported, ignored eventually either get deleted or just be forgotten.
Instead, they're a shitpost as much as you want since it's perfectly fine to do it here threads.
Won what, exactly? We don't feel anything when we redirect morons. We are passionless. You've only truly trolled us if we start to actually argue.
I don't think they come close to SnK though. I can kind of tolerate those threads.
Can somebody explain to /a/ lately? Usually we would have 1 or another board. I have also noticed some cross boarding to me why there is so many people cross boarding to /a/ lately? Usually we would have also noticed some cross boarders come here openly admitting their from /v/ or another board. I have seen the OPs eventually admit they are from another board just fuck off.I don't wanna see /a/ succumb to call /a/ shit. Whats going on? where are the OPs eventually admit they just fuck off.I don't wanna see /a/ succumb to the catalog full of feelfags, rec threads, entry level anime threads and shitty attempts at trolling. All the last week or so I have seen the catalog full of feelfags, rec threads, entry level anime threads and shitty attempts at trolling. All the catalog full of feelfags, rec threads, entry level anime threads and shitty attempts at trolling. All the last week or another board. I have seen the OPs eventually admit they are the cancer like other boards have. Can somebody explain to me why there is so I have 1 or 2 every so often but in the last week or so often but in the OPs eventually admit they just fuck off.I don't wanna see /a/ succumb to me why wont they just to call /a/ lately? Usually we would have seen the last week or so I have also noticed some cross boarding to call /a/ shit. Whats going on?
KLK didn't bring Tumblr, /co/ and /v/ here, it just brought more of Tumblr, /co/, and /v/ here like every popular show each season.
But It fucking did.
KLK and Space Dandy dropped a shit bomb towards this board and now we're going to become like /v/ and /co/ mixed together.
SnK brought them over, and they just stayed here like plague rats hiding on boats
Poor /v/ and /co/, no video games and cartoons have been good lately.
it's called irc shitposting and you should stop replying to trolls
wtf are you smoking, SNK didn't do shit, I agree with everyone else, KLK and Space Dandy are a problem for this board now
So wrong, it was SAO that brought them over.
It happens every fucking season, and towards the mid-end of a series' airing cycle everyone starts getting pissed off and we have gay ass meta threads
Then dubs spam and general stupidity in all bait/cancer threads goes out of control.
Then next huge show that airs, the cycle repeats
>THE IRC BOOGIEMAN
Please shut up. You're more annoying than them, if they're even around.
This brand of trolling has nothing to do with what you feel out of it, but what WE feel out of it. Responding = feeding the troll, and that just encourages us to make more threads. lrn2egotrip
They get attention, that's just what they want.
They brought shitposting here even before they were actually airing.
Did you miss all the "Oh my god, those shows are going to be popular, they'll bring everyone to our precious board and it will be shit!" circlejerks before they actually aired?
Shit, this is basically a self-fulfilling prophecy right there.
KLK doesn't have any crossboarders in their threads. Space Dandy does, but there is nothing to be done than to not discuss Space Dandy. SnK was much worse than both combined but even that has dropped off. This current batch of crossies is different. Its either Space Dandy or the fact that other boards are in shitpost burn out and have decided to come to /a/ to get kicks.
So what should we do, anon? Give those threads the "naturo treatment"? How should we handle this?
Those shows still brought shitposting here...
Dandy hasn't done jack shit compared to some of the other series mentioned here.
Why hate on immigr/a/nt anons asking what anime to watch? Isn't it better if the n/a/tives here to just steer immigr/a/nts steer them in the right direction and slowly convert immigr/a/nts to our n/a/tive ways?
Every show brings shitposting here.
>KLK doesn't have any crossboarders in their threads.
YES IT DID. /co/ aka tumblr lite came here and then tumblr but Space Dandy really caused a lot of fucking issues here
This is become so ridiculous now
Shut the fuck up
You have a mod that likes those shows. You do anything that badmouths his favorites and he will ban you so fast.
WHY DON'T MODS MAKE A STICKY ABOUT RECOMMENDATIONS AND START BANNING AFTER THAT
/r/'S HAD THIS SINCE FUCKING '08, THIS IS 6 YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY
>Shut the fuck up
He is right though
>I'm gonna be a retard on purpose
>I shitpost to keep /a/ clean from shitposts
As long as there are miserable losers on this board who need to validate their little angry opinions by attacking everything they can blame on some evil outside power instead of just reporting it nothing will change. Because they are part of the problem.
Because google motherfucking exists for this reason.
>GUYS RECOMMEND X
>people point them to google so they can find a recommendation chart for whatever season/year they want
>WOW, YOU GUYS AND YOUR ELITIST SECRET CLUB
>big fat /a/ wiki with recommendations as a first result
I actually worried about this board quality. Have you read any late night threads recently? How about those Madoka movie thread? They are nothing but Facebook-tier normalfags. Can you imagine what would happen if those posters get used to this site?
I mean, normalfag have always been here, but the thing now is that no one say anything.
Dozens of threads filled with:
>"why are you so mean?"
>"gosh, stop trying to fit in"
>"dude, you should get out more"
>"so I and my friend"
>"this is so sad :c"
>"did you see the new update on facebook? i'm so fucking hype!!!"
And so on. It's sickening
Wait, are there seriously people here that only use /a/?
I've been here since kaminomi, and then I found the trolling goldmine that is oreimo.
You know not everything is IRC. /a/ is a huge board, so surely there are plenty of people other than IRC doing the shitposting.
The problem with this place nowadays is that it's growing way to fast to self-moderate, in my opinion. Unless extreme measures are taken, this board is just going to keep changing.
Please don't try and make sense.
Could this be the end of /a/?
Those are fair game if used correctly.
Yes, I agree that they brought shitposting here.
However, a lot of it isn't caused by people who actually came over here just because of a show, but by people who enjoy the actual shitposting and the bit of attention it brings to them.
People will just use any excuse to shitpost needlessly. Even with not that popular stuff. Samumenco and all that rape shit comes to mind. Threads ended with nothing but endless IRC accusations, since it was a convenient scapegoat. Barely anyone cared either, since accusing someone of being new or foreign is deemed acceptable shitposting for some reason.
There wouldn't be too much of a problem if there was actually something against ALL shitposts, and not only select ones which are deemed acceptable for some reason.
Can we get some /q/ complaints about elitism here?
>nothing will change
The perpetual freefall isn't necessarily a bad thing.
The more you whine about it, the more I will try to mention it, even if it's just because I find your insecurities amusing.
Guys, I just watched the end of /a/.
What the fuck just happened?
but anon, I use >>>/out/ all the time
Yes I've seen it too, the board quality has become worse and I fear that /a/ will become the next /co/ or /v/
>implying the problem is crossboarders and not /a/'s retarded methods of dealing with them
>proceed to shitpost in an attempt to "scare" them off
>constantly replying to shitposting or recommendation threads
>constantly bringing up other boards so crossboarders jump in on the argument that shouldn't have started in the first place
moot should just split /a/ up into 2 or 3 boards. The real problem is just that there's too much traffic here, which encourages shitposting like nothing else.
No, but I don't bring /a/ shit to other boards.
Did he just cum?
shiposting primed and perpetuated in part by IRC and other proshitposter types while being practically ignored by moderation
The answers are already on google or right in front of them if they want to blend in rather than make a thread and draw attention to their own ignorance.
Pls. No. ;__;
Maybe this is for the best, everything doesn't last forever.
Maybe allowing /a/ die like this is a good thing
You know what happened to /v/ when it got split up 3 times?
>I don't bring /a/ shit to other boards.
Are you one of those idiots that thinks posting reaction images constitutes as crossboarding?
Are you retarded?
4chan boards aren't tribes or countries, people freely move between them and always have
Because that worked really well for /v/
>They treat any knowledge of Japanese as worthy of scorn.
It used to work atleast
Maybe newfags have thicker skin
When I started lurking and actually decided to post I made a tit out of myself and despite being anonymous took it personally
Lame I know, but the system worked
It makes a great joke.
>/a/ is dying
Please read the full thread. >>101296287
No, I stay on topic with designated boards and have designated images for those boards.
Guys, I don't want to die, I'm scared.
Maybe /v/ needs to be disbanded instead of just moving certain types of threads.
go make a Love Lab dump on /c/ or something
No, seriously, what's with the influx of normalfags recently? Everything was nice and normal a few months ago, but since about 6 months ago the board has gone straight to shit. Not even "Night time /a/" is safe now.
Are we getting raided? I don't want to believe that /a/ has fallen this low. The post in this thread and many others look like something out of fucking Facebook.
I'm actually convinced 95% of the post in this thread are being posted by some IRC chat trying to troll us. It's fucking impossible that there are so many normalfags actively posting in this board. It's insane.
You waltz in, completely disregard the established board culture, do whatever the fuck you want, call whomever you disagree with "kids," and you say you are not being selfish? Just kill yourself. The human race can do without people like you.
>these fucking crossboarders are fucking with our culture
>but it's perfectly okay for me to ignore other boards' cultures when i travel there and post shit they hate
people like you are the reason I came here to ruin everything you like.
As said before in this thread, crossboarding isn't an issue. You can browse multiple boards just as long as you leave the individual board culture on that board.
If we just stopped replying to obvious troll threads and if the fucking mods would ban some of these fucking rec threads, it would be a little better.
At least if they put a sticky, it would make the normies who come in with legitimate rec threads leave.
So they can move to /a/ and mark its end for good?
The worst thing about this is that someone below me is going to type out a response to this pasta with legitimate anger.
>WAAAH WHY ARE PEOPLE ALLOWED TO DISCUSS SPACE DANDY ON /a/? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
We have ascended and are leaving you behind.
Some day you won't even understand what we are talking about anymore.
>forgetting your sage in a meta thread
I guess now is the time to ask. If it gets to the point where /a/ becomes uninhabitable and overrun by normalfags, what other imageboards are there which could replace /a/?
Because they know they won't even get banned. It's kids who can't behave when mommy isn't looking. 0 character and harassing everyone is "just for fun."
No, I meant delete /v/ and split video games into smaller boards instead of one huge clusterfuck
And maybe some mods
>If we just stopped replying to obvious troll threads
But everybody needs to know how much of an oldfag /a/ residential I am and how much I hate all those evil /v/ermins and /co/wards!
But the problem is, what's reporting going to do if mods don't think a post is against the rules? The rules are basically enforced according to the majority rules. "Shitposting" is a rather vague term, so a lot of the times, threads that are seemingly normalfag in nature are deleted.
However, if those very normalfags were the majority, then the threads would most likely stay.
My point is, I don't know how much reporting would do if you flat out ignore all those "bad" posts, because sooner or later, those posters would think it's acceptable, and /a/ would get however much worse, depending on your perception.
Man, I've never seen a thread like this before, truly /a/ is now on the verge of collapse.
>tfw "crossboarding" used to be a nonexistant concept and "normalfag" used to be a joke term
>tfw /a/ used to be fun
>tfw now it's full of culturenazis that turn simple opinions in a gigantic meta crisis
None, we're fucked if /a/ dies
It doesn't matter since no matter how bad /a/ gets you're here forever. It's the curse of ev/a/.
They will still make rec threads.
>what should i watch next on the chart?
>i watched everything already, recommend more pls.
It doesn't end.
>You waltz in, completely disregard the established board culture, do whatever the fuck you want, call whomever you disagree with "kids," and you say you are not being selfish? Just kill yourself. The human race can do without people like you.
That's absolutely rich, because that describes the exact attitude we had against your board's faggots posting weebshit on our board. You guys couldn't keep it to yourselves, and were spilling onto other boards like you could do whatever the fuck you wanted with no repercussions.
That kind of hubris is why people like me exist. Enjoy your cancer.
Or better yet, how about the mods who don't actually watch anime or read manga and ban TLR threads because they think they are porn?
>implying splits are necessary
all it takes is a handful of competent mods, but no, let's pick a bunch of IRL normalfag buddies to monitor multiple boards at once without knowing anything about the majority of them
>I've never seen a thread like this before
I hope that's supposed to be sarcasm. We've been having these threads for years.
Is this a joke or are you really that new?
To discuss anime? None. Unless we learn moon and go to 2chan but thats not fair on the users who browse 2chan.
>years of images will go to waste
/a/ really is dying
Crossboarding has been a thing since forever
And you're the one posting a shitty forced meme that's become "acceptable"
The people posting anime on /v/ are faggot crossboarders you retard. /a/ posters don't want to go to /v/, and if they do the last thing they want to do is announce they're from /a/ since it always causes shit storms. Cross boarders and their lack of lurking kill all boards, not just /a/.
>mfw you keep doing that
Just dump a link to your fucking reaction image folder and leave already.
It will only happen when moot sells 4chan.org.
What's with this nonstop, everlasting sense of happening. I feel like I'm on /pol/.
I go out of my way to shit on any "What would an X videogame be like" there.
All in all /a/ has pretty shit taste for liking KLK and SnK and when confronted with this fact people will say "B-but that's not the REAL /a/ community"
>NO TRUE SCOTSMAN
again, your hubris is showing.
No anon, I've been here since 2005 and let me tell you, /a/ faces a crisis of which it has never seen before.
It's so bad that we even need to have a meta thread about it, I mean damn, if that isn't a sign of what horrors may be approaching I don't know what is.
Hopefully if they've watched everything on the chart they have learned the board culture by then.
I seriously don't understand why we don't have a sticky. Fucking /x/ has a gigantic sticky for christ's sake.
I hope you're being Ironic and even then you're still apart of the problem.
Look at this shit, he even bumped the thread.\
I meant that 'crossboarding' used to be a complete non-issue that no-one gave a shit about.
Now it's considered the worst thing since Hitler.
I blame /pol/. It's probably their fault somehow.
I deliberately use that argument to piss off faggots who I think don't belong.
>I seriously don't understand why we don't have a sticky
Because mods think shitposting is funny and so do some people on the board.
I'm more pissed someone actually replied at all.
Are you trying to encourage replies or something? Why bother linking that here?
Hold you're waifu thight for the end days are upon us.
Because they are a fucking eyesore that people will ignore because they think they're tastes are so different than anyone else and need to be personally catered to.
so report and ignore it.
it's probably just a shitposter pretending to be new anyway.
See this is the problem with fucking /v/. Hurr someone posted anime they must be from /a/. No a lot of boards have their own little anime communities that hate us.
So you love us? You're so fucking tsundere, if moot implemented a kanji captcha, you'd learn Japanese just to post with us. Face it, kid, you're now part of /a/ forever.
>Look at this thread I made!
I'm looking at it and checking the box.
So.. whats another good anime imageboard, in case /a/ dies?
N/a/ruto, hidden sage, can't delete threads, you can thank moot for this.
>It's so bad that we even need to have a meta thread about it,
There have always been meta threads.
Give rec threads the nurutu treatment.
The mods know they're against the rules anyways and this should create a better stigma.
it was just a tripfag posting Boku no Pico.
You wish I made it.
I'm worried that threads like this one will somehow indirectly encourage shitposters
Why does /v/ have such a fit over people using anime reaction images?
I see all types of reaction images on other boards and nobody cares.
They also seem to have forgotten that Japan also makes video games.
Don't be scared Toshinou Kyouko.
I would never let you die.
We seriously have the worst janitors and mods in the universe.
>implying that there is one rec infographic
There's a shitton of them. If we had a sticky and mods that actually banned fuckers for posting rec threads, it might solve a little of the shitposting.
Who are /a/ biggest allies/friends?
wizardchan might be good.
not specifically anime but it gets discussed a lot.
normalfags also get banned
This shit happens every fucking season a highly popular show airs
Everyone gets sick and tired of the bullshit and start having lame meta threads
It happens roughly every six months because of a show, and every summer
It's going to happen slightly more now because of Dandy airing whilst KLK still is
And everyone will flock to these threads to bitch and feel old and like a special snowflake
I do it, we all do
It's fucking common
Reminds me of immigration policy.
4chan is a microcosm of post-feminism America. Enjoy your immigrants.
It's too late, I'm already fucking her behind your back
you guys said you liked NTR
As I said, still pissed.
There are none. EVerything is shit. if /a/ dies, better go kill yourself.
80% of the time nobody gives a shit and the other starts a chain of Smug anime girls vs Penn
If you're not going to bother reading the thread or using correct grimmer, just fuck off.
How new are you anon?
I have never seen a thread on /a/ talking about the state of the board, and I've clearly been here longer than you.
Well it's a good thing there are no shitposters in this thread .
If moot really wanted to fix /a/ (which he doesn't), he could just straight-up delete /v/ and its offshoots.
I don't want to go there, it reeks of dried cum and self hate.
>I have never seen a thread on /a/ talking about the state of the board
They are there, all the fucking time.
Rec threads get banned all the fucking time. You can see it for yourself by checking the public ban page and looking at deleted posts in the archive.
I've been here since 2007 so I have the right to voice my opinion on this board's quality.
/a/ has become shit around late 2011 but 2012 and 2014 has made this board much more shitter.
It's sad that I remember all the golden memories from Death Note, Kaiji and Gurren Lagann and those memories hasn't improved into the future.
I thought KLK would bring back those GL days but it made it worse, it really has.
Maybe anime itself has its role with this, since there really hasn't been any decent shows for a while.
>/v/ is the problem
>we can fix it by making sure they spread out all over the site
I think retards like you are shitting up /a/ worse than any shitposter could
>I have never seen a thread on /a/ talking about the state of the board, and I've clearly been here longer than you.
And where would they go? They have to go somewhere else.
he's being sarcastic, genius
Are you high or stupid?
Because /v/ is full of normalfags.
What's the difference?
Back to their home planet.
Deleting /v/vg/vp/vr/whateverboard/ won't make crossboarders magically go away. If anything they'll just spend more time on /a/ since they'll have fewer boards to browse.
>I thought KLK would bring back those GL days but it made it worse, it really has.
Why would you believe this at all?
That's right kid, I'm cancer and I'm here to stay. Enjoy your futile fight to excise me, but the more you fight against me the worse I get. Pretty soon the board will be filled with more people like me than people like you. Don't say I didn't warn you.
>/a/ has become shit around late 2011
>I remember all the golden memories from Death Note, Kaiji and Gurren Lagann
Except nobody really gives a shit and defends the use of those images.
Do you also believe nobody talks about Japanese videogames there?
There are still good threads, it's just you have to wade through mountains of shit to get to them.
I honestly blame 4chan's popularity. The overall userbase has increased since I've been here.
You're not even him. Why are you pretending to be another anonymous poster?
>taking crossboarding seriously
>taking board wars seriously
>taking baits seriously
And this is how /a/ will start to deteriorate. You guys are no different from /v/ users who always gets baited easily by /co/ and /pol/
2edgy4me bro, I think you belong back with your friends on /b/.
These threads are basically guides on how to shitpost on /a/
Mods are sucking ass lately. And i really do think at least one of them is a /pol/tard that ignores the leak.
>taking baits seriously
I blame bait images.
It's the speed that's a problem. Usually one a day will end up completely serious because they last an hour or more without deletion or simply fade away without a public ban. If you just used the catalog you'd think there was no big problem with them.
Because it's the same shitposting and baiting. And if your target audience is larger, you'll more likely to upset someone with it.
If they do, get ready for pedophile/otaku/no life/degenerate insult to get thrown at you. Hell, someone even thought the 2hu games were anime and should go to /a/.
Why didn't you box all the waifu threads?
They're just as bad.
especially the metabait involved in posting one while pretending to sage a thread
>no lanced jack
I don't see the problem.
>on other boards
Clearly you stay out of the shit ones then
Best posts all day.
Man hating feminist detected, you probably just forgot to circle the Berserk thread
I questioned anons judgement as a temporary lack of intelligence or a permanent issue
There are plenty of good discussion threads on /a/. Whiny meta threads like these aren't making anything better, they're just increasing the shitposting and antagonism on this board.
moot can't afford to lose users and money.
I envy him.
>Do you also believe nobody talks about Japanese videogames there?
They do but you will be called a weeb for playing them.
You know what I've been noticing recently?
People trying to shit up PunPun threads.
Yes, I get that Inio Asano had a sex-change surgery. But do we really need someone bringing it up every single PunPun thread, especially doing something like this
>Man, this manga's quality sure took a drop in quality when Asano changed his sex.
>Wow now the tranny is just trying to push its views on everyone else that's why punpun is so terrible recently
>fucking trannies, isn't he doing another tranny manga?
I mean what the fuck? Fucking PunPun threads? Shitting them up with "lel tranny lel mental problems lel" just makes you look like a fucking /v/irgin.
If this continue are we going to have Yotsuba& threads being shitted up too? People posting that doujin in every thread, like people from /v/ just love to spam their own board with shit?
>here are plenty of good discussion threads on /a/
Oh this is going to be good.
It was a joke because if you get high then you're already stupid.
Yes but clearly everyone secretly wants /a/ to go to shit.
The problem is that you could filter tripfag shitposters, but the problem is now in Anonymous' court
check for samefag then, like I care
Imagine if you're right though, that means there's more than one guy here ITT who's doing the same thing. helps to drive home just how bad the situation is, doesn't it?
Jokes on you bro, I'm going to turn your board into /b/-tier even if I have to do it all by myself.
This is about as intelligent /v/ posts can get..
/vr/ is a good board, and /vg/ has some good threads. DD, Mon Hun and SMT are great.
Meanwhile /v/ is still shit
>People trying to shit up PunPun threads.
That's been happening since before the announcement. Roughly during 2012 - 2013, Punpun's popularity soared. Tumblr picked it up. It was dumped on /v/.
I was hardly paying attention, I don't care that much.
You're gonna carry that weight. Godspeed.
I've been in some nice threads
There will always be that one guy.
And I will always respond with "Why are you complaining about Japanese stuff on 4chan?"
Anon, go stretch.
>If we had a sticky and mods that actually banned fuckers for posting rec threads, it might solve a little of the shitposting.
What good would a sticky do? Why not just hand out more bans for posting rec threads and leave it at that?
I like how bans on /a/ are highly inconsistent in nature and frequency
The moderation is superb
This site has just been in a general freefall for years. Its all /b/'s fault. They brought a shitload of publicity to this site and now the quality of the boards are falling one by one. First it was /b/ and then it was /v/ and so on.
Its simply /a/'s turn to jump the shark now.
And he'll proceed to samefag until some other guy with nothing better to do decides to join in on the shitposting.
I was in that thread coincidentally.
After all these years I'm still fucking mad how /x/ has become the board that has never recovered from being shitted upon,
Delete /soc/, /r9k/ and other normalfag bullshit first.
If that happens it's a self contained argument that goes on for around 15 posts while actual discussion goes on.It still has a small chance to be derailed
By making more disguised rec threads and such? Good idea.
I honestly feel bad for it. Sure, a lot of the stories were really stupid, but it's not even the paranormal/creepypasta board anymore.
While on top of that
>blogging should be a bannable
>selfies should be permabannable
>a/s/l shit should be bannable
>meet ups should be bannable
Suggestions would be nice.
/x/ was always just "that place with conspiracy nuts" to me. What changed?
He really does hate us doesn't he.
Surprisingly, /b/ is the only board that's gotten better since the edgy kids fucked off to /pol/ and the dweebs are now /v/rigins. They don't get any new users either since this isn't the '00s anymore and they aren't notorious for raiding sites etc
Free reign to shitpost
Don't give them attention with responses.
>a get post on /lit/
How bored would one have to be to go about doing that?
basically anything that [s4s] does should be bannable. Mods already ban you for *tips fedora* posts and this should be extended to other crap.
Only we have the power to save ourselves.
>I agree. /a/ needs to become more xenophobic in my opinion
we're already the most unfriendly board according to everyone else
How long is "always"?
It's /lit/ dude. All they do is argue about infinite jest and the great gatsby.
you don't understand do you
/b/ used to be the containment board and moot kept it around so the retards browsing it wouldn't flood the rest of the boards. Well guess what, /v/ is that board now, it's literally the most active board on 4chan
>filled wtih tripfags and circlejerking
>how do i summon tulpa
>old creepypasta, no more OC
>le aliums shitposting
Yes these are the threads that you will always see now on /x/.
/tg/ are the biggest bros, they even translate some manga for us.
I thought that was /jp/
amusingly, though, we're still not the most hated
That only means everyone else has shit standards.
They hate us because we don't conform to their tastes.
Too fuckin bad. If a king makes rules and the subjects don't like it, they revolt. The king can send his army to kill off some of the revolters, but if the passion against such rules are strong enough, the revolt will eventually topple the kingdom.
Anime discussions or reaction images aren't welcomed on my board, so I'm here to ruin yours. I'm just one of the first of many people sick of your shit though, and you will be raided until moot changes his policy to make /a/ a containment board like he did with /mlp/. If that means that I have to burn this board to the ground in order to make it happen, so be it.
Jeez, like 2007 I think I became aware of it?
Well /jp/ is just weaponized /a/
The irony in that is that it's often a game of pretend.
You seem bored. Go make a dubs thread on /lit/.
It's really funny how delusional some /v/irgins are. Sometimes they have metathreads like this and are all like
>N-no mang, /v/ is way better than /a/,/jp/ and /sp/
I mean, come the fuck on /v/. It's been ages since people started calling it /b/2.0, and the board's quality only went down with time.
Did /a/'s quality got worse? Of course, but it didn't drop as hard as /v/
This nigga, you can't do it by yourself, baka.
how could I be bored with all these people responding to me? This thread is the most fun I've had in over a week.
People are always posting anime shit on /v/.
It goes both ways, faggots. Don't act like your shit doesn't stink.
We can do better gentlemen. We have the technology.
Who are you talking to
Who are you quoting
Where do you think you are
Sure, they don't belong in boards that aren't anime-related.
Nigga, you have to be seriously autistic to get upset over reaction images.
no, /jp/ is only really hated by /a/
I guess they realize we have a reason for it
maybe, but I don't like the idea of shitholes like /r9k/, /soc/ and /v/ will have threads just to say how much we suck
well most anons on the other boards have REALLY shit taste, I mean fucking disgusting mang
Bad analogy, edgemeister
Stop being so persistent with this shitty bait.
Even if this was legitimate it's still called 4chan. It's still american futaba
The shitty metaphor you're using indicates the whingers need to find another site. Instead of fucking up the city/state/country they reside in
I only really hear that from shitposters and basically this >>101300549 with a feminist bent.
Loli threads are filled with /b/tards.
You know the point of baiting is to get other people worked up, not to get yourself worked up.
Stop shitposting anon. You are the reason this site is shit.
well either my efforts were enough to make this emergency meta thread worth happening, or there's other like-minded people doing the same thing.
either way it seems to be working, and we're not even organized. it's just a matter of time.
That's a little depressing. Consider a hobby. I can link you to some sites if you want.
>If a king makes rules and the subjects don't like it, they revolt. The king can send his army to kill off some of the revolters, but if the passion against such rules are strong enough, the revolt will eventually topple the kingdom.
He's not metaphorically the king, he's the owner and you are on his property. Don't like the owner and his land? Feck off and never return. You have no rights other than what the owner bestows.
>no, /jp/ is only really hated by /a/
I'd reverse that
How do you intend to implement a revolution against a private entity? There's nothing to take over and there are other image boards out there. Either way, even if you did get moderators to ban reaction images for a month, they'll start to slack off again and eventually, you'll find them back.
That has happened many times throughout 4chan's history. Lack of consistent moderation can be considered good and bad for many reasons.
/tg/ is the biggest spoonfeeder around though.
I would know.
Cool, another fucking meta thread.
You're not really helping OP.
Also, it doesn't matter what board an individual comes from (save for maybe /b/). What matters is the quality of their posts. I browse /v/, /int/, /sp/, /g/, and /a/ in equal amounts. Doesn't mean shit, as much as you and alot of other people on /a/ wish it did.
>lets talk about the best anime to ever exist ever for the thousandth time
I can't get mad at /tg/ when they spoonfeed for some reason
go back to the wan piss thread that spawned you, and let us circlejerk in peace
this anon has literally spent an hour posting dozens of replies in this thread attempting to bait fruitlessly
The majority of the community makes sure to embrace social taboos such as loli, incest, rape, polygamy and so on.
I personally believe this needs to become more vocal in order to create a somewhat more morally intimidating atmosphere and thus create a small defense against the more weak hearted who create this problem.
Fucking hell /a/
This is when you look in the mirror and realize that you are the problem
well it really goes both ways, since the split was mostly because weeabo shit was getting in the way of animu.
There are just some spots during the day/week where there are no moderators or janitors online moderating /a/. Sometimes threads get deleted very quickly, sometimes they take hours. For instance, for the past few hours, there has been no moderation.
What /a/ needs to do is stop feeding these troll threads and meta threads and offtopic threads for all those hours and hundreds of posts. That's what self-moderation means, that's what you have to practice. The fact that you're here bitching in this pointless non-anime thread just proves it. None of you have any self control.
If you see a recommendation thread, you will stay there for hours yelling at trolls and idiots, repeating the same things over and over again, keeping the thread on the front page (even a single accidental non-sage will keep the thread going for another hour), keeping a huge inane conversation going forever, dozens of times a day. If you see a reposted spam thread, you will stay there for hours and for hundreds of posts. If you see a fucking politics thread, you will debate there for hours, and make new threads too just to shitpost again. Some of you will even believe the studio fanboy war threads and shitpost based on that. And you won't even report anything.
Stop being terrible posters. Stop supporting and posting dozens of times in terrible threads. Just stop.
It's not a problem for boards like /tg/ or /m/ to spoonfeed because they are a fairly small niche. I mean, anime in general is a niche, but it's hardly obscure especially not on the internet.
This place isn't going to change unless we respond to shitposters
It's a meta thread.
Besides, he's getting more riled up than anyone. Just look at the length of his posts.
That's how much we HATE HATE HATE anime you faggot.
Stop pretending like your board's culture is the only one that matters. Our board's culture says NO FUCKING WEEBSHIT so this is what happens when you don't listen.
Not this kind bro, you're referring to advanced baiting. This is basic-tier shit, all I gotta do is keep you responding. The more you respond, the more this thread gets bumped, the more that /a/ sees "oh hey that meta thread is STILL fucking going", the more they think they might actually have a problem, the easier it makes for me to shitpost in the future. the fact that I'm able to be upfront and blunt about it proves how basic it is.
you can't read can you. I know I'm shitposting. I know I'm the reason this place is shit. THAT'S THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT.
God damn, you got me good. This, my friends, is an example of good trolling. I concede, time to watch some anime.
that's because they get a noob once every 3 days
/a/ gets a retard looking for anime recommendations every 30 minutes
I don't get it
Daily reminder that these are all IRC posts. They have now started adopting a new tactic for scapegoating the ones responsible for most of the shitposting on other boards, pretending to be people from there.
It's very easy to notice them if you pay attention. They just blatantly posted the same exact shit twice in a very short amount of time right now. Dumbasses.
You guys really want to fix /a/? Stop responding to retards. Stop shitposting in rec threads, just ignore, report, and sage. There's some shitty and obvious baiter in this thread, and some of you are actually stupid enough to respond to him. Unbelievable.
Mods are out on weekdays and nights. That's why you see rec threads on weekdays and nights. It's fucking hell every day plus anons responding without sage and taking it seriously.
I blame the old board culture where people would sage shit threads which still contributed to the thread, sage or not
I would say that easily accessible hobbies need a hostile community to drive off the mouth breathers since anyone can sit down and watch anime.
Whereas less accessible hobbies with barriers to entry like tabletop games need a welcoming community.
TL:DR keep the retards out of the garden and welcoming the climbers to the top of the mountain.
Shut up, weeb.
Kids and immature people like anime and video games. Its all the same shit and no amount of bitching is going to solve anything.
Report and ignore.
one piece is a shitposting magnet? i thought you guys actually liked those threads.
cool, good to know, I'll make sure to shit up those threads too then, thanks for the advice.
pretty much every one of my posts keeps getting replies, bitch. I'm raking it in.
I agree with this.
However the kind of change you bring about by doing so is not the kind you want, it's the kind I want.
>japan also makes games
I don't know anon, you will just have to deal with it.
Doesn't matter, the sage function still works even if it's hidden. Most people don't use it though unfortunately.
People who say KlKfags and Dandyfags didn't ruin the board are fucking crossboarding scum in denial. It's so fucking obvious by their posting mannerisms.
Look at their threads. There are constantly about 6 threads up in the catalog for one show none of which are ever close to bump limit. Shit like "feels" is accepted in said threads. They constantly make threads that are barely anime related with KlK images to pretend like it is (lol what wud happen if you walked in on satsuki listening to death girps?, what is klk wuz a vidya gaem?)
Look at threads of other shows of the season that have constant threads. Sakura Trick,Samurai Flamenco, Log Horizon. Say what you want about each show but hey all keep to one thread because they aren't cross boarding scum from /v/ who think the board is as fast as /v/ or assume the entire board wants to talk about the same topic in multiple threads.
I wish bait images would just die. They've done nothing good.
If you are right or not, the mere act of pointing it out makes the problem worse.
I sage every thread.
I'm saging right now!
>Sakura Trick,Samurai Flamenco, Log Horizon.
They keep to one thread because barely anyone watches those shit shows.
The problem there is that sage vanished overnight but the mentality of responding to any shitposter stayed. So now more shit threads are getting bumped and giving people the attention that keeps them coming back.
We need visible sage back, really bad.
Dude, stop shitposting.
No one is fucking enraged at your shit. It is just bored anons replying to stupid bullshit.
>multiple threads mean you're from another board
So you weren't even here in 2008 when Code Geass was airing, were you?
I just don't get why /a/ in particular got so defensive over the feels meme. Everyone else finds it humorous if not just useful.
You're trying way too hard, IRC. Just stop already. Nobody is buying it.
I think everyone who wants to help should stop posting in this thread immediately, and I'll assume everyone else is just the same few people trying to drive the board into the ground.
But thats wrong you retard. The fact is the people knowingly shitposting are simply bored kids specifically looking for responses. If we all ignore the shit threads and simply not post even to just call them a fag their threads will fall out of sight.
Sure they might make a few more threads if they're persistant but if we simply ignore those too they'll eventually get bored and fuck off.
I think it's a silly and dumb way to write personally.
Trash images are worse in my opinion.
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE SAGING
You're still feeding a fucking TROLL. You're still replying to him. You're still paying attention to him. Same goes for bait images or reaction image replies to trolls.
Just fucking stop doing it. Stop it. Stop being fucking braindead idiots.
OOOH SHIET two more
Just had a quick look at the /v/ catalog
Check this shit out
That reminds me, how's /jp/ doing without visible sage?
visible or invisible, it does nothing
it doesn't matter
it never mattered
If you can't express emotion without using "feels", you need to be shot.
Everything becomes obnoxious over time. The feels meme especially because it's a form of blogging that /a/ abhors.
Most other boards are slightly more receptive to blogging
It's not much different than >mfw, and /a/ accepted that.
I used it for a bit, then everyone used it to replace any form of emotion. It's autism incarnate.
/a/ went from ''What is it like to hold a girl in your arms?'' to misogyny threads to ignoring the issue of not having a girlfriend outright.
And IRC calling.
Code Geass isn't the same. It had an actually large fanbase. KlK has a small but obnoxious fanbase making 5 threads at once.
Holy shit, its almost like it was completely contrived! Wow.
Like I fucking said, it doesn't matter if you get enraged or not, that's not the point. My objective is to keep this thread going, and the most effective way to do that is to shitpost so obviously that you faggots can't resist the urge to reply to me. For every guy that sages when he does reply, there's another 3 that don't. That keeps the thread moving.
Oh good you've started to get confused about who is trolling who, that makes my job easier.
They get maxed out threads on a regular basis. That is not "barely anyone". Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono threads are "barely anyone".
Why? Why are you still responding? You don't need to say "Hey you're a troll", he already fucking knows that.
It is an incredibly lazy and inarticulate way to describe how you feel or even what you feel.
It's like a person who can only communicate shit exclusively through swearing. It is a lazy substitute for so much crap.
You could say that /a/ shitposters are posting on /v/
Or you could say that /a/ and /v/ shitposters are one and the same, which makes MODERATORS the only solution
it's /r9k/ shit
> Everyone else finds it humorous
What? Even people on /v/ hate it. Hell, some people hate the word "comfy" now because it's so overused.
How are you getting these metrics?
>KlK has a small but obnoxious fanbase
Are you sure? It's been hyped since forever, so I doubt the fanbase is very small.
Just looks like a typical case of a huge fanbase drawing people who aren't exactly familiar with current /a/ catalog use
/a/ blogs all the time (and no it's not good). I don't know what you're getting at.
That's dumb too.
Wasn't drawing comparison between the two, was just saying the same faggot has started two more threads on /a/, and how awful /v/ is
If you honestly think KlK is anywhere near as big as Code Geass you're absolutely fucking retarded.
>/a/ went from ''What is it like to hold a girl in your arms?''
holy shit those days...
It's not just /a/, posting quality has been going down across the entirety of 4chan. This site has simply started becoming popular with normals.
This guy gets it.
Even if you sage, anyone that replies to me encourages me to post more stupid shit.
You guys just can't help but shooting yourselves in the foot.
Now that we're over 400 though, I've helped tip the thread past the point of no return. I don't need to feed the machine anymore, because this thread will keep on truckin til bump limit.
I'm having fun in kill la kill threads while you guys throw shit around at each other.
How does that make you feel?
>Being completely against blogging
Now this is the shit I hate. It's one thing if some guy is bringing up his girlfriend obnoxiously, but people end up losing their shit over people posting basic greentext stories from their life, when they are relevant to the thread subject.
Green text stories are one of the best sources humor on 4chan, and now people are all of sudden shitting on them here because HURRRRR BLOGSHIT
Console war shitposting in /v/ is far worse than some anime threads.
There's enough shitposting that more intimidation isn't going to make much difference. This board would be much better if the amateur trolls would realize only a small minority is even fazed by their special fetish trolling. No one is getting scared out of this shithole.
Why don't you check my digits instead?
>implying it isn't fun to vent
As much as I hate posting in meta threads, just report and hide Rec and troll threads.
It is VERY difficult for one person to not bump the thread with "Fuck off.". Fight the urge to post you cowards. Trolls have a short attention span. Don't feed em.
>bags of sand
>Home mad real doll
>Jello consistency tests
It's always the weekends when school is out, EVERY time. Even mods take a short vacation every weekend. Fucking moot needs to hire professional or at least knowledgeable mods.
>but people end up losing their shit over people posting basic greentext stories from their life, when they are relevant to the thread subject.
Blogging about your life is not anime or manga. It is literally to be impossible to be on-topic.
>Green text stories are one of the best sources humor on 4chan
>people are all of sudden shitting on them here
Please fucking kill yourself.
Feels like the threads are better than the show.
>We need air to be colored so we can breathe better
The lack of repeating integers is highly disappointing
I have fun making the rest of the fanbase look bad.
How does that make you feel?
I've never seen a board hate it like /a/.
And it makes sense the next closest one is /v/ since /a/ and /v/ probably share the biggest crossboarder userbase.
Maybe for you, but lately this place has become so overrun with "amateur trolls" that it makes me not want to even come here anymore. I suppose that's a blessing in disguise though, because it lets me catch up more on my ever-growing backlog.
Makes me feel pretty based.
Mods are hope. But the mods are missing, therefore hope is not here.
If you'd read this thread, you would have seen that it's no use. Anything wrong with posting in a meta thread is nothing compared to all the faggots responding to the troll
Mentioning feels used to warrant a redirect to /v/.
Well, I don't follow KLK nor its threads. But keep in mind that /a/ is an order of magnitude bigger now than it was a few years ago, so even a small fraction of posters translates to a lot of people.
Or just a NEET oldfag
5 seconds on the archive and you already found your culprit.
>now people are all of sudden shitting on them
>all of a sudden
This isn't new. This isn't a recent thing.
Nah, mods are here. They just deleted a couple threads. One is just in here right now reading the thread out of amusement probably.
W-well you too! Here, take this!
I feel helpless when I report an obvious troll thread and it never gets deleted
And then you retards fill it up with hundreds of posts
Why must you do this to me
>>>/v/229730187 also on the front page right now
A-at least some were deleted.
>Blogging about your life is not anime or manga. It is literally to be impossible to be on-topic.
But the thing is nobody cares on any other board because they are entertaining. And yes, /a/ did use to be like that too. Only now /a/ has hissy fits over it because newfags trying to fit in have taken the elitism thing to new levels (and it's ruining the board).
>these "people" browse /a/
Unfortunately those delightful doubles of devilish desire have once again not show their dubious presence
All IRC falseflags. Fuck off. IRC is the one responsible for most of the shitposting here. /v/ plays a minor part.
>nobody cares on any other board because they are entertaining
>implying /v/ doesn't get assblasted over "board culture" that they made themselves sick of for constantly posting it
Please, I've been seen those late night meta threads before I ditched that place.
>where did it all go wrong
>why is there so much cancer in our board
>I just want vidya
>why are there so many normalfags, redditors, furfags, et cetera
>why are the mods doing nothing
>this place was better before 2008
>at least /insertboardincluding/a// isn't this bad because x
>he you guys remember back when-
You know, after reading through this whole thread I don't think that troll was from /v/. They fucking love anime over there, they just have absolute shitty taste in it. I don't crossboard much though, can anyone enlighten me on which high-traffic boards hate anime the most?
>All IRC falseflags
What? What does that even mean?
>IRC is the one responsible for most of the shitposting here. /v/ plays a minor part
We have proof of shitposting on both sides. Why do you propose IRC plays the bigger role?
>taken the elitism thing to new levels
Hardly. No one points of spelling or grammar mistakes any more.
There's an unspoken truth that /a/ actually likes these threads because it's the only place they can feel beter about themselves and look down on someone on realtime.
>Green text stories
That's just a lazy way to write and convey your ideas. It's fine to make an offhand comment about yourself if it's along the lines of "x from y show reminded me of when I used to do z." However, making threads likes "go hug your sister and blog about it here" are stupid and should be deleted much quicker.
>False flag (or black flag) describes covert military or paramilitary operations designed to deceive in such a way that the operations appear as though they are being carried out by other entities
it honestly baffles me how both boards discuss KLk and yet simultaneously declare that the other board has shit taste.
/v/ and /co/ to an extent. They only like casualized anime.
And great, someone posts an emoticon and people keep recommending shit. How glorious.
The "/a/ here" part gives it off.
If someone mentions KlK on /v/ it just becomes a baitfest over the word edgy.
Every fucking rec thread.
Anon, the /a/ thread was a bait thread. He even uses the same image if you check foolz.
Fucking this. Report a thread and leave it only to see it's still there 2 hours later with over 300 replies.
>>/v/ tells you a game is good
>>it's actually shit
I want people who post that and the opposite to die of spinal cancer.
>But the thing is nobody cares on any other board because they are entertaining.
Then you can go on other boards instead.
This is also something we should crack down on again. People don't even bother with basic capitalization.
It doesn't really matter who it is. Shitposters seem to love using anime to troll, pic related.
Judging by the image ID's, not many of them seem to be posted on /a/, though.
And also the repeated usage of the same images and post content over and over again.
Only one of them may be legitimate.
Holy shit, you fucktard. I used to love SnK in the first couple of episodes. I went into denial about its massive /v/ermin fuck population. Face the facts that KLK has a terrible fanbase, unless you are the problem.
the original point of the image was I was wondering who the fuck makes these shitty
>x tells you y is shit threads
and it ended up going back to /v/. The contents of the threads were just an extra.
You brainless NEETs are so easy to manipulate.
I'm not the one doing it, but its funny seeing it happen in real time.
those could just be shitposters, I'm going to need a better source
Maybe if we had some goddamn mods. I report and hide probably 10 threads a day and I still see their little stubs rising to the top constantly. Idiots are always going to shitpost in shitty threads. Even if they don't, wannabe invaders will post in the threads themselves to bait out more people to post. The only thing that can really help is for moot to get over his "too cool for those /a/-faggots" phase and let us actually have some moderation.
I don't get how that would be a problem though, since the only kinds of anime that get posted on those boards are the kind that they can deal with: formulaic, cliche-ridden, and uncreative. I mean look at space dandy and KLK, they love those even if it's an invitation to shitpost. I've never heard of any board that hates ALL anime though, not even /jp/.
Kill la Kill is a gateway anime of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive badly animated boobs and DARKNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable man babbys who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the, peculiar, colorful gokus, the whole edgy faggotry and everything about the Kill la Kill world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on revenge, and overall shityness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average young adult and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes man babby retards eat this shit right the fuck up.
Kill la Kill is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime video game fanbase known to /v/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Kill la Kill threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.
It is pretty boring to see.
No where near enough mods or at least ones that actually understand what goes on here. So many threads worse than this I've simply left the tab open on to see last an hour or more. So slow that everything that isn't buried is basically normalized.
Are you new?
Then you don't lurk /v/ or /co/ too often to see the bigger picture. They really fucking hate SoL and "moe".
This isn't even remotely good. Go add feminism and other shit to it.
When you come down to it, it's the mods we should blame. Shitposters and crossboarders will always be there.
But what if 5 minutes after they start their threads, it gets deleted? Wouldn't they just get bored eventually?
>it's the mods we should blame
If no one replied, wouldn't they get bored eventually?
Mods are nolmalfag friends of moot, they are only there to delete CP and fap to porn. You only get moderation on mornings and afternoons.
No. It'd keep responding to itself until a "discussion" is created. Rarely does it ever work.
Fuck new /a/. We can't even have loli threads anymore.
a sort of tsundere like all the guys who go out of their way to cry 3dpd as much as possible or people who shitpost all the "normalfag" anime because they can't accept themselves
I suspect that mods participate in shit threads that they like. I wouldn't be surprised if hes made several posts here. Thats why it hasn't been deleted.
But would anyone have the chance to reply if it got deleted as soon as possible?
Of course /a/ isn't blameless. What we think is "|self-moderation" is actually shit posting too most of the times. But then again, we won't be able to do that if we don't get the chance to.
are you trying to sage with an image?
The responding to itself is never as subtle as you'd think.
Doesn't sage work with an image now?
That is really painful. There's nothing worse than "We discuss x subject better than their own board!", I don't care what or where it is. Of course a single shallow thread will be "better", ie. more controlled.
Mods may be at fault but so are the anons who post in them. Why must every single rec thread turn into a 400 post meta thread? Why? Every single fucking time. It's like everyone thinks they need to "have their say" at bitching at the OP even though everybody else already said it for them. Chances are someone already said "Fuck off and go to google" so the job is already done, you're not important enough to make the thread grow even bigger, so just have some self control and report and leave the thread.
The worst threads on /a/ currently are shitty rec threads obviously made to troll that never get deleted, those handful of dumb Miyazaki threads earlier today, and those Sekai Seifuku smoking threads, and other minor trolling in threads like that retard in this one. Honestly /a/ isn't that bad right now, were any of you retards even here during the tripfag shitstorms years ago? Even the studio war threads from Fall were worse. It just needs more consistent moderation, and self-moderation.
did sage ever work?
Cross boarder here
why is it such a big fucking deal? dont you want new people to come insted of the same old people to circle jerk with?
>Then you don't lurk /v/ or /co/ too often to see the bigger picture.
I suppose not. Other people may not understand that you should lurk instead of post when away from your home board, but here on /a/ we have (or had) a habit of teaching common decency.
What changed though, really? If there's no mods to save us, then it comes down to the community to squash this kind of nonsense. That's been a hard and fast rule in the past. So what specifically did we start doing differently that enabled these people to act like they have full rein over the board?
I agree with a previous poster who said we need to crack down more on grammar and spelling. I think that's a fine example, but a minor one. There's got to be something even bigger that I just don't realize because I'm not far removed enough from the situation to look at it objectively.
It always has.
Sage has worked with an image for I don't know how many years now. Get with the times guys.
I've been s wording this entire time, must be some faggot constantly bumping it or it really doesn't work, seeing as we're on page 0.
The people who come here get here by being told to fuck off for the most part. Lurking. If they didn't do any of that, they should get out.
No, I'm comfortable with my kind.
What the fuck are you talking about? /fit/ is by far the most unfriendly
Everytime I visit /fit/ I get flashbacks of the popular kids from highschool ;_;
all sage ever does is made another faggot really angry and bumping the thread 10 additional times.
New people is the very last thing I want. I'm sure others feels the same.
4chan will die completely once moot dies and old age isn't the only way to go as we all know.
I have been repeatedly told that as long as 4chan exists there can simply be no alternative to /a/.
With both of these in mind I say we should all work to plan the creation of a new site in advance for when the unthinkable happens and the forgone conclusion of the fucking /a/POCALYPSE goes down.
A high quality moderation and janitorial staff must be planned ahead who are actively devoted to overall quality of the community regardless of civil disagreement, they must also be scattered at various timezones worldwide in order to ensure there will be consistent moderation 24 fucking 7.
Next is arguably the very most important dilemma itself: funds.
The site must be able to mimic the layout of a single average 4chan image board while maintaining a low enough cost for /a/ to properly immigrate, this means creating a single board.
Also in advance the possibility of death for either staff or even the admin themselves must be considered in advance so proper replacements can quickly be instituted.
Try to make it as obscure as possible or prepare the janitors for absolute war on moral/normalfaggots.
Finally they must like loli and imouto because fuck you.
>wanting even more newfags that don't lurk
Nein merci, amigo.
That happened much less on /a/ compared to other places.
It's not like /a/ doesn't want new people. /a/ wants to maintain the status quo and just discuss anime without lowering themselves to somebody else's level. It's like the senate discussing polictics with elementary home room council.
Newfags should have some sort of "Guide to /a/" if they want a sensible discussion with it.
Nope, wherever we move I will never tolerate pedo scum.
There were a few casualfag crossboarders in the Miyazaki threads earlier today, pulling the same "old anime was mature art and had no cliches, new anime is all moeshit", etc that gets tossed around every time /v/ makes a rec thread.
90% of it was people just trolling because they know how to press buttons.
that is true, but you know how retarded moot is.
>it's not like /a/ doesn't want new people
I'm not going to speak for /a/, but do we REALLY want even MORE people? I kind of wish at least half the people on 4chan would just go, in the hopes moot will remove this shitty timer.
Alright, but for the people who are just civil about coming here and want to have a good time to discuss something they like why just shit on them?
Then shouldn't someone solve it by making some guide or maybe even making multiple guides? I mean you've got something going here.
Then your hatred of pedo means that you should understand that liking the loli is a way to keep the normalfags out.
The guide to /a/ is lurking.
People don't want to discuss things who are new to a certain hobby or interest, because they never have anything to contribute, and are usually idiots who require handholding. That's not fun discussion for anybody. Nobody here wants to do work.
I sure as hell don't want more people.
I think it's often our own newfags getting carried away.
/a/ is not fucking bad right now. People still get told to fuck off. The only problem with it is incompetent moderation.
Please stop posting and lurk more.
>yfw 4chan dies and it gets replaced a web 2.0 style 4chan.
Get the fuck out. Can't you see we don't want you here?
>must be some faggot constantly bumping it
This is why sage doesn't actually do anything. There is ALWAYS somebody that is never going to sage and ruin it for everybody else.
That's why NOT POSTING is the only actual solution. Please take this to fucking heart.
It would help if the containment boards could actually be dealt with instead of giving them a save-haven to grow
I agree with this. MOST of the problems we have now are in some way related to the fact that 4chan is bigger than ever.
If we have a smaller population, it becomes more focused, consistent, and easier to moderate. Huge boards fail to establish an identity because of this, leading to infighting.
If /a/ was say, a fifth of the size it is now, we'd actually be able to self-moderate without having to plea to the mods to save us.
I don't see why we would want any new people considering we are already overflowing with people, and new people would just be newfags who are the ones who ruin discussions since no power level.
>With both of these in mind I say we should all work to plan the creation of a new site in advance for when the unthinkable happens
But we have, we've got like at least three of them.
I think if we were to migrate somewhere we'd look for somewhere that felt like /a/. So we'd probably go to the places that looked like 4chan.
There's literally a goddamn lurkmore wiki. Then there's the /a/ wiki. Then there's actually fucking lurking. All of it is easily found with Google.
There's a lot people announcing they are from /a/ in /vg/, so obviously they attract people from there in here.
BUMP LIMIT! Finally
>do we REALLY want even MORE people?
The thing is we'll never know anyway as long as they act like the rest of the board.
>The guide to /a/ is lurking.
Newfags find that out after they make their threads.
I'm not trying to say I've posted random meme shit like feels and I'm not trying to be mean here at all, I was just trying to figure out why you guys really didn't want anyone else here.
And yeah I have been lurking.
The ride never ends!
This is part of the reason why bronies are still around. They feel as if they have an even more concrete image or a sense of belonging in 4chan, and they will create maymays to feel as if something really is going on. Unfortunately this the best chemo we have for this cancer due to lack of hardcore moderation the likes of which never seen before.
Because you ruin everything by existing in the first place.
If it comes to that I'll do it all myself.
It's a SINGLE FUCKING BOARD, paying for it shouldn't be that hard.
Then I'll snatch all you little girls up in my sack come Christmas and take you to your new dollhouse okay?
>why just shit on them?
You won't get shit on if you're not a fucking idiot. There's lots of newfags who manage to get by just fine by simply not talking out of their ass, or not typing like a moron.
Even the way you fucking type is horrendous. No fucking commas at all.
And no, guides are not a solution. We did guides years ago, just like we had lots of rec charts. Neither worked, EVER. Just fucking LURK.
>will we ever know
Yes. We know right now. We already have too many people, hence the fucking timer.
Where did I lose that magic button that kills every last person that posts in /b/ still.
Why can't moot just "hire" more janitors
I'd rather have a janitor go on a deleting rampage than let shit threads fester
Stop blogging about your shitty opinion. Seriously, go fuck yourself.
A new one will rise from the darkness unforetunately.
Clearly you haven't lurked enough.
In fact, I'm honestly not sure if /a/ is the kind of place that suits you. You may actually want to try another site, and this isn't just me being a jackass, I don't think you'll enjoy it here.
I just set email:"sage";boards:a;always and forget about it.
I remove it in the odd event the thread is about to die and needs a bump.
Usually if I'm in a thread I like I want to maintain it as-is, and would rather avoid bumping it to the top for casual browsers to see. So, only decent anons who know what threads to look for see it and casuals get sucked into containment threads.
W-will loli be allowed?
/l/ will return. The prophecy says so.
Why do you love meta shit so much kino mod?
>MOST of the problems we have now are in some way related to the fact that 4chan is bigger than ever
This is a lie. 4chan is getting less traffic than it did around 2011, 2012. We are losing people to leddit and other maymay sites. The problem is IRC and the crossboarders, not 4chan gettinger bigger, because it's actually getting smaller.
>Newfags find that out after they make their threads.
It's funny because they always say "Why are you guys bullying me!? I didn't know I wasn't supposed to make these kinds of threads!".
And then you just tell them, well, if you had lurked in the first place, this wouldn't have happened to them.
It's for their own good, it's for our own good, it's for everybody's benefit.
1 mod/janitor per 10000 users is his recipe for success.
The only problem with that idea is that will it have enough of an initial userbase to get started on?
I can't really speak much of moot's marketing tactics, but early 4chan was rather slow and I think more accepting that it is now, though for obvious reasons.
If you try and boot out people initially, would it work that well for creating a stable and consistent user base that's also fun to talk to?
Protip: You're supposed to report rule-breaking posts. Even at 1 mod per 100 users it still wouldn't be enough without the report system.
Making the board is not the difficult part.
The lack of userbase and clear contact with the administrators turns the place into a shitty circlejerk pretty fast.
Plenty of imageboards were created to be a place where 4chan oldfags tried to escape once things got a little too rough, and they all end up being worse than before.
Unless you manage to migrate at least a 50% of /a/'s current userbase, it won't feel the same.
This is exactly what I do too.
There are plenty of other imageboards to migrate to.
But you wont.
Because bitching and calling eachother crossboarders is a part of /a/. And you love it.
And you will miss it when its gone.
It's rather sad that this thread hasn't been deleted yet.
Even in n/a/ruto day, meta threads were deleted. And that was amidst all the shitposting, mods still singled out the meta thread.
hey guys I'm an "oldfag" from /sp/ (considering it's only been around since 2008). I mostly lurk here because if I just hunt around in your threads I'm able to find stuff that looks interesting all the time without having to make a rec thread, even if it means resorting to google image search. I try to respect your rules, so I don't post often, mainly because I have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about when it comes to anime.
/sp/, as you all probably already know, is one of the worst boards on this site. we've been invaded by normals, beta feelfags, casuals, outlaws, all sorts of undesirables. there's still a decent sports-discussing contingent going on, but we're basically confined to our generals, which sucks.
the thing I came here to say though, is that anime-lovers are one of the major offenders. I know, I know, you're going to disown them as "not true /a/nons" but people are naturally going to associate the problem with you and your kind. the purists that remain want to kick everything off-topic back to the board it came from, and up there near the top of the list is anime.
hell, they're even PROUD of doing it, they'll create "who /a/ here?" threads knowing that it pisses us off and that the mods won't do shit about it. I don't know what I can do about it anymore, I just want my board back. It's painful. This thread gave me hope that maybe you shared in that pain, maybe that's not the case, but I felt that regardless I should inform you of our plight.
If you want to take a look at what happens when crossboarders take over, just look at /sp/. We are your future.
4chan is shit and always has been shit. /a/ is no worse now than it ever was, and you can still find just as much quality discussion threads as at anytime in the past. You guys are all just sad, pathetic losers who like to think of the past as being 'the good old days' as a method of escaping from your current shitty lives. You are living your entire lives looking at the world through nostalgia lenses.
I'm just glad that shit usually shitposts on /v/ and not here.
It'd never be the same, and you know it.
When 4chan dies, /a/ and all of its /a/nons die with it.
>but there's *chan and *chan!
It doesn't matter. It's just not the same, at all. The userbase gets too fragmented and our home simply isn't the same.
I'll just keep enjoying 4chan as long as I can. The day 4chan dies(if I live that long) is going to be one of the saddest days of my life.
I'll never forget you guys.
>4chan is shit
Are you saying there are places out there that are better, because I have yet to find any.
But even if it is shit, shouldn't there have been times where it was less?
>watching anime alone without anyone to discuss it with
Might as well sudoku by that time.
I'm saying that the quality of posts in general is shit. But like I said, there is still plenty of quality discussion to be found if you want it.
I can safely say that /a/, nowadays, is worse than 2010's /a/, a little better than 2011, way better than 2012(blame KS), and the same as 2013, for now.
Less than 4 years isn't fucking nostalgia.
2005 /a/ was way better, but you can use the nostalgia card there.
Moot is a little older than me so I'm hoping he'd beat me to the death race.
Wouldn't you want to see 4chan crumble down? Can you imagine that one smidgen of a moment of unity; or last minute of faggotry before we all fall down?
There are places with more mature discussion and less shitposting.
Though in my opinion those places are filled with faggots who are afraid to insult anyone because their social image might get ruined.
It's nowhere near as fun as being here, so I can't consider them better.
MEANWHILE, IN 2010
Never change, /a/.
You are aware how difficult it is to save a bunch of anime pictures and then spam them for reactions right?
And only idiots would think any other way. But hey, better they hate /a/ then come here.
/sp/ was fucked from the start just from the fact that sports are so damn mainstream that anyone can waltz in with no barrier to entry whatsoever.
I can confirm this. I may still be a newfag in the eyes of many since I started browsing this place only since 2009, but 2012 was truly the worst year. Not just for /a/, but for the entire site in general. I'm glad those times are gone.
Of course I do. But at the same time it'd pain me too much to see it.
It's like having a really good friend. You don't want to see him die, but you also want to stay together with him as much as you can, to stay by his side when he's about to die.
That's what makes this place so beautiful: its anonymity and lack of morals. Social sites be damned with the rest of its cancer.
>But hey, better they hate /a/ then come here.
This, I have no real problem if IRC runs around trying to make other boards think we're shit. This has always been 4chan's PR strategy, make any outsiders think we're a horrible place that should be avoided at all costs.
But it got deleted.
No shit, threads don't last 4 years dumbass.
It is simple, because /a/ is the best board on 4chan, tumblr, reddit, jews etc. are unable to penetrate us unlike the other boards.
Why are you posting deleted posts when we can't even see it?
What kind of idiot are you?
All of you have a pretty good memory.
I think I started browsing this site in 2007, and I can't remember half of the shit that happened here since then. I could never say which year was better than the other one no matter how hard I try.
>/sp/ was fucked from the start just from the fact that sports are so damn mainstream that anyone can waltz in with no barrier to entry whatsoever.
you are dead wrong if you actually believe this. sports has so much going on all the time, on and off the field, that it makes for a very complex environment. i could be foolish too and just say "hey all you gotta do is watch an anime series once and then you can post in threads about that topic like everyone else because you already know all there is to know about it right?" but I know that's not the case. there's so much to learn and so much to watch that it's almost impossible to keep pace with it all. the same is true of sports, and anyone who doesn't know their shit trying to talk like they do, is very easily identified.
the difference is that lots of us actually played sports, where I'm willing to bet not many of you actually made anime. so in a sense, we're even more elitist than you are, and that means we have even higher standards of personal taste.
the problem is that the lack of moderation from the beginning has eroded those standards by making casuals and such think they are welcome since their bullshit never gets deleted on time. we're close to being in the minority by now, and it's scary.
I am extremely stupid and I feel embarassed.
I seriously hope you aren't retarded.
>we can't even see it?
How the fuck do people browse this board with 4chan X or something. Vanilla is hideous.
After a quick scan of that thread, that thread feels fundamentally very similar to this one.
Actually, as an aside, we actually did manage to expunge the big 3 cancer, didn't we, now they have a single manga chapter thread per week which are mostly clear of normalfags.
Not him but install 4chanX you retarded shit.
You can't be serious.
You do know we have an archive, right? Do you not have 4chanX?
Yawn. Too easy.
>this is bait
Thanks for improving 4chan.
I don't care.
There will be people who just can't "let go" and I love the very concept of that sentiment.
I'll give them a safe haven where everyone can laugh, wax about their waifu, drool over loli, worship Demonbane, rage at THOSE GODDAMN IMMORTAL BETA MC, and love Yotsuba.
That's more than enough I could do with my life.
Was bait. Come on guys.
Look, I'll give you another reply to feed your ego.
OP here, I honestly though this thread would have died straight away but here we are at 500+ posts. I hope to see /a/ saved, believe me it still salvageable. Do your duty and sage, report and filter threads. Good night
4chan's "thing" never really was the "lack of morals".
It's the "freedom" to talk what you're really thinking. Don't be afraid of anyone using that against you.
You just argued with someone? No one cares, you can even start happily talking with him at another thread, that's what makes anonymity so good.
Actually, that's one of the reasons most of 4chan's userbase despise tripfags. It's because they're trying to force an identity onto a group of people who are totally fine with the anonymity of the place.
And that's not only for tripcodes. Pretty much any kind of identification you can post about yourself is seen as something bad.
You're from country X? Great, your country is a piece of shit and I hope you die.
You're gay? Great, now suck my cock.
You're a girl? Great now get the fuck out.
You're black? Great now back to Africa.
People read shit like that and think
>Man those 4chan guys sure are incredibly racist misogynists pigs
And it's not really like that.
Well, some of us are, but the thing is: Do you REALLY have the absolute need to state your gender, sexual orientation, country or race? On an anonymous imageboard? Of course you don't.
That's what new people and normalfags don't get about 4chan.
I thought it was bait but I always respond seriously anyway, the thing is I think it's important for newfags to see retarded posts face public execution to make the fearful about posting something similar themselves. They don't know it was bait, they don't need to.
Here are some key words for identifying shit posters:
Try to limit the use of these words (especially the first two) and ignore dumbasses who overuse them.
NO WAY, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!
Anon you just proved my point. Yes there are a number of people who actually do know what they are talking about people see, "sports." and walk right on in after they're father made them watch the Super Bowl so he could become a real man.
Thing is they'd come in at a very fast rate and as far as I know no major efforts were made to try and repel them so it just kept compounding.
>We played sports, and you didn't make anime!
Most people did play some sport at some time in their life. And of course we don't make anime.
>words offend me
Moses is a faggot. He should've written this in the old testament.
to that list.
I responded because I felt sorry for the guy.
Sometimes, I don't know if people are pretending to be retarded or not, anymore. These are different times.
I'll stop saying Beta once pussy MC stop being it.
Alpha gives a sense of power just from the very sound of the word alone.
I wouldn't go that far, but they're nice and easy linguistic patterns you can use to identify shitposters. If a post contains any of those terms, chances are it's a shitty troll trying to get a rise out of you.
Nobody is offended by word the imbeciles have latched onto and diluted their meaning down to being copypaste trolling. It brings the whole level of the board down even lower.
But you say Beta to any MC that has flaws!
Can we add bait?
English has a million different synonyms, and you are too lazy to use them? Hell, you shouldn't repeatedly use the same words to describe things anyway. That's just poor writing.
Keep being paranoid. Its cringeworthy to say the least. Maybe you should get that autism checked out.
Bait is just the new word for troll.
They are synonyms as far as I'm aware.
As an aside, that's not a true quote
You're assuming that just watching a game means that you know anything more than jack shit, which is false.
The thing you are referring to is that sports are a niche that is more socially acceptable to get into than anime is. While true, that doesn't make it any easier to learn properly. That means that there's an even greater population of people who don't know what they're talking about, and just like you we do our best at chasing them away until they actually learn their shit.
We are not your "typical" sports fans, just like /a/ is not your "typical" anime watchers. Both groups are disgusting and therefore mocked and derided.
The point I'm trying to make is that just like several other boards, we're similar to you, we simply have a much different focus. We've gone down the path of self-destruction due to having no moderation to speak of, but you can still save yourselves.
Ooh ooh I got this! This post has words from >>101304870 and >>101304987, that means it's shitposting, right?
I call Rito, Keitaro, Kodaka, and Keiichi Beta.
I call Haru, Makoto, Issei, and Harem King Ken Alpha.
Its still highly relevant and very important to this board
Now you're getting the hang of it!
Good thing he's not the one writing the anime, now is he?
No anon, what I'm saying is that people who do just watch a game assume they know something worth talking about and throw themselves into /sp/.
There is nothing more toxic to a board than people who aren't enthusiastic about the things they care about.
I'd also like to add
to that list.
Any others we've missed?
add that to the list
I thought Japanese uses the same words over and over again. It certainly isn't nearly as capable of being overly-flowery like English can be.
Top [insert three letter thingy here]
At least he put some effort into it so people might respond to something besides an insulting laziness. Anyone with low quality bait is the joke.
Japanese does have a million synonyms for every word, probably even more so than english.
Most of them are archaic and barely ever used though.
Honestly, calling an MC beta is already probably a shitpost. Any shy, insecure main character immediately becomes an excuse to discredit an entire series by legions of seven-word-per-post jackasses. Also, it's about as uncreative as you can get, to the point of being the go-to criticism for any show you dislike (like no character development or Mary Sue, other terms that have been spammed into meaninglessness).
Nipponese is based heavily on context, so the same set of words said under different circumstances can have wildly different meanings. Fortunately, English is descriptive enough that the context itself can be captured in the text.
Also I think he wasn't seriously trying to catch anyone with it.
>Most of them are archaic and barely ever used though.
Well that doesn't count for obvious reasons.
Most of them came from the chinese though. Chinese are the real motherfuckers with synonyms. Or rather, unique words for everything on every situation
well fine, I can concede that, but we made fun of those faggots just like you guys "boku no pico" anyone who makes a blatantly obvious rec thread. we're decent at driving those guys away, they were never really the problem though. the problem was the people who started posting off-topic threads like blog posts and such, which the newfags get a whiff of and think "oh this place welcomes off-topic posting" so they post something even more off-topic from other boards they browsed like waifu threads or feet threads or feel threads and such, and the situation compounded from there.
we never had moderation to deal with that, even though we fought it all we could with self-moderation. that only can go so far.
>Fortunately, English is descriptive enough that the context itself can be captured in the text
Could you please elaborate on that?
For rec threads, why don't we just suggest whatever OP said he had watched beforehand?
It may give BnP a rest for a while.
People already do that sometimes.
>can anyone enlighten me on which high-traffic boards hate anime the most?
/sp/ and /vg/ in my experience.
In a thread on page 10 about to die? Nope, just ask Daiz about capturing Japanese language context in English the next time you see him.
>not continuously spreading the words about BnP
I want heretics to go away.
you mean like "hey i just watched SAO what else should i watch?" and we reply "go watch SAO" ?
if so i like that, it's far less subtle but just as passive aggressive.
What are you talking about? The sex in BnP is great.
Because that means MORE POSTS.
I'm going to start doing this to. It has a nice condescending tone to it.
I'll still pepper in the occasional BnP though.
Can I make a thread asking for help to make a new official chart for anime and manga with harem end?
I want to spread that glorious word as well, but I don't want to be accused of making a rec thread and I don't know how else to go about it.
I find it difficult to call /vg/ a single board.
Every general in there has it's own userbase, and most of them don't even interact with each other.
A lot of people from /a/ visit vitagen, for example. So you can see anime is pretty well accepted in that place.
Oh my god
Just don't fucking reply to rec threads
