It was the best arc in the manga, but an abysmal second season. What went wrong?
Gunslinger Girl thread.
What are you talking about, there was never a second season.
You will never see the final arc animated.
I kinda liked the second season.
Fuck, I hurt so much after that. The only other part that really got me was Triela's Backstory. Goddamn
You will never see Triela's sundress animated, either.
second season? what second season
other than the low budget animation, I don't see any real problem with it.
The artstyle killed it.
They changed the voice cast. They dropped their previous obsessive eye for detail on firearms. The soundtrack was shit. It just wasn't a good adaption, at all. As a followup to the first season, it was a huge disappointment.
not really. My only real issue with the art change was that the whole season looked a little too bright compared to the darker look of the first season. That and the backgrounds were less detailed, but I don't remember the artstyle change really affected my enjoyment that much.
>They dropped their previous obsessive eye for detail on firearms.
I'm not an anal retentive /k/ fag so i really don't care that much.
>The soundtrack was shit
I don't remember being particularly bothered by it.
>It just wasn't a good adaption, at all.
I didn't read the manga and I'm pretty used to tv anime not always following the manga to a tee. I kinda like it better that way from time to time.
>As a followup to the first season, it was a huge disappointment
I didn't like it as much as the first, but I still enjoyed it. And I felt like it expanded on the characters and the actual conflict a little more.
If you watch the dub version, they actually got most of the series 1 cast back together. Only Hilshire had changed.
The problem was Yu Aida himself. If you look at the credits for Il Teatrino, he's credited as the series' "Total Supervisor"... which can only actually mean "overly precious, meddling and micromanaging busybody getting under everyone's feet and infuriating and preventing the effective work of the actual staff."
You can see shots in Il Teatrino which don't just reference the manga but slavishly replicate it. It's more of a motion comic than it is an anime. Yu should have let the confidence to let someone else handle his baby, because all the fumbling between them caused them to drop it.
What is Yu Aida been doing since GSG ended, anyway?
Your opinions are okay, and I disagree respectfully. I highly recommend the manga, though.
I was a big fan of Eri Sendai's Triela.
I've never had much faith in Aida, as much as I love Gunslinger Girl.
I watched this entire show and I don't remember a a thing from it
most forgetful show ever
actually that's not entirely true, I remember that one scene where the brown blonde loli robot was carried out of a shed after being raped but that is the only scene I can seem to recall
>I highly recommend the manga, though.
i've been trying to get a hold of some copies.
>I was a big fan of Eri Sendai's Triela.
I liked the chick they got to play Henrietta.
Also, one reason i gave some of the second season a pass on the artstyle change was because I thought Henrietta still looked pretty.
Read the manga.
is it still in print
>I didn't read the manga and I'm pretty used to tv anime not always following the manga to a tee. I kinda like it better that way from time to time.
The anime follows the story of the manga to a tee.
100 chapters and over.
I thought it stopped exactly at 100 Chapters
I wanted Pino to win
I liked Pino a lot, but Triela is a miracle. I'm glad she survived long enough to live a full and healthy life with the person she loved most.
I couldn't give 2 fucks about Triela. Pino didn't deserve that death. I resent having seeing him go out.
Don't worry They all die.
Different studio with lower animation quality.
Artland didn't have as much expertise and budget as Madhouse, plain and simple.
Remember both seasons were done by completely different studio.
