>Moomin (楽しいムーミン一家 Tanoshii Mūmin Ikka) is the third anime TV series adaptation based on the books by the Finnish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson
moomin was a scarring experience. Its one of those things they used in the old days to scare the shit out of children so that they wouldn't do stuff they werent supposed to, like being outdoors when its dark or walking on ice.
Go back and watch the two main episodes Groke appears in. Now realise she's actually a sad old lady who's just a bit lonely and socially inept.
>You will never live in Moomin Valley
>You will never play all day with Moomin and friends
>You will never sit next to Snufkin while he plays his harmonica
>You will never taste Moominmamma´s food
Go to finland
I know this was huge show in Finland, but what about japan where it was made? Did it have any viewers there while it ran?
The 60s/70s anime that aired in Japan was made for a Japanese audience and ran for quite a few episodes as well as a film. A huge amount of Moomin merch is made and sold exclusively in Japan and continues to be released to this day.
I never knew there was a Moomin anime. It's such a good series and it gets pretty dark in the later books.
Will i find a torrent for this if i look?
Yes, I watched it every sunday evening when I was younger.
dance with me, /a/
Hmm, I didn't remember Moomin had that good music
Moomin has the best OST
Is it just my nostalgia speaking, or did this show have a really great soundtrack for children's anime?
Mah nigga. Snufkin was a fucking badass.
>it gets pretty dark in the later books
>Like Moominpappa at Sea, the work is more somber in tone than previous books in the series, and it has been suggested that this is a direct result of the death of Jansson's mother, Signe Hammarsten-Jansson, during the year that it was written. Because of this, it has been described as being a "textbook on letting go, being a mature orphan, existing spiritually alone" and features a young orphan looking for a mother as one of its primary characters. Following this work, Jansson later stated that she "couldn't go back and find that happy Moominvalley again" and so decided to stop writing the Moomin books.
I haven't read any of the Moomin books, but I remember listening to the audio tape of Moominpappa at Sea when I was a child.
I don't remember much, but it was really heavy for a kid like me who had only seen the show and read some of the comics.
>just checked this
Imagine what it was like for me watching Neuro when it aired, I had only just found someone posting Japanese Moomins eps on Youtube the same week. Sadly, those videos were removed a long time ago.
well isn't that cute
welcome to /a/ new friend
That's it, I'm not going to bed today
It still hurts.

Haha ei vittu! Another masterpiece
I was never that scared of the Groke even as a kid. She just needed some love. The Lady of the Cold freaked me out on the other hand.
Show is getting slowly subbed.
one of the scariest shit ever period
