Why are their so few mature anime for mature viewers such as my parents?
>>
>>101257493
Follow up question why does every single anime involve a school. It doesnt make sense how prevalent it is. Even if you want to make an anime about about highschool/middleschool age kids... just set it during their summer break or some shit. American animations are all about kids but hardly ever involve school let alone being set in one. I can think of a single anime that i would recommend to some one else that involved school in anyway.

But anon, kodomo no jikan and lotte no omocha are anime for mature people
>>
there are many.

but:
a) the anime fanbase hates alot of these anime so they are unsubbed
b) they are old
>>

>It doesnt make sense how prevalent it is.
It does actually. Vicariously living through characters in an effort to mask how terrible their own school days were? I think you forget, or rather don't know who this stuff is aimed at.

I understand why its school age kids. And why you would have to give a reason why school age kids aren't in school. But Why make shows about school things that kids are already doing doesn't that miss the point of escapism?
>>
>>101258174
I'm not asking for recommendations. I put GIT, mushishi and baccano on a external hard drive and gave it to them. Im doing reasearch(adding to my back log) for more anime on my own.

>>101258039
Yeah Ive noticed alot of them are older and while some of them still look good, Most are unsubbed.
>>
>>101258203
As I said, mask how terrible their own school days were. You aren't forced to be around people who pick on you or forced to interact with people you hate, otherwise.
>>
>>101258028
>lotte no omocha
>kodomo no jikan
reading the plots of those on wikipedia made me feel unclean. My mother would become visibly upset if some one let her become aware of their existence.
>>101258454
Damn I know people take school more serious in japan then america. But you would at-least think they would take the time to do all the crazy anti bully stuff we have here.
>>
>>101258527
If you think it's only Japan, then you should question why a lot of people here watch anime. Lots of people just want to relive their teen years.
>>
>>101258454

Can't they just forget about their school days? Why can't we get more fun shows for the office worker, like Servant x Service?
>>
>>101258713

It's because they leave their school days, the Japanese are forced into an endless grind of perpetual twelve hour working days and heavy drinking with no respite for the rest of their lives.

This is like being a cop dealing with shit all day then coming home and watching a show about an idealized version of your job. It would only make your life seem shittier or the show seem retarded. I cant see how these peoples logic functions.

Although following this thread of thought would lead to why the obsession over 2d girls/rejection of 3d is a thing.
>>
>>101258970

Not really. They're not watching anime about idealized office workers with awesome jobs.

They're watching an anime about highschool. Which is a thing they can remember and go "Man, those really were the best days of my life."

Even if they were actually pretty shitty. It's a nostalgia thing.

My dad enjoys Symphogear, Baccano, VVV, Horizon, TWGOK and Macross.

Does that mean anything?
>>
>>101259103

He has reasonable taste, and also enjoys watching trainwrecks?
>>
>>101259103
Baccano is essentialy standard american televison done better.

>murder
>drama
>supernatural shit to make it interesting

you just described half the shows on tv right now.

My parents like it so far but theyfind some of the Dub voices annoying.
>>
>>101259239
also why are there so few animes with old people.
>>
>>101259103
>Horizon
Your dad has phenomenal taste.
>>
>>101258392
>giving your parents anime to watch
Do I even need to tell you to kill yourself?
>>
I watched Big O with my dad, and Dragon Ball Z with him when I was younger.

I'd show him Tiger and Bunny, because it's radical.
>>

I would love it if Old People Anime became a thing.

>SoL: Group of old guys and their wacky old people adventures.
>Shonen: Group of old friends find out they have superpowers, and vow to protect their town from evil.
>Harem: Grampa is put in a retirement home where all the old ladies are all over him.
>Romance: Old couple start falling back in love after finding out one of them has a terminal illness.

Make it happen, Japan.
>>
>>101263344
I feel like it'd be a little sad too, because they're so close to death.
>>
>>101263415
Maybe, but it could round up the underlying message of anime.

"Highschool was the best time of your life"
"This stage of your life is kinda shit, huh?"
"Don't worry, when you become old and retire things will be cool again."
>>
>>101265376
I would watch it for the waifus.

>Obaachan is a slut etc
>>
>>101263344
heart status: warmed

Also what the fuck is that image and where can I fund Jojo Part XXVII: The Iron Walker Years?
>>
>>101257952
>American animations are all about kids but hardly ever involve school let alone being set in one.
What American animations are you watching? Nearly all I can think of that have children MCs at least feature school every so often.
>>
>>101258203
>I understand why its school age kids
To make it easier for otaku to self-insert in order to compensate for their own wasted school age life?
>>
>>101263344
>Shonen: Group of old friends find out they have superpowers, and vow to protect their town from evil.
Oh, come on. Just make it about authentic wizards.
>>
>>101257493
>Why are their so few mature anime for mature viewers

They are childrens cartoons that is fucking why you dense cunt.
