Is Yahari Ore no Seishun any good?
Dont remember this anime at all, must have slipped under my radar.
Is it worth a watch at least?
I like Karen in the show
at least in the top 5 of last year according to /a/. where among that 5 is debatable.
one of the few shows ive seen around here with many active threads and almost no hatebase.
It's pretty bad and the main character is an edgy cunt.
I'm watching it right now and having fun. I liked how the delinquent girl works on a top class bar instead of a maid café.
fuck off newfag
he's /a/ dark knight
I hear White album was the best romance of last year though I watch fuck all romace nowdays.
Did both of them air at the same time?
>almost no hatebase
Well fuck now Im curious. The first time I realized the show existed was from a fucking amazing MCxSensei doujin.
Will check out.
He sure is dark alright.
Just go and watch it. Form your own opinion.
It's OK but /a/ likes sucks MC's dick because they feel like they can relate to him even though they're retarded.
Commie subs made it watchable, if not, it's just yet another generic SoL.
All-around likeable and somewhat original MC.
One of the female leads has brains, and the plot involved with the other female lead is quite interesting and again somewhat original given the MC's position in the matter.
Likeable support characters like the white haired chick and sensei, but also cardboard cut-outs and unlikeable like the trap and the chuuni guy respectively.
The plot is relatively simple but manages to be thought-provoking and interesting despite starting out really unoriginal and SoL.
Finally the animation on it is pretty shit, with nothing major standing out and some pretty silly moments where they saved budget (i.e the gif concert)
If you can grasp subtext, yes, it should be quite good.
If you just halfheartedly pay attention to it, you'll miss the things that make the characters interesting.
It's a good show
In other words its boring as fuck
it is bad if I liked yui more than yukino?
I think they are both good but yui wins something, I dunno what it is
>I hear White album was the best romance of last year
White Album 2 is romance drama. Yahari is !romance comedy.
Yes, but I'm not sure why.
Yahari just had some charm to it, don't know what it was.
She wins for not being a Senjougahara wannabe
I don't get all the love for this guy either, I liked the show and I liked how he wasn't your average guy but he was annoying more often than not and his way of doing things was stupid.
Sometimes /a/ likes the worst males. Touma is one that comes to mind when thinking about other shit males people on /a/ love.
I missed it when it was airing too. Worth every second. Every. Fucking. Second.
>not living your life correctly
Reminder: Yukino > *
Both the anime and the novels are great. I highly advise watching it. Also, here's a review of Yahari Volume 8 for those who need it:
VN Translation when
I want my Trap End
Fucking blogshit everywhere.
I loved it, for the most part.
Read the novel..
Novel touma is based.
Anime touma is meh.
Someone on yt is doing the VN translations although at a glacial pace http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC18HoEpbNWDZCQbhW0G7z0Q
It's a breath of fresh air to see a MC who isn't a horny retard but in reality he's just a guy likes to make assumptions and over analyze every small thing just to find a reason to dislike someone and /a/ glorifies that for some weird reason
What the fuck is going on in this thread.
OP is a review request on something he hasn't watched and nobody told him to fuck off and see for himself?
/a/ im dissapointed.
>Being this delusional
MC is a beta faggot.
It's because it's Yahari.
Everyone deserves to get feedback on AOTY.
One of the shows that I couldn't decide who is the best girl. For me, they are both best girl.
I am too, but I'm more disappointed in your grasp of English.
>guy makes a typo in a single word
>mocks his English skills based on a typo
What the hell are you doing?
I guess people took it more as a way to talk about an already forgotten AOTS (and maybe even AOTY depending on your taste) that a lot of people really liked and less of a rec thread.
So yeah, Yahari general guys.
I am okay with this.
>trap AND sensei end
Can't give it an AOTY for that bullshit last episode. Episode 12 was better ending that the actual ending.
He's the hero we deserve, not the one we want.
Also he wants to fuck a trap.
That was just a bonus little filler episode, for fun. It wasn't even canon, 12 was the canonical arc end.
Fits /a/ to a tee then.
Who doesn't? Seriously though his best feature was that he was a nice change from your generic mc but he's not bring home to meet your mother material.
It really can't be helped for this part
You can't say no to this
OP here, if you want to know how good a past recent-ish anime you have no recolection about just test /a/´s reactions.
If it provokes a shitstorm thread it was either really good or it was one of those nonstop wreck trains. If everyone is being nice about it it must have been really good.
If no one replies the it must have been very meh.
Really? You somehow missed the tons of threads? Anyway, anime is only so-so but the LN just struck gols with me.
The show was fun, the fanbase and threads in /a/ were shit filled with normalfagtory.
Nah, it's literally worse than Hitler
Reminder LN TLs are here:
How new can one be so that he didn't notice Batman spam and theft of EE get?
>That fucking ohhh man
A character doesnt always have to be correct to be engaging
I didn't watch it when it was airing, I saw it later in the winter, but all I want to know is what the dinosaurs >>101235433 are.
Some kind of meme?
There was a heated debate where one anon said that Hachiman's attitude was comparable to feminist victimization, and another anon arguing with him saying that feminist victimization was as comparable to him as the respiratory system of dinosaurs.
>and theft of EE get?
Does anyone have the screen cap?
I just leave this here
But the best part of Yahari threads were interpretation of characters motivations and discussions about whether Hachiman as a ever giving tree or a bullshiter. For an LN show, the discussion was heavily based on events than best girl debate, while it aired.
Then afterwards it slowly waned with Sensei and trap fags popping there heads into every thread.
LN is mostly untranslated, and has tons of references and wordplay that wouldn't work for most readers here anyway.
Anime was stellar for what it did though. It could have been better about a few things but still. Great adaption.
Hachiman is someone that is too nice.
What he says about it being alright to be a loner if you want to is true, but the fact is he doesn't choose to be a loner because he really wants to. He has terrible self esteem and thinks the best thing he can do for most people is to stay alone away from them.
That lack of self esteem is why he is so willing to damage himself to help others.
>he's not bring home to meet your mother material.
And he knows it.
Myself as well. The summary before the season was terrible and then by the time I heard about it the season was already halfway done.
I regret not catching up and following along.
Sadly they cut a lot of scenes for the delinquent girl.
They condensed all 7 volumes that were out into the one anime. It's kind of a shame since that necessitates things being cut, but I have to admit they did a fantastic job at it so it doesn't feel jarring or unnatural.
Interesting MC, lame everything else.
I liked the show, though I will say I hate the last 2 episodes. The very last one didn't feel right but the real end of the season made me really see 8man for what he was, which was both sad and left me wanting and waiting for more.
This moment hit me the hardest. Yeah he's not exactly relate-able, but it doesn't mean he isn't reasonable. I really didn't even care about the girls all that much. The trap was a nice though since he was actually kind to 8man and just wanted to be friends, or his dick, which softened the blow a bit.
Just watch it, nigga really is the hero we need but don't deserve.
It's pretty good, but doesn't have much of an ending. Worth a watch, because the MC is pretty interesting and it has some funny moments, especially with trap-kun.
I'll admit that I'll be nitpicking but my complaint is only towards the budget. The adaptation of volumes 5 and 6, the highlight volumes so to speak, was lacking in the sense that the subtle hints in the LN wasn't translated well to animation. An example: I'm still reeling from Yukino's almost-robotic facial expression in the anime on contrast to her affected reaction in the LN when Hachiman preemptively gunned down her apology.
I'm a sucker for moralfags like Shirou or Touma who sacrifice their bodies and would give up everything to save whoever they can. Especially if they're like wild card characters with broken but at the same time weak powers.
Isn't that more "ignorance is bliss"
Oh, I don't think anyone would deny that. The Budget was painfully bad.
I mean just look at this shit, holy hell.
It sold over 10k though, so if it gets a second season maybe it will have a budget. Will need a few more volumes first though.
I still say it should take the SYD approach to a second season.
A bunch of OVAs covering the parts of the volumes already out that got skipped, and by the time they're finished enough new volumes will be out for a second season proper.
Good to know we're in agreement. It pains me but that's what's keeping me from calling it AotY - felt like it was made years behind compared to its contemporaries.
Gods, the disappointing animation during the festival performances.
I feel like I was the only one who didn't notice the poor animation.
>Gods, the disappointing animation during the festival performances.
That was actually cringy
>the disappointing animation during the festival performances
They could have played it as the performances being supposed to be bad, as a kind of comment on lackluster school celebrations or people being unable to live up to high standards or some such.
But from the LN you can clearly see that's not the case at all. The anime was just that poorly drawn.
Volume 3 http://pastebin.com/P88PXq1B
Volume 7 http://pastebin.com/9rzEjp5p (you need to have at least read the summaries)
Character Profiles http://pastebin.com/jYzi82qc
Also this for volume 7.
nice, didn't notice that volume 7 is nearly done
Chapter 9 will be done by this weekend probably. Volume 8 starting next week.
Gee, I wonder why faggots worship him like a god.
Is that Akari?
She's Akari's half-sister.
8man and the trap go well together.
But Haruno is the best
Am I missing something?
Why is only vol 7 nearly fully translated?
Is anyone working on the initial volumes?
Continuing from where the anime stopped.
If volume 8 is done before the other volumes are translated, then I'll get to them.
The first volume is slowly getting translated. Volume 7 is getting focus because it starts right where the anime left off.
Drifters anime fucking when, Japan?
I don't like how the MC forcing his own belief to the viewer. And yes, he's an edgy cunt. And a long title show will always be shit.
He's describing the world and people around him the way he sees it, and we just happen to listen to it.
I don't see how that's "forcing" it upon the viewer.
Ah sorry, can you give me an example?
No, it's pretty bad. If you like watching terrible people, then go for it.
I don't see how the show forces MC's belief when it has several characters in the same show calling him out on his shit.
Not the other guy, but the part when he's describing it? I kinda delete the show for some space.
Like when he goes on bitching about "nice girls"?
Up to episode 4.
This shit is gold. Gold i tell you.
Something like that.
Was here when you made the thread. Glad you're liking it. Still, the animations sucks balls, no? If you will, reading the summaries add much to the experience so get at them when you have the chance. Do share your thoughts when you get further ahead.
Can't wait for them to pull a Yukimura with the trap.
OH MY GOD. A show in which the MC has a personality. DROP IT.
Oh wait. The reaction is the same if an MC is a bland piece of shit.
I don't like your kind of dumbasses.
Up to episode 09.
Started seing Yui as anoying, shes now olev. I like tht the MC isnt dense about the signals she and his sister and everyone else keep shooting t him about her but its kinda disapointing he thinks its a trap. Perfectly in-character of course, but still frustrating. I kinda feel bad for Yui.
Yukino is alright, definately more interesting than most "main girls" but I think Yui kinda steals the spotlight due to faster character development and because so far Yui suffers from "first girl/#main girl syndrome" in that the story, in its intent to flesh out the other girls and characters mutes the development of the main girl until the other characters are more developed and then the main girl´s "plot" or "problem" comes in and seems to interrupt the pacing of the story to make it all about her (Ive only JUST finished ep 09 so I dont know if this is true for certain, Its just the vibes it gives me). The transition seems to be hapening better than most and the character development/fleshing out of everyone is handled pretty spectaculary.
Im gonna stop watching for now since its morning already and I gotta go to work. Im glad I picked this up.
Oh also for those calling Yukino a Sengyouhara clone they really couldnt be more mistaken. Yukino´s relationship with Hikki is clearly one in which each stand as equals in a sense. Senggyohara´s relationship with Araragi has always been with her as the one in control and the one dishing out the abuse. With this one the abuse and witty coments are equaly spat out at each other.
So dont force the meme.
I'm watching it right now. After 10 episodes it's 5.5/10.
Yukino's stuff begins next episode. You ended on a good episode. Best wishes on your work.
And to add, now that I think about it, the line "Even Yukinoshita Yukino lies" is a good way to introduce her character development. OP, better report back when you're done with episode 11.
Is it just me or she get longer hair in the LN?
They didn't adapt the 7th volume.
He's a flawed character, sometimes he's pretentious and stupid, but also can be right in many cases. He's one of a MC that can properly talk and deal with difficult situation, where many will just spout nonsense, fall asleep or many stupid lines.
He's not perfect, but bad? Not even close.
I only watched a few episodes but one thing that bothered me was MC's face, to me it looks really gross.
pretty much exactly this. I was thinking of araragi every time i saw MC
Basically "muh edgy monologue show".
MC look smart/entertaining just because the other character are fucking stupid and boring as hell.
But it's still fun to watch, OP.
>Is Yahari Ore no Seishun any good?
Yes, MC is actually good, unexpectedly
you the translator, anon ?
