I got conflicted feels about about this scoob, on the one hand, my childhood, on the other hand, kinda cool, on the other hand, Goro.
> it is also a story about the love and growth between a parent and a child
Says the man who's first movie starts with the son stabbing his father to death.
On the other hand, japanese rumpnissar
Vaffö då då? Vaffö gör di på detta viset? :O
Might be cool, but Goro has a mixed track record.
>Says the man who's first movie starts with the son stabbing his father to death.
You're reading too much into it. Tales of Earthsea was an adaptation, too.
Just goes to show that talent doesn't necessarily run in families.
I'll die if they don't give 'em Kansai-speak
>making a TV show
>making something which isn't a movie
"On Earthsea, Goro denied that Arren’s oblique patricide reflected the director’s own feelings in an interview at the Venice Film Festival. “I do not have much relationship with my father; because of that, I have never felt like killing him."
For the english speakers, I present you the butt-gnomes from Astrid Lindgrens classic "Ronja, the Robbers Daughter" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEKmjOU9C-M
>POLYGON PICTURES (Knights of Sidonia, The Sky Crawlers) is animating the 3D CG series in collaboration with Studio Ghibli.
so the animation is not ghibli per se, perhaps backgrounds and such
And a really shitty adaptation at that.
Well yeah, what is he supposed to say. But really, people like to speculate about the silliest things. Maybe he just wanted to direct a film?
>I do not have much relationship with my father; because of that, I have never felt like killing him."
better closeup from the NHK website
This will save CG anime.
>You're reading too much into it. Tales of Earthsea was an adaptation, too.
Arren never stabbed his father to death in the books. Arren wasn't even the fucking main character in the books.
I wasn't aware. Surely Goro would have come up with a more subtle way to express his dislike of his father if that was his intent.
