Who snake here?
Also Otorimonogatari OP full version when?
snake a slut
Kaiki is best monogatari
Your thread is doomed.
Pic related, it's what you should've started with
Her manga when?
Finished the book. Really good. I liked koyomimonogatari and owari up with those mystery/detective genre and short stories whatever that is but this book returned to its mysterious/thrilling appeal and was not a collection of shorts.
This is the missing timeframe from NekoShiro. Anti-climatic as usual. First sub's name is Seishirou Shishirui. Shinobu basically chose to be with Araragi and Ararargi chose to be with Shinobu. But Seishirou was content because Shinobu isn't alone anymore. Because Shinobu IS supposed to have a partner. Poof. Dead. Talk about NTR.
Gaen went full Kaiki and lied to Kanbaru saying she is Meme's relative lol.
There are surprising bits about Episode and Kanbaru went Kamijou TOUMAN near the end. If the final season were to be animated I'll be looking forward for this scene the most. Kanbaru shined on this one and Shinobu's realization about Seishirou/Araragi is very good IMO.
They also replicated the kiss scene in bake with saying "I love you" to each other. Arararagi and Hitagi.
The end credits said Owari down will be the final story so Zokuowari might be the SoL adventures during arararagi's first year in college.
And oh, Arararagi was cool in this book.
Kaiki, Kanbaru and Yotsugi best grills.
>Owari down is the final story
So Shinobu died and Hitagi won?
Shinobu didn't die and Hitagi always won since Hana is the last in the timeline. The final season is mostly filling in blanks and i'm guessing finishing off the Ougi plot where undoubtedly Meme will make a spectacular return in the final novel.
I just realize we're never going to see an adaptation of the short story of Araragi taking Nadeko to the pool.
> Otorimonogatari translation when?
Sorry, but this isn't "my shitty vampire loli can't this cute", thankfully.
She's okay. My least favorite, but I still like her.
Overrated as shit.
Also overrated, but I still love her.
Sounds pretty good. Can't wait to see it animated since we'll never see a translation.
I'm a crabfag but don't fucking joke about that. I don't think my heart could take it.
>Overrated as shit.
No anon, you're overrated.
What about the fire sisters? Do any of them get another arc on the third season of the LN?
Best girl, other anons just have shit taste.
Shinobu best monogatari.
All monogataris best monogataris except for Gaen and Yozuru because they a shit
But instead of bitching about characters, lets bitch about something else: why are coalgirls such an underrated sub group
But snake still a shit.
>all monogataris best monogataris
Glad somebody else said it. I'm tired of posting the same shit in every thread. They're all great, though obviously we all have favorites.
Snake is a cunt. Cat crab and bat are best girls followed closely by monkey and bee.
snake is great, you just don't understand her
I want a giant plush snake, like the literal white snake
>tried to kill phoenix just because she hates oddities
>destroyed a house to do so
>doesn't take good care of corpse
That is the definition of shit
>lists some of Kagenui's best moments
>says it's shit
The only possible definition of shit here is your taste.
Finally a Snake thread
Snake is pretty great, I wish she stayed as god medusa though
The only thing going for her is that she's cute.
Meant to quote >>101213844
Based crazy Snake
Manga got out today, but it sold out instantly on Amazon, so I'm waiting for a restock, so they could ship mine.
Well, if that's the only thing you see, then I guess.
Fuck off faggot I was talking about Kagenui. She's a shitty character and you have shit taste.
Snake good, but Cat best.
Also, what's best OP?
I like them all.
You seriously have to ask?
Good taste. Cat's my second favorite and gets way too much shit here. The OPs are like the girls: they're all best.
>Snake good, but Cat best.
>anything but worst
Literally the only bad girl
All of them except the one where Kaiki sings. Holy shit I have never heard a duet so grating. Which is a massive fucking shame because that OP has the best animation, direction, and imagery.
All of them.
>saying anything about another character being only cute
Snake is perfect and wonderful, it's just that she's just the least perfect and wonderful gatari.
>Holy shit I have never heard a duet so grating.
It's par of the course with the rest of the elements in it.
And then these faggots show up and shit up the thread.
ITT: My girl is better than your girl.
Let's just be done without and rename the board Facebookchan.
You are entitled to your opinion, as wrong and misled as it may be.
Snake's my least favorite of the main girls, but she still is infinitely better than Kagenui.
That's because you're a tasteless pleb.
Cat and Snake are the only bad girls.
>implying bad girls exist here
/g/ pls help
When I tried renaming an OP it would get skipped when I played an episode it's from
I don't like this 'separate the chapters into different files' bullshit
I'm not the one content eating shit. Kagenui is an objectively shitty character and you have to be mentally disabled to not see that. I suppose I should feel bad for picking on a literal retard.
>mfw snake thread
Why is cat such rape bait
Why are we talking about Cat, we had a huge thread about her just yesterday.
I love Nadeko.
>hurr durr I have no idea what I'm talking about so I'm just gonna call him a retard
>her voice in that scene
Is it wrong to relate to Nadeko more than any other anime character including males?
>her hair in that scene
I have no idea.
hurr durr I'll sling shit but if someone does it back I'll whine like a bitch
Crab > Bat > Bee > Bird > Snail > Snake > Monkey > Cat
Don't bring that shit here. Let's keep this thread somewhat civil.
>crab is better than the fire sisters or snail
Crab is my favorite too but I still hold that all Monogataris are best girls. Favorites vary but they're all amazing.
>better than anyone
Bee is just a shitty Kanbaru clone and Bird doesn't even have a personality. She just exists to as a meta and reference banter fodder.
Even going by looks Bee is still just a shitty Kanbaru clone and Bird isn't as cute as Snake or Sexy as Doll.
Gonna post this here because I finally wrote it up and made it someone comprehensible. First off this is just a theory and even though I am fairly confident that I am on track with the whole apprentice thing please tell me if there are any holes in this theory or just anything that you could add in general. Lastly before I start I can come up with about quite a lot more examples for each of these characters, so if you want some more evidence then just let me know.
I will post in in a couple posts due to the text cap limit.
Araragi is obviously Oshino's 'apprentice' of some sorts. This is fairly obvious from the very first episode of Bakemonogatari. Well I believe Senjougahara to be Kaiki's 'apprentice' along with Hanekawa being Gaen's 'apprentice'. I hesitate to use the word apprentice due to the connotation it holds, but it's the only word that I can come up with to accurately describe their relationships. This assumption of Senjougahara and Kaiki is more concrete than Hanekawa and Gaen, but both are equally alluded to throughout the series. Kaiki uses lies(he's a con man) to achieve his goals. The only other compulsive liar on the show is Senjougahara, and just like Kaiki she uses the lies to achieve her goals. Not only do both of them use lies to accomplish their intentions, but both of them seem to have a deeper aspect to their relationship with each other hiding behind the obvious fact that Kaiki helped ruin her family. This was lightly hinted at in Nisemonogatari when Araragi and Senjougahara both go to tell Kaiki to get out of town. In season 2 it becomes more apparent during their drawn out phone conversations. Another good thing to notice is when Kaiki meets Senjougahara in the airport cafe and they have the little game of who can look more ridiculous. Both of them seem to agree on many things even when they are unspoken. When Kaiki realizes that Senjougahara had slipped the letter under his hotel room door he also realized that he had been duped by his own underling. He realized that she was starting to work at the same level as he was, just as Hanekawa and Araragi are starting to work at a higher level nearer to Oshino's and Gaen's. Lastly, we don't know anything about what happened when Kaiki met Senjougahara as a younger girl, but the fact that they had a relationship in the past makes this all somewhat more plausible.
This is objectively the worst gatari hierarchry I've seen on /a/
What a faggot
you lost me after a couple lines.
Now the first thing I should say about Hanekawa and Gaen are that they both seem to be somewhat clairvoyant. I believe Gaen has achieved next to true clairvoyance if not full on clairvoyance. This is implied many times throughout season 2 and she even says herself "I know everything." The Gaen family in general seems to have a bit of this considering that even Kanbaru has had moments where she states knowledge that she shouldn't know, but that is somewhat irrelevant to what I'm trying to get at so I'll move on. Gaen and Hanekawa's relationship is somewhat foggier due to the fact that even Hanekawa probably didn't realize this was the case. Although at the end of season 2 she could have figured it out but she didn't really have enough screen time or importance in Koimonogatari. So first off it's stated that if Hanekawa gets a question wrong on a test it's the test that was wrong. She also gives Araragi blatant hints on how to deal with a situation. All throughout the series she seems to have more than just the knowledge that can be obtained through normal methods. And in Nekomonogatari black the sawari-neko seems to realize that her mind isn't a normal one and uses that to defeat Oshino 20+ times over. Later that is proven by the fact that she merges with the sawari-neko to form Black Hanekawa. No normal person should be able to accept an oddity let alone conquer an oddity through thought. The whole premise of nekomono black and nekomono white is that Hanekawa is confident with her "white" or pure side that she expresses every day of her life but fails to accept the darker side of her own personality and knowledge.
Based Nisio Isin, bending the story to give HanaKana the chance to voice an evil character
Well fuck me I guess I lost this pissing contest. I'm blaming my phone's autocorrect.
Even if she was somewhat clairvoyant the trick behind being clairvoyant is having knowledge of all; This would include both the light and dark sides of knowledge. I believe that when she shows up later on in season two with her hair striped black and white it means that she has understood that there are darker sides to her own personality and she has truly become one with Black Hanekawa. She also seems to be more confident of a person than she was, probably a result of having accepted and finally come to an understanding of who she is. The main reason I make the apprentice-teacher pairing with these two is that Hanekawa is obviously not full on clairvoyant, but being Gaen's successor/apprentice would imply that she still has work to do in becoming clairvoyant. Gaen will eventually have to pass her position on as she is not immortal. Hanekawa's token line "I don't know everything, I just know what I know" is a subset of Gaen's "I know everything". I believe that Gaen says this to Hanekawa to basically tell her that true clairvoyance is possible. Kind of like a teacher setting a bar that you want to break. Before you say "how is it possible for someone to be a teacher and someone else to be an apprentice if they barely ever converse. Well if Gaen is clairvoyant she can have a major impact on what goes on in Hanekawa's life without directly talking to her. We can see that she is capable of effecting things like this because she does it all the fucking time throughout the series. One last thing that I am not so sure about but it could be true is that Hanekawa is related to the Gaen family in some manner. We don't know who her real parents are and referring to my earlier tidbit about Suruga having slight clairvoyance meaning that the trait could run in the family could be applied to Hanekawa's situation.
I could care less if you don't read it but there is a staggering lack of content in Bakemono threads and there is actually a lot to talk about
Not really evil. Just really angry, and stupid.
Girl was really stupid.
It was already foreshadowed in Nisemonogatari.
Who are doll and bat and who the fuck is dark.
Why is Sail_ so based?
sail best girl
>devolves immediately into shipping bullshit
Fuck me and my n's.
You guys all fighting to be the second best?
Because we know who the best Nisio Isin girl is.
Kaiki only appeals to faggots and edgy teens.
as dead as hachikuji
Finish the show
>not saving it by saying "sorry I bit my tongue"
wow man, you would make snail ashamed
He actually asked her what she would like to do and she told him she always wanted to voice an evil character.
I don't know who the fuck those people are.
Doll may be the "poised look" whore, now that I think about it.
And Dark is apparently the weird ass looking girl with the eyes.
Who is bat then?
Only edgy teenagers think that's true.
Kaiki is pretty good in his book.
If only my fucking keyboard worked better. I would be less focused on it's mistakes and more focused on being clever.
Yep, it's totally about shipping, way to give it away that you barely read through any of it
I would give a lot of money for the series to turn full on ecchi. Not even hentai, just explicit ecchi. The blueballed reactions of everyone would be pretty cool.
Too long, didn't read
Also you suck and I bet it's stupid
Well you're entitled to your opinions on things you haven't even read.
Like Christians and the bible.
I figured my only quoting one of your walls of text implied that I only bothered with that one. Because it devolved into shipping bullshit. Maybe the other two are better, but I don't feel like giving you the benefit of a doubt.
If you want to know, his theory is common knowledge and not really unique.
Well that's actually a good thing and means that people are actually paying attention to the little details of the series rather than just the size of hanekawa's tits. I've never seen anything posted here or anywhere else about it so I thought I would throw it out there
Because this is 4chan, and /a/ to boot. If you want deep meanigful discussion of something go somewhere else.
Edgy Teens have too many
To like Kaiki, who explicitly states that relationships and dwelling on the past have no inherent value
Initially why I decided to post this was because of the lack of actual discussion. And everywhere else is just as bad if not worse.
I don't know if you actually go to these threads a lot or if you don't. There's actually some nice discussion going on in some of these threads, but it gets hard when there's not much to talk about. The only thing that I would say that I haven't heard was Senjougahara being the apprentice to Kaiki. That's something new and interesting. I don't agree with it at all because it seems to not take into account her personality in the LN.
Shipping bullshit /= teacher apprentice relationships. Trust me I could care less if it was the other way around or something but it's hard not to take notice of the the things I posted and not come to a similar conclusion. If it was shipping bullshit it would sound like this.
ShinobuxAraragi is sooooo much better a match than araragi and senjougahara. They basically are with each other forever. I don't even know why araragi bothers with senjougahara.
If you can't see the difference in what I was talking about and shipping bullshit then I don't know what you should be doing.
>I could care less
Well, I'm glad you care so much.
>you're waifu will never publish a manga you can actually buy
>When Kaiki realizes that Senjougahara had slipped the letter under his hotel room door he also realized that he had been duped by his own underling.
Except that wasn't actually her, was it? I thought it was that one cursed kid. I need to rewatch the episode.
You ended your first post on the whole "Hitagi/Kaiki had a romantic relationship" thing that shippingfags like to use (and frankly I think is silly) so I assumed your other posts were going to continue in that direction. Despite what I said earlier I actually did give you a benefit of a doubt and read through the rest of your posts. You make a lot of good points (though some of them have been discussed before) and I wouldn't be surprised if that is what Nisio was going for. So pretty much I made a fool of myself by jumping to conclusions. Sorry, anon.
Well I try to join the threads when they are up, but I don't see too many Monogatari threads in general. Maybe I'm just on at the wrong times.
The only reason I think the Kaiki Senjougahara thing to be true is due to their relationship in season 2. Even though you can tell that Senjougahara legitimately hates Kaiki for all that he has done to her in the past she still talks to him even after discussing business related things several times. Knowing Senjougahara's personality she probably would avoid all contact with him if there wasn't some sort of underlying relationship even at a very small scale. The reason I hesitated to use the word apprentice in this case was because most of the time an apprentice looks up to his teacher along with learning things from them. But who's to say that you can't hate someone and still learn things from them. Their styles of gathering information and manipulating people are just way too similar to pass over without having a second look. I'm reading Kizumono right now but I plan on reading most of the other books afterwards and I hope that will either reinforce or totally debunk my theory.
Feels good man. I should get a second copy for the collection and one for reading.
I hope we just leave everything behind and the next season is about Oshino, Kaiki, Gaen, and Kaganui in college.
Let me ask you something. Do you think Senjougahara has the same personality she had in Bake, Nise, and 2nd Series?
I kinda figured she only went to Kaiki as a last resort because she was at her wit's end and didn't want Koyomi (and herself) to die. It seemed like it was just meant to show how desperate she was since she supposedly hates him.
So... do you consider that stuff with her becoming god just a thing of the past?
They still have a lot more LN to adapt first
>next season is about Oshino, Kaiki, Gaen, and Kaganui in college
Yeah, it's in the past, she's happier as a manga artist. It's not like she wanted to become a God.
Yeah, this is the part that through me off. I misread the first time.
I never said anything about them having a romantic relationship at all. I said they had a relationship in general and that could've been really anything considering we don't have much information on the whole thing. Chances are it wasn't romantic at all and if what I was talking about is even somewhat true then he probably taught her something about how lying is the most efficient way to go about doing a lot of things or some sort of lesson more like Araragi and Oshino's relationship. But no worries, I can see where the first post ended on a somewhat abrupt note and people could get a little confused.
I don't even know why I'm replying to this, but I will anyways. I said I could care less about who it was meaning that if senjougahara was gaens apprentice or everything was swapped around in some other order I could care less. I was attempting to portray that my feelings about each character had nothing to do with what I was talking about and that it was just analysis of the facts given to us in the show.
Shinbo: Someday I hope to see Kaiki as a student. What happened when he was a student and was with Oshino Meme Kagenui and Izuru. I'm really curious why.
Nisio: After finishing the Final Season gives me to write the episode zero (laughs). I do not know right now. If you see right even counting the Second Season is weird. If you see the side of anime now would be the fourth season (laughs).
Based HanaKana for inspiring him to write such a story in the first place.
>I could care less.
I hope you and your waifu can live happily ever after. and I hope she can let go of Araragi
No, not at all. She has a lot of the same traits as in earlier seasons but she has obviously changed her view about other people. She has becomes actual friends with Hanekawa who is the first person besides Araragi that she really talks to as a friend after her whole ordeal with the crab and her family.
I'm going to be late for an interview if I don't leave for it right now, but I should be back in about and hour or so. So if you wanna keep talking just try and keep this thread alive for the time being.
I think it's a combination of her changing (remember she was supposed to be pretty sociable before she got sick) as well as the perceotions of the various narrators influencing how we see her. It'll be interesting if we finally get a story narrated by her.
He could be mistaken, you know.
Shinobu a dead
All the rest
Monkey>Snake>Phoenix>Bee>can give less fucks about Cat, Snail, and Doll
Thank you, anon. I'm sure she will, it was just a phase.
>getting NTR'd by Ararararagi
Shitposters gonna shitpost. Just ignore him.
But shes really nice dubs
Snail> Crab> Bat> Snake>Cat(short hair version or BH)>Monkey> Bee> Pheonix> Doll
But as its been said all great.
The only reason you like her is because of her "we can fuck like wild animals anytime you want"-attitude and sex appeal. That's the only thing she has going for her.
Wonder where my Snakebros at. There were so many when the anime aired and now again alone. Even that tripfag who tried to make daily threads died.
I'm still here anon, not much to talk about anymore
honestly I just didn't like how they finished her character in the show, making her just give up her godhood because she wants to draw manga felt a little silly, why couldn't she do both? why couldn't she kill araragi and draw?
There's also the fact that she's a know-it-all meganekko
If there was a story narrated by Senjougahara I think it would be one of the best arcs in the series. And it would also answer a ton of questions.
Because Araragi is MC, and Kaiki a suave motherfucker and Snake a shit.
Seriously, what else would you expect from a shit?
I would much prefer a big fight between snake and all the good guys
kanbaru with her monkey paw, black hanakawa, shinobu, araragi with the sword, corpse with her unlimited rulebook, all joining together to fight super god nadeko would be great
And only Nadeko would remain. Hanamonogatari would be terrible
Did you not read Kizu? Don't let the anime missing stuff fool you, Cat is and was as kind and intelligent as Araragi praises her for. So many bro moments were missed, but there is a reason besides owing her and thinking she is sexy that he hangs with Hanekawa.
No offence, but you are fucking stupid or just underage.
>The only reason you like her is because of her "we can fuck like wild animals anytime you want"-attitude and sex appeal. That's the only thing she has going for her.
Actually, I like her because I have a massive, throbbing white knight fetish.
Only one who would stand a chance against Snake would be Shinobu, and she would need to power up a whole lot to stand a chance. Araragi would never want to hurt Snake anyway.
>it was just a phase.
Here is a man who understands.
But she said herself that she never wanted to a be a god. I think it was a good ending, no need to write every detail of her life till she's old.
>Anything but complete and utter shit
Fuck Ougi and fuck you. Go die in a fire, faggot.
Araragi is such a faggot that even I want him dead. Pretty sure any teenager gets over his first crush.
It's a shame Ai o Utae wasn't used as the medusa arc ending theme as a part of some really obscure meta humor.
>So many bro moments were missed
You mean like her handing him her panties?
Monkey > Bee > Snail > Crab > Bat > Bird > Cat > Snake
Get it right man
Nadeko kills everyone, then becomes a famous mangaka, the end. I like it.
No need to be Kana is in fucking everything now, watch nisekoi for a less annoying brown haired little girl
No, I mean the great inspirational speeches she gives him, as well as the cool tactical advice she gives. And the actual brofist they share, which coincidentally, was after she cheered him up with the panties. Which made it extra awesome.
I liked their impromptu Coca-Cola plug.
The only good zenbu remix. Maybe when they release the full version there will be more.
So is Kanbaru a lesbian or not? It seems like she's attracted to Ararararagi and she even says shes open to having sex with him.
Most people assume bi
Won't let this thread die so easily
Kanbaru having sex with Araragi would be more akin to her acting out a BL fantasy (she's into Yaoi) than being straight.
Man, Kanbaru was so insignificant in the second season, is she going to get any more attention in anything coming up soon?
did you cry /a/?
I don't think I have ever cried while watching anime.
Then I watched this, the music started playing, and I cried like a baby fuck
Your snakewaifu a shit.
I honestly felt that the kiss was kind of out of place.
Good question, when is the full song coming out? I remember really liking it.
178 replies later...
We can't really be the only ones who want it, right?
Seems like it bud. I'd also like to know when the full songs of the other OPs come out.
It's a shame I didn't pick up the series before the second season ended, it seems as if there aren't too many threads up discussing it that often.
Then again, I'm sure the series has already been discussed to death
No, she's perfection. Everything I ever wanted.
Somewhere towards the end of February. Probably with some BD.
She was significant in the novels. They skipped her arc because they couldn't fit it into this season. I believe that they want to animate it, I just don't know when.
It's called suruga devil. Remember in monogatari second season when hanekawa meets that vampire dude and Gaen. I haven't read the novels, but I'm 99% sure that suruga devil is the reason they were in town.
>I believe that they want to animate it, I just don't know when.
How about you google it then, nigger
Ahh shit seriously? They skipped Kanbaru, that sucks.Guess I'll go read the novels on baka-tsuki or something.
Well I don't care enough and I'm not going to google it for someone else.
Get your wallet ready.
What is this even about?
I don't know, waiting for them to ship it it to me.
can you even read moon
See, that's the thing. The cursed kid is made up.
Cat second best nigga, only bad girl is snake.
I hate snake but she has the best OP
Nadeko art, Interview between Nisio and Chica Umino, Nadeko's manga from the anime and some other stuff.
On a basic level. This will give me even more motivation to study.
what if araragi was suddenly replaced by GUTS?
Not acting on your destructive impulses is simply a part of growing up.
Contrary to what /a/ will tell you, Snake's not a bitch. She was just way too young and vulnerable to handle the powers of a god responsibly.
Take Shinobu for instance. She acts arrogant but in an alternate world where Araragi didn't coddle her, she destroyed everything--and she's been around for more lifetimes than I can count on my fingers and toes. Girl needs to grow up already.
Could someone summarize?
Seems pretty cool, I'd buy it if I wasn't a poorfag
better than me, good on you for taking initiative
Manga are usually pretty easy to read and are a good way to study. Just make sure that you actually attempt to figure out the translation rather than just guessing at the words you don't know. If you read through a manga and keep a japanese to english dictionary by you try to actually translate what you don't know.
Hanakawa and Gaen are mental superhumans who don't need to be face-to-face to have that sort of relationship. It's kind of cool.
Tsukihi kiss scene in season 3
Nope, almost cried while reading kizu though.
>Mfw ogui had a point and balance is important
>Mfw I hate ougi
I'm a poorfag too, but for Nadeko I still bought it.
>Araragi is Oshino's 'apprentice'. Well I believe Senjougahara to be Kaiki's 'apprentice' along with Hanekawa being Gaen's 'apprentice'.
I wish she would have drew it instead of whoever is doing it.
I've only seen bakemonogatari. Why does everyone hate snake? Her op was best.
Thank you for advice, also one of the reasons I bought it. And the fact that it's her will multiply my motivation to read it and understand it.
I thought it was in Nise
I wouldn't say that, but I do know something to compare it to. Though it's considered taboo on /a/.
Are you shitting me anon? Do yourself a favor and just marathon it now. You'll get character development so far up the ass it will come out of your mouth.
She was the blandest character in the show. Only one who does even less is the mute vampire who they purposefully avoid telling the whole story about.
batfags hate snake and sadly they are the majority
catfags hate crabfags
batfags hate everyone
crabfags hate everyone
snakefags hate batfags
moneybros a best
I'm batfag and I like all of them.
Don't understand what you mean
I do like money.
The first thing I plan on doing once I can is to buy the physical copy and read bakemono. I don't expect to understand half of it even after I finish my fourth year of Japanese, but I should be fine as long as I have a dictionary. Light novels are much harder to read than manga.
The most telling things about Oshino making Araragi an apprentice actually comes from Kizu and Nise.
>In Kizu, Araragi thinking Oshino is walking over him like a mentor in a shounen manga.
>Oshino mentioning that Araragi would make a good specialist.
>Shinobu mentioning in the bath that Oshino made her listen non-stop to stories about kaii. The story intentionally deflects attention away from why he did that, because it's obvious to indirectly teach Araragi about them.
The real question is that, if Oshino's intention was to create an immortal Araragi-Shinobu super-Specialist duo, when he got the plan to do so and to what end. He obviously has supernatural prediction and perception to be able to detect Araragi changing history 10 years before they ever meet, meaning it's not far-fetched that he teamed those two up for a very specific purpose.
The other question is who Kagenui's apprentice would be, because everyone knows Kagenui is the second coolest specialist.
I was the one who wrote that whole thing and the quick synopsis is that not only is araragi oshino's apprentice, but that Senjougahara is Kaiki's and Hanekawa Gaen's.
I didn't want to TL;DR it because knowing /a/ half of the people would toss the theory right out the window without thinking a second thought. If you read my whole post it starts to make sense and even if you disagree I would like to hear reasons as to why and examples in order to debunk or reinforce the theory.
Thank you for pointing out that I pretty much already summarized it in the intro
Anyone have the Amazon page for the magazine with Nadeko's manga? I can't find it.
Yeah, I heard Nisio's novels are a bitch to read/TL, good luck at that. It's too early for me to go that far.
Forget about Bakemono. Someone needs to translate what the fuck happens in Shinobu Mail.
I only really hated Crab, but in the context that she's supposed to ultimately end her relationship with Araragi she suddenly becomes a pretty good character. Suddenly the dullness of their relationship and her utter lack of relevancy actually makes sense.
It's really time for her to step aside for best girl though.
As to your thing about Oshino creating the duo-specialists I also think that was his intention from the beginning. I don't know a whole ton about Oshino's abilities as a specialist other than what was portrayed in the anime so I can't really elaborate there.
But as far as Kagenui's apprentice goes I really want to say it's Ononoki just due to their portrayed relationship. But there isn't enough info at least in the anime about Kagenui or Ononoki to draw a firm conclusion. Anyone who read the novels know more about ononoki and kagenui?
Well yeah it's probably Ononoki. Ononoki is also probably Kagenui's dead imouto. The problem is it's such a mundane answer that it's disappointing, which may or may not be fitting since Kagenui is the "straight and narrow" specialist.
That said, I think Ononoki and Kagenui actually have a bit of an interesting implied relationship. Ononoki feels some type of distance from Kagenui and is quite clearly bitter about it, on the other hand if Ononoki is really her imouto Kagenui loves her very much.
If i had the ability to translate light novels and write them in a way that still portrays the original style and wording I totally would. And I vow to /a/ that if I have the ability to translate any future/untranslated novels of the monogatari series I will. If it takes Nisio another couple years to finish the novels then this might actually be a reality
I don't need the original style and wording. I just need to know what happens. If someone is going to be crowned the winner of Monogatari it's extremely likely that Shinobu Mail is the novel that does it.
some spoilers already posted
Yeah, it would be pretty interesting to see more of their relationship. And it kind of does make sense that she would be her apprentice as Kagenui is definitely the 'to the point' kind of specialist. And as far as it being a mundane answer I agree, but if what I was talking about with kaiki/senjougahara and gaen/hanekawa is true then I wouldn't really expect nisio to have even more implied relationships. It makes quite a bit of sense to at least have one or two obvious teacher/apprentice relationships otherwise the idea might be a little to farfetched.
I wonder where's the anon in charge of these threads
Where the fuck is the DL
That wording is familiar. Is that the moonrune spoiler that was posted in an earlier thread or did Anon really read it?
>Shinobu basically chose to be with Araragi and Ararargi chose to be with Shinobu
>They also replicated the kiss scene in bake with saying "I love you" to each other. Arararagi and Hitagi.
So it's status quo to the very end? God damn it Nisio.
I was here form the beginning, but I didn't make this thread. As for the tripfag, who made threads with that picture he was seen last time 3 days ago, he doesn't post a lot these days.
That novel wasn't going to clear anything up regarding that since it was set before Koi/Otori/Hana in the timeline.
That's one of the problems with bakemono threads. As far as I know no single anon is responsible for starting them and that's why they are both inconsistent and sometimes rare.
I just try to join in and post when they are up.
I WANT TO INTRODUCE MY AMERICAN FRIEND TO MONOGATARI.
Are there any "mainstream" American shows I can compare it with?
No? What kind of question is that?
I suppose, but with the degree of timeline and perspective switching that Nisio does it's not like he couldn't sneak something in, especially because all three of those are narrated by other characters and Shinobu and Araragi's relationship being largely secret.
A fairly valid one. I compared Cowboy Bebop (I know Bebop was first, back off) to Firefly and that's why he watched it and loved it.
If I can draw him in with something he's familiar with, and that he already likes it'll be easier to get him to watch the series.
I guess Veronica Mars or something.
I shouldn't have to explain to you that Bebop has heavy western influence, and that Bakemonogatari has...
Well, it's a supernatural character drama slash harem interspersed with Japanese wordplay comedy and done in an incredibly abstracted and minimalist style.
Does he even know what kanji is?
You'd have to be a massive weeb to enjoy Monogatari since it has so many Jap wordplay thingies.
Bebop is much more straightforward.
Not really, its has a ton of other aspects that stand out as very well done. The soundtrack, the art style, the use of symbolism, and the underlying implied plot are just several examples.
Just skip the first 25 seconds of episode 1 of bakemono and the introduction will probably interest him. If he doesn't like the intro that is just a shortened Kizumono then he probably won't like the series.
idk if you are still here anon, but i recommended bakemonogatari to a friend, tell'd him that it was a 2deep4you animuh, and he had to pay attention to everything. I told him that it was about serious relationships, but disguised as an anime. Sorry for shitty english
I showed my friend it. He had only watched Bobobo and Dead Leaves up to that point.
He enjoyed it a lot, but I had to give him an idea about Jap culutre and the wordplay.
I think it would be better for someone with some knowledge about anime and stuff, because my friend was confused with all the Incest and pedophilia.
I only liked Snake when she was Hebikami-chan and Kaiki's true waifu.
If you connect something with the kanji for kami you pronounce it gami. So it would be Hebigami. Just thought I would let you know.
I can't wait to see 10 and 12-year-old Shinobu in Kizu.
Thank you, good samaritan.
Just realized I bought a figma figure of this chick without knowing who she was. I just thought the figma looked cool, and it does.
Karen is a better waifu for Karen.
Whoops, I mean Karen is a better waifu for Kaiki.
You must have a lot of money
Give it some time /a/nons
I'm waiting as well
how does it feel to live a lie?
