Let's have a nice, non-autistic SciAdv thread.
There's some news about Chaos;Child, looks like it's almost direct sequel to C;H.
There's new mysterious death incidents in Shibuya that are similar to 5 years ago. Only difference is that there's strange sumo-seals left to the scenes.
Delusion trigger makes comeback and you can choose from positive/negative like in C;H.
New thing is trigger mapping for organizing information. Photos are attached to map of Shibuya, changes occur in the story by organizing information of the incident.
I got the S;G art book, imaginations of Huke, from a friend. Whilst I'm not taking apart my book from the spine I've got a few phone shots in case anyone's missing anything and would at least like a reference for finding actual scans later.
Plus: how many of the S;G spin offs are still alive? There's the 4koma and a few others, though the only thing that seems to have gotten a recent update is the "Okarin failed to save Kurisu the first time and never went back a second time" what if manga. That's backed up by some of the art in my book; is that the only live manga, or are translators just being lazy?
Babel and movie manga just got new volumes released if that's what you mean.
Oh sweet, I haven't had a chance to check recently. Looking forward to it now.
Have another skewed image.
Guess there's not much to say beyond it's good and wish there was more.
>why did Suzuha-chest have to be right in the spine?
Now this is interesting stuff. Where's the info from?
I'm sure that i had that image but can't find it anywhere, seen it posted 100 times here.
Thanks for that image! I would dump stuff in return, but I'm in a rush. If this topic is still around after my class, I'll do it.
Babel is still ongoing?
I thought the story was pretty short?
I should reverse google search all these shots I've taken.
That's from Epigraph LN, right?
It recently ended at 4 volumes, it seems they sdded A LOT of new stuff.
Ah, I took the shot out of the aforementioned art book; however that's not to say it isn't in that LN as well. I haven't the source information to confirm that though.
Not really surprising to have it both in artbook and LN though.
Mind to post more?
>get a email from Amazon about the R;N localized BD
>"oh that's cool-"
>$60 for part 1
>and pic related
Fuck you, Funimation.
It doesn't have original soundtrack?
I bet that's a mistake, but Funi subs are shit anyone.
Here you go. Enjoy, /a/non-kun.
/a/ SciAdv fanbase is pretty nice
Thanks, my heart just came out of my pants. Dokidoki.
Goodness, look at the clock.
It's Suzuha time.
Nicknames like this are going to be annoying considering we have a Takumi and a Takuru.
These character post cards are nice, but if this screenshot from Amazon is any indication, then no.
Which is weird, I remember when the first vol. of Gundam 00 got localized when I saw it in Best Buy, it had the OST.
The nickname being the same is intentional. And Shogun is what makes things annoying.
You mean two Takumis.
I believe the cards are the other blu-ray covers. Wish they did that for s;g too instead of mixing up the covers and putting the stupid filter over it.
I'm glad I didn't pick up the S;G BD's then. There were a couple of times I was tempted to buy them.
However, I'm curious about J. Michael Tatum's performance as Okabe.
I'm really disappointed by the lack of a Nae card.
Tatum's performance was fine (although you can't beat Miyano), but Tatum was the scriptwriter for the dub and that was not so good.
Suzuha time? That's my favorite time!
However, let's not derail the thread.
I wonder what is behind that decision, it's bit weird.
To make a connection between this and Chaos;Head, of course. There may or may not be a deeper meaning, we'll have to wait for the VN itself.
And I'm back!
It seems odd because Takuru identifies (or at least thinks of himself) as a normalfag.
It's like he's the anti-Takumi.
He's the president of the newspaper club, and that's probably why he's investigating the new-new-gen incidents and their connection to the old-new-gen incidents.
Whereas I can't see Takumi even joining a club or doing anything proactively on his own without being forced.
>Whose nickname is that nickname?
>Whose eyes are those eyes?
>Half Life 3 confirmed
>He's the president of the newspaper club, and that's probably why he's investigating the new-new-gen incidents and their connection to the old-new-gen incidents.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.
And here's a new piece from pixiv!
What if Taku has become "Shogun" and Takuru is the 3rd version of him.
It's a mirror of Kozu-pii's self.
The negative white space between the sumo seals in the background make it look like she's wetting herself.
But it's white so...
Kozupii's in her 20's now.
She's too retarded to be "mystery girl" anyway.
I find it sad that we have to resort to using "let's have a nice non-autistic sciadv thread" line. Has Steins;Gate and the rest of the SciADV series become so hated on /a/ as much as that other shitty anime with ninjas?
No, it's just that these threads attract the SciADV people rather than just the Steins;Gate people. The last few good threads actually started with Steins;Gate posts though.
It's sucks for me since usually when I come in on /a/ it's mostly threads bashing s;g and rarely the other 2 sciadv. Being a Steins;Gate fan is suffering...
No, S;G attracts much less shitposters now than it used to, "non-autistic" thread is tradition of a sorts.
The text boxes are so trippy. I like how the name tags look like the title cards from Steins;Gate.
Yeah, now that you mention it, I wonder how it'll look when the text box is full. It'll be weird if is comes out of the sides.
Where's my R;N fandisk, i want a date with Akiho, Nae and Mizuka.
I'm betting next year.
Sorry anon, I fell asleep, I'll post some more stuff in the vague likelihood you're still up to see it.
You sir, are a scholar and gentleman. Operation: "post photos for scans" is a raging success so far.
So is the Robotic;Notes any good? Wish I could read the VN, but 360 exclusive, never to get translated.
Apparently the story of the VN is good, but it has really shitty pacing. The anime was a subpar adaptation, but I still liked it.
Not that anon; but when I get, and finish, the S;G VN I might have a go at C;H and R;N anime, not without a shit tonne of apprehension however.
It's also PS3 and Vita version coming.
Possibly portable version coming since they have been porting vn to ios and android lately.
Thanks for letting me know. I'm sure I'll enjoy it, I just wanted to make sure I kept my expectations in check.
I saw lots of people say they disliked it, but most of them were just Steins;Gate fans who were buttmad that the show wasn't just a sequel to Steins;Gate and wasn't a thriller or horror like other SciADV entries.
Stay away from the Chaos;Head anime at all costs. It's a horrible adaptation.
Robotics;Notes was on the PS3 to begin with.
I have heard that, maybe I'll just try and find a way to play the VN.
It's not that hard, there's been a translation out since 2008. Not the best translation and it is kinda buggy, but it's still very much doable.
Yeah, it didn't look too hard, the issue is I need to reformat my PC due to some supposed botnet, and I've been too lazy to do anything about it.
>looking forward to doing all of Chp. 7 in one go.
iPad mini's ain't gunna play a VN. It'd be cool if they did however.
Steins;Gate does have an iOS port. It's cool how when you play it on an iPhone, you turn your phone sideways to bring up Okabe's phone.
Oh, that is pretty sweet, it's fun when they actually think about what goddamn platform they're porting to and figure out how to work with it rather than around it.
I've already splurged on the JAST release however, I'm a slut for limited edition things and I had to have those pins.
Now if only Robotics;Notes had a WiiU port where the gamepad constantly emulated Kaito's pokecom.
I have noah on my android device, maybe someday even have time to watch it. At least the free chapter.
I wish I could read moon, but I have neither the time nor the patience.
The iOS port isn't translated anyway.
I really aught to learn moon. Guess I'll just continue my lessons via anime.
Are there any rumours on when JAST's releasing the VN?
It'll take atleast 3 months for full translation, since Sci/Adv stuff is popular.
But if it gets bought by some USA company like ATLUS we are screwed.
The hell are you talking about?
>Index Digital Media, Inc
shoot me if it's wrong, but didn't they say they just take Steiner's work and edit it?
Should be done much quicker, I know someone editing english to english, and that whole script should be done in 4 weeks.
Also they bought S;G from him much earlier, they should be done with the real work by now. Only publishing, printing, getting asians to pack the boxes etc. left.
Blick was the one who translated the scripts.
And JAST didn't buy the translation, it's more like a commission. They haven't been paid yet, and they stuck around to work on it some more.
A lot of the work was fixing the engine so that it wouldn't be as buggy as the original PC port was, and so that it would work out of the box without the usual fiddling with language settings. There was also a lot of back and forth with 5pb./Nitroplus to approve changes to the engine, and to make sure certain terms were spelled correctly.
oh right, he did it with some WhyNot-Guys, I forgot.
Steiner was the only WhyNot-related guy on the team.
shit, why do I even try to talk about this. I'm drunk.
Well now you know that much more.
thanks man, have my favorite Suzu pic.
Ahh, cheers, I wasn't sure if it was the 1st or 31st, thanks for clearing that up.
Last update I saw they were printing off the boxes and the pins were finished, and I think that was just before New Years. Probably the only thing stopping them releasing right now is getting all the limited ed stuff done.
Anyone toyed with android noah game files, any way to open these .sdt and .src files?
you seem like a good guy so here's a moral question:
I already bought the VN on PSP, Darling on PSP and Phenogram for the PS3, should I also buy the JAST-Edition?
Thing is, I also bought the pins from Japan when I was there anyways.
If you buy the JAST edition then you might help bring more SciADV titles to the west. Go on, be a good goy.
But I am ready to pay import fees and already know japanese, and want things earlier.
Look, if you want it for completeness, I wouldn't hold it against you, plus you're putting money into JAST's pocket and if this sells well enough they might be tempted to put out more stuff, as well as being incentivised towards higher quality limited releases too.
The VN comes with an art book as well; but I honestly doubt there's anything in there that's not already been scanned and uploaded before; unless they've commissioned new stuff, which'd be cool. Not to mention the general high quality of Japanese art books.
I bought it because I like the series, haven't had a chance to play the VN and wanted the extras. In your case, are you really getting anything out of it? It'd be nice to see sitting on the shelf with it's cool retro computer game box, (I miss those). It's your money man.
yeah, that's kinda what I thought as well.
Plus, I'm pretty sure I own said Artbook... I was in Akihabara for all of 2011/12, and once more in 2013 since I wanted to meet some friends and take back ~15kgs of Manga and merch.
This was BEFORE my 2nd trip even.
This is actually a depressingly valid point.
With Noah and R;N being console-only, there's little chance we'll see fan translation projects pop up.
Nagato was working on a port of Noah back in 2009, but it seems it was dropped a while ago.
;_; I'm slightly jealous, of both your stay in Japan and all your goods. I mean, I've got a friend over there who can send me stuff, but you know, you don't want to take advantage of a person's kindness.
I'm guessing you're totally proficient in moon then?
I guess if JAST makes cash hand over fist with this release, common sense would tell them to check out the rest of the titles in the series.
Can anyone read these moon runes? There were a few short blurbs in that art book.
When I was given the opportunity to work on Steins;Gate, 5pb. had contacted me during a time of concern for me right after I had discontinued work on another certain something. I was very thankful for that opportunity, but it was in a genre that I had very little to do with, so I was a little anxious that maybe I wasn't going to be of any use, so I consulted 5pb. for advice. It's really embarrassing now that I think about it, but I think this is an important piece of work that I really grew from. Since the day it went on sale, to now, and even after several more years of drawing, I'll be happy with my illustrations for Steins;Gate.
