Anyone else think a Legend Of Zelda anime could be pretty sweet?
Could be, but who would be the MC?
Imagine him going HYAAH
Link, obviously. I think it would be pretty cool (and ballsy) to have a silent protagonist in an anime. It's definitely possible, albeit difficult to pull off well.

Well excuse me, Princess.
We do not speak of such abominations.
Seriously though, if it got picked up by a competent studio who are familiar with the source material, it could be awesome.
Only if it gets the treatment it deserves.
Yeah, but only if they use Wind Waker's art style.
ALBW was fun as fuck, SS was shit.
Silent protagonist could work I guess, since we are getting JoJo pt3 which has a protagonist with the communication skills of a potato.
I would prefer some funny smash brothers ova's.
Not really, no. The games have a pretty boring story progression. Without the gameplay, it would just be a mediocre shonen.
>The games have a pretty boring story progression.
That's because they're games. Maybe if they switched it up a bit and made the story more mature and graphic (Berserk?) they could do more with it.
Imagine this, and bear with me, I'm a shitty writer. Link's a silent protagonist right? But that doesn't mean he doesn't have thoughts or feelings. What if the story is about Link's mental state, going from normal Hylian farm boy to cold blooded murderer.
please god do not make it twilight princess based though
this guy knows
forgot to mention, his mental state would be displayed through his actions and facial expressions, which would only work if its by a skilled studio.
>What if the story is about Link's mental state, going from normal Hylian farm boy to cold blooded murderer.
Stopped reading there.
You stopped reading at the last sentence? You're an idiot.
No OP, that seems like a fucking terrible idea. I'd rather watch an anime about a more expressive character, like Donkey Kong.
None of this shit in a Zelda setting please kthxbai
>that's because they're games
That's not an excuse, Okami had similar gameplay but it's story progression was ten times better than "go here, get x, use item you got there to go here, get y".
There wouldn't really be an effective way to get across the spirit of the games in a pure video format. If it happens, I'm all for it, but I doubt it will.
Ok I'll admit the edgy stuff was a pretty terrible idea but I still think a Zelda anime could be done well but hopefully it's done by someone with better ideas than me
This, donkey dong feature length ovas
>There wouldn't really be an effective way to get across the spirit of the games in a pure video format.
Studio Ghibli could do it. Their films are very reminiscent of the spirit of a Zelda game.
>implying Link isn't expressive
