>Manganewsjapon reports that Beelzebub is entering its final battle arc
I still call bullshit on the source (can't post the link w/o 4chan thinking its spam) but if it is true then fuck. I just wanted my old Beelzebub back. You know when it was all about comedy and not lame ass power ups and battles. It's almost becoming as terribad as Ao no Exorcist.
>It's almost becoming as terribad as Ao no Exorcist
But Ao no Exorcist IS getting better, anon. We finally got an arc for best girl.
really? Did it stop being fujoshit bait? I dropped it around the part where they did that bullshit arc with the giant flame monster at that one guy's home village...
Beelzebub is pretty consistent. I don't think any battles were ever really played all that straight even recently- though I haven't kept up for a couple months.
And the comedy- I don't know it feels about the same? I mean the constant smack down and delinquent/school life comedy got a bit old early on and I think that's why they moved away from it a bit, but at its core its still all about stupid character-based gags. Maybe it's because I never really found it more than mildly entertaining on average that it all feels the same to me though.
Just skip that arc until you see Beach episode.
its widely agreed by fans of the manga since the beginning that Tamura's strong suit isn't the battles in Beelzebub but rather the comedy writing. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the Pillar Squad and Tissue Arc but after awhile you get to see how bland Tamura writes off fights in his manga. We barely got to see other people's powers like with Akaboshi, the Isayama Saints or Bethemoth and most fans just want to see the old comedy routines between Oga and the gang not some forced mellow drama in a COMEDY/ACTION manga!
You niggers realize that as retarded as it is, all of Beelzebub's battles have been PARODIES right?
For example, the Behemoth arc basically builds up the pillar squad as this unprecedented enemy, and Ishiyma goes through a traditional shonen battle manga training arc.
What happens? Oga says fuck it and nearly resolves the entire thing by himself rendering those power ups for the side characters near useless if not useless.
That said, it's still boring as fuck even if you notice it, but the series is mostly intentional with what it's doing, even if most of you don't get it, and almost everyone doesn't find it funny.
It's basically trying to be all One Piece, except it forgot to use the parodies and referencing as a side dish. That's what battle arcs are in Beelzebub. Pure 100% PARODY.
I also call bullshit on the fact that they know it for sure but sadly it's pretty likely to happen.
>Satan Arc is rushed as fuck
>Fight gets to a whole new level
>Jump announces 4 new series
The biggest bullshit is having Furuichi and lamias mom fighting Fuji and holding their own and we don't get to see it. Its be a 100 times funnier and more interesting than the usual satanxoga fight
it means a Furuichi spin off is being made
I fell behind when they went on that field trip. Did Athrun come back?
doy ou need source for taht? it was implied long time ago that is geting axed, you can note how rushed last months chapter were, it would be likely end in the next month
Well, rushed battle arcs aren't something new for beelze.
Maybe Tamura is just getting tired of this battle arc and wants to end it soon, so he can go back to comedy.
>Jump announces 4 new series
That’s the point that makes it very likely.
Maybe it will just move to a different magazine?
Is something like that even possible?
There's nothing wrong with power ups and battles (I guess this is a matter of opinion), the problem with Beelzebub is that the only thing done right is Furuichi's character, everything else was shit; the MC was supposed to be a charismatic badass, but had the personality of a door (and so did the token tits character, Hilda).
Hell, Beelzebub was all about the supporting characters, Furuichi, Toujou, Red Tail girls, Pillar Squad and Zenjuurou.
I'll hope the author learn what he did wrong with this series and make it right with his next work, just like Kubo did with Zombie Powder.
>just like Kubo did with Zombie Powder.
you are hilarious.
I meant what he did with Bleach when looking at ZP flaws, sorry if I didn't make it clear.
>the only thing done right is Furuichi's character,
This. If tamura is in such a hurry he should have at least cut that melodramatic part with Beels mom that went nowhere and given us a chapter of Furuichi fighting with the Pillar Squad
>cancelled after 4 volumes
I don't think Zombie Powder is the example you should be giving. This is more like Neuro and Assassination Classroom.
Yeah they lasted longer than 3 of the beasts combined, and Furuichi doesn't looked distressed at all.
And it looks like En really will contract him with, too bad that's probably gonna be an epilogue.
>yfw no comedy moments when Furuichi tries to show he's the 2nd strongest fighter, but his Synch with En is so low that he still seems really weak, unless he's protecting someone.
If you want confirmation its on manganewsjapon's twitter feed. It'll end in a month.
You know, a month isn't bad. He could end the boring battle part relatively fast and have the aftermath be full of comedy, thus bringing the series right back to the start.
> there's still some characters foreshadowed to come in future arcs in the demon world
> suddenly final arc
it's definitely axed. Tamura never properly finishes his story and thus rushing arcs over due to Japan's shitty taste. Poor guy. But still that was an enjoyable read.
So...4 chapters? I guess we could have Satan finished in one, dealing with Beel in another and...I dunno,, I want to hope there is time for furuichi focus but tamura wouldn't be that good to us
no that wont happen, is just getting axed
I really like this series. Seeing it go is going to hurt. Was it not doing too well?
>Yeah they lasted longer than 3 of the beasts combined, and Furuichi doesn't looked distressed at all.
Wait, is this week's chapter out?
It's out in Chinese.
You see Furuichi and Laymia still standing.
Just checked it and Furuichi/Laymia aren't even trying to fight.
They're kinda still standing because the others are busy. They're just being ignored.
Confirmed or not, it's been obvious for a while now that it's the final arc. The pacing of the plot has ramped up significantly and it's quite clear that they're wrapping it up for the sake of wrapping it up. Whether it's an editorial mandate or if it's because the author is tired of it isn't 100% clear to me, but my bet is on the former. Its popularity has been on the decline for some time now.
No. It's far from a 100% parody. More like 50/50. He's obviously trying to subvert certain tropes that you point out, but he's also going for genuine emotional impact at the same time. Unfortunately, I think he fell short at that. For example, the scene where Beel is getting pissed at Mike just before a fight because he's drawing it out with backstory is parody, but the reconciliation and motivation reveal scene is a typical, dramatic climax for shonen manga.
>beelzebub not lame?
when was that?
Besides its first anime adaptation being only 50 episodes and it's constant bottom ranking in the Weekly Shonen Jump TOC, yeah anon Beelzebub is going bye-bye.
Feels like i'm reading Bakuman again, the Shounen Jump and all
Beelzebub had its time to shine. Creating a 27 volume manga isn't something that everyone's allowed to do. Medaka Box ended last year with 22 volumes. Nurarihyon no Mago was way more popular than Beelzebub yet it too ended at 25 volumes.
Beelzebub lasted longer than that and that makes me satisfied. Even if the ending is going to be utter shit.
If only Beelzebub was as popular as Bleach. Bleach always ends up on bottom ranking in TOC yet it's still pulling out chapters as if it wasn't ending. Oh well at least we get to see Oga in J-Stars Victory Vs...
