One of these days I'll start F/SN
In before redesign bitching.
I like the shoes, though.
I no longer care that she has a skirt. Now I just wish to see more of her.
How long will this take to get translated?
I kinda don't like it
Look at that whore skirt.
You used to have class, Arcade Bumstead. What happened to you?
i hope there will be sex
Takeuchi really likes boots, huh.
>No longer a classy lady, just an urchin in the shopping bazarre, now.
>Another annual reminder that Tsuki remake will not be seen even in Nasu's lifetime
I don't want to see a remake with whore-skirt Arc
I still don't like the skirt.
Also her face look strange.
JUST FUCKING KILL ME FUCK YOU NASU YOU FUCKING BASTARD
Is that ahoge in the back shooped on? What the fuck takeguchi.
I really fucking hate this redesign. Arcade Bumstead was already perfect.
>About to go to sleep
>One more refresh
Well look at what we have here
With Fate being shoved down our throats with all the rehashes, I appreciate Tsukihime more nowadays. While Tohno is still a faggot with the worst kind of gary stu power, the atmosphere of the game was one of the most beautifully dark settings I've experienced, and the characters fit in it like defining pieces of a puzzle. The world had a duality to it, and so did all the main cast, a hidden side which was so immersed in the shadows that it was hard to glimpse the depths of their true characters.
But anon, Shiki's power is still less broken than Girl-Shiki's.
This reads like copypasta.
His power is useless without the element of surprise.
>the atmosphere of the game was one of the most beautifully dark settings I've experienced, and the characters fit in it like defining pieces of a puzzle. The world had a duality to it, and so did all the main cast, a hidden side which was so immersed in the shadows that it was hard to glimpse the depths of their true characters.
This is pretty much one long-winded way of saying "I haven't so much as glanced at a single book since I was forced to read Charlotte's Web in third grade".
dat fucking skirt....
DAMMIT IT HURTS...why Nasu....why?
why is she wearing fucking boots
I get your point, but you can't compare a VN to an actual proper book. Compared to the writing most anime or most galge it's like drinking Shakespeare's piss as Dostoyevsky shits on your chest
>All these redesigns negatively affecting/ruining previous heroines
Sacchin's time at last!
To an extent I agree, but the reason for that tends to lie in prose and script. In terms of ideas, atmosphere, characterization, setting, and probably a few other aspects I can see certain VNs standing up to proper books, but Tsukihime is not among those by any stretch of the imagination. It's offensively mediocre and I have no idea how it continues to garner such over-the-top praise.
Who cares? Only nostalgiafags or people who want to act contrary like Tsukihime. And braindead waifufags.
I like them, Ciels in particular
But everyone's design is better except Arcueid, and she's worst TYPE-MOON anyway.
God, when are you people gonna get that Arcueid's clothes are rooted in logic rather than any sort of fashion sense. She chose the type of clothes that would allow her to blend in as much as possible in the environment she was infiltrating.
She looks better.
Only new design I don't really like is Ciel
I like her old hair better
Her old hair was a remnant of late 80s/90s anime. It doesn't work anymore in the modern era.
bet you think classic lit is an exciting read faggot
>books are entirely comprised of classic lit hurr
Shut the fuck up.
>It's offensively mediocre
It's not. And repeating that statement doesn't make it true. And saying X and Y are bad doesn't make it true unless you can pull examples from the VN.
Then I'll have fun with your little "argument" by applying it to different VNs.
I think her old hair looks better as well. The new style doesn't feel like it has any volume. Almost gives it a greasy feeling.
Ciel worst moon.
I kinda prefer her old hair too, but everything else looks great.
>Ciel worst moon.
I'll fight you.
>Then I'll have fun with your little "argument" by applying it to different VNs.
Was that some kind of fucking threat? Oh no, a Tsukihimefag on /a/ told me he'd systematically dismantle my views on a godawful 90s eroge about vampires. I'm shaking in my redesigned boots.
Well, I'd probably actually have her around 2nd or 3rd of only Tsuki girls. But she loses ground in Melty. I especially like Carnival Phantasm Ciel though.
Why does Saber have blue hair and glasses?
I like her new look more.
Makes me harder.
You're blind, son.
Diversify, my good man! Diversify!
I like the new looks more.
Akiha looks far superior in red. It's a much better match for her hair.
The problem is that when you combine that look with glasses, she becomes the archetypical 80s/90s short-haired glasses girl.
And frankly, that look is dead. Not many people find it attractive. According to Nasu and Takeuchi, Ciel was supposed to be a "cute" character, but what resulted turned out to be visually unappealing to most people, ignoring the issues with her personality.
Why does Saber have long black hair?
Me too. I hope we get Mahoyo level quality animations
Terrible hair, the boots are ok but they don't go well with that skirt.
Not /fa/ at all.
Should I bother reading the old Tsukhime or just wait for the remake?
Doesn't mean that Takeuchi can copypasta his waifu over everyone else's.
>I'm shaking in my redesigned boots.
You, as well as everyone else in this thread, will be dead when the remake comes out.
You still probably have few years before remake so go for it
The other redesigns are peachy, but I seriously preferred old Arcueid's design. "Mature-looking girl who is actually naive" is slightly more interesting than "naive, innocent girl who is... naive and innocent".
This, I do like most of the other ones, Ciel in particularly actually looks good with the redesign, and I mean while this one for Arc isn't terrible the last one was still better
I wish Ciel's bangs still split down the middle. She doesn't have to 100% resemble her old design but it'd be nice if the major design points were still there.
Mahoyo took half a decade because of the effects, and it had the length of like 1-2 playthroughs of Tsukihime. I think they're going to go a little easier this time.
With the glasses, she pretty much is. General consensus is that hair and glasses is a terrible conversation. That's probably why the majority of fanart of her is in her cosplay.
Not many people seem to find that old fashioned "80s/90s short-haired glasses girl" look as appealing anymore. At least, not as much as they used to. It's pretty obvious that Takeuchi doesn't care for it anymore either. Notice how Touko went through a similar transformation?
That look is clearly dead to him.
New Ciel kind of reminds me of Amagami's Nanasaki, whom Takeuchi liked.
>General consensus is that hair and glasses is a terrible conversation
Bald Ciel confirmed.
This, we're soon getting to the point where every T-M heroine has the same frontbangs.
Who? You and your dick?
No shit the hair looks bad. She didn't go to a trendy beauty parlor, it was VIOLENTLY CUT OFF FROM HER HEAD WITH CLAWS.
The fact that every character who sports this look inevitably ends up pretty low in their respective series' character polls? The fact that compared to the 90s, the usage of that particular type of design has dropped considerably over the years? The fact that 80% of Ciel fanart is of her WITHOUT glasses?
>hair and glasses is a terrible conversation
Did gay faggots from outer space invade this board or something?
Overcompensating for lack of popularity compared to the Seiba.
Meant that particular hairstyle.
I know, I'm just messin with you.
Doesn't make you less gay, mate.
WEEEEELL!!! THESE CLAWS AREN'T JUST FOR ATTRACTIN' MATES!
Well, in any case, nothing you can do.
It's pretty obvious based on design changes to both Touko and Ciel that something about that kind of style doesn't click with him anymore. And it's not like he has any obligation to keep a design he doesn't like, especially when you remember that the original Tsukihime was a doujin game.
How did we go from this
I suddenly feel I want to see TM make a visual novel about a girls' high school swim team.
People are forgetting that T. Shiki has already been redesigned once since the original Tsukihime.
He has eyes now.
>Nothing you can do
>Implying we won't just make a patch for original designs
With a little Saber face.
That would only work if they don't go and use something like the Mahoyo engine for Tsukihime.
And it wouldn't fix the event CGs.
Am I the only one that prefers the newer designs? Yeah, they're different, but they look much nicer. Some people need to get over their nostalgia and accept that Takeuchi has become a much better artist.
Shame he never fixed that sameface issue.
And much messier hair.
I want that blue-orange t-shirt back.
God Ciel is so fucking sexy.
>They still haven't released any art of Shiki
...Oh god. They actually did it, didn't they?
We're gonna learn that Shiki's the one they turned into a proper Saber clone, aren't we? That's it, isn't it?
dat fucking everything
Obviously the artstyle is much better, but Arc's new design is more generic. The new Ciel I'm all for though, old Ciel is like a dude with tits.
Shiki only had one sprite for Tsukihime and that was when he was kid. All his CGs were just dark-haired no-face boy like every VN protag and their dog.
Dem gorilla arms.
He's still not as bad as Koyama with his sameface
Tell me about it.
I dunno, man. You don't actually see that kind of clothing combination in anime or games these days. Plain white turtleneck, black skirt and leggings, boots. I mean, maybe it's because she's not wearing a school uniform, it has this sort of plain, clean feel that's not very common nowadays.
The black and white look gives her a very pure and clean image overall, while not being TOO plain.
Someone shop an image of Saber with black hair and eyes and glasses.
There wouldn't be much of a difference; they have the exact same facial features.
But Ciel and Akiha have different faces in that image you posted.
That's the point. Shiki in Tsukihime was just a faceless protag with the most generic haircut imaginable. In Kagetsu Tohya he got a face and a better defined hairstyle.
I agree with this sentiment, though I think Ciel looked just fine before, I don't really have much issues with the new design. Everything I think is decent or adequate enough, but Arcueid's design.
Fair enough, but it's still a stretch to say it was a redesign when there was hardly any design to begin with.
KT and onwards Shiki at least closely resembled Kid Shiki from Tsuki.
I didn't say all are the same. But you know there are at least 4 "Aoko face" (or maybe I should say Kanata face) characters in Mahoyo. Four sameface in one game
Arc just looks like another Saber now. And let's face it, if you don't like Saber, you're a fan of the wrong VN company.
Be honest. Honestly analyze yourself and the designs.
How many of you people who prefer Arcueid's old design over her current one honestly, truly believe that it's better in some way or another? How many of you only prefer the old design due to nostalgia? Like, really think about it. Try to look at each design separately and point out each thing you like and dislike about them and then compare the details. Honestly ask yourself this question: "If these two designs were release simultaneously for the very first time, and I'd never seen either of them before, ignoring all other factors altogether, which one would I truly prefer?"
Old Arc because dat hairstyle.
Ciel is better.
Akiha should be less black, a white hairband or a red ribbon or something would liven her up.
Arc's long skirt and high heels made her feel more unique and mature than your standard heroine, so I prefer that.
...We talking about the same Arc here?
Let me settle this once and for all
New Arc > Old Arc
New Ciel > Old Ciel
New Akiha < Old Akiha
New Hisui < Old Hisui
New Kohaku > Old Kohaku
He said no nostalgia
>New Arc > Old Arc
Stop right there, criminal scum
I felt she was meant to look physically mature. To contrast with her personality.
Black works with Akiha.
Realistically, if Akiha were to pick between the old look and the new look, I think she'd probably pick the new look every time. That light blue blouse and red skirt isn't something I can see someone like her ever pick out for herself. Her new look is more conservative and suits her well. Also, the black hairband would contrast and fit better with her Inverted red hair better than the white hairband ever did.
No matter how you look at it, her new look is completely "Akiha". It's precisely the sort of look she'd choose for herself and I'm surprised they didn't go with it before.
And I explained why I felt those things would work, without nostalgia. If I were contrasting two designs I'd seen for the very first time.
new akiha looks like that senpai from amagami
But Hisui and Kohaku didn't have any changes, did they?.
>No release date
My Cock is no longer hard for Tsukihime...
What is the likelyhood of Typemoon just going into bankruptcy
Because they seems to lost touch.
>Not releasing a VN with more than 3 routes
I don't hate saber, but I need anymore clones, thank you very much.
Old, because I feel like the high heels, and long skirt fit her better. Plus, I like the original hairstyle more as well.
Kohaku had little difference, like a little with the hair? While Hisui got boots now, and I think that's it
I was going to say the same thing. Though it's okay to me because it's a really attractive design. Frankly I only want Arc to have her old silly hair, everything else is good.
Akiha da bes.
>What is the likelyhood of Typemoon just going into bankruptcy
Same as me getting laid, meaning zero.
Here's the model that Arcueid's design was based off. I don't think "mature" was ever intended for her design.
In fact, Arc's current design more closely resembles this original model, so it clearly had quite the impact on Takeuchi.
I swear to me mum, Tsukihime will be getting the Ufo T once the remake is out.
I think the long skirt and high heels are ridiculous. She'd tear that skirt every time she kicked something and she'd crush the heels every time she put anything above normal human pressure on them.
Her body's superior but her clothes are plain fabric.
>Here's the model that Arcueid's design was based off.
Give Source to information or its false
W-wanna meet up?
>What is the likelyhood of Typemoon just going into bankruptcy
Zero, they can keep getting other people to make Fate spinoffs forever without having to put in any work hours themselves and still reap all the rewards.
Same could be said about that Yaya character, yet she looked better with her geta and the boots looked ugly. Besides, the battle she engages with, her clothes are going to get damaged either way, miniskirt/long skirt and high heels/boots and all.
Thank you very much
I don't really give a shit about Arc's new design. Sure it's controversial because of waifufags and nostalgiafags, but who the fuck still wears granny skirts?
inb4 muh class, muh maturity.
>No release date
Of course there isn't, Sherlock.
That's because it will probably get announced after the remake.
>What is the likelyhood of Typemoon just going into bankruptcy
Little to none. Fate is like Gundam; it gets milked because of it's concept with the Holy Grail War.
I think you meant new designs --> old designs
The old ones were good at the time but not now
Frankly, I think the black works better for Arcueid.
Arcueid's motif was always the "white princess". There is no color in existence that complements and contrasts with white better than black. No color makes white stand out better than black does. It's just a fact of how human eyesight reacts to colors.
By using black as Arcueid's secondary color, her whiteness stands out all the more. It's perfect for the White Princess of the True Ancestors.
I disagree, Melty Blood shows you can update them, yet still keep the design intact with little to no changes, they looked good and still look good.
I don't think the new designs are bad however, well except Arc's.
> I think that's it
Ribbon instead of bow-knot.
Yeah looking at them side to side, I can see it now. Like the forelocks have less of a split, and more of the typical generic "long bangs in the middle" kind.
Damn and I usually catch these details, I'm too tired right now. But yeah, they did change that too.
So TM ace was out, what about the Fate news? I'm too lazy to check the archive...
We still don't know the route, but many are getting worried that it might be Fate centric because it mentions Shirou not wanting Saber to fight.
Get ready for gloomy Shirou, because Nasu told ufotable that they aren't allowed to draw him looking happy.
I like Ciel's new design, but it's not Ciel. I can't see her being the currybutt we've known for years at all.
What about the Q&A in TMA? Did Nasu answer "can Tohno kill Servants"?
Incidentally, this is probably why Arcueid was given a shorter skirt. If she wore a long black skirt, her design would overlap too much with Akiha's.
It's actually kind of interesting if you look at Arcueid and Akiha's new designs side by side. While they do share some key elements, they're also compete opposites. With Arcueid, her dominant color is white, fitting with her motif and theme. With Akiha, it's the opposite; her dominant color is black with white as secondary.
I can't help but wonder if this wasn't done on purpose. Arcueid is the face of the Near Side of the Moon, while Akiha is the face of the Far Side. They are the primary representatives of those two categories. Those, it would actually make sense if they were design they way they were entirely on purpose.
Furthermore, their similarities would also call to intention the intricacies of their relationship; despite how they act around each other, in a way, they do like each other. If Shiki weren't a factor, they might actually be able to get along. It's a lot like the relationship between Azaka and Ryougi.
He sideskipped everything and just said MEoDP can kill Servants.
Shirou just isn't the type to smile all that much. That's the feeling you get when you play the VN.
He's serious most of the time.
I take it as yes
Which is something we knew.
What we wanted to know was about Tohno's brain, with its focus on physical and material things, would be able to comprehend servants to the degree he could cut them without making him a vegetable in the process.
Yeah the common route has Mitsuzuri bitching at Shirou how he never laughs at her amazing jokes.
...She has amazing jokes?
She seems to think so, otherwise she wouldn't get so offended that Shirou deadpans through them.
Yes. Shirou is just too baka to understand them.
More like he understands the concept of the punchline but it doesn't trigger any reaction.
We knew he can sever arcueids connection to gaia w/o dying what makes you think he wouldn't be able to see lines on servants without becoming a vegetable?
