I rewatched this 5 times before I started realizing it's genius.
How the fuck could you even watch it 5 times?
Watched this a couple of months ago, left me thinking and feeling like shit.
So Lux was kinda like Dante's Inferno, with the Shades being rooted to the ground in the Ninth Circle reserved betrayers around Kano as a Devil figure. There's even one of the Organo guys turned Shade that mentions this to Ichise near the end.
The surface feels a lot like Purgatorio.
So... there was a Paradiso maybe that we didn't get to see?
And what was this guy's deal anyway?
I only needed to see it once to realize that.
Why is it genius?
Ending was depressing as fuck.
He just wanted to watch the world burn.
Depends whether you like Lain and Haibane Renmai (though personally I found it the weakest and most disinteresting of the three) - if you think of Lain as being about the mind, HR as being about the spirit, then Tex is almost certainly about that of the body.
Based voice actor.
>before I started realizing it's genius.
Could you elaborate on this or is this thread just an empty circle jerk?
This nigga was fabulous
Godamn it had masterpiece OST, it really envelops you and creates an aura.
Use of sound (and silence) is a central part of Hiroshi Hamasaki's directional style in Texhnolyze and Shigurui. It's great.
>that last song
I feel like the Buddhist angle is a bit more apt to describe Texh -- the repeating hell seems to fit Kohakura's description more so than the 9th circle, perhaps, but the nature of just about all of the Shapes' (turning their backs on their former beliefs) very much fits your idea)
As for paradiso, take note that episode 19 (the first surface episode) is titled 'Heavenward' and 20 is 'Hades'.
Do you purposely rewatch incredibly taxing shows until you enjoy them or something.
Why hasn't Hajime Mizoguchi scored for more anime? I love his stuff (he always seems to be accompanied by Keishi Urata and Tsuneo Imahori as well).
it took me 5 episodes to realize it was good. But i don't quite understand it.
>I rewatched this 5 times before I started realizing it's genius.
So you're an idiot and need things drilled into your head 5 times before you understand them.
He just wanted to stir shit up and spur people to action.
Also his mustache is moe.
What do you not understand about it?
Sounds like it.
I'm on my fifty seventh run through LotGH.
Just how patrician do you even have to be just to do something like that.
Have you done anything else in the past 2 years or so?
>Depends whether you like Lain and Haibane Renmai (though personally I found it the weakest and most disinteresting of the three) - if you think of Lain as being about the mind, HR as being about the spirit, then Tex is almost certainly about that of the body.
Okay Kimlinger. Do you also still think it's a nihilistic black hole?
