It didn't have to be that way. Whilst his life might have inevtiably leading to a wihdrawal to hiki mode, early intervention after he started withdrawing from college could have been massively useful but without the necessary social support he just wallowed in his hiki environment, reinforced, closed off, and it just gt worse.
