Never thought I'd be saying this, but dub > sub in this case. Maybe for comedy in general.
I dunno. The dub is not bad but I wouldn't listen to it over the sub.
The comedic nuances are better in the dub though. I've been watching both, and the personality of QT in particular and the atmosphere in general comes across better in the dub. There are good elements in both, but the the dub is funnier (though this could be partly die to lost-in-translation stuff).
Is the dub edited for content?
Don't be a dick, we could have an interesting discussion on how language influences comedy in different cultures.
Or you could head on back to /co/ and take this terrible show with you.
The first episode was ridiculous with the asshole/asteroid belt line, but as each show is coming along the dub gets progressively better.
In the most recent episode (dub), I found myself thoroughly cheerful when Dandy kept trying to put moves on the female nurses. One particular line I like goes something like "But I am sick, cause these nurses are givin me the fever!" I watched the sub and, through a combination of not knowing the language and word choices from the sub, those same scenes just didn't seem as enjoyable.
Sometimes dubs are shit, but I think, for this show, they're pretty dandy.
The first episode dub was really cheesy, but they have been improving. The dub's narrator is better than the sub's by far.
Welp, have to keep watching both then. I wonder why they changed it?
what exactly did they change? I watched both an found no difference.
Something about Honey. In the jap dub she insults Dandy and he doesn't get it, in the english one she just says something dumb.
She's an undercover agent, calling it now.
