This has been sitting on your backlog for way too long /a/non, it's time you do something about it already!
What are you talking about you, I watched this as it was airing with the rest of /a/.
took to long to get going, I got about 7 episodes in I think and dropped it, the entire thing just felt ugly, which is a shame because I thought some of the girls were cute.
I already talked about this shit yesterday. I just can't get into things that have more than 12 episodes or 1 season easily. Stop bothering me with that, i'll watch it when i'll watch it and that's it.
overrated shit, glad it flopped
I watched the first 4 eps then dropped.
I'm more into cute girls doing cute things with less plot anyways.
It's definitly not amazing but I wouldn't really say it's overrated either really
I see what you mean, it's weird to feel what kind of target audience this show was meant to have. There is some slapstick cute girls doing cute things to it, but at the same time the plot didn't really allow you to turn your brain in off mode.
it kind of is, since I see most people calling it the second coming of Lain, I just found it to be overall rather transparent and did nothing to stand out as something special
Seriously? The second coming of Lain? I've never heard such things about it.
I wouldn't call it a bad show, it's just too slow to pick up and doesn't really stand out as you say, but other than that it's a pretty decent watch.
>another thread about this
>same people posting similar things
this is freaking me out man
i already jacked off to isako this week can you at least wait for me to cool down, OP?
>jacked off to isako
I've seen multiple times it be called "the lain of the 2000's"
Yeah I definitely wouldn't agree to that. Although I consider Lain to be the messiah of anime with texhno so maybe that doesn't count.
it can't be helped
I wouldn't be surprised, people putting little girls and computers together, that's their first thought.
Also remember what kind of people the "official anime reviewers" are, would you really listen to their opinions for good taste?
I think Lain is the better series, BUT I did enjoy Dennou Coil more.
I'm ok with that. I can see why as well, Dennou Coil feels a lot more laid back and overall probably easier to relax and enjoy it.
ya got me, into the queue it goes
I just finished it last weekend, damn, i wanna be a cyber wizard too.
I accidently deleted and now I can't be bothered to download it again. S-Sorry...
Haha, time to copypaste what I posted yesterday:
I love it. The setting is great and so is the world-building through the POV of the children. The semi-episodic nature of the show allows it to tell several short stories, either fun, clever and/or touching, while at the same time developing the characters and their relationships with one another.
The art is simple, though I grew to find it quite charming. While it might not be everyone's cup of tea, the animation is lively and more than makes up for it.
The main plot is not particularly impressive, but it's not the show's main selling point and it doesn't take away from the overall enjoyment.
In sum, it's a lovely anime and I would probably recommend it to anyone.
I certainly liked this a lot more than Lain. Texhnolyze is GOAT though.
>the entire thing just felt ugly,
Admittedly the character designs weren't your typical ~moe moe~ kawaii~ types, but the animation was fluid, the colour pallete pleasing, and the visuals pleasant.
I thought the pacing was very good as well - it neither jumped ahead too far or progressed so rapidly or slowly without addressing the world building aspects of the show or the relationship between the characters and the society that they lived in.
that's it, you fucking asked for it
I'm gonna watch it and enjoy it.
>All this Lain circle jerking
Lain is a literal 2deep4u show, filled to the brim with a lot of symbolism and metaphors that are literally there just to look cool. I don't even know how you'd compare Lain and Denno Coil since the only common factor is internet sci-fi; Lain is like a dumbed down Mullohand Drive, while Denno Coil is straight up the Goonies.
