I strongly agree.
r/ing bigger screen cap of that.
>However, the charm of the show's shounen "fight-fail-fight-win" formula might be too much for its own script.
You agree with that? It's not true at all. The only fight I can recall them losing was against Viral. They always win.
This reviewer probably only saw one episode and is making shit so it seems as though he's seen it.
He barely says anything about the show besides "muscular robot designs" and the animation.
I agree that TTGL deserves at least 90% in a review, but this review still sucks.
I strongly disagree.
>>10114377 This reviewer probably only saw one episode and is making shit so it seems as though he's seen it.
That reviewer knows more about mecha than you could ever hope to know.
That was actually a decent review.
so what , he probably only saw a few episodes
I post at that forum. Ender is my favorite reviewer.
>That reviewer knows more about mecha than you could ever hope to know.
Except that you don't know how much I know about mecha, and when I click on his image the only mecha related things I see are Mazinkaiser, Gundam and Giant Robo.
hey there Mr reviewer!
And those are just the anime he's reviewed.
Maybe he didn't mean "Fail" as in losing the battle. Maybe he meant it as in the actual fight.
For instance, Simon getting absolutely destroyed before beating Genome. But that's still strange since they actually lost against Viral, so the "Win" part of the fight fail fight win formula is inaccurate.
He's probably just summarizing his thoughts so he doesn't spoil anything. Either way, I agree with his review.
I'm not him. If I was, I would've given NGE a 60% at most.
and I've seen the majority of those, excluding a few like Cyber City Oedo, Gun Frontier, Heat Guy J, Weiss Kruz and Gundam F91.
I wasn't saying anything about you, but was rather specifically addressing this part:
>and when I click on his image the only mecha related things I see are Mazinkaiser, Gundam and Giant Robo.
It's almost as though you were implying that he's got no firm foothold in the mecha genre, which is completely wrong. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you, though.
Look at almost any action movie or action anything ever and you're definition of "fight-fail-fight-win" applies to all of them.
The hero is winning, then he starts to lose, then he wins. Happens in every action thing ever.
93%? Sounds like 100% to me!
except rambo,or old steven seagal, faggots never get hit
This is a solid review.
Steven Seagal movies suck. And the only good Rambo movie was the first one.
>In a year that will mostly be remembered for would be gods and magical notebooks, Akagi flew under the radar for most anime fans. If for any reason you like mind games, flawless animation (albeit with character designs of an unfamiliar nature), or the game of mahjong, I implore you to watch this show immediately. Even if you don't like these things, give it a shot. Akagi deserves way more respect and acknowledgment than it has received.
WHAT IS THIS
WHAT IS HAPPENING
WHERE IS THE RAGE /a/
Should be 100%.
>Cynicism and commentary have somehow become more acceptable than innocence and charm. There are times when one must look towards the simpler, more accessible forms of art and see the grand-scale entertainment in front of them. Those who would snub this story are too busy looking at upper-echelon anime. They need to see past that, because it is over the top where Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann resides.
This struck me as particularly true of /a/.
I can't help but feel as though every time somebody bashes GL for not having a good plot or characters they strike me as those REALLY annoying weeaboos (not annoying as in Gaia or "OMG XDDDDD KAWAIII!!!" sort mind you) the kind who flaunt around all the "mature" and "sophisticated" anime they watch while never actually saying WHAT anime they watch because they know it's probably just as immature or classless as GL.
Same goes for people who always classify it as Naruto or Bleach. The biggest problem with these is that THE REASON /a/ HATES NARUTO AND BLEACH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GURREN LAGANN AT ALL.
>Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evangelion - 79%
Holy shit, a reviewer that doesn't suck eva's cock?
Its all the same shit. Deal with it.
It's clearly not. Trolling aside.
Didn't Akagi finish like 18 months before Death Note started?
This site is looking more and more like a completely reputable source the more I see. I disagree with some of the order in the 100%-90% section, but really, who cares. Look at this http://www.animeacademy.com/libgrade90.php
That's quite a lot better than any other site.
>Its all the same shit.
THIS IS THE CANCER THAT'S KILLING /a/.
Smilies and retarded comments are universally hated but this flaunting around vague arguments to sound smart bullshit is just as stupid and just as detrimental.
Reviews can be published at any time.
As a person who lived all my life in an island that lives off of anime(our famous movie stars/musicians wear anime shirts), I find it hilarious when you guys try to decide what's great and those that suck.
...why would we rage over someone giving Akagi a glowing review? It's really fucking good.
FINALLY someone who hates Lovely Complex as much as I do.
>Yes, there are a heck of a lot of laughs in between—it’s what made the series bearable—but it’s not enough when immediately after laughing your head off you’re reminded of just how little this show actually progresses
And why wouldn't we?
People have been deciding what's good and what sucks for ages.
I meant that I typicially expect rage when I read anime reviews posted on /a/.
Welcome to /a/. Enjoy your stay.
Because some of you adamantly believe what you are saying even though it's the farthest thing from the truth.
This was the site I used when I first got into anime, sending me to Miyazaki's works (check out the rave review of Laputa), FMA, and I don't remember what. The reviewers are generally pretty sensible.
The truth is >>10114844's opinion, obviously.
And the truth is?
What's your stance? I don't quite get it.
I happen to think this site is great. It's small, but the reviewers are actually competent, and they review things similarly to how I'd review things if I were in their shoes.
They're not perfect, and they may misunderstand things. (Like that bit in the GL review) but that's a small complaint. I think their track record is pretty good, from what I've seen.
The new Rambo movie was way more badass and had GORE.
Rage? Why? Akagi is awesome.
The new Rambo was pretty depressing, I thought.
Sure, it was kind of nice when he shot guys in the face, but everything up until then was just kind of reminding me how shitty the world is. And even when it was Rambo killing guys instead.
The very first Rambo was pretty depressing itself. The story was more about a veteran traumatized by his past than him actually kicking ass. Hell, I think I could count the amount of people Rambo actually killed in just one hand. I liked it, though.
Much better than the cheesy sequels anyway. Not that I hate cheesy 80's action flicks - Commando is love.
I even like how it just uses an old-style graphic as banner. I don't think the site's design has changed since 2003, possibly earlier.
He doesn't have an opinion, just an observation.
The world IS shitty
