We all know /a/ hates streaming but what about its manga equivalent: online readers?
>>
Online readers with downscaling, compression and watermarks.

But even then, online readers still manage to be pieces of shit.
>>
>Batoto
Mangafox would be a better example considering they downscale and watermark other people's releases on their site
>>
batotoy

pekpek
>>
>>101136855
Batoto still takes down a bunch of shit for little reason.
>>
Batoto is the only decent online reader we have left, and even still I usually download mine.
>>
>>101136878
Most of the time it's due to the scanlator's request
>>
Batoto and Kissmanga are fine, though Batoto staff are shitfucks who remove shit based on their opinions sometimes. And all manga sites have shitty search engines.

All other sites are resizing watermarking garbage except scanlator's own personal readers.

That's about all there is to say.
>>
nothing in the anime scene matches the scumfuckery that is mangafox and the likes.
>>
>>101136928
>quickly remove Blade Play
>That shitty shoujo that has the same level of sexuality still up

I can't help to think that they are a bunch of landwhales.
>>

>>

>>
>>101137091

>>
Its shit.
>>
>>101137129
Ok, mangareader, here I go.

Seriously. Give me a better alternative than Batoto and I'll be all over it.
>>
>>101137034
>>101136989
Well, shit
I just assumed those series got dropped or went on hiatus
>>
>>101136791
Its only acceptable if its Bakkin.
>>
>>101137255
Kissmanga is fine too you fucking faggot.
>>
Unfortunately mangareaders are the only viable option with manga.

Scanlators don't want to put their manga up on nyaa for some reason, usually muh fame. Too bad that when their site gets DMCA'd, no one can get the links. Just try hunting down scans for Rave from the original websites. You can't. It and series like it are only available on bakabt because readers compile it.
>>
Batoto needs some alternate site where they host all the shit they keep removing.
>>
>>101137293
I dislike the site setup, with pages not being separated and all that. Plus no random manga button.

I am not autistic enough to search for and download each individual chapter and I imagine that would be a giant pain with older less popular series. Streaming anime is different because the quality is either ass or you have to pay for it.
>>
If the scanlator's site has an online reader I use that
If they don't, I use batoto
If neither, whatever the fuck is the first option on Google that isn't mangafox

You call that complaining?

I made up my mind on Kissmanga a long time ago. I didn't spend time there because Batoto fit me better. Why would I bother looking around a site I didn't like?
>>
Chink scans master race.
>>
They are fine as long as you don't use shitty sites that has 5 watermarks and no zoom option/the image is made smaller to fit the frame, meaning you can't see shit.
>>
>>101137787
Mangatraders is pretty convenient site to download manga(they even compile the downloads by volume). The only problem is that it takes days and up to weeks for the latest chapters to get uploaded and the download speeds can get slow as fuck.
>>
>>101137871
MT has some pretty old versions of shit. BakaBT is usually better for completed stuff.
>>
>>101137906

>You call that complaining?

Did I stutter?

>Why would I bother looking around a site I didn't like?

For a reason which could've been fixed if you had taken a second to look for. I never used Kissmanga before, and I found that button instantly.

I don't give a shit if you use Batoto or Kissmanga. I'm not trying to convince you to use Kissmanga over Batoto.

The problem here, is that you're fucking retarded. Every single reply that you make only goes to show how dumb you are. It would've been beneficial for all parties involved here if you had just stopped posting.
>>
>>101137993
>The only problem is that it takes days and up to weeks for the latest chapters to get uploaded and the download speeds can get slow as fuck.

Never really had a problem with the download speeds unless a server was going down.

Everything is uploaded by members of the site so yeah there's going to be delay.

>>101138035
I hate the BBT format for manga. It's irritating all fuck. Thankfully I've never needed to download a manga series from there apart from 3x3 Eyes.
>>
>>101138203
They usually go for original releases. Meaning no repacks. However, I can download at normal speeds, doing a bunch at a time and some of them are far more up to date. I do prefer volume repacks, but honestly it's easier to go with BBT as long as the naming scheme isn't totally out of whack.
>>
>>101138277
>as long as the naming scheme isn't totally out of whack.

That's why I never liked it. Spent more time renaming over half the folder THEN packing everything into volumes which was tedious.

Started downloading some manga from BBT now and a few series like 090 still have that problem. Still, better than what was there years ago so I'll use it for a few series without loose chapters.

Yea, since they steal everything from the internet they update pretty quick. Then I can go to the scanlators and download direct. It's pretty convenient for managing when series I read get updated. Otherwise I would have literally no clue their is a new chapter of something that hasn't updated in 4 months. Like fucking Reversible, waiting was suffering.
>>

It actually doesn't matter what reader you are using, since the best thing to do is to download your mangos and read them in full HD resolution in mangameeya.

I see no problem with reading manga online. Sure, mangafox is utter shit, but there are alternatives. Without watermarks, without compressing, with "download" button right next to the each chapter, with scans updated whenever a volume comes out. It's not just the same as downloading manga and reading it "manually", it's better.
If we should complain abouth something it's watermarks put there by scanlators. That's the real evil here.
>>

BBT's no repacks and no renames policy is balls to the walls retarded, but I still use BBT for manga because it's still the easiest and fastest way to grab a whole series.

I actually downloaded 15 series last week and did some scripting work to rename them all. Took about ~30 minutes to get all 328 files renamed properly with only a few manual renames needed (the SugoiSugoi releases here didn't originally have chapter numbers, just volume number and chapter name, and the extra chapter also has no indication of where it should go so I had to look it up), but I still got tripped over thanks to some archives inside archives (thanks for this act of maximum retardation, scanlators).

I'm not sure you're understanding the typical level of the people we're talking about here.

We're talking about people who think that switching off the monitor is "turning the computer off."

The sort of people who will generally be satisfied by a boilerplate "we make every effort to remove inappropriate content" email and not look any deeper into it.

This is why the takedowns that already happen are so erratic: because they tend to hinge on the whim of someone likely computer-illiterate who gets hung up over a single series.

You might see one or two extra series go down, but not necessarily. There's every chance that your message will be ignored anyway, or that they fuck up investigating something and don't notice the smut (I've actually seen this happen with people who cannot into reading comprehension, they seem to skip past entire panels and pages without really taking anything in)

Why would you even use an online reader, and if you for some reason choose to, why would you not pick one of the sites with decent quality and no watermarks?

I just don't understand.
>>
I just download from mangatraders or scanner's site. I can use a desktop comic reader to avoid cringing with online readers.
>>
>>101149120
But I did the opposite of what you said.
>>
I like those little fold-out manga advertisements you get when you buy tanks. They're great toilet literature and you just can't get those when you read online.
>>
>>101148909
You know you don't have to read it everytime, you know ?
Still better than shitty watermarks that takes half the page.
>>
>>101136791
Batoto let's me slack off at work. At home I use a ripper program to quickly download and zip series. I can thank mangaupdate's faggotry for this.
>>
>>101139363
>Forbids excellent manga like kodomo no jikan just because muh children
>Fucking whiteknight fedora and fujo-trash moderators
I'll stick with shitty mangafox, thanks.
>>
I recently started to use Kissmanga, but I miss the whole "click left to go to next chapter once you finish the last page". Is it there any way to implement this in the site?
>>
>>101152732
Good decision
>>
>>101152732
You can use kissmanga at least.
It doesn't delete shit.
>>
Batoto is the only good online reader.

Choice of scanlations, the full resolution for each page is always available, ads that aren't obnoxious and can be blocked.

The only problem is that their admins are a TV Trope - esque nazi regime. If something I want isn't there, I just download it. Pulling scanlations on request isn't a bad thing either, other online readers would just take and host them regardless of what the original scanlators want.

>>101152732
>>101139363
Yes, the mods are retards but that doesn't mean the entire site is bad. Just download any manga you can't find there. It's not fucking rocket science.
>>
>>101153172
>the only good online reader
Alright, Kissmanga, too. Forgot about them.
>>
I love online readers because I love it when everything is blurry.
>>
>>101153250
I love /a/ because there is always some kind of retard who doesn't know what he's talking about.
>>
>>101149449
>Is the scanlation drama scene still as bad as before?
What do you think?

Drama will never go away.
>>
>>101152862
I guess not?
>>
>>101153864
Nope.

Do none of you buy your manga? Am I the only one?
>>
>>101158578
I import shit to scan it.
>>
>>101158631

You're doing god's work anon.

Nothing degenerate though right?
>>
>>101158578
I do, but I still read most of my manga online.
I only buy something if I liked it a lot.
>>
>>101158689
Oh I import all sorts of degenerate things for my own pleasure.

But the stuff I am getting to scan seems to be approved of by /a/.
>>
>>101158858

How do you import them? There's this one manga that I want to finish. It's nothing good or decent but I need to finish it just because. I'm OCD or something.
>>
>>101158578
I used to. I realized being 30+ and buying more or less japanese teenager comics with weird themes looks bad. Got to keep appearances up.
>>
>>101158915
If you can read imported manga, you should be able to manage navigating a Japanese bookstore's website. That is all you need.
>>
>>101158927

What
>>
>>101158578
Why ssk that? You are aware most people on /a/ can't read moon and tons of translated manga don't exist for purchase, right
>>
>>101158927
Who's going to know?
>>
>>101159120
It's an adult thing. Few people even heard about anime and manga here. There is no way I could keep such books on display in my apartment without destroying the social life I have.
>>
>>101158927

You have a family??
>>
>>101159219
>>101159195
Not everyone is a loser on /a/.
>>
>>101159154
There's no way I wrote ssk instead of ask
Moot must be stealing letters now too

>>101159255
Yeah but who's going to know?
Just put shit in a closet
>>
>>101159195
No one hopefully. I rent a self storage unit where I have about 80 volumes of manga. I plan to auction off everything except the sci-fi stuff.
>>101159219
Yeah and friends. I go to great lengths to keep everything I do secret. In fact I virtualize and encrypt everything on my computers. The missus have no idea that the windows 7 she is using is actually a virtual machine running on linux.
>>
>>101159255
>buying chinese kiddy comics

Good job, I'm actually impressed.
>>

Pasta
>>
>>101159632
It's actually more of a way to keep computer maintenance at a minimum. She is as cluelass as your average female when it comes to computers so a vm with periodic snapshots makes it easy to roll back.

>>101159781
Was actually inspired by the pasta.
>>
Fuck the scanlators, I miss the times where those fucks weren't jews.

I miss the times where pirates didn't were entitled pieces of shit. I mean let's be honest here, they are just piratefags and don't deserve shit.
>>
Why not just download the manga and read it with honeyview or something? I don't understand why anyone would purposefully want to read shit with terrible quality and watermarks all over it
>>
>>101161004
are you retarded
>>
>>101161098
Nice argument. I bet you're subscribed to CR too.
>>
>>101161098
No I'm seriously asking. What's the benefit over downloading?
>>
>>101161146
I'm not.
>>101161175
Not every site ruins the image quality.
If you had read the thread you'd seen it.
>>
>>101161004
The ones we use don't have terrible quality and watermarks, they're the same as the downloads.

>Mangatraders is pretty convenient site to download manga

Once someone uploads to MT, that is the version they have. They often keep the old version even when better versions or replacements come out. On the other hand, BakaBT tries to get the best version and will update to the best one. So if cleaner tankoubon scans come out, BakaBT updates to those whereas MT has kept the old scans before.

BakaBT's speciality is in complete sets and having the best version after a juried review process. You can even make your own comments or observe the review process at BakaBT via:

>I mean let's be honest here, they are just piratefags and don't deserve shit.

While the readers are pirates as you say and don't deserve shit, the scanlators still try to prepare items for the real fans to read. The problem occurs with the distribution method where UNgrateful readers also have access to the material.

In the old days, distribution was mostly to grateful fans who sincerely appreciated the work, so the amount of whining and spiteful complaints by non-fan readers was pretty much non-existent.

>The problem occurs with the distribution method where UNgrateful readers also have access to the material
The problem is that scanlators are doing their shit because of e-fame. It doesn't matter who which kind of person reads their stuff, in the end everyone with half a brain knows that most people don't give a shit.
>>
>>101162631
MT is community driven. Just upload the better version with a comment on the quality improvement and the files will be changed. I've done it before with Yandere Kanojo and some other series.

I only buy a series that I loved when I read it online except JoJo

Still hoping pic related gets localized in English soon

I use Batoto because a lot of anonymous "No Group" stuff gets uploaded there that never gets posted on Manga Updates since they don't have a group (on that note, fuck Manga Updates' staff). Batoto has become scanlator heavy, so of course I use it.
>>
I just found out that Crunchy added Arpeggio, Soredemo and Spirit Circle to their manga selection, will the groups translating this drop it because of this?
