So I was googling "Caribbean Republic" for kicks, and found this: "the Carribean Republic of Samana Cay", a micronation run by some New York guys and claiming some uninhabited islands in the Bahamas. The interesting thing is that it was "founded" a few months before the insolvency of Lehman Brothers Holdings became public.

The last remaining evidence of a desperate attempt by Caribbean FD entrés to save their holdings by secession? If so, it seems they were only able to save the parts without any capital to repossess...
