1- Bittenfeld, Farenheit Eisenach, Kircheis Reuenthal, Mittermeyer
2 - Reinhard, Kircheis, Yang, Fischer, Muller
3 - Bucock, Merkatz, Mecklinger, Dusty
Shit tier - Fork, Staden, Grillparzer, Flegel, Braunschweig, Paeta, Lynch
>Kircheis tier 1 and 2
He's just that good
>Forgetting about Oberstein
Bittenfeld is the 2nd best living admiral by the end of the series.
He killed Fischer, Bucock, Merkatz and almost killed Yang. Would likely have killed Reuenthal too, depending on the circumstances.
Truniht was a good man who did nothing wrong
>2nd best living
Who's the best then?
Yang is my favorite character of all time, so no, I don't agree with this list.
Truniht was a very good written character, better than 90% of the 'main' characters.
Yang was a mediocre admiral, everyone just thought he was so great, he had an aura of stupidity that turned any great admiral who fought him into a retard, as they'd over estimate Yang, then he'd do the complete opposite anyway
Great guy though RIP
Rubinsky > Truniht
Is this in terms of skill? Yang not being in his own top tier is fucking retarded if that's the case.
He also fucked up several times and lost a chunk of his forces. Bittenfeld was too inconsistent to be considered one of the best admirals.
Oh, I don't like him for his military accolades, I just love the nature of his character, the contradiction of his interests and heart, and his sense of duty and fate, even if they excessively comment on this during the show. I feel like I'm one of the few who appreciate the story about the FPA and their struggle for survival more than that of the Empire and the rise of Reinhard.
If the Republic had someone like him alongside Yang, the fight would be much more equal. Reinhard would likely lose some good admirals.
Early on, the problem isn't that the FPA lacks military minds, but that the good didn't necessarily rise to the top. It wasn't meritocratic, as Reinhard's empire later would be.
Later on, when Yang is actually in charge of the remnants, they just don't have enough manpower and ships to actually be able to take advantage of good generals anyway.
The FPA didn't have a single general on the level of Bittenfeld, other than Yang. The closest would be Merkatz.
>tfw by Episode 110 you had started to warm up to Oberstein
>tfw he gave his life for the Kaiser
It's like people are saying though. The FPA probably did have generals that were equal to the Empire's, but they didn't rise up.
Also, Robert Lap was supposed to be equal to Yang in tactics.
I recently finished the series and I have to say, Julian is the shittiest character. He has enormous luck, magical skills in all areas, a complete insensitivity for killing with his own hands or through command, and he doesn't even get the girl but the girl gives herself to him.
He's actually like the complete opposite of Yang, and this has been set in stone when he straight up murdered an unarmed guy for revenge and then lost his shit. And at the closure of the era of warfare he still chooses to keep spilling blood until he gets bored so that he can then imitate Yang and become a historian.
At the end, after 110 episodes, it turns out that despite the "lel let's use nukes" thing and his otherwise supposed heartlessness, Oberstein was actually one of the best human beans in the series, just not in a conventional way.
In Oberstein's case, it was a case of a brilliantly constructed character. In Julian's case it was either the opposite, or the author's trying to give some sort of very bizarre message.
Oberstein was pretty based.
>No comedy sequel involving Fleet Admiral Bittenfeld chasing down Space Pirate Oliver Poplin in the corners of the galaxy, only with Poplin to escape by the skin of his teeth each episode, disabling Bittenfeld's ship, and Bittenfeld's aide is a distant relative of Oberstein, and Oberstein is Bittenfeld's conscience and inner sprit
That sounds like the best thing that could ever happen in anime
Bittenfeld is a fag.
You know the same thing actually applies to Yang if we just change names and modify it a little.
>I have to say, Yang is the shittiest character. He has enormous luck, magical skills in all areas, a complete insensitivity for killing with his own hands or through command, and he doesn't even get the Frederica but the Frederica gives herself to him.
Except Yang is not insensitive to killing (this is even explicitly mentioned), and he never kills anyone with his own hands.
He has a history with Frederica, their relationship takes time to mature, and Yang had unsuccessful romance in the past.
He does have magical skills in tactics, but is not a magical supersoldier who can take on 10 people at once and can induce those trained enemies to stand still so that he can behead them or shoot them. And most of the time he gets out of bad situation due to his own prowess only, and not because he got insanely lucky.
It's like you haven't even seen the show.
I'd watch it
So is your favourite character
>He also fucked up several times and lost a chunk of his forces. Bittenfeld was too inconsistent
Bittenfeld is a cavalry commander. Historically, they've always been like that.
Yang was confirmed to be the greatest tactician in LOGH. Only a Kircheis + Reinhard tag-team could have defeated him tactically.
Kircheis could have soloed Yang easily. If only he was alive.
Eisenach + Bittenfeld = kill Yang
Kircheis wasn't that great. Kircheis together with Reinhard could have beaten Yang, Kircheis alone probably not. At best he could have achieved a stalemate. Kircheis and Reinhard together however could have likely defeated Yang.
Best piece from LoGH?
If only he was here. Things wouldn't have gone this way.
>Eisenach is the 2nd best living admiral by the end of the series.
Was in the prequel movie
>That piece of music at 0:50
All the cool shit happened when that bit started playing
>Kircheis blows up the minefield
That or when the ED themes would play
>Geiersburg Fortress showing up at the end of episode 32
Mahler's 2nd during later stages of battle of vermillion is my favourite
I also enjoyed whenever they used mahler's 6th
>Plays when Bittenfeld and Eisenach wreck Yang's shit
You forgot this
>2 - Reinhard, Kircheis, Yang
These are Elder God tier
only kircheis, he's literally perfect
