What does /a/ think of dennou coil?
It's pretty good.
50GB burning a hole in my hard drive but it has too many episodes for me to finally sit down and watch.
Season 2 never because it bombed so hard its director retired from anime. Which is a shame, since I've heard nothing but good things about it.
One of the best anime of all time.
Damn, that's bad news. Started it and enjoying it quite a lot so far.
I'm guessing you will never watch logh then. Shame.
It starts pretty episodic, you can watch a few and put it down for a while.
I've already seen LOGH.
I just have a problem committing to shows with more than 12 episodes or more than one season. They usually sit in my backlog forever.
I had no idea what the fuck was going on, but it was FASCINATING.
I see what you mean. Had tons of shows like that, once I start them it's usually fine, but they tend to sit longer in my backlog compared to other stuff.
Interesting concept, slightly disappointing execution which doesn't quite explore the concept fully, but it's still well worth watching. The episode with beards is 10/10.
Why does everyone in this anime look like a Filipino or some other south-east asian?
The fuck? 2GB episodes?
>because it bombed so hard its director retired from anime
Didn't it win the same 'sci-fi' award that Evangelion won? Quite a prestigious one (for anime at least)
Better then SAO.
Critics loved it, it just had no commercial success.
I liked it, but I have no idea what the target audience was. It was all cartoony and slapstick, but too difficult for kids to follow and not really something you could turn your brain off and watch.
I'm fine with that - I watched the the first several episodes or so and just couldn't get into it. Shame since people call it 'the war and peace' of anime and whilst thematically it may be so it lacks nearly the same level of sophistication. Far too overrated by anime elitists and weeaboos.
It's feminist shit.
Dropped it 6 episodes in and rewatched LOGH instead.
Bloatgirls. I notice it also has a lot of grain.
>1.72gb per episode
I'm guessing that's what he has sitting on his hard drive.
bitch be tripping binary
I liked it
And what is he doing now then?
I started downloading it (from Ureshii's torrent, fuck 50 GBs) but I have yet to start it because of so many other things I'm trying to watch and read.
Mitsuo Iso fucking quit?! Entirely?!
I demand a source for that. He was one of the most talented motherfuckers in the business.
real life dennou coil soon
It's pretty good, was a fun watch
Yeah I think i'm gonna download that and delete the coalgrill release once i'm done watching it. 50gb is just way too fucking much.
he hasn't done anything after Denno Coil, so its speculation
can't come soon enough
the fact that i'll probably be able to virtually cuddle my waifu in the years to come almost serves as some kind of sick consolation to the fact that i'll never explore space because I was born too early.
I'm more interested in the virtual overlay and interaction with this virtual layer that the glasses in Dennou Coil do moreso than just escaping into another world.
I don't think that's happening any time soon (at least I can't really see it happening within this decade at least)
Learn to lucid dream. Those times where you are both 'dreaming' yet conscious of so and can mentally alter/interact with your dream are great.
I can never manage this shit because I can't remember any of my dreams unless I'm taking a short nap.
I keep reading about how keeping a dream journal is supposed to help but how can it help me if I can't remember them in the first place?
I should probably look into that. I often have these kinds of daydreaming moments when I sleep, where some part of me feels conscious i'm in my bed and another part is going on about a dream.
It's hard to describe but it's like the part of me conscious that i'm lying in my bed and dreaming is very far away, as if that part was the dream.
I also remember my dreams very, very often. The only problem is that I wake up a lot when I have these daydreaming moments.
Although maybe lucid dreaming can be worthwhile so I might put some effort into learning that.
If you set an alarm slightly earlier than you usually get up you'll have better chances. It's been years since I've tried or read anything about it but interrupting a dream makes it easier to recollect after waking
On topic though, this has been sitting on my backlog for quite some time, it's finally up next
Actually quite excited
I love it. The setting is great and so is the world-building through the POV of the children. The semi-episodic nature of the show allows it to tell several short stories, either fun, clever and/or touching, while at the same time developing the characters and their relationships with one another.
The art is simple, though I grew to find it quite charming. While it might not be everyone's cup of tea, the animation is lively and more than makes up for it.
The main plot is not particularly impressive, but it's not the show's main selling point and it doesn't take away from the overall enjoyment.
In sum, it's a lovely anime and I would probably recommend it to anyone.
I've never watched it but I find the characters easy to masturbate to. It must be a good show, based on that fact.
Based Isako carries the show by herself.
I personally find Fumie more fapable.
Have something I got from /x/.
I think that its been in my backlog for well over a year
I know that feel. There are quite a few shows I would like to watch/ catch up on but they are already in the 100+ numbers. For me to even catch up to the current episode I would have to watch at least 5 episodes a day which is roughly 2 hours. That really isn't a long time but also keeping up with current anime and other shit I do, I just never have the time to do it.
Nice timing OP, I finished watching this earlier today. I stayed up until 5 seeing it. Was totally worth it.
