Just finished this.
Hands down, one of the best things I have ever watched.
A true 10/10.
Do you like Lain,/a/?
spaces go after commas
Yes, there are some stoners around here who like it
The alsoy can't write for shit, just like you
As an OP, remember you can get attention on /a/ by mentioning the following in your thread.
Serial Experiments Lain
Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evangelion
or and assembly of words defaming or promoting a female cartoon character.
Remember these tips to validate yourself when online! I'm sure we'll have a great day!
Are you an E.C.C.O agent? Please, stop already.
I guess I proved my point by myself
Yes, /a/ in general loves the series.
Its to early for good Lain threads, wait about 8 hours then post again OP.
I don't, it thinks it's smarter than it really is. The theme was old and busted already when it aired.
I didn't really get it, I didn't pick up a single reference, which I find weird since I'm a computer science student.
Is it just because it was written for the generation before me or am I just casual as fuck?
I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it, it was pretty interesting, but half the time I didn't know what the fuck was going on and the other half of the time I felt like I was listening to an in-joke without being in on it.
>Look how smart i am
most of the references are for old Apple products
I loved Lain, it was honestly probably my favorite series. It really got me thinking so much and fucked my mind so hard that I couldn't think for months. I still look back at this series and just am fondly dazzled by the pummeling it gave to my brain. I do agree it's definitely not for everyone, but I don't get why some people think it's pretentious or think that it "thinks its smarter than it is"; I can understand if it's a bit esoteric for someone, but that doesn't reflect the quality, it just reflects a difference in tastes. Which is fine.
Oh. I'm sorry. I'm drunk a little bi.
It makes them feel smarter.
It's more philosophical than technological.
I love how the game portrayed Lain like a normal girl.
Dub was god-tier.
How is sub?
I don't know why people thought it was 2deep.
Yes,they were some confusing scenes. But everything was pretty much explained.
Lurk more newanon.
>a little bi
interested in a party, m8? I'll suck your dick.
Yea; it's unfortunate that people discard it as such just to feel better about themselves when it really isn't even necessary.
Come on guys, the dub for Lain is pretty well done. I mean, obviously this is /a/ but it's on a Cowboy Bebop level for its dub; and the one thing I will give Bebop is that it had a pretty damn good dub. So I won't insult this guy for that. But yea, sub was still better.
yes it's one of my favorites with texhno.
What actually happened to her sister?
She was deleted. But why?
Wasn't serial experiment lain done by the same team who did texhnolize ?
Texhnolyze was more ABe, Ueda and Konaka coming together again than the 'same team' as a whole. Triangle Staff had dissolved by the time of Texhnolyze's production, and it was Hiroshi Hamasaki directing instead of Nakamura for Texhnolyze.
I love Lain.
Should we call her Rain or Lain?
Alice or Arisu?
It's not a matter of how smart I am, it's rather the fact that the show didn't deal with the themes in a way that was fresh to me, it was shit I had seen/read before. I can see why people who had their first exposure to these philosophical themes would value Lain, but I don't.
Perhaps it was that my expectations were raised after the praise I heard about the show, and perhaps I would enjoy it more if I rewatched it. I don't know.
Rainu and Arisu sounds best.
A great man, taken in his prime
I'm a filthy ignorant faggot, please someone enlighten me on what this is supposed to remind.
Was gonna be an anime created by some people who made Lain. One of them fell ill and died this summer, putting production on hold.
Goddamn, serial experiments in watercooling.
