I'm currently watching the first season of Darker Than Black.
I've seen 10 episodes so far and I'm not that impressed.

I like the setting and the story but dislike the execution.
I often find myself bored while watching it.

Do the arcs after episode 10 get more exciting? Is the ending good?
I'm just looking for reasons to keep watching.

The whole show is pretty much what you're already seeing. The ending sucks.

If well done fight scenes, chinese electric batman, Yoko Kanno, and episodic mini-stories don't do it for you then you probably won't like this.

Alright, thanks.

Keep watching season 2 gets insanely good.

I've heard the opposite.

First season felt like the same episode over and over without a satisfying conclusion. The second season, despite the ending coming out of left field and leaving much to be desired too, has episodes that feel more cohesive and the characters are dynamic and actually interesting rather than flat.

[insert flat joke here]

I'm in the same boat as you anon. I got so bored with the actual narrative, the only thing keeping me watching were the fights. I can't even remember how far I got before I dropped it.

Same thing for me. I dropped it around ep 10 as well. It's just boring.

If you don't enjoy it now, just stop.

I enjoyed the episodic nature of it and the fights were good enough to keep me watching. But the ending was miserable, S2 was bollocks and there was nothing particularily memorable about it once it finished. I do really like episodic shows though.

I thought about picking this up because of chinese electric batman too, but screencaps and synopsis made it out to be too chuuni for me. Am I wrong?

Season 2 has better pacing than season 1, because it didn't need to introduce, world-build, or explain shit. If season 1 had season 2's plot and pacing, it would be amazing--instead, it's slow.

So you can't really fault season 1 completely, nor can you just skip to season 2. I would just stop watching it if it doesn't engross you--trying to find excuses to watch (or do anything for that matter) is a waste of precious time.

jsut keep watching for the sake of season 2

>everyone in thread being this wrong

It literally kicks in after 12. 10-12ish is the last episodic character story. Everything melds in from then on.
