The great debate.
Why not both?
You're making your dream anime, and you can only choose one of them. Which do you choose?
Iwasaki, no doubt about it.
Neither. Kosaki Satoru.
I don't know who they are
Really? Star Driver and Disappearance were neat I guess, but the rest of his work is pretty lackluster.
If you want to be contrary to the topic at least bring up someone good like Hirasawa or Tanaka Kohei or something.
I like both but man Sawano out done himself on KLK OST.
I like both but if I had to choose anyone it would be Tatsuya Kato.
Good taste for once.
KlK OST really only has several good tracks (at least when talking about the full versions).
Sagisu Shiro or Joe Hisaishi.
For a while I thought they are suppose to represent protagonists from P3 and P4 and we are supposed to choose which one we prefer.
>not Shiro Sagisu
He even made the Bleach OST good. Number One will forever be GOAT.
Eehh Sawano's previous works are better then what he's done for KLK.
Shiro Sagisu anyone?
>KlK OST really only has several good tracks
Do you read what you type? I know you're trying to criticize it, but saying it "only has several good tracks" isn't really an indictment.
I can't remember any of the music from Bake/Nise, other than OPs and EDs.
His soundtrack for 3.0 is one of the few highlights to that trainwreck
Bakemonogatari series is his best work. There's also more to Haruhi than Disappearance. Some of the tracks he did for the original series have essentially become staples of slice of life style anime, copied repeatedly by unknown composers in lower budget anime.
Gods Gift was fucking fantastic.
Holy fuck, something is wrong with you.
Sawano betweeen the two of them
But Shiro Sagisu is the best
It wouldn't be a dream anime if I was only limited to 1.
Why oh why, must a man as talented as Sagisu be the composer of a fucking trash that is Bleach?
it was, but my favorite is a tie between Return to Ash, and Quatre Mains in chamber chords
While I don't think Jun Maeda is the best writer, he does make some great music.
Bleach OST is great though, the 3rd OST is so good, so good.
I recognize it now hearing it. I still don't find it very impressive. I might be biased though, I dislike Monogatari in general.
Oh shit, I had no idea Sagisu was doing the music for Magi. I thought the music sounded familiar.
That's a good thing. It's what the goal of background music should be. His music sets the feel for each scene without being overpowering.
Sure, Sawano and Iwasaki make a few epic themes in each series, songs worth listening to on their own outside the anime, but I don't think composers should be judged on how their music stands alone. It's how it works in the context of the anime that counts. That's what it was intended for in the first place.
With the exception of the 4th OST, the Bleach OST's are amazing
What's wrong with the 4th OST?
Sawano a shit.
I choose the best
I listen to his music on its own anyway. And also, how the music is used has a lot to do with the staff, not the composer. Iwasaki wasn't happy how his music was used in Jojo.
This one and Nothing can be explained (inst ver.) are pretty much the only good tracks on OST 4.
It's not as bad I remembered but still my least favorite of the bleach OST's
The way I see it, tere are 3 different types of anime composers: the bombastic composers who can steal the show entirely (Kanno, Iwasaki, Sawano), the composers who work like film composers and make amazing compliments to the actual show (Hisaishi, Sagisu, Maeda), and the type who fit somewhere in the middle (Tatsuya, Susumu, Taniuchi).
I personally prefer the first type. You don't see that sort of use of music in any other medium and it makes for a pretty unique experience.
Depends on what the anime is about. For a sci-fi series I'd choose Hiroyuki every time.
>Return to Ash
I wish I could hear more of Keiichi Suzuki. His work in No.6 was great.
A rap battle ensues?

LIVING IN A CONCRETE JUNGLE JUST LITERAL
God that OST and sound design was wasted on that shitty show.
C was so much wasted potential it makes me sad.
You just knew shit was about to go down when Return to Ash started playing.
Even if they actually had a budget and more than a single cour, I don't think they were going to pull anything interesting out of the stupid economic Persona premise.
I would have to throw a coin, if I had to choose between the two. Otherwise, Kajiura.
And I was just about to comment on how /a/ was showing exceedingly good taste in this thread with no Kajiura niggers showing up. Oh well.
B-but early Kajiura is excelent. Canta per me is the best fucking song ever.
leave and don't pollute the board any further
I would assume he's saying that as a comparative and not an indicative. In other words, Iwasaki has composed OSTs where it's not just several good tracks, but all of them. So not really criticism.
I love him but he wasn't even the best composer on the one show he did.
You only like that track because of the scene it played during.
Iwasaki is more flexible, Sawano's stuff all sounds too similar.
It's not a fucking debate
Both are saving anime
Unrelated, but Sawano is an attractive man.
Sawano a shit.
>Sawano a shit.
Iwasaki doesn't always make good music.
But I still love it all more than anything generic.
We don't want to fuck them we just like their music
Please don't use terms until you have gotten used to how they are supposed be used.
This may be the most heartwarming piece of music I've ever heard.
