I finished the anime Berserk about a month ago. I know the anime was made to make you want to continue the story in the manga but is it worth it? I heard the golden age arc is the only good arc and the rest is bullshit. Like it takes place on a boat or something. Also, is there more "Guts suffering" in the anime or the manga? Please, no spoilers. Berserk thread, I guess.
>I know the anime was made to make you want to continue the story in the manga but is it worth it?
Yes, the manga is better in every way.
>I heard the golden age arc is the only good arc and the rest is bullshit.
One of the best arcs but definitely not the only good one.
>Also, is there more "Guts suffering" in the anime or the manga?
A lot more in the manga.
Read it and find out.
There's a little more of everything in the manga, as I understand it. It's longer and better fleshed out. It's definitely worth reading if you liked the anime, and there have been roughly 20 volumes since the end of The Golden Age. About 2 or 3 of those volumes have been with Guts and his friends on a boat, but there's been some good Griffith developments during that time as well. People are mostly mad about the boat stuff because of how long the author has been on hiatus.
Yes, in the manga Guts is a boat maker. He makes boats. People complain because first 20 volumes were about making ships.
They got on a boat in 2006 and did fuck all since then.
So what, they're just sitting in a boat or some shit? How many chapters did the anime cover?
> Watching Berserk
What the fuck you're supposed to read that shit otherwise you're missing out on Miura's godly art. If you are wondering if the arcs are shit or not just read the damn thing and form your own opinion.
The anime cuts out lots of important stuff, it's a really bad adaptation.
There's a little bit before that isn't covered by the anime, and a fuckload of stuff after, just read it.
I heard from an unconfirmed source (may just be bullshit) that Miura is picking Berserk back up in a couple of months. Also, there's a live action movie coming out sometime this year, early 2015.
Not trying to be mean. Just saying that only watching the anime will gimp your experience with Berserk. And also it's a pretty quick read anyways. You can just read up to the where the hiatus started instead of asking a bunch of questions
>watching the anime first
If you're gonna read the manga, you have to start from the beginning. Not only is it WAY better, the anime omitted anything that suggested there was a continuation to the story beyond that point.
> I heard the golden age arc is the only good arc and the rest is bullshit.
No, not at all. This is only if you don't realize the symbolism behind the events. Pretty much everything that happens past the anime happens for good reason and fits into the story well.
If you don't mind an unfinished story and can cope with Miura's bullshit, yes, it's definitely worth it.
No you silly faggot, there is so much greatness yet in store. Twisted Edens, fucked up clergy, armored giants, Indian monstrosities, it just gets better and better. Please, keep right on reading. Are you from /v/ or something?
I heard from an unconfirmed source that Miura fucks a blow up doll of Yayoi every night.
Well you heard wrong faggot.
He likes Chihaya better.
why is there so little porn of Puck?
There seems to be very little Berserk fan art in general, which really surprises me considering how long the manga has been going on.
most people get tired of the waiting
