Holy shit, just finished marathoning this.
I thought it was going to be bakemonogatari with less headtilt and fanservice.
I was was not prepared.
You mean it wasn't?
Hitei = Best girl.
The reason I haven't watched it yet is because everyone praising it seems to be utterly retarded.
Do you often post in threads about things you don't watch?
The last ep was bullshit and we all know it.
Yeah, but I never have an opinion on the show itself. It's not like I'm shitting on the anime or anything.
Was just thinking about DLing it, do you give it a rating OP? Do you recommend it?
That was rhetoircal, fuck off retard.
You're bullshit and we know it.
>ITT: /v/ as usual doesn't know that there are more than what the eyes see.
Katanagatari is a story about failure. Fucking suck it up, retards.
No, it wasn't.
Wish I watched it earlier.
I was kinda hoping his sister would be the final boss, though I liked how they handled it. I don't get why the princess started following him though at the very end. How could he forgive her for killing the love of his life?
The last quarter of the anime was pretty weak in my opinion.
You completely missed the point of the ending anon. Togame and Hitei were best friends and distant relatives.
>Love of her life
HAH HAH HAH.
Did we watch the same show?
They pushed failure just for the sake of it. Face it, the ending is shit.
But Hitei did nothing wrong, and she cared about Togame. 7ka didn't kill her after their brief talk, the "Did you hate her?" part
Then why was killing Togame Necessary?
You should take a course in rethoric, then.
>They pushed failure just for the sake of it. Face it, the ending is shit
But it's failure right from the start, anon.
Lord Whoever started the rebellion but FAILED
His father got exiled
The maniwa corps gets eradicated by their leader
Sabi Hakuhei was an almost completed "Complete Deviant Sword" but died
That guy in episode 2 wanted something to protect, but he didn't know what, and ended up alone
Togame was in a constant battle between her fate, and herself, and died before she could conclude any parts of herself
The ending wasn't shit, it's just people who don't understand the story who thinks so (or Togame-fags).
I'm still mad about the lack of a fight with Sabi. And now White Fox is doing stupid shot like Sonico, fuck them.
Did you even watch the last episodes?
Togame tried to restore the timeline.
Hitei Hime tried to distort it.
It was just after Hitei Hime denied her ancestors thwarting attempt (this was AFTER Togame died) that she accepted that she didn't really care about time-line this or time-line that.
We know that it's about failure mr obvious.
I'm saying that they forced failure way too much.
Also the blacksmith succeeded in making the perfect deviant blade.
No he didn't, Shichika wasn't perfect.
>Also the blacksmith succeeded in making the perfect deviant blade.
I never said he did. I said >>Sabi Hakuhei<< was an ALMOST COMPLETED deviant blade.
How did they "force" failure too much?
Because I think your American is showing. You cannot comprehend anything but happy endings.
How is a story about failure supposed to end in anything BUT failure.
>>>Sabi Hakuhei<< was an ALMOST COMPLETED deviant blade.
No he wasn't. He wasn't one period. His mother was, and Nanami killed her.
Stop your shitty attidude, can't you argue like a normal human being without insulting americans?
No I'm not american and if one country knows how to do shitty endings it's japan.
The other guy's no better, honestly.
Explain to me how the ending was shitty then, because I can't see any other satisfactory ending.
My bad, mixed them up
I see this kind of threads again and again. I just can't understand, why every fag keeps calling this animu special, shocking?
Aside from main_girl_dies there was nothing remarkable in it.
Togame should have died with long hair and the last dialog between her and MC was shit.
What the hell does "forced failure" mean?
>the writer literally forced the story to go a certain way
>the last dialog between her and MC was shit
You do realize that it was Togame reflecting upon herself? She managed to discard her fate, dying as Togame the Tactician, not as Yousha Hime as she was destined to be.
>died with long hair
The art style was fun, and the final fight was a few minutes of continuous visual orgasm.
And the soundtrack was composed by Iwasaki.
Nanami was his nee-san, not imouto.
Artstyle and music were both unique and interesting.
As to the story, it was a bit predictable and cliche in some ways, but it managed to either do those cliches really well or put a twist on them to make it interesting.
For example, the whole "Calling out your special attack and spend a minute explaining it" cliche was made interesting just because most of the abilities were really cool and imaginative.
>Togame should have died with long hair
Not that anon, but you are basically saying that the ending is shit because you didn't like how she looked or how she felt about Shichika.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this makes you look like a complete faggot with an incredibly narrow way of thinking
This is based on a novel.
This is the gif that make me pick up this show. I was so disappointed and satisfied at the same time.
i loved everything about katanagatari except for the fucking character development haircuts
FUCK SHORT HAIR
FUCK HAIR CUTS
>you will never tangle yourself up in your waifus hair
Boss rush was so goddamn good.
Seeing Shichika wreck shit without Togame's rules was so fucking awesome.
>FUCK SHORT HAIR
fuck you and your shit taste.
no anon fuck you
Well maybe the ending wasn't that bad at all.
It was a joke, faggot.
No, fuck you!
I'm not even the guy you were responding to!
I like long hair but the scenes where he was eating or licking her hair were just bizarre. I was glad her hair got cut.
I loved this anime, but it made me so fucking angry at some parts.
>skipping the fight
>casually dropping important plot-relevant information in 4th wall breaking bullshit
Nisio is truly a master troll.
Also fuck this guy and his OP guns, he didn't deserve to win half of the battles he fought.
People seriously disliked how he played with her hair?
If you want to possibly read to much into it, you can see it as symbolizing a snake wrapping around her like how it was portrayed in the death scene. After she got her hair cut she started growing closer to Shichika and loving him despite him just being a tool in her schemes.
Nanami cut her hair and burned it in front of a Buddha, she was marrying them.
"He didn't deserve to die, he is so cute, and killing cute things is mean"
That is the logic you guys use.
Emonzaemon was the fucking aspect of loyalty and justice. Pengin was a potential threat. There was not a reason to let him live.
This guy's got it.
Oh yeah that too.
I guess nisio's haircutting bullshit is justified in this situation.
>Watch the series because of this gif
I feel betrayed.
There are thing like these that makes me love this anime.
It was just that without his Deviant Blade giving him a huge edge, he would have lost against all the Maniwa following that shitty sea turtle guy.
Also, I knew that Emonzaemon was in his rights to kill Pengin, but it still made me mad as fuck. I thought he had plot armor after surviving that sword slash, but him dying there just after miraculously surviving was probably the most shocking death.
I was angry at first too.
But it wasn't that bad.
Theme is failure.
Everyone series with 'gatari' in it's name is not part of the Monogatari series.
Retainers did nothing wrong.
Yeah, they are about the only one (along with Maniwa village) that I kind of pity.
The retainers of Akuta Bitou deserved it though.
Did the girl with that "Scales the True" survive?
