When was the last time you fell in love with an anime and marathoned it until you finished?
But I marathon and finish every anime that I want to watch.
It's been a long time.
sketchbook full color
the maidens are falling in love with me OVA's which contains at a particular point a scene that made me cry for bitch tears for reasons i don't think anybody will understand.
"Marathon" is worst tier.
>implying you have to fall in love with an anime in order to marathon it to completion
you should interpret it liberally as 'couldn't stop watching' or something
After-Story. A year and a half ago.
I really liked Kaiji though, so that might also count, and that was like 3 months ago, didn't really marathon it though.
You have no idea how wrong that was.
what? why? i wasn't here when it was released so it's all there. not going to wait a week for more content.
Girls und Panzer.
Best marathon experience yet. I wish it never ended
If that's the case: The answer is still the same. You can always "stop watching" and should.
If there is a good-looking slice of cake, you don't grab a fistfull and shove the whole thing into your face, do you?
Jinrui a few days ago. Before that, Shinsekai Yori after it ended around this time last year.
I marathoned the first 11 episodes of Hyouka yesterday and I plan to watch the rest today
I wouldn't say I fell in love with it, but I gave Shitpudden a chance a long time ago. After the whole Gaara rescue arc or whatever I realized it was less about ninjas doing ninja things and more about wizard powerlevel faggotry. That was the last time I marathoned anything. Never again.
one episode a night, two max
marathoning that'll put you to sleep if you don't die of heart palpitations
Clannad and After Story just this past weekend. Do not regret
You dont marathon iyashikei animes. They are most enjoyable when they are watched before bedtime, every night.
It is a special genre that takes time in order to witness its true beauty.
you all calling me names nigga but i'm not seeing why i should be all offended at yo shit
one of my friends decided to introduce me to cowboy bebop by grabbing a fistful and shoving the whole cake into my face.
>I want to watch it again but at a reasonable pace.
>Most of the story has slipped my mind, so I should be able to enjoy it properly.
So much mech boner.
>that goddamn tank scene
>thinking that is namefagging
Looks like some fool needs to shut-up and lurk more.
i rewatched them a lot, if that helps.
and at that time i needed them, they are truly iyashikei series.
Kiniro Mosaic a week and a half ago
Maybe you both should fuck off and watch some anime or something. Or shitpost somewhere else, whichever you prefer.
Latest marathon was Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka. I didn't fall in love with it but it was alright. Only picked it up because someone posted images of the MC's sister in an incest thread
I have only watched one anime all the way through, and that's Mitsudomoe.
I watched it after it was airing but I finished the whole damn thing without leaving my chair once.
It's rare that I'll watch more than two episodes in a row of something but damn I fell in love with this.
Last Wednesday. House of Five Leaves.
Before that, I don't know. Maybe two years.
Date A Live
Finished it ten minutes ago and wanted to come here and talk about it with someone.
Such is life.
What you meant to say was, you fell in love with Rui.
I got sick for about a month and marathoned all of One Piece. Slow pacing doesn't matter when you can barely get out of bed anyway.
I never got sick of hearing Panzerlied.
The last thing that happened with was One-Outs. I managed to stop at the end of each arc, but that meant I only took two breaks in a two-cour anime.
I don't even like baseball, but this shit is awesome and fucking intense.
All of the monotagari series.
I just marathoned claymore for seemingly no reason at all. I stopped watching at the last 10 minutes of ep 26, jesus what a fucking horrible show.
Manga is much better.
Until that eventually turned to complete shit as well.
A few days ago. Not cause I liked it, but because my internet was out. It was love lab.
Katanagatari a little over a month ago.
I wish I was around for the threads. I'm severely lacking in pics and gifs.
Code Gayass S1, a month or so before S2 was set to air.
What a fucking trainride.
The last show I marathoned was SEED, but it wasn't because I liked it.
Steins;Gate about 6 months ago.
As for "marathoned because i was asked to, not because i wanted to" was SnK and SAO back in november.
group of friends told me to watch them before i judged them. I wish i hadn't it was such a waste of time.
Welcome to the NHK last week, though Satou was almost too painful to watch sometimes.
Baccano, but I was hard NEET at the time, and now my days are segmented into 8 hour chunks at most.
One Outs, just the other day.
How were the post AS feels?
For me it took about a week to wear off.
I lied. I actually only marathon'd seasons 1 and 2.
Same as this anon, finally got round to it on my backlog and wish I started sooner. Next up is Working!
Why would you marathon a show you don't like? Do you have autism?
The anime really fucked up the impact of After Story, in my mind.
In the VN, after Ushio dies, it goes to the final girl in snow chapter, then fades to black and all you see on screen is "goodbye, Papa" and BAM you're on the titlescreen again.
It basically kicks you in the face while you process that the girl and robot are Ushio and Tomoya.
The anime is just "sad" without that impact.
Oh shit. NHK anon here, I was just thinking the exact same thing
Shinsekai Yori two days ago. That was wierd but I loved it.
Fuck why is it blacklisted on bakabt
I never really marathoned any show in terms of watching the whole thing in one sitting. The one closest to it was probably Toradora and Clannad AS, both in the last month. Took two days each to finish.
I lost interest after that one really weird episode. The one after the ninja guy exploded and everyone was making weird faces and day and night became one.
>Do you have autism?
Yes, I'll also be marathoning Destiny soon enough.
Marathoning SoL is makes me sleepy after 2 episodes. It is too boring.
Heh, I "marathoned" this in 3 days as well.
Ace of the Diamond made me look around for baseball anime and I already loved kaiji and akagi and knew this was somewhat similar.
Too bad they stopped at ep 26, still need to try and read the manga though.
Also marathoned love lab recently.
That must be boring. All they do is talk talk talk till the episode ends and they are just talking bullshit.
I have not played the VN yet but I presume you are talking about the non-true ending. And I guess it can be a shock if the VN is the first Clannad material that you get through. I managed to watch Clannad and AS with avoiding any kind of spoilers and I was still quite shocked no matter the ending. Took days to get over that shit, and the experience still haunts me when I hear the dango song or The Place Where Wishes Come True II.
Last week. 15 episodes of Daiya no A and got myself a Husbando.
I once felt compelled to watch Infinite Stratos S1 in one sitting.
>I'll also be marathoning Destiny
You poor bastard.
Clannad; After Story last week.
I wish more anime couples did dirty things.
No, but seriously, it was heart-wrenching.
I don't see how that was Implied.
Jesus, man, are you serious?
Great English dub.
I marathoned Shiki a few days ago. Obviously I was bored.
Read the manga too, it won't disappoint
Madoka over a year ago.
I was shocked by how absorbing it is. Since I would be amazed if any of you have seen it: go do it, it's really really good.
i rewatched Mai Otome in three sittings a couple of weeks ago
that almost counts
I'm gonna start it soon but it looks behind by quite a lot. Namikawa Daisuke's perfect in this role.
Last week, Toradora in 2 days
I was loving queen's blade until this literal titmonster showed up and i had to drop it.
It's really far ahead of the anime, I think the TL is halfway through the entire series though.
Shit was awesome.
I started watching it at 8 episodes in and marathoned it and fell in love with it. It just hit all the right notes.
It'll be a while before I can marathon the One Piece anime again.
Tsuritama and Hyouka.
JoJo around Christmas.
Downloading Accel World right now, might marathon if I like it.
Ghost in the Shell
Why? Such a bad show
I liked Macross 7, but the pacing felt too dragged out most of the time for me to marathon it.
Symphogear and Shinsekai Yori
Sitting in my backlog for months
One of the Natsume Yuujinchou seasons.
That shit had me closer to crying than any other anime
At least it eased the suffering I knew was going to happen. Best girl still won. But that 11 hours though. Also holy shit so much dialogue.
I marathon all anime I watch
Not anime but, Top Gear
Honto ni Atta! Reibai-Sensei
If I had a short anime 9x9, this would definitely be on the list.
I know this feeling
Fantastic Children and Terra E... I guess.
Haibane Renmei. Although I often marathon anime regardless of whether I actually like then or not (worst case was kokoro connect, ugh) I remember being utterly enthralled by Haibane Renmei start to finish. Probably because I was depressed at the time.
My last one was Kodomo no Jikan.
But I usually marathon everything I havent watched if it is interesting enough
I heard about Mushishi getting a second season, so I thought that I might as well watch it
Some of the episodes were pretty anticlimatic but overall it was really good
Before that, after episode 20 or so in LoGH I couldn't stop watching it except after Yangs death for a while .
New to anime, marathoned 28 series so far back to back, no breaks outside of sleep/work.
Pic related, latest completed series.
Last 3, Sword Art Online, Accel World, Angel Beats
Most of the anime I watch these days I watch as it airs, so the love goes on for months.
I think the last anime I truly "fell in love" with was Code Geass. Yeah, it's flawed as hell, especially S2, but honestly that's probably part of the reason *why* I loved it so much.
There's anime I've really liked since then, of course, but nothing that's grabbed me as much as Geass.
Chris-Sempai is magic
Watched every episode of Requiem for the Phantom two weeks ago. Incredible
Probably Highschool DxD
Legend of the Galactic Heroes, tho I marathon it by OP's on my off days.
also havn't completed it yet, after Yangs death I am scared other loved characters will die. I plan to continue sometime soon
First and last time was Legend of the Galactic Heroes, all 162 OVAs + the movies. Also the very last anime I watched
And season 2 better explain why exactly these two are fucking.
That dude looks like such a boss. I'm going to go watch this and play the game.
It's not anime, but I fucking loved Twin Peaks. That ending, though. Damnit.
Boku no Pico.
Yesterday, and I'm feeling so depressed now.
Just a few weeks ago with Accel World.
Would have been so much better if Haru wasn't such a whiny little bitch, I mean I get that he was supposed to be a whiny little bitch, but it was taken to annoying levels
Hyouka, believe it or not
This. NHK was awesome.
Its probably top 10 slice of life shows of all time.
Last week with Jojo. The show made me feel like I was a little kid again watching a Saturday morning cartoon.
Can't. Build Fighters isn't finished ;_;
Why does every Clannad screenshot have these horrifying bug-eyes? I refuse to believe anyone who saw this shit in pre-pro went 'Yeah, that's how it should look. I'm serious. Don't fix that in any instance of its existence.'
I tend to agree with you, though I also think Code Geass had more positives than flaws.
and if two of the hottest babes didn't seemingly fall in love with him for no reason
but that's animu for you...
I can't remember the name but I marathoned this one ecchi manga about a girl looking at a guy through a peephole and all the drama that it causes. Didn't even care for the nudies. I legitimately enjoyed the story. Nudes were cool too.
Very recently with One-Outs.
I-i=I did too. And Nichijou. Both had shit endings where basically nothing even fucking happened. At least Crowds will be fixed in the BD.
I watched all of brotherhood this weekend.
I've been doing this once a year for the last couple, but the last one that I really fell in love with while marathoning it was weirdly enough Girls Und Panzer. I was not expecting it to be good by any means, and I still think that it has one of the single dumbest premises of any show I've ever seen. But for some reason, I just loved the shit out of it and enjoyed myself so damn much it was unreasonable.
>watch a harem
I tend to interpret them liberally enough. Last year I watched Ichiban Ushirou no Daimaou again for it. This year I'm watching Hyakka Ryouran. There are sme things that I watch just because they're terrible though. Shinkyou Soukai Polyphonica and Pretear both come to mind.
Cheat and watch szs. It's sort of a harem.
Finished NGE last month, starting out watching one episode at a time but ended watching like 3 a day
Really didnt like the ending though because Rei was my husbando and he got NTR'd HARD by fucking Rin who had being a dick to Haru the entire season
The last half of Serial Experiments Lain a couple weeks ago.
Just last summer I started Haruhi, then watched it all and the Disappearence. I never knew the places it would take me. 10/10 will do again.
Kill la kill
With how the pacing is its probably better to watch a bunch of episodes at a time rather than one every week.
It was: the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
2 months ago Binbougami
also fell in love+marathoned with Gunbuster+Diebuster but don't they don't really count for marathoning a series
ippo and jojo
I've stopped watching a long time ago since I don't like moeblob series or loli fightan so it was a very long time ago. I think it was Code Geass
I just want to forget about Evangelion so I can watch it for the first time again ;_;
>Marathoned B Gata H Kei
>tfw he never fucked her
Does anything extra happen in the manga?
last time was BTOOOM!, for all it's flaws I enjoyed the fuck out of it and watch start to finish
Funny, that's the reason I picked it up in the first place. Took her far too long to show up though.
When I finally decided to take Pani Poni Dash off my backlog.
This gem. The ones I fall in love with are never the ones I expect.
The Tatami Galaxy a few days ago. I was up all night going thru my backlog and i ended up marathoning episodes 3-11
Hm, still haven't watched it, I guess I'll grab it soon.
Henneko, a few weeks ago my friends and I marathoned it through the night
He fucks her in the manga, twice.
Same here, the ending completely blew me away. I might rewatch it eventually.
Definitely worth a watch. Just be ready to speed read in the first ep.
inb4 shit taste but
>Last half of FMA: B
>Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger
Last week with HxH. I've never been more hooked with anything in my life. I would start the manga right now because the wait for a new episode is hard, but the wait for a new chapter when i get caught up is gonna be worse so I'm putting it off as long as possible.
Pic not related
Natsuiro Kiseki, I don't know how I missed it when it aired, it was great, the girls were lovable, it was fun and cute, the gimmicky with the wishes were hilarious, it had some emotive moments too, watching them grow up and confronting their problems while having fun during all the episode was a great experience, I really loved it.
Spic and wolf. S3 when?
Last time was Shiki, I think it was 2 years ago
Didnt even get up from the seat once sat through the entire thing
>TTGL, Steins;Gate, FMA, Bebop, FLCL, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Evangeleon, Samurai Champloo, Birdy the Mighty: Decoded, Code Geass: LeLouch of the Rebellion, Garzey's Wing
i also caught up the the One Piece Manga in 2 weeks
Kami Nomi. I'd watch all the previous episodes once again when the new episode came out.
Kanon part was shit.
Same here. The only things I've marathoned were GuP, Madoka, and Chuu2
Ok you caught me.
I really liked the rest of the cast too though, but Rui is probably my favorite character of 2013.
jojo's bizzarre adventure like 4 months ago
i almost marathoned index, i watched the first 9 episodes in one siting but it went so downhill from there that it took me like a month to watch both seasons + railgun
She is by far the worst goddess, even generic tsundere Haqua is better.
Pretty much any anime I like.
Most recent was Girls und Panzer.
>Birdy the Mighty: Decoded
I knew there was something I was forgetting. I've had this on my backlog for to long I had planned to watch it before promptly forgetting. The time is upon me.
Have you ever read a manga so bad that you had to marathon it to the end.
I don't even remember the name of the manga but I read like 90 chapters because I couldn't believe how shitty it was. Worst of all it was a romance shoujo manga, I don't know how I found it but fuck.
>Girl being bullied by guy.
>Girl falls in love with bully(?)
>He almost rapes her
>They fall out
>Meets another guy, friends with Guy A
>Tries to rape her to get revenge for something.
>Guy A saves her (?)
>They start dating again, he stops bullying her as much
>Find out her brother loves her.
>Brother is nicest guy, admits his feelings for her
>She rejects it
>she runs away with Guy A
>He starts bullying her again
>They break up
>They get back together again, he's still viciously bullying her.
>Brother becomes a monk
>Nothing gets accomplished
I marathoned the monogatari series pretty hard...fuckin loved it
The manga ending was less depressing.
Like 2 years back
I watched it dubbed as well :^)
Jigoku Shoujo last week.
Banner of the stars last week.
Noucome, last Friday. Shit was fucking cash.
enma is literally best
Kill la Kill. I've been on an anime hiatus for a while and this show brought me right back into it after I marathoned the first 12 episodes and had to wait those 2 painful weeks.
How is Guin Saga? I heard it influenced Berserk and I might give it a watch once I finish Gundam.
Last series I marathoned all the way through were Bubblegum Crisis, Little Busters and Refrain and Rahxephon.
It's sort of a mediocre adaptation. The political intrigue is very protracted, and really shouldn't be dwelled on so long in a visual medium. Especially since it's your typical royalty shenanigans with marriage and lines of succession.
Outside of all the background nonsense that I found hard to get engaged with the parts focusing on Guin, Remus, and Rinda I enjoyed. The did a good job of painting the large world, and the scale of their journey. I feel like they could have gone through more of the material still, though I've heard that at some point the story slows down and gets bogged with homoeroticism.
This is actually a regular occurrence for me
Starting with last summer:
>Naruto + Naruto Shippuuden
>can't remember a few
>Kill la Kill (watched from not seeing any to episode 14 without leaving my chair once)
Hajime No Ippo.
I think most people would fall asleep trying to marathon this but I found myself going through it really quickly.
dog days and hidan no aria a couple of weeks ago
Kurenai. Literally the best loli character in all of anime that I've seen so far, and then it all went to shit in the second half. Such potential squandered.
The first episode of .hack//sign was literally the worst episode of anything I've ever seen.
Are you me anon?
>You dont marathon iyashikei animes.
What is this? This stupid rule, this guideline of yours?
Watch before the fucking bedtime? Are you mentally challenged?
Code Geass, both seasons
I'm completely serious--this was over four years ago. Haven't marathoned anything since.
I don't even consider it one of my favorites, but damn was it interesting.
The idea is that it'd get boring. Like, a massage? Yeah, fantastic. A twelve hour long massage? No thank you.
Lotte no Omocha a few weeks ago.
If by "marathon" you mean "two episodes before bed every day"
A few months ago when i watched OreImo
It's a mood-setter, but what good is a mood-setter if you use said good mood just for watching more of it?
Persona 4 the animation. I did it in a day.
Also did Madoka in a day.
Oreimo is my most watched anime of all time (excluding stupidly long stuff like Naruto)
For a while when season 2 was still airing, I would re-watch Oreimo from the beginning of season 2 and end with the new episode. After a while it got tiring so I'd just watch the previous episode before the new episode, but a couple times I actually watched all the way from the beginning of season 1 to the end of season 2. Haven't done that since the last three episodes came out because that's the kind of ending I can only handle once.
>Also did Madoka in a day.
You missed the best part of the show. I am sorry for your loss.
>Also did Madoka in a day.
I remember marathoning Eva, then the next day I watched all of Madoka and then the Madoka movies right after.
I did the same thing with One Outs. Watched 5-6 episodes a day mostly, fit my schedule well and was damn addictive.
Band of Brothers.
I mean Aoki Hagane.
AnoHana and Madoka
I recently marathoned Mirai Nikki. Does that mean I loved it?
Back at the beginning of October when I first started to really watch anime I marathoned Toradora, Watamote, and Oreimo. Nothing has been nearly as magical since.
I did that right before the new year. And that's how I fell in love with Key.
In the sub I watched Nagisa said they were having sex. I like yours more; it seems more likely she'd say that.
JUST finished it
