Best Key girl.
Shiori a love
That's not Tomoyo
First Beat confirmed GOTY 2014?
Kud is olev
I love you kud.
I love you.
hahah oh wow i am so tired tonight
That's not ***.
That's not best Key key.
Why choose one girl when you can have two?
Is she? I don't really think so.
I'll never understand people with Key waifus, it's like they like seeing their waifu suffer.
we tripcoding now?
P-pls, It's not like you chose who you love. Plus She's not suffering anymore she's only happy now
You can't choose who you fall in love with.
I'm re-watching angel beats, I've forgotten how much I liked it. I am so hyped.
They better have new Gidemo songs in there.
>They better have new Gidemo songs in there.
Maeda already said they won't because of the tight schedule.
Some of us just like coming on here and posting the same thing every day. It's cathartic.
Get ready to re-enjoy the incredible ending, replete with a forced romance subplot completely out of left field and a plot hole too big for dead key girls to fill.
Angel Beats had a lot of promise, but ultimately failed to deliver.
But she is strong and will make it through all the suffering and be stronger after it. And now is the afterwards.
I hope they can. In three years they can fit them in there somewhere.
Nigga, it's gonna be 6 volumes and cover all the members. The whole point of it is to do what the anime couldn't.
Not straight away, but chances are the later OSTs will include some new ones. Hell maybe later volumes will even if we're lucky.
But the promise is what the VN will use. And they can totally change any shortcomings from the anime. And with more time to develop everything I doubt it will feel as "forced" (I hate this word).
That was some of the best parts of the anime, I would love to see more in the VN.
Goodnight. May you have good dreams of your Key girl.
I'm so looking forward to it. Biggest pitfall was how rushed the anime was. the Vn is gonna be fun. and i can not wait for more key music.
no, it was my mistake I didn't want to use it
Doesn't that seem a bit much to you though? Six volumes? I don't know about you, but I really didn't like the bloat Key forced you to live with in Little Busters--you had to play every route to get refrain, but most routes were far short of refrain in quality. That kind of system seemed reasonable in Air, where you only had three heroines, but it really weighed down LB. Separating Angel Beats into six releases feels like all of these same problems worked into a new profit model.
But there isn't a better word for it. There was absolutely zero romantic buildup and all of a sudden MC was supposed to be tears-streaming-down-his-face in love with this chick.
And yeah, they can probably completely rewrite Haruhi's route, and if Maeda or Leo is behind it there's potential there. But let's not get ahead of ourselves--Tenshi's route would need a lot of help. Even if they explain away the impossibility of the whole situation by creating some pre-purgatory for MC to live in before meeting her, let's not forget that Tenshi ended up rejecting him anyway (maybe the only thing about the ending arc that made sense, given that he confessed to her out of nowhere, but still not fun to watch).
New OST is quite possibly the best thing to come out of an Angel Beats VN.
But CLANNAD has the same system as LB and even had more routes. It worked there perfectly.
>But there isn't a better word for it. There was absolutely zero romantic buildup and all of a sudden MC was supposed to be tears-streaming-down-his-face in love with this chick.
Yeah that's what happens when you get people who make 40-50 hour VNs to write a 4 hour anime. The same problem appears in other VNs that got really shortened such as chaos;head, or Air. Biggest issue of the anime was development, and that's exactly what a VN gives it.
Do we actually have a confirmed list of all the heroines yet or just the ones in the first volume?
First volume has Yurippe, Yui, and 5dan routes.
Kotori a best.
Now I have to save another waffle because you used my only one. It's not a bad thing though.
Err, not Yurippe, Iwasawa. My bad.
Here have a nice one. They're all nice
I knew about the first girls, but we don't have any list on who is covered in the later volumes do we (aside from the obvious two)?
Nope, they're not going to reveal that kinds of thing. It's obvious they'll keep it until a few months before each new volume comes out.
Don't forget that Ryou's path was optional, so it's the same number of mandatory routes. I honestly think a large part of the reason things worked better in Clannad was that they stuck to their formula of sarcastic, witty straight-guy MC vs moemoe ditzy girls. LB had reasons for the effeminate protagonist, but it made a lot of scenes agonizing. I don't know if Angel Beats will have that benefit, but you make a good point; it won't necessarily be as big of a problem as it was in LB.
Angel Beats was an anime from its inception though. Key had a good relationship with KyoAni at the time, and they worked together to do their best Haruhi impression. This time the problem was with Key's own script, not with a rushed adaptation.
But.. angel beats was P.A.works. The problem is literally that nothing was developed and everything was rushed. Which is exactaly what a VN gives them a better chance to do. What they did is write too big, in their usual style which would have been fine in a VN original. Hell if the anime was 24 eps instead of 12 it would have been that much better.
The writers just aren't cut out for anime, well not at that length it's just not their style.
Not all of them suffer, to bad, ok to be a Key girl you have to have some sorta fucked back story. But in the end they are cute and that's all that matters
Thats not Mare!
Ah yes I was looking for the Lucia thread
Thanks mang, I found another waffle too.
Oh, you're right. I can really only hope you guys' theory that more AB will make for better AB has merit. While there are pitfalls to taking an extended body of work and shortening it into an anime, good editing should produce a good result if the quality is already there (Steins;Gate). But taking an incomplete script and drawing it out into a six volume LN just feels like a highly suspect design to me.
Inoue route when?
I am worried about hitting all those high points slower.
I'm hoping they manage to fill it with strong character interaction and comedy, because I have to admit I'm not hyped for any heroines.
Maeda already had the story, it's just that they didn't give him enough budget for enough episodes so they had to rush shit.
Glad to help, that's one of my favorites they're all one of my favorites
You'll find all their VNs actually start with incredibly hashed up broken stories like AB was, LB was literally just "Hey maeda i want to head some character design, here's some really rough ideas on the girls". Rewrite was "I really liked the cross channel author let's do something similar" It wouldn't surprise me at all if maeda already intended to make a VN when he finished the anime they were busy with rewrite at the time so there was no way they'd have gone straight onto it then.
I'm not disagreeing with you man, but that's speculation so I'd caution against you spreading it as fact.
AB really doesn't seem like something Maeda would write though. It's too rushed and leaves out too many plot holes.
Like I said, speculation.
It's not hard to guess that they might have wanted more episodes but we have literally no information on what happened.
What do you mean by plot holes? I can only think of one: how Takamatsu escaped from being an NPC.
That's not cockroach
Pretty much what I'm worried about. Filling the game with heroines isn't that great of an idea when most of them weren't fleshed out in the anime.
Let's be honest, how many good scenario writers does Key still have? Maeda is doing less and less work with each release--we'll be lucky to get two routes from him. Ishikawa is gone. The most competent writer they have left is Kashida, but even he admits that he had the advantage of being able to spend all of his time developing just one route. I don't even know if he's working on Angel Beats.
He's not filling the game with heroines, he's giving routes to the members of the SSS. That includes the dudes.
>Let's be honest, how many good scenario writers does Key still have? Maeda is doing less and less work with each release
Just who do you think is writing the scenarios? He intends to make this his magnum opus.
>implying he'll ever top After Story
Good luck anyway.
After the Touika route.
Hey man, after years of not writing scenario I'm sure he can still pull one on us. You just gotta wait and see.
And that's my queue to sleep
What if he has become a one trick pony like some people say?
He was always a one trick pony. It's just that he shows the trick in different flavors so they aren't noticeable.
But Air and Clannad are radically different, whereas LB and Clannad are alike.
I only want to play TK's route now.
Really? That's hopeful, but he did step down as lead scenario writer a long time ago. I did find this on wikipedia though:
> Developed by Key, Maeda leads the production team as the game designer and one of the scenario writers. Two additional writers include Kai, who previously contributed on the scenario of Clannad, and Leo Kashida, who had worked on the scenario of Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life and Little Busters!.
Kashida being involved is good news. Where did you get that he's going to be more heavily involved in this than LB?
The girl you like is either gonna die or already dead. It's been fine so far though, hasn't it?
Would you eat her sweets?
They also lost Suzumoto, who pretty much single-handedly did Planetarian and was also part of Air and Clannad. They are actually bereft of talent compared to where they were in their prime.
Yeah, Air stands apart from the rest because it sucks.
If the trick is making lovable characters with emotionally impactful storylines, he can keep going with it for as long as he wants. That's not a negative.
>using "forced" anything
Rethink your existence.
>Yeah, Air stands apart from the rest because it sucks.
Them be righting words, anon.
>Air stands apart from the rest because it sucks.
Fight me irl cunt
> quite literally the worst taste
Stick to Halo.
Who is worst Grisasia?
Is it Makina? Because I feel like it's probably Makina. I walked away from that the moment she tried to make me daddy.
It's ok. I just don't like a single thing about any of Air's characters or story. It's dull compared to everything else.
Well to be fair the side heroines are forgettable as fuck. The common route is boring (except misuzu's scenes), the side routes suck. I can see how people don't like it. Still better than Kanon in my book.
Still don't know what people find to this retard.
>ah it's funny she's pretending to be a tsundere and she doesn't even hide it
>joke got stale 1 hour in
>still going anyway
>annoyed everytime she's on screen
>go on 4chan, everyone loves her
Because you're apparently retarded
>Still don't know what people find to this retard.
Then I'm sorry to say, but you're retarded.
It really bothered me why she kept calling him papa long after she should've stopped. It hurt the integrity of the route, which otherwise had a solid plot.
Makina a shit.
You just don't get it
...news of your taste has broken out across America.
"We just don't market to that audience" said David Taiclet, CEO of the confectionery company Fannie May. "Some people weren't meant to enjoy things."
Others have responded with more concern--including acclaimed film director, Chris Nolan. "When I think about making the next Batman, and then I think about that guy, well, I just don't know. With people like him around, I don't feel like directing. What does it mean to enjoy things? Isn't it just like, serotonin arranging a certain way after receiving some kind of pattern in your brain when exposed to stimuli?"
Minagi was pretty interesting. Kanon's soundtrack was a cut above and every character except Nayuki was great.
Best Grisasia is easy to understand isn't it?
Ama-nee would make the best wife, hands down. However, that doesn't necessarily mean she's the best girl.
That's not Asuho.
What does this have to do with anything?
It is more relevant than all the Grisaia.
Will Goro's rampage ever stop?
michiru a shit
Am I the only one who found Grisaia to be extremely boring and not very good?
I downloaded it because of all the hype at the time.
Wasn't as good as I expected.
Only if Magical Girl Kagarin saves the day
Nothing happened in the character route that I even remeber. There were few good moments here and there I suppose but a few good moments in a VN doesn't cut it.`
No, it's pretty mediocre.
The hype is largely exaggerated.
I doubt he will ever touch the Rewrites
Kagari is very safe since almost no one likes her.
As long as shizuru is safe I will be happy.
