"Your favorite Horizon will always live in your Log's mind, even after countless deaths!!" Edition.
>Question Log [SLIGHTLY UPDATED AS PER LAST THREAD]
>[PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GREEN TEXT ANY NEW QUESTIONS AND LINK TO OP]
>Questions will be asked individually, not in one clump.
If Mamare came back to 4chan tomorrow for another Q&A, what would you ask him?
>Use the best Log Horizon wiki
>Log Horizon Raws 1 through 6
>Skythewood's translations up through Volume 6
>Mamare-san's world information translated from the Google Docs
>Log Horizon Baka-tsuki edited translations through Volume 5
>Log Horizon translated supplementary information
The penis questions were added, time for everyone to be mad about it.
Green Green saved Australia (for now), but the Monks are still punching spiders barehanded.
Have nice dreams.
Shameless bump of justice.
The XP Pots are indeed shown in episode 6. Thanks to whoever led me there.
It was me indeed, the OP, I just remembered it was Episode 6 because it was a bit before the Round Table conference.
Either way, glad to be of help!
Does anyone know when the tabletop will be released?
ok then heres a link to a page that sells pic related for about $8. little paint and you have an exp pot. add vodka and some pink jolly rancher.
Within a month is the estimate.
I want to know when we'll get a Log Horizon VN/3DS game.
>This Pastebin has been removed
Goddammit /a/, get your shit together.
Here is a decanter that could e modified into an xp pot.
God fucking damn it /a/.
its a decanter I found some but they are tiny. like 25 mm tiny.
>Person deleted pastebin because they are butthurt
>Little do they know others have copies saved in their hard drives as well
I'll post the questions in another post and pastebin soon, let me gather up others that I did not include to update the log, just a moment.
Here's the link to the previous pastebin:
I don't know how you fucked it up, but you did.
Why are we using wine decanters for the EXP pot?
they look the same
That one was updated, someone just deleted it, that's simple as that. There was no "fuck up", just butthurt from an anon. Either way, I have it saved as well, so no one has to worry about actually losing the questions.
That's what I meant by fuck up, deleting it and such.
At least someone has the updated questions to repost, good.
Why doesn't Shiroe enlist aid from his friends at Hogwarts?
God I need it!
I don't the guy who can make proper props wants to take the time to learn glass blowing up to a decent level. I think xp pots are modeled after decanters anyway.
>A container for a somewhat valuable consumable liquid.
much smaller but only $5 each
Just don't devolve into a general thread with nothing but image dumps to keep it alive
Even better. You could easily put those in the bag you made.
LH generals are just about the entire concept.
What else would you expect from an anime about a video game which is real life but with some rules anyway?
yeah, gonna have to buy a few. but not till Im done with everything else.
Not image dump threads, if there's nothing to talk about, just let it die
So do we know if the tabletop game will have the other regions classes from the survey Marmalade put out or does that needed to be added to the list of questions? So would a Berserker have a short ability that prevents them from being charmed or sleeped?
Everything that they've said about the game indicates that it just covers the Japanese server
Hmm. /tg/ will most likely aid us in out time of need until we get official content then. This seems like something they'd like.
What server region is New Zealand part of and can they call for aid from their version of Rohan?
the part nobody cares about.
Because there's nothing but sheep?
The TL-group finished the first chapter of the Greatest Party Ever.
SEA server, right? Maybe Australia.
Even though it's Japan-exclusive, I for one hope /tg/ lends a hand. Not that there'd be much to translate besides character sheets and such, since the skills are already translated, but yeah, any help is welcome.
Eh, I doubt LH threads would become image dump only.
One day we'll be able to see it all, that'll be great. Did you manage to send the bag image to Mamare-san, Pipeline?
Thank you for sharing so quickly!
>Not that there'd be much to translate besides character sheets and such, since the skills are already translated
I don't think you seem to understand how a roleplaying game works.
Where did you get the idea that the skills on the wiki are the only ones?
Each is just a small sample of the abilities for each class.
Not to mention all of the subclass abilities we don't know of.
>Did you manage to send the bag image to Mamare-san, Pipeline?
nope, cant speak moonrune and cant make twitter work, dont have an account.
>“Then, let’s get started. Haa. <Crystal Stream>! Blood of my hidden fairy clan! To crush the enemies before me, lend me your strength!”
Too chuu2 for me Elias.
waiting for pipiline-anon to report in..
Aww fuck. I live in South Texas. I'm stuck on the Mexican server.
But you're not.
So how much content is the anime going to cover up to?
End of book 5
just to give you some idea about how our threads go, the last thread was 511 posts long, of which only 84 had images.
don't worry, we're all about the speculah and concepts of game mechanics here.
he's already posted in the thread once. he may be busy working on something. see >>101066179
someone, preferably with an existing twitter, should share Pipeline's bag for him. We all know beyond a doubt that Mamare-san would dig the shit out of it.
Requires someone that knows moon.
Can I dump some spiders then?
I see Pipeline-anon can't be stopped
I support this a lot.
He could probably figure it out even in (simple)english, if you send him a comparison pic.
I oredered the bottles I talked about earlier. Gonna make some mini exp pots. And a large apothecary potion bottle. I can't do much work on it till Saturday as most of what's left is woodworking.
I have a list though now I need to make round table tie baubles too.
Cloak with a massive hood.
Bracers- his looked grey and might just be sleeves
Any more things you guys think of that you think would do good just say it and I will try to do a draw up.
You probably already have that belting on him, and I shouldn't even have to mention adjustable glases.
The glasses are going to be the most wonky. I already use glasses because my eyes are shit, so they won't be the same shape.
I already glasses adjust with my middle finger.
You just made me chack what kind of glasses he wears, because somehow I never really cared about it, and made me realize that he has a pleb taste in glasses.
I also noticed that several characters I see in anime lately have glasses without top frames, while lots of people I know have glasses without frames on the bottom (like me).
I guess nippons have some stuff backwards.
it took me a while to think of something appropiate Pipeline-san, but how about this:
Rudy's Magical Gauntlets?
clearly Krusty has best test in frames.
when one bridge just doesn't cut.
I agree, I should get new glasses sometime soon, I wonder if i can get similar frames. Not sure if it's that cool in 3D though, and on my face.
Need to get myself a griffon or a princess or something.
Oh shit, I just noticed they're double-bridged. What a classy guild leader.
I didn't want to spend money, but..
so... so close...
but they're top frames, not bottom frames.
still, those are some nice specs. 8/10, would adjust
they look like my old frames.
But seriously, why glasses so modernly exists in ET while their technology is not enough to make a modern glasses.
I'm not a big fan of bottom frameds, I intentionally looked for this type. Not sure I'd want the exact same ones, just because Krusty gets all the pricesses.
I can't even find any bottom frames, even on google.
Wish I had a great taste like that back when i got mine.
They have magic?
Rule of cool in mmos
Generally, I'd guess it's because their features adjusted to what they are like out of the database, but even then, glasses out of nowhere don't make that much sense, So it's either as anon says here >>101084727
Or even Mamare couldn't answer the question about the relation of eyesight and glasses in the database.
It seems to be an awful issue to get your glasses broken in there.
Sorry anon but Misa pic obligatory in every thread
We should do "/a/ sings Database
I wonder, does glasses counted as an accessory item or it's a feature to customize your character appearance alongside with height, weight, face, body, etc?
>Phantasmal class glasses
Bullshit, considering the length of Vol. 4 they're gonna cover that and go with some half-assed original ending at the most.
We'll never see animated Nureha ;_;
/a/ already did that and it turned out not that well.
How about fuck off and I think there is already one
Why is Minori such a shitty exp leecher?
In lots of games now, especially D&D online and even normal D&D you could have magic glasses, BUT, if glasses were accessory items, then everyone would wear some, protective glasses for crafters at least. And they didn't seem to be special in any way, they don't even look magical in design.
maybe the game had the option to hide certain items like helmets since you only see certain players wear them, also that would explain Michitaka
Yes, exactly what I though, but someone said that it was a confirmed bug, that he could glassesadjust.
She's right for adding all that sugar.
Holy shit, The Greatest Party Ever is so good. More translations!
That amount can't even dissolve in such a small cup. She's the kind of girl who hands you a cup to wash with a layer of sugar stuck on the bottom of it.
I'd still give a kidney to date a girl like her
I've got two questions which have been bugging me for a while. Are people of the land able to join guilds if they obtain relevant permissions, and is it possible to just record all your memories on paper so that you don't technically lose your memories when you die?
1. No idea
2. No. Memories don't work like that. Once you forget something it's not yours and if it's retold to you by an outside medium it's just like a story with no personal attachment towards it.
But Crusty's lost memories seemed to be on the tip of his tongue. I'm sure if somebody reminded him, it'd probably trigger the retrieval of them.
>it's just like a story with no personal attachment towards it.
Yea, they explicitly stated this in the episode where they revealed memory loss. They said something along these lines: if you lose too many of your memories, your own life will seem like you're just a spectator in it.
So even being reminded wouldn't be enough.
Well Krusty propably still had the cat before the apocalypse so he'd be suspicious of suddenly forgetting its name after dying.
Documenting your own memories would be even more imperative though. The knowledge surrounding technology of earth before the apocalypse still exists, and it'd be a damn shame if that was lost entirely
Memories aren't isolated, as the brain is a network of relationships, so you're right about connectivity being able to bring things back. But it's better to think of the removal here as an "invisible block" rather than a "deletion". For example, you could recall a pet cat's color, favorite food, where it slept, behavior, etc, but not its name. If someone else told you the name, you might accept their word for it, but it wouldn't spark any "Oh yeah" confirmation.
That's how most of my childhood memories work.
and that's because he's died only twice
When you're so gud you need two bridges to hold in the beast within you. Krusty has the best frames indeed.
1. No clue but it should be possible with a contract? They'd probably have to become Adventurers though. Like Rudy.
Always be sure to post Misa pictures with a dash of sugar.
Reading the first volume right now.
I know how you can use skills to slow enemy movement speed and stuff, but if you just swing your sword and cut through someone's leg muscle does it affect them at all, or does it just hurt and lower HP?
Oh god Log Horizon has suffering too.
I believe it just hurts and lowers their HP, unless it's a skill with an added flavor text, like "(...) by striking the enemy's leg muscle, thus decreasing their speed considerably."
Aw yeah. I can't wait for C85.
>I can't wait for C85.
4 ntr doujins and 3 yaoi.
Do normal attacks do more damage if you attack certain areas? Like if you slit someone's throat or pierced an organ, would it do more damage?
I keep looking at shires cape and I'm starting to think its a blanket or square cape. Basically just a long blanket sinched and pinned at the neck. This would explain the hugeass hood.
Also would simplify making it into just sewing yellow strips onto white material.
GOD DAMN IT.
Even just a few one-shots of Misa or General NEET would suffice.
Maybe it'd count as a critical? Some skills (as shown by Touya in the episode/chapter where they escape Hamelin) target specific areas, like the throat, so yeah.
It really looks like it's just a square cape.
Back to the time when ET was a game, damage point has its range, not counting critical, miss, or block. But after Apocalypse, I still don't sure if you decapitate someone, your opponent will die for sure.
Yes, if you cut someone's throat they will die even if they are lvl 90.
Interesting. Thanks for explaining.
Winter wizard set and parka. Nice.
Is this about that time Kanami made them go on a transatlantic quest, just so they could realize they were missing one of the key items after getting to the end?
it looks like his staff turned into an energy scyther, hmm
Everyone got new equips.
I'd like to believe so.
So I'm close to finishing my other backlog ln readings which puts this next.
What can I expect to be in for? By that I mean comedy, romance, action, and other shenanigans.
I'll abstain from asking about comparisons to other stories using similar settings simply because I don't like judging a series based on ones with similar aspects.
Tell me you're lying, man. I need my vanilla Shiroetsuki and my Akatsuki, Henrietta and Minor competing to see who can give more pleasure to Shiroe Doujins.
Why don't they just forget what they had for dinner?
Nope, only goblins and hamelin raping.
Who's the Twintails?
Also, holy shit, everyone is at least 3 level beyond Lvl. 90, is this Vol. 7 images?
It's Tetra, a shemale in love with Naotsugu. And yes it's vol 7.
politics, some action, politics, romance and sometimes comic relief
Politics, keikakus, business deals, cute girls, and brains over brawn.
By shemale, you mean man roleplaying as woman or what?
Can bards do illusory magic?
Don't forget the most important part.
Man logged into his girl character during the apocalypse.
Well now I'm a bit more interested.
That doesn't do anything for me because I'm not watching the anime.
There's hardly any /glasseadjust in the LN.
As I've understood it, a "tabletop" is a computer with a touchscreen within a table? Is this correct?
Living the dream.
Goddammit, translations for Vol. 7 can't come soon enough.
By tabletop people are discussing the tabletop Log Horizon RPG (like dungeons and dragons) that is being released in a month or so.
Goddamn it Serara, why do you always have to be a little bitch, nigga?
Reminder that Akatsuki is the best Girls by the Strawpolls
Animeonlyfags don't know about the glory of Nureha and they can't truly appreciate the whole beauty of the NEET Princess.
but volume 6 is where Akatsuki shines, nigga. It really gives her more character depth, ya feel?
Nureha is the best and also pretty sad.
I love tragic ladies.
Oh I get it, it's a traditional rpg where you throw dice right?
I want my Marielle and Tetra trio with Naotsugu using Castle Of Stone ;_;
I look forward to this
I've been liking Akatsuki more since Vol. 5 actually, I just like Nureha More because of her attitude and because I sympathize with her I understand why some would not like her she's still my waifu though
You I like
Is that sir Bearinton?
NEET princess if my favorite character, though mainly because she reminds me of Watashi.
That's probably the point the other anon was making tbh? The only thing we have to go off of for her is kicks the tank, likes shanking goblins, has a chibi complex.
Even Minori has more development in the anime so there's something to like/dislike about her.
Tablebase! Tablebase! Rolling on the tablebase!
I sure hope so.
I'd spoon Misa.
>party to hunt weapon
>people dicing for gears not for their class
>people dicing for gears not for their class
The scene where the scrub team was deciding what to do with the gauntlets infuriated me.
>Have one mage in the party
>Get item for mage
>"Hurr, what do we do with it?"
>I'd spoon Misa.
Teaspoon or tablespoon?
>them bare Akatsuki thighs
They all agree to give it to him in the novel almost immediately. That's dice rolling is anime only padding nonsense.
I'd do that all day and night. I'd make a whole gambling den for that kind of thing. Possibly inside a dungeon.
Novelfag here, Nureha is shit.
Not missing, Kanami forgot it.
It's wings, the item description describes how it can produce wings of energy from the top.
Not that anon but truckspoon.
I'd be fucking pissed...
Would you play tabletop games with Mamare as your DM?
Where I can find LH doujins?
He's an experienced storyteller and tabletop player. I also bet he always has to DM the games he's invited to. Most definitely yes.
>“It’s the Turtle.”
>Thus, even to the most illmannered phrasing of the question, Leonardo counters with the most stylish response imaginable.
>What’s that shape? It’s the Turtle.
>What does it mean? It symbolizes the Turtle.
>Why does your red mask only cover your eyes?
>Because it is Ninja.
>Why a ninja turtle?
>It was chosen because it was cool.
Oh my god, I thought people were joking when they said Leonardo was a TMNT cosplayer. How based can you get?
Most of us would be. it's way less endearing than the novel seems to think it is.
It makes a a pretty good reason for why she was never in a guild. No guild could tolerate so much ditziness unless they planned all fights with her not being there in mind.
He even says cowabunga.
Next comiket. Hopefully.
Silly anon, there will only be kancolle works in the next comiket
Is that really gonna be the next touhou? Its popularity is insane.
Is the bully going to post more about Serara? Not even joking when I say I beat my meat till my dick hurt reading those stories.
Why would you want more of that?
That Anon is so mean...
Which Log would you Horizon?
That doesn't even make sense but it would be Akatsuki.
It's hard to chose, because this show hast the highes rate of miracles of the universe per minute I've ever seen. I'd pick Isuzu.
Akatsuki, Isuzu or Tetra
Thanks for getting me to google Sir Bearington, I needed that.
Is /tg/ always this hilarious?
It has its days.
Rarely, but it really hits the spot sometimes.
Its ridiculous how best every female is in this game.
Maybe it's cause they are video game characters, and thus are meant to be perfect.
Marmalade should write a harem show, I bet it would print money.
Reynessia she'd probabaly just lay there, switching expressions between boredom and pleasure as I do all the work that's my fetish
I would bully Serara endlessly.
We would both be deletiously happy.
Misa of course
Bullying someone doesn't make them happy.
Then you could hide one day and watch her pout for a bit.
>Bluff guard to convince him you are taking over his shift
>You've convinced yourself. You spend the rest of your life as a guard.
I think it's interesting that the automatic translation system isn't perfect even after the Apocalypse. I thought they'd just say everyone can understand each other because MAGIC, but apparently there is still some calculations being done under the hood.
If that were to happen, Leonardo had to join them in death.
>Of course he thought it stupid, but following others into folly is a geek thing. As a born New Yorker,
>Leonardo has his sense of pride.
>Even if nobody else understood, to call himself a turtle ninja was to be an
ally of justice.
>Not staring at a woman’s ass.
This shit must be animated. Must.
Important question: Can Monks in Elder Tales grapple?
I think I know what character I'm making when the TTRPG is released.
The only sad thing is, if it ever is animated, he wont have a New Yorker accent speaking Japanese.
Serara loves it.
No time for love, there are dungeons to crawl and skeletons to befriend.
I laughed at it for about 5 minutes, don't remember loling this hard on 4chan for a while.
>And that was the story of how I made it to level four
That's a glorious ending, but I'm pretty sure you have no way to grapple a dragon unless you are some special huge necromorph or construct, because of the grappling rules.
>You automatically lose an attempt to hold if the target is two or more size categories larger than you are.
>can I charge through a wall?
>sure but the doors open and it probably won't be very effective
>rolling to charge through the wall
>20, you make a dwarf shaped hole in the wall.
>later fighting the big bad
>what do you do?
>I make a dwarf sized hole in him.
Also another good one.
>players cause avalanche
>character can't get away
>I roll to intimidate
>the snow stops and rolls back up the mountain. Never causing another avalanche again.
You're into animals?
Ewww. At least you're not into disgusting fatblobs like Serara I guess.
I haven't actually played D&D before (i plan to) but couldn't the DM just overrule that rule, i mean who wouldn't in that situation
And I checked it out in the meanwhile, there are tiny, young dragons, with stats that are easy to grapple (though their ability to fly with a luchadore on their back can be doubted), I just never met them in any adventure.
So it can be true after all.
That arrow is on the wrong side of the bow
But it's not.
it is? pretty much anyone ive seen use a bow always puts in on that side
Everyone puts it on the side of their dominant hand, it's not on the wrong side at all
>he wrong side of the bow
Have you ever even show a bow? Its on the right side. The only issue is that he's drawing it to what looks like behind his ear and way off his face. Pretty shit technique.
MMO player technique.
Although it's not a daikyū, that drawing style is pretty normal if he's done any sort of kyūdō.
Yeah, this is a right-handed bow,
He is right though. I ALWAYS knock my arrows on the opposite side of the hand Im drawing with.
not me but pic related
which means you draw with your right hand, the arrow would be on the left side of the bow.
besides eye dominance is more important than hand dominance with bows.
Depends on archery style.
Fuck you're right. I sure feel silly. I don't even know how I mixed that up. No excuse.
I guess so, I shoot a longbow.
What made you choose that?
If your other eye is dominant you'd pick the left handed bow. If you see archery everyone cross-pulls because you'll naturally tilt your arm and (especially with those old bows) risk the arrow falling out the front or flying off and possibly breaking
Wow, I've never seen somebody shoot like that.
I was always taught to use my thumb as a platform for more control.
because I like to shoot primitive archery more than I like recurve or pullies. I have a bear 55 lb longbow. the stacking is hell on your arm when you draw.
That's actually how far you are supposed to draw a bow back to, you need the extra distance to make full use of its draw weight, do you even Richard III?
really? I never use my thumb and always pull towards my chin. just past my mouth.
William probably knows Kyudo or something, even though his bow isn't exactly the right type, it matches his draw and arrow placement.
Her hand is curled around the bow too, I wouldn't take this as any measure of gospel truth in technique.
He's holding it waaay further back than that. But there's jap archery and MMO power-shot shit or whatever,
Yes, but not at that angle. I pull it along my shoulder, sometimes to my lip, depending on distance.
He draws it to his ear, that's weird.
I never shot one stronger than 40lb, but always wanted to.
Three fingers is usually called the Mediterranean style draw.
How much worse than a recurve. (I used to compound with a bit of recruve every so often)
>Implying you're trying to siege shit these days
The dude would have pulled it back further than your pic and off his face by like heaps. Its sloppy as fuck. 'Sides its not like he's going to be doing the whole step forward and push thing either.
>I never shot one stronger than 40lb, but always wanted to.
I learned on a 55 lb. It hurts like hell when you slap your wrist but you learn to keep it out of the way, thats why the girl above is curving her wrist a bit, otherwise you slap the fuck out of your inner arm.
If kanami is in elder tales, why hasn't shiroe tried to contact her or the other way around? Why did the tea party fall apart? Does that mean that no one has kanami on their friendlist?
Another server, and another character, so she's not added and you can't use telepathy cross severs. She had to move overseas and she took a break from the game. Nobody has her new character.
She made a new character.
its not much different on the actual draw, but once you get near the end of your draw it stacks FAST I shot mine and tried another guys of the same poundage from the same maker and mine feels twice as hard to draw once you get past roughly the 2/3rds draw mark. holding it there for any amount of time is difficult.
I don't think that would be in any way advisable if your bow has any serious draw weight. Unless you're some kind of compound casual.
Wow, sounds pretty cool at least you're building some muscle or at least more so than a compound.
Ah, i see. Any reasons as to why she did it? Just because she can and she seems to be the type of person that rushes to things?
She had to move because of irl reasons, and decided to take a break. I'm pretty sure you can't play on an account that's not of your region, otherwise half the world would have a kr f2p account.
Honestly, how do you draw it out as shown in figure 2?
I tried it before on a 40lb, and the string didn't make it very far in my grip.
I used figure 2 when I was a kid with a homemade bow. Only way the arrows wouldn't fall off the string.
I'd never do it with a real bow it'd be like loading a rifle with your finger on the trigger
Its the only answer
You can, but you need to buy the box copy from the region. Mamare mentioned something about it in one of the Q&As.
>/lh/ - Leather Bags & Archery
We're just going to become /larp/ after a while
Actually, you can. It's written up there in Greatest Party Ever, however the companies recommend playing on your regional servers because pings and stuff.
>what mmo should i play
>spider party in australia
>what mmo should i play
Sometimes /tg/ can be the funniest place on 4chan
>mfw no one picks henreitta or Mary
Would do both, still, Misa is #1
Also, Miss Isuzu is kavaj too. It's near impossible to just pick one.
what about capes?
I don't mind if we drop the spider thing.
Or stop talking about spiders.
Or forget that they exist.
I doubt its just a square
Not sure if I'd be logging any horizons, but I'd certainly Date A Base.
well the way I see it it could be an acutall full cloak, or a square cloak/cape thing. The hood is huge as fuck and is never shown up as far as I have seen, only his winter parka is shown up.
most cloaks as long as you let them settle can be shaped into shoulders. neck might be hard to make it stand up.
also if I put a draw string in there it might just turn out right. no idea though as cloaks are finicky sometimes.
I was gonna ask why does everyone want to bang 15yo characters, then I realized /b/ is just a letter away.
>Kanami and the greatest party ever land in Australia
>Giant sentient spiders rule over the continent, humans are enslaved and used as food/place to lay eggs
I totally lost it at "Krod choose suprise."
I don't even get who you're trying to bait.
Wouldn't you rather Date A Based?
>watch ep 17
>decide to actually watch the introduction instead f skipping it
>one of the shots in Rudy all dead and shit
Ah, I shouldn't have done that
You present a mighty convincing argument sir, and I'd be fine with either.
Stop posting this pic because it remenber me that we wont have shiroetsuki or Henrietta, Minori and Akatsuki orgy doujins ;_;
I would put my data in her database if you know what I mean.
I would nin her ja.
That makes my counteraction rise.
I'm fine with that.
>character named shiroe enters public chat
>asking where to find glasses
Please tell me it isn't one of you fags
Reminder that you'll never go on an adventure.
Hahaha what game
Anyone else really looking forward to hearing her battle commentary later on?
RO2. Terrible game
Do you think she's give you a blowjob if you ate nothing but sweets?
Why bother doing something so complicated. Just cover your dick in maple syrup
I would like to suggest doing both.
Boy this sure is an Anime thread if I've ever seen one.
I cannot wait for that, I really hope the anime writers end up chalking a bit more to the military stratagems too, instead of just MORAL LESSONS and FRIENDSHIP to censor off the fanservice/constant politics.
I shall prove you wrong about the rarely part with a good old fashioned /tg/ style screencap dump.
No Doujins. Ever.
Don't say it!! Please ;_;
/tg/ has a bit of a thing for spiders. Maybe we're all Australian
Nothing will ever top Old Man Henderson
Remember that "I don't keep reaction images" thread where the entirety of 4chan showed up to laugh at that guy? This was our version.
/r/ing if anyone has the i cast fist one
Considering this turned into a /tg/ thread, this is the closest possible.
And last one. Cheers /a/!
I think he meant this.
>posting NSFW pic on /a/
Enjoy your ban :^)
Took you artists long enough.
Too much content to post. Have a link to a shitty /tg/ wiki.
I'm aware, just that this was already turning into a /tg/ thread, I felt like it was relevant.
But it's censored, it's completely worksafe.
Dude, I can see the nipples.
I had this problem with the cloak for Shannon Casull's cloak in Scrapped Princess. The eventual pattern was like a 3/4 cloak with a small amount of extra material coming across the front for the clasp.
Shiroe's doesn't look nearly that exotic, but still probably want to look up a bunch of patterns online, or maybe find a tailoring forum to ask on. Otherwise, just pick up a couple yards of bargain bin $1 cloth or an old bedsheet and experiment.
I figured on putting wire in the top parts to keep it up too, looking up cloaks now.
Hmm, I don't think that would be necessary, but might be easiest. As long as you get a decent weight cloth, or maybe double-line the hood or put some interfacing in there.
This is what Shannon's looks like. If I remember my pattern correctly, it was like a 2/3 circle + the extension for that shape.
Anyone got the dwarven stubbornness pic?
is there going to be more of this released?
This one is perfect.
Anyone know what episode that lute tune Isuzu played was in? Or if there is a full version available somewhere.
I believe it was 15 or 16, no?
I've been translating some of the website updates that give details about the TRPG, I don't know if anybody else here has done the same thing or not (I usually only casually glance at the threads), but if not and anybody's interested, I can dump them really quick.
That would be pretty neat. I don't think anyone's not interested in that.
Dump 'em and/or pastebin it. I'm sure there are anons that are bound to be interested.
I plan to EMS the RPG books when they come out. And if sufficiently motivated, create a character creation page. I need to book up on the various class data first for that though, as I haven't been playing all that close attention to that yet.
System Explanation: Tags
You should know me by now as the guy in charge of web articles, Tanukihara Makoto. The topic for this time is "Tags." I'm going to introduce you to tags, the most symbolic mechanic in the Log Horizon TRPG.
The Log Horizon TRPG brings together many elements. The magic and combat abilities used by Adventurers, items like swords and armor, enemies, etc... These items all have names and numerical values.
Tags are one of those elements, keywords that represent special traits. For example, a "Long Sword" is an item with the [One-handed] and [Sword] tags. Just from these you can understand that a Long Sword is a sword you use with one hand.
In Log Horizon, there are tags for all sorts of mechanics. The Adventurers that the players control have tags for the Class, Sub-class, Sex, etc... Combat techniques have associated damage types and ways of attacking.
There are also many objects that at first glance may seem irrelevant, but can have meaning in the game because of their tags. The [Sword] tag represents an item type, equipping restrictions, a damage type, and what kind of skills can be activated. All that is connected to a single tag.
For example, the [Flame] tag would be attached to skills, magic, or items that deal damage using fire or heat. And any thing you use to make an attack with the [Flame] tag would be treated as dealing [Flame] damage. They can also signal when vulnerabilities are activated. A monster with "[Vulnerability (Flame): 10]" would take 10 additional points of damage when they receive an attack with the [Flame] tag.
You should be able to get an image of something by looking at its tags.
[Adventurer] [Female] [Elf] [Healer] [Carpenter] [Crescent Moon Alliance] [Normal Person] [Sunflower of Akiba]
When you see these tags together, who are you reminded of? A fan of the novels should think of Marielle. Even someone who doesn't know the novels would still think, "She's a female Adventurer in the Crescent Moon Alliance. And she's probably called the Sunflower of Akiba?"
Because of their keywords, each object is connected to and can influence each other object. Furthermore, they can be put to wide use in the game. If Marielle makes you lunch, it could prove to be the key to solving a problem in the game. We hope that these things will make playing the Log Horizon TRPG fun.
So are there 30,000 adventurers all around the world with a majority of them in Japan?
Seems hard to believe that there can be such a massively spread out game world for a "popular game" and only have that many players.
System Explanation: Hate
Hi there, this is Tanukihara Makoto, in charge of web articles. Until now, I've mostly focused on introducing the characters that the players play, but from here on I'll be introducing some of the unique aspects of the game.
The topic for this installment is a cornerstone of combat, "Hate."
In the novels, Hate plays an important role during combat. It means hostility or aggressiveness, and represents the level of threat a monster views an Adventurer as having.
An Adventurer has a Hate score during combat that starts at 0 and can reach a maximum of 10. Basically, a monster will attack the Adventurer with the highest Hate. It appears again and again in the novels, especially in volume 3, "The End of the Game Part 1," where a newbie party struggles with issues surrounding Hate in the Shrine of Lagranda.
The Log Horizon TRPG represents the use of Hate tactics in combat perfectly. Monsters determine the target of their attacks based on who has the most Hate. This way, the Warrior classes can control their and their companions' Hate to force the monsters into aiming for them.
But, no matter how strong their armor or evasion, if they take constant attacks from a large number of monsters, they will find themselves at their limit. Therefore, it's also necessary to have a Healer class to heal and support the Warrior. Then, while the Warrior and Healer draw the attacks of the monsters, it's time for the attackers, the Weapon User and Offensive Magic User classes, to quickly dispatch the enemies.
That's just for Japan (Yamato) server afaik. Or maybe even just Akiba.
I'll check those for a longer version. I found a piece of it in 12, here's the tab if anyone is interested:
and then then the same thing except 0 - 1 - 0 on the B string at the end.
I'm pretty sure that's just for the japanese server. And, it was everyone that was logged in at one point in time, not everyone that played the game.
Hate can be used to great effect in order to advance quickly. Sometimes, a magic user might try to wipe out all of the enemies using a powerful spell, but end up in a big mess from the attacks of the surviving enemies because of his high Hate. All kinds of trouble could pop up.
Therefore, the Hate rules could also be a way to enforce fulfilling your respective role and cooperating with your allies. It's very fun to have your actions heavily sway the tide of battle, save your allies, and experience the thrill of defeating powerful enemies.
You might confuse Hate for a simple concept. But once you are able to feel both its scariness and usefulness, a completely new type of combat will emerge. You could say that combat in the Log Horizon TRPG lets you fight like you were Black Heart Glasses. We hope you'll look forward to it.
It's 30,000 in Japan alone who just happened to be logged in at the time of the patch, with a several hundred thousand in the entire world
30,000 in Japan "trapped" by the Catastrophe. Only those were online at midnight when the update hit.
It was probably 16, because that's when Isuzu and Rudy have the talk where she finds out he's a dog and then a Lander.
I just noticed something:
>Being online for when the update to a popular MMO hits
>Not waiting it out a bit to log
>Not worried about facing a queue of 10k players on the line
That is a lot more reasonable.
Any indication about total players world wide or is it still speculation?
Sorry if this was in the wiki/pastebins, I was skimming it.
System Explanation: NPCs
This is Tanukihara Makoto, the Naotsugu-loving head of website updates. The topic this time is NPCs. To put it simply, NPCs are all of the people that the players meet during the game, including monsters, townsfolk, etc... One of the best parts of Log Horizon is the large number of appealing characters. We want to make it easy for those characters to appear in the TRPG as well. Today we'll be introducing you to the specifics of those NPCs.
NPCs that appear in the Log Horizon TRPG can be divided into two main types: Official NPCs, and Original NPCs.
Official NPCs are those who already have their backgrounds set. This includes not just the characters from the original novels, but also monsters and other such NPCs. The Log Horizon TRPG will compile all sorts of characters, from Shiroe and Akatsuki, to Roundtable members like Krusty and Misa Takayama, lots of monsters, the people of Akiba, etc... There will be loads of them. Perhaps even ones who haven't yet appeared in the novels?
The other type, Original NPCs, are NPCs that you've created yourself. Since the stories you make in a TRPG are your own, naturally characters of your own creation will appear in them. Using the rules for Tags to develop their personalities, these Original NPCs will become powerful allies. If you give them a good introduction to everyone using Twitter, your NPC might end up showing up in another group's session.
The role of NPCs is to play a supporting role while the main characters show off how cool they can be. We know how many charming characters there are in Log Horizon. The whole production team is working hard to include as many NPCs as possible in the the Log Horizon TRPG. But for the ones we can't stat in time, we're planning on releasing them on this site sometime in the future (Oh no, I've said too much! Everybody cheer us on). We hope you'll look forward to it!
Maybe it's in the far future where there is no lag.
From what I can tell, people were still playing normally and doing their own thing when the update hit, so they could probably pre-dl the expac and the content unlocks when the time is right.
Despite the whole "never play on patch day" thing, a lot of people insist on being first or are simply impatient. Hell, I waited 2 week after release before picking up GW2 and it was still buggy as shit for about a month.
A queue sounds like shitty service to me
The patch was preinstalled
I just assume lag doesn't exist in that world since they have people doing traveling and doing raids overseas consistently.
System Explanation: Log Tickets
This is Tanukihara Makoto, reminding you that the memory of a fun game is something to be treasured. Today's topic is Log Tickets. I'll be introducing you to the Log Horizon TRPG's rules for advancement.
TRPGs are games where you can have fun telling a story. In the same way that a novel can be serialized, a TRPG can consist either of a single session , called a "one-shot," or can be played as a "campaign," a story that plays out over several parts.
I love to play campaigns using the same character over and over. It feels great to see your character gradually increase in strength as they accumulate more and more experiences before coming to an emotional ending.
In campaign play, a character grows with each session. This includes not just the growth in their stats, but also the people the meet, the spells and weapons they acquire, etc... Log Tickets are what feed that growth.
A Log Ticket is a piece of paper that you receive at the end of a session. They're proof of the adventure that you all completed together. They are also simple to use, and don't require any complex calculation. For each ticket, your character grows one level, and forms a bond with another person. There are also many other ways to use them.
While Log Tickets are used to advance your character, at the same time they are also a piece of your memory, a memento of the session. Enjoy your adventures to their fullest, and collect lots of wonderful memories.
Anyway there are a couple more mechanical explanations that I haven't gotten around to translating yet, and the rest of the articles are either general explanations of tabletop RPGs (for LH fans not familiar with them) or explanations of LH (for gamers not familiar with the novels, I would imagine), so I figured you guys don't really need those translated.
if im reading that correctly its saying that they are encouraging the sharing of your characters so they can be used in other players games?
thats a really cool way of using the MMO setting
Yeah, that's what I pulled from that line too. It certainly fits with the very open and sharing nature that we've seen from Mamare when it comes to LH.
Combined with the Tag System, it seems like it would be very easy to condense a character into a very small stat block/description, but still be able to tell a lot about them, both descriptively and mechanically.
Still, there are queues, even in more modern MMOs (check FFXIV for that). Yeah, I believe a pre-download patch is the best solution, but if people were willing to play it exactly at midnight/right before, doesn't that strike you as if they're actually impatient?
The point I'm making is that everyone in ET is at least more impatient than the average person and could not wait for a plan that'd take a long time, even the politics is forcing everyone into a teeth grinding party of "God damn it why is this not going by faster???".
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WAS I SERIOUSLY THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS THREAD TO ACTUALLY READ THIS WHOLE PAGE????????????
The tale of Old Man Henderson is a bit of an old one, but it was always a favorite to me.
Glad you enjoyed it, anon.
I would give anything, pay any price, to have the chance to sit at a table and play with these men. Theirs is a breed so rare, that to behold it in the flesh is to have your life forever changed.
I am in awe.
Old Man Henderson is Shiroe after the old age and dementia hit.
in animu and manga artists generally opt to skip drawing the top part of glasses unless if it's during things like /glassessadjust
it makes the glasses mesh better into the character since the frame blocking the eye looks weird/ugly
it's more an illustration technique thing rather than them having glasses without frame on top in japan
The legend of Old Man Henderson brings a tear to my eye every time I read it.
If that amused you, I recommend you read
It's less awe-inspiring, but a much more hilarious "fuck you".
Keep in mind, this story got over two full hendersons on Old Man Henderson's own chart.
Of course they're wondering why he fuck shit isn't going faster. They literally just got hit with with a 12x time dilation.
Also this is not everyone logged in. Ifanything you should be surprised there are so FEW people skipping work the next day to grind in elder tales.
Nope, I just finished it.
Well, it's 2018 in Log Horizon, so I would assume the tech is decentralized enough by that point, that lag isn't an issue. And even today, you have games like EVE Online where there are 30-50k concurrent users online at once. Or it could be one of those games that just splits populated areas into multiple channels like the Korean MMOs do.
A game where you will learn on how to adjust your glasses.
I use the middle finger on bridge method myself.
I believe in the show they talked about the regions I believe west of their own that have other players in them. Their section is just the Japanese server I wish to say.
Summoner (Level 90)
Some men just want to watch the world burn
Engrish gonna Engr.
That was amazing

You may have to ditch a Log Ticket as a representation of EXP loss.
Definitely a believable scenario.
Who here knows how to get in touch with Marmalade Sensei?
I'm that other map guy from several months ago that made the current world map we are using. I am also the guy who made that other map of Brotherhood (Although looking at the pastebins, it seems like it is now "The Brotherhood").
I've been wondering if Marmalade had seen my map Philadelphia. I really would hope that he would give me his blessing, or perhaps even use it in some form for himself.
Just get to his twitter, it's https://twitter.com/marmalade_macro
Make sure either you or someone you know speaks moon, otherwise it'll be a bit of a shot in the dark.
Here is the accumulated content as well as a summary of what is being displayed:
>The player town of Brotherhood is a quiet place. Nestled at the intersection between the Bonfire and Dela (Schuylkill and Delaware) Rivers, it serves as a hub for sea trade and resupply. Well-defended with a tall stone wall, there is farmland to the immediate south owned by various people of the land. With the town itself positioned at a narrow point between the two rivers, the farms themselves are surrounded on three sides with water.
>Bonfire River - Named for the noxious (and combustible) chemicals that sometimes flow downstream, notifying players that a dungeon at the head of the river has replenished itself.
>Four Eagle (Market Street) Bridge is just outside the West gate of Brotherhood and spans the Bonfire river.
>Further south beyond the farms as well as across the Bonfire river is a large expanse of marshland, home to a number of large insect-like creatures. It is a popular place for low-level players to venture as well as the location of many low-level quests (Levels 1-10).
>To the North are the Ruins beyond the town walls. While during the day it is empty and a safe place to travel, it becomes very dangerous at night with large rats and other monsters as they crawl on up from the sewer systems below. Near the main road the creatures are not too difficult to deal with at level 10, but the further an adventurer gets from the road, the higher the monsters get. (Levels 10-30)
>Goblin villages (Level 5-20) could be found across the rivers to the South and West living in the forests.
>To the Immediate East of the city could be found the docks along the Dela river. Ships and boats can be seen coming and going, buying and selling goods at the docks while passengers board and disembark. Lonely sailors enter the town, wasting no time as they enjoy several days of rest and relaxation.
I know NHK had to censor shit for the kiddies, but to be honest, whatever happened off-camera in this scene is way more disturbing than death.
This was so great.
>"I'll just have to hit it a thousand and one times harder!"
That's the greatest one liner. So cliche, but after all of this it fits.
I don't use twitter or speak moon. However, if anyone here would like to volunteer their time and post this:
on my behalf, I would be ever grateful.
Hello? Is anyone here?
