>It's really hard to argue that the degree to which Mana and Miyuki were not fleshed out were the same.
>With Mana, at least early on, there were mistakes, flaws, and difficulty interacting with other cures that she ironed out. With Miyuki, there was no such attempt by the writers to make her actions (or really, her lack of actions) have anything that resemble consequences.
>but really, the problem with Miyuki is her lack of actions.
>She's supposed to be obsessed with picture books? Why is there not a single early episode about her trying to draw one? Or learn about how their written? It's because Miyuki is an anti-protagonist. The kind of protagonist who just lets the story move around them and might as well not even be there, or could be substituted for other characters.
>Mana had the opposite problem, being far too much of a protagonist. This is much better than the alternative.
I honestly have no problem with Mana's progagonism as such, except that it detracted from the screen time of other characters who I also liked.
If DokiDoki had fewer girls, for example if Aguri didn't exist, I feel like Mana's spotlight would not have been as painful.
I preferred Siren as a cat
>Why is there not a single early episode about her trying to draw one? Or learn about how their written? It's because Miyuki is an anti-protagonist.
I'd say that has a lot more to do with Smile getting a promising setting and then not using it aside from one filler episode and a movie.
That's actually a pretty good comparison between the two. I know I wouldn't have been patient enough to write it. The two characters feel so different I find it ridiculous when they get put side by side. In any case, as a personal opinion this time, I'd say Mana's the best Pink yet. Though that's counting Black as Black and not the first Pink.
>no crossover season with new Cures as MCs
>seek for Precure doujins
>80% is cowtits/big tits
But Black is a Pink.
How do you know this isn't a stealth crossover season
They both have big flaws from that perspective, as I see it they completely balance each other out.
Miyuki is a center that is there to hold the group together. The movie kind of makes her take the lead, but it's not well executed and feels out of place.
Mans is a center that pulls the group forward, but it would be nice to see her support instead of lead. It's almost like she is dragging everyone around, just to show them how great she is. It got really tiring for me.
In the end it's just down to personal preference. The wasted potential with Miyuki really depresses me, but I still love her.
It amounts to the same thing, whatever the reason. Miyuki is very cute, but not much else.
Damn it though, Rikka should've had a bit more of a backstory with Ira. I mean hell, it was clear that he fell for her, yet ended up leaving with the other two even if he was one of the last remaining selfishes around. Hell, shouldn't he be trying to grab what he most wants regardless of others instead?
Dreaming is free
>Miyuki is very cute, but not much else.
Pretty much the same can be said for all of Smile, good thing there is a big market for that.
You're damn right there is.
It amounts to the same thing but for two very different reasons. Miyuki isn't shown as uninterested or only having her hobby in the surface. Her first crush is on a boy from a book and they're what helped her keep going. But Smile is much more about a group of friends.
It's actually quite vague considering she's just pink-ish but mostly black, including her Cure name. Still, that might just be my lack of knowledge, since so far I haven't heard her be appointed as a full fledged "Pink". If that's the case though, then Mana would be the second best I guess. Again, in my own opinion anyway.
Ako a cute cute cute cute cute cute girl
>A country located somewhere on Earth, the Blue Sky kingdom, is under attack by the Phantom Empire, which is led by the evil Queen Mirage. News teams all over the world broadcast and report on the fight between the Precure and the evil Saiark that have been rampaging on every continent. The term "Precure" has become a common thing known to everyone around the world. The legendary warriors known as Precure fight to protect both the Blue Sky kingdom and the rest of the Earth!
>The princess of the Blue Sky kingdom, Hime Shirayuki, is entrusted with the mission of fighting against the Saiark as one of the Precure. The one who has entrusted her with this mission is none other than the God of the Earth who resides in the Blue Sky kingdom; Blue. However, Hime is too scared to fight against the Saiark even when she transforms into a Precure! As the Saiark invade the kingdom, Hime flees from the fight and escapes to Japan. Blue urges Hime to seek out new Precure comrades and entrusts her with the 'Crystal of Love', which will lead her to the one that will become her partner.
>Hime doesn't know what to do with this item and ends up throwing it while shouting, "The person hit by this will be my friend!" The girl who ends up being hit by the Crystal of Love is Megumi Aino! While Megumi is in the shopping district, she meets Hime on a bridge but a Saiark appears and begins to attack! Hime suddenly transforms into Cure Princess and Megumi's urge to help Hime, who is in trouble, allows her to become Cure Lovely! Together, they defeat the Saiark and learn that if they collect all the PreCards they will have their wishes granted.
>Together, along with the fairy known as Ribbon, they protect the world by transforming, attacking, and using the power of Form Change! With the theme of dressing-up that all girls love, a new and different story about Precures begins!
Your happiness charged yet?
This. Yayoi was one of the two good things about Smile. With the second being Akane and her explosive transformation.
Yayoi was a good thing about Smile but for all the wrong reasons
>IT'S TIME FOR THE CURE PRINCESS SECRET TECHNIQUE
>What is it?
I just don't care about the reasons why a show is how it is. All that matters to me is the show itself.
>Yayoi was one of many good things about Smile.
I just know Princess running away in the face of the kingdom being destroyed is going to look unintentionally hilarious as fuck
Nothing wrong with that, but then you shouldn't be complaining about the show.
Me too ~nya.
Well, I'm not, really. But why shouldn't I? I care about how a show is. So if it's a certain way, good or bad, that matters to me. I don't think complaining is unreasonable just because I like to wtach cartoons without considering the staff's occupational or economic problems.
An unreasoned opinion isn't worth voicing.
Well there's some pretty solid reasons too.
>But why shouldn't I?
You don't want to think about things, you just react to them.
But you want ~REASONS~ why doing so is shitty.
That's so hilariously hypocritical I think you must be a feminist.
The only reasonings worth considering are always found in the work itself.
Because it isn't just a problem of Miyuki not being fleshed out, it's a fundamental difference in how they handled the show's concept. You said you don't care that the show was handled one way but still want to complain as if it was done another way. You really don't see a problem in that?
That's absurdly reductionist, and also the author is dead.
I like this, sounds fun!
>[happiness charging intensifies]
I want to think about shows. Not things external to the show.
No. I'm not looking at it "as if it was done another way", I'm looking at how it was done. It was done with Miyuki as a non-actor. I didn't even complain about it - that's just how it is. How else would I look at it than how it is?
Oh god that ending.
>Cure Heart here. What's the situation?
While the ending was rushed as fuck, I like how the girls in the end got famous, instead of living quiet lives.
Also Mana was so fucking OP
I know it'll be the case, but I'll be disappointed when the setting is 100% modern day Japan even though a magical kingdom is less than a day away by plane.
If the first episode disproves my fear, I suppose my happiness will start charging. It can be mostly modern day Japan, just have some things that doesn't exist here be completely normal part of society there like magical house appliances, teleportation devices, or even something that doesn't fit the setting like androids.
It is another way though, I'm going back to this again:
>Why is there not a single early episode about her trying to draw one? Or learn about how their written? It's because Miyuki is an anti-protagonist.
That's clearly a complaint about how the show handled its themes, how Miyuki was handled comes down to that. Sure they didn't flesh her out much, but they also could have done so without touching on the picture books past the first episode.
>or even something that doesn't fit the setting like androids
What about cleaning robots?
>I'd say Mana's the best Pink yet.
Absolutely shit taste.
I don't think they'll go as far as to have things that don't really exist in modern-day but I would expect society to be slightly based around the existence of Precure
>I want to think about shows. Not things external to the show.
Oh, then perhaps I misunderstand the discussion that's going on.
I want to have reasoned discussions based on the contents of the show.
I don't want to have people just posting "X is shit" without being able to back it up.
>Oh god that ending.
Yeah IMHO the Doki epilogue was fucking great.
This season felt really uneven. The highs were high, the lows were low.
Let's remember some of the highs.
She is a pink
>Mana's the best Pink yet
Okay serious question. What puts Mana above Tsubomi and Love who I think are the most top tier Pinks?
>4 days, 22 hours, 20 minutes
>tfw Doki ending is actually the prologue to HaCha
The most genuinely interesting Pink with the most extensive and well-developed backstory; there is no other Pink that has her level of complexity or depth.
I dislike that Black is officially a Pink.
I also dislike how picture related is officially a Pink.
i want to lick not-nagisa's salty eyebrows
Nozomi, Love and Tsubomi are all objectively better than Mana.
Mana is more interesting than either of them I'd say, more fun and likable overall.
Personally, I'd add Saki too.
No she isn't; not even close to it.
Nozomi was great.
For a straight girl.
I can believe it
We've been through this before, but pic related should have been Michiru and Kaoru.
Not that guy, but I don't really like Tsubomi. She's different in a way that makes it so you can't compare her to any other Pink. I understand why people like her, but I don't.
Love's a bro though that thing with Daisuke was pretty bad.
Mana's different from other pinks in that she's larger than life like a legendary hero.
Extremely unlikely, but I will be amused if the first shot of HaCha is a giant golden Cure Heart statue made from tax dollars.
But nobody remember Saki...
How is she more fun than Tsubomi and Love? They were plenty of fun?
Love was really fun
Saki's just confusing. She's worse than Rosetta in the color regard.
I see where you're coming from now. I didn't write that complaint, is all. My first post on the subject was >>101052363. I Just piped up to disagree with citing the staff.
On a similar note, I often see people talk about the earthquake in the middle of Suite - I get that it obviously had a big effect, but I just prefer to look at the end result itself. Studying authors and conditions is a boring slope.
>I want to have reasoned discussions based on the contents of the show.
Then we're of the same mind!
>I don't like Tsubomi because she's totally incomparable to the people before her and that's bad
I'm seriously not understanding your point here. Does it matter as long as it was executed well?
Both of them. Love's arc with Setsuna was hundreds of times better than the mess that was Regina.
I know we've been through it before. Also I agree about picture related.
I just wish Toei was able to break the Pink=Leader trope and do something else once in a while.
Wasn't Bright on that magazine page with all the yellows?
Saki is also a Pink
Seriously, this isn't hard
Even if she was executed well, I don't like her. Even if I understand why people do, that doesn't mean I have to like her. I didn't even claim she was bad.
To convince me it's objective, you'd need to do quite a bit of work. You could make a pretty strong case for Tsubomi fairly easily, but I think Nozomi and Love would be harder.
Is there a Happy Robo figure floating around out there?
Those spats are looking pretty violet though.
So you just dislike her because she doesn't fit the status quo of Precure leads?
Garage kit maybe.
What's the point of comparing pinks when every other color is superior?
That's just Kanade being Kanade.
Next you're going to ask for a sentai with no red.
Tsubomi is personally my favorite, but I have no real issue with anyone disliking her. She's very different from the usual genki / tomboy pink leader and frankly Erika exists for people like you, and Erika is a miracle of the universe, so I'm glad you exist.
>Extremely unlikely, but I will be amused if the first shot of HaCha is a giant golden Cure Heart statue made from tax dollars.
Mana's statue would be solid gold with every other cure fawning over her. It would be visible from most of the hemisphere.
>Next you're going to ask for a sentai with no red.
No no no, just a different colored leader!
Red can still be in it, and Pink can still be a fun and adorable Cure.
Mana's golden statue would be on the moon, visible from the Earth's surface with the naked eye.
Every weekend, Alice would fly out there in Reigna's solar plane to brush off the space dust.
Tsubomi runs a lunar greenhouse slash gift-shop at the base of the statue.
What if Pink was the leader?
Erika has already written graffiti all over the statue's base.
White > Black > Pink > Yellow > Blue > Purple > Red > Green
Mana done right
Ya blue it.
Nah, it's how she's different.
It's how she didn't fit the role of a leader and how slow her character development was. She rarely took the spotlight due to a lack of charisma and only really took it at the end. I personally thought that the character development was great, but it was still too little too late.
Come to think of it, the train sentai can swap colors and the leader is called one. Technically speaking, it doesn't have a permanent red.
I'd rather a bro-tier Fortune, the kind of that would rather give tips and tricks to team HaCha, but keeps her distance because she has another place to defend before eventually joining.
Why did Taiki become such a jobber in Hunters?
Tsubomi was the heart of the team. Like Marine said, Blossom would be the one leading attacks and she was completely clueless without her around.
Why is Mana so shit. I want to erase my memory of Doki but her shittieness keeps poping up.
Xros Wars strength wasn't really the generals though. It was Shoutmon and the villains.
Even if it's an anniversary season, Toei can't into sequels.
A purple can never be bro at the beginning. It's like Precure law or something.
>It's how she didn't fit the role of a leader and how slow her character development was.
I'm still not seeing how these are negative?
It's not like being a leader means anything in most precure shows. It just means you get to shout henshin in very obvious times.
I haven't watch all of Gekiranger but I found the Red to be kind of annoying. Unless he goes through some change later on I don't see how he's a Mana.
Would want this over how Yuri acted in the 1st half.
>I personally thought that the character development was great, but it was still too little too late.
IMHO Tsubomi was a "nurturing" type leader, more similar to Nozomi than someone like Nagisa.
Mana was ironically also very "nurturing", but she led by example rather than by empathy.
You're just tsundere for Mana.
They are still reasons to dislike something though, even if you like her for it.
>Xros Wars strength wasn't really the generals though. It was Shoutmon and the villains.
Exactly. That's why it was done right
>Unless he goes through some change later on I don't see how he's a Mana.
Oh man, you have NO idea.
You should finish Geki. It's good
Stop seducing me Erika
My god, Gentaro and Taiki are pretty much dude versions of Mana
Jan is kind of pushing it, but I kind of understand considering how he tries to be friends with anything that moves and isn't evil
I should watch Nadja
I think that's only when they have a bad past, which Moonraito and Sword had. I don't know if this holds true if they don't, or if Fortune had a bad past at all.
> Yuuko has a soothing personality and loves food
None of the colours really have a strictly fixed identity. I'm sure we'll get a happy Purple eventually.
Nao was originally going to be a Purple, iirc.
This year's rape victim?
This year's rape victim
Judging by her description, she sounds like an onee-san to the people too weak to protect themselves, but hard on everyone else. I don't see any way out of not getting another edgy Purple.
>You should finish Geki. It's good
I'll find some time to finish it. I really really liked the parts with Rio and Mele out of what I watched.
This is going to be my favorite character this year. I can just feel it now.
She's fluffy and snuggly, that's slang for doujin cumbucket.
We were calling that when the name "Cure Honey" was announced.
> I don't see any way out of not getting another edgy Purple
Unless she goes all Kamen Rider hero-of-justice.
There aren't any Precures I dislike, but the Pink I like best is Nozomi, because it seemed like she actually changed when she became Cure Dream. Most of the others are basically just their normal selves with powers, but Dream seemed more like Nozomi's "ideal self" where she got to cast off her weaknesses and emphasize her strengths.
Compare to Mana, who is so ridiculously amazing to begin with that transforming into Cure Heart barely even seems like an upgrade.
Tsubomi wasn't a charismatic take-charge leader, but without her there wouldn't have been a team at all.
Well, JUSTICE can be problematic. Just look at Ace.
Fortune seems more chill than Ace from her description so far, so that shouldn't be an issue.
That was actually the thing I liked least about Nozomi/Dream. Nozomi is super-cute, and Dream is quite cool, but the mixture of the two felt off. They hardly even feel like the same character. Especially since her voice changed so much.
>but Dream seemed more like Nozomi's "ideal self" where she got to cast off her weaknesses and emphasize her strengths.
Actually they used to do that with FW and SS (slightly less) too. I wish they hadn't gotten rid fo it
A Cure could never have an ass this fine.
>Most of the others are basically just their normal selves with powers
Honoka got a full personality overwrite.
So King Selfish is around 1200m tall?
When Nozomi threatened to break the Dream Collet, I got some very Cure Dream vibes.
Overwrite, or simply bringing to the surface something that had always been there but had never had a chance to show itself previously?
>dat lovely ass
I want to Flamenco her Cherry.
He got you there Magical beast
I just realized that even Honey's weapon is exercise/rhythmic-gymnastics-themed.
Eat heartily, exercise heartily must be her motto.
That'd be a killer idea for a pink.
>goes full TANOSHII when she transforms
> Runs home and hides in her room out of embarrassment afterwards
>fairy laughing in the background
It would be pretty sweet to see the laughing Legendary Warrior behind the berserCure.
Would being voiced by Aoi Yuuki be too much to ask? She'd be perfect in both modes.
Dammit guys, now I want to watch Sengoku! Precure. Cure Nobunaga, Cure Hideyoshi, Cure Toyotomi....
So why is it that we always have a pink cure as the leader?
I mean, sentai has a red leader because the very first sentai had it. But the very first precure was Black and White. Why can't we have a season of PreCure where neither starting cure is a Pink?
Only if we get a blue or green Yuu Kobayashi.
She'd be better as the batshit insane villain.
The first 3 seasons were that way. But when they went to a more Sentai like formula they went with Pink instead of Red, because girls.
Look at these men. Do you think you could convince them that "girls like pink" is not a universal truth? I don't think you could.
How about a batshit insane villain that turns into a cure, but still keeps some of her batshit?
What if we had the most BOMBASTIC, BATSHIT, EVIL INSANE VILLAIN EVER.
Norio Wakamoto in precure would be more fun than I think we could handle.
Doesn't sound like Precure to me.
I have no reaction image for how imagining that makes me feel.
This. Cure Ham would be her name.
Sengoku Rance ruined me. I can't fully enjoy anything Sengoku related because of it. I should try the 2 Nobunaga anime airing this season at least though.
They're both very different shows.
Why is this allowed?
I couldn't stand Nobufool because of how seriously it took itself in the first episode. It has an all star cast though.
On the otherhand, Nobugun is great. Hot blooded TANOSHII everywhere and doesn't take itself seriously at all.
But that's just my opinion on them.
And I thought KJ was hammy already.
> Pacific Rim
Crossed with MuvLuv Alternative. That was the first thing that jumped into my mind when Dogoo started talking about the EIO being networked rather than a decentralized/disorganized force.
All the Heart Charge dancing finishers are going to be based on Super Robot finishers.
What Super Robot finishers would you like to see Precure preform?
Instead of Breast Fire, it should be Ass Fire.
Let's get the mindless Gurren Lagann post out of the way now, so people with actual mecha knowledge can reply.
I'm not one of them. Only super robot I've watched was TTGL.
Wait a second
>What Super Robot finishers would you like to see Precure preform?
That thing Demonbane does.
How many villains have been properly Befriended in Precure?
Erika got Befriended.
Oh wait she's not technically a villain, is she.
A while ago, someone said there was Obari poses in HC, but it's been so long since I watched it. Does anyone have screencap(s) of it/them?
Precure has always been about friendship and teamwork. Tornado Blade/Tatsumaki Zankantou Ikkitousen it is.
Lemuria Impact would be great, but a Cure summoning the Precure that will be, the Precure that could be, the Precure that were, and the Precure that can't be would be awesome if absurdly broken.
She'd be the most hot blooded cure ever
It's just like an All Stars movie.
I hate Japanese little girls.
Any bets on who Haruyama draws first?
I'm guessing Princess. She seems lewd.
Princess is a good guess.
I bet her intro features her running away or jumping over something, if not both.
> Shattering the very fabric of reality
How long until we have a Cure do that? KJ just did it, but that was kind of permanent.
Who is riding who?
Is that Sharuru as the King?
Precure/Dark Souls crossover fanart when?
Actually, Regina did it, using the Miracle Dragon Glaive.
REGINA ISN'T A FUCKING CURE
> Less than two weeks after Aguri was introduced
This fucking guy.
In other words, now that she's absorbed the three sacred treasures, Mana can open rifts between dimensions?
Yes she is.
I know. I said Regina did it because she did, KJ just made it bigger so he could fit through it, but he didn't break reality.
Shit, I forgot that. Partly explains why Parthenon mode was supposedly so powerful even though we didn't get to see it do anything on a Big Bang level, though.
Actually wait, that was only two days after she was introduced. We didn't get to see Aguri until the episode after Ace showed up.
But she is fucking a Cure.
Even if she was a not-Cure she doesn't transform.
Cure Decade when?
Could Nanoha beat Mana?
>We didn't get to see Aguri until the episode after Ace showed up.
But we saw the preview and Aguri's portrait was already released by then.
Sword also had being a Cure as her default state and the transformation was only to take on human guise.
> Aguri's portrait was already released by then.
It was? I know we knew her civilian name by that point, but I don't think we'd seen any art of her as Aguri at that time. And I only remember the preview having a glimpse of her, not a full shot.
Joe explained it as emotions make Cures who can be that powerful. If Parthenon did anything it made her many times stronger than a Big Bang level.
They'd be friends though.
Any Mana that isn't Parthenon Mode. That shit just seems way too OP. I'd like to say yes to that one too though.
Nanoha is not even a Sue, she almost died against a random unnamed robot/whatever it was. And don't get me started on limiters.
I love Nanoha, but she has no fucking chance.
It was how we always saw her in Trump Kingdom, but Davi needed to transform with her. Unless you're saying Davi is part of Makoto I wouldn't say that's her default state, just that she was battle ready or something, like Joe in the suit of armor.
You can say that but Nanoha still has plenty of plot armor protecting her, strip that away and you need to strip away what Mana has as well.
It was pretty obvious.
I don't know, but I'm pretty sure Mana's theme overrides all prevailing music.
What's your favorite Precure episode?
HC ep 34 for me
Pic related, my face the entire time
So you're saying that Davi was with Sword even as an orphan?
Fresh ep 23
It was intense as fuck.
just passed, didn't she?
Or 18. Or 19. Or 23. Or 25. Or 27. Or 36. Or 38. Or 39. Or 40. Or 42.
Don't ask me this question.
She isn't wearing any contacts/wig/dye in the normal world and it changes to Cure style when she transforms with Davi. I'd call her idol look her normal state.
I'll have to second this.
yeah, after she pushed herself to her absolute limit on a regular basis, her body effectively shut down at the absolute worst possible time.
Full strength one v one, Nanoha with Exceed Mode vs Mana in Parthenon mode would be interesting, since it could be argued that Mana's speed increase would put her on equal footing with Fate, an advantage Nanoha was able to negate at the end of the original series, Nanoha would still have a long range advantage, but Heart would beat her at a melee range, so speed would become the deciding factor.
Great, now I want a PreCure Combat Tactics Advanced turn-based fighting game with all sorts of strategic and environmental effects.
That's how my own post would look if I tried responding to that anon. Except with Heartcatch and Suite.
Smile Nao, Yayoi, Akane episodes, Robot episode, Reika vs Joker episode
Too many to count. If you're going to force me to pick something then I'd have to say that I loved most of the SS episodes that had Kintoleski. It was hard to not smile when he was on screen.
> Implying she didn't use Davi to detransform in the first place and when she uses Davi she merely returns to her original form
Unless you really think she was some sort of child soldier who was given Davi at a young age. Hell, until she came to Earth the only name she had was "Cure Sword".
That brings up some issues of predestination and just who gets to be a Cure. If Cures are determined by their emotions, you certainly can't be born one.
And Aguri was able to be a cure by using the physical reincarnation of the person who she was split off from as her fairy. Precure is wacky stuff.
>pick your favorite episode out of a pile of 480-something episodes
I don't think you thought this through.
>What's your favorite Precure episode?
The one where the cute little girl kicks evil's ass in the name of justice.
Will HaCha be as hotblooded as HC?
That episode? Really? But that episode was so shitty.
What a bad opinion. That was the best episode.
My favorite episodes are the ones where the bad guys get their butts kicked for something they didn't do.
RORIPOPU HIPU HOPU
>Bunbee getting shooed away without even summoning a Hoshiina
Like we even needed an episode to reinforce that the Yes 5s are cold blooded killers and will quickly shut down bad guys.
If aguri didn't exist it would've been a worse show.
How many weeks until we declare HaCha shit and start talking about how fantastic Doki was?
>Well, JUSTICE can be problematic. Just look at Ace.
Ace was the best character in Doki. I don't see a problem. She had the best character development, the cutest voice, and the cutest design. On top of that all she was a 2 in 1 package.
In one month we'll be divided once more.
That didn't happen with Smile even though Smile wasn't that bad
It obviously won't happen with Doki
>Hikari attending a Shiny Luminous fan meetup
Smile and Doki had different problems
Doki was generally good and enjoyable with some weird and bad moments
Smile was generally bad and uninteresting with several redeeming moments
Didn't know today was opposite day,
Doki is plain shit though.
Both are shit, don't try to trick us.
I see the people who deny that Doki had some really good moments are in the thread.
Look they were both weak for literally the exact opposite reasons
She's not bad, she's just not good either.
No one is denying Doki had some moments.
It's the DIDF that try to deflect criticism onto other seasons instead of admitting their first season has flaws.
I like her so far. Deko-chans are usually my favorite characters, regardless of characterization or screen time.
Basically, I want to cum on her forehead.
Is there a picture anywhere of Nagisa and Honoka licking her forehead? That'd be good.
Please. That claim has been made since about halfway through the season without me seeing it happen even once. And when I did see it, I was almost certain it was some asshole trying to intentionally make Doki fans look like shitposters.
Will she ruin everything a la Cure Ace?
Everyone admits that Doki had flaws.
It's just that some haters and/or trolls try to pretend that the flaws are everything.
Please remind me of the "really good moments" in Doki that don't conclude with stupid Mana Sue.
Is it really that wrong? When we see a piece of paper with a stain, we usually fixate on the stain.
>It's the Kamen Riders
Every Alice episode.
Yes, it is wrong to ignore good things.
The Alice episode where she uses her shields as a close range weapon? I think that was all Alice.
Dem legs and implied hips
> Right boot has "Precure" on it
MakoP can smile?
She's an aidoru, so she knows how to do a fake smile with a hollow as fuck inside.
Oh neat, I hadn't noticed that her skirt isn't even.
It took her a while to learn.
The focus episodes during the training arc. Those were good for Diamond, Rosetta and Sword.
>she comes from a poor family
I want more MakoP toothbrushing images
Rikka's training episode
Anti Dragon Shield group shield bash
Episode 41 with MakoPi
The Christmas episode
Pretty much everything in episode 48.
There is now exactly one episode in which Mana is a mary sue, and it is the finale.
I don't know why, but I still get Lovely P2 vibes from her. Maybe it's her having a ponytail and a heart hair accesory too.
>"no Mana" = "really good"
I see where your standard is.
At first I was really upset they introduced a new villain in the last episode and killed based Mammo to do this but fuck if this ain't hilarious.
>still gets a cavity
In general Makopi's autismoe episodes were always at least somewhat entertaining.
Well he said that doesn't include Mana so that's what I gave him.
>Please remind me of the "really good moments" in Doki that don't conclude with stupid Mana Sue
90% of Proto is probably made up of silly minor desires like that.
She's still alive. Just sleeping. For 10,000 years.
> Maybe it's her having a ponytail and a heart hair accesory too.
It's mainly this, most of the details of their outfits are different in some way (aside from the similarities that all the base forms share).
I don't know why but she looks German to me.
Fortune a best
> PJ sitting with his primary hands in his lap on the train
This is unintentionally hilarious.
HC 1, 2. Perfect intro, microcosm of Tsubomi's excellent characterization. HC is adored for a reason, and it's things like this.
I'm tempted to say Y5 34 because it has a really unique setup and I love the characters involved, but out of anything in Y5 I'd say my favorite is the episode where Coco starves because he isn't willing to take charity from the other characters. I mean, it's pretty brutal, and exemplary of male pride, and only Y5 could pull it off with its Male MCs. You can't do the same premise with little girls, it loses the context and weight. Really, it's one of the things Y5 gets down well. Having a very diverse main cast and using them to build on one another.
I'm pretty sure the moe there was intentional.
>the episode where Coco starves because he isn't willing to take charity from the other characters
Do you mean Nuts?
Now that I think about it, we know what weapons three of the Cures use, but we still have no idea about Fortune's. She doesn't even appear to have a transformation mirror like the other three.
She's actually a girl who has trained to Precure levels without needing any transformation gadgets or beamspamming weapons.
I want to have his children.
He's not really new since he's the black stuff KJ bathed in. It's pretty much KJ without the silly Regina obsession.
Which precure would you not fuck
Yayoi. She's my daughteru/tokubro.
All of them.
They're too pure to corrupt.
Ace. But only her Cure form. Civ Aguri and Ange are okay.
Rin, but I'd set it up so that she'd expect some kind of romantic experience and then I'd just leave her in the dust. The next day I'd make sure she sees me with some other girl.
>Ange is okay
>Before this is over, I'll show you the true power of Pretty Cure!
We needed more Jikochuu AI.
I wonder who is going to molest her first, Joe or Makoto?
>I don't even know this kid
>Ah wait I actually do, and very well
Regina, because she's not a Cure.
So is she the first unvirgin cure?
Why are younger versions of the girls always cuter than the original?
Not by a long shot.
I meant in the main team
Because they are.
Apparently, she's a "Battle Miko" whose family runs a karate dojo. Her parents are "gone", supposedly around the time that the Saiark appear; which could be a flag that her parents are brainwashed Saiark generals or something. She does go to the same school as Megumi and the others, but she is in a different class.
Nozomi is less of a virgin than Ace. Unless you mean about how Joe gave Ange the dick therefore her three parts are unvirgin too- wait.
That is what I mean, yes.
Who's that ugly boy above Mana?
Huh, my happiness levels are rising.
General leaks when?
Joe never even kissed Ange on-screen.
Mana because she would undoubtedly crush my pride as a male since the roles would probably get reversed quite quickly.
And so the Purple tradition of suffering continues.
>Her parents are "gone", supposedly around the time that the Saiark appear; which could be a flag that her parents are brainwashed Saiark generals or something
Fuck, this is part of Yuri's backstory.
I want to watch Lovely's hips hop.
Toei, what have you done to me... !!?
I don't think they fucked. They were only engaged and it is a medieval society.
If Doke thought us anything, is that human corpses eventually turn into fairies
>Who's that ugly boy above Mana?
Tom the Boy.
Fine, they had consensual sex in the missionary position, maybe not for the purpose of procreation, but who's going to know?
And steam technology.
I'm not sure if they count since they run on magic.
>The 4 main fairies were all various pieces of road kill
>it is a medieval society
In the absence of paternity tests, every fucks more.
So why did Smile need two tomboy characters anyway?
Each child's death brings a new fairy into the world.
Ransu died by OD on sleeping pills.
Because one was too het.
Because they are my fetish.
One is the ugly tomboy and the other is everyone's oneechan
Having two tomboy characters
>Half of the unwanted children are executed and recycled into fairies, the other half are trained to be Cures.
Victory goes... TO THOSE WITH COURAGE
Name as many Precure dimensions as you can list from memory.
Fortune's real name is cool.
Garden of Light
Garden of Hope
I've only watched those seasons so far.
>executed and recycled into fairies
These sound like WH40k "servitors".
Garden of Light and Dark Zone, Land of Fountains and the Dark Fall world, the world of Palmier Kingdom and its surrounding friendly kingdoms as well as Nightmare world and the Eternal Museum world, Labyrinth/Management World, Sweets Kingdom and all those other worlds (Rock People world, Vegetable People world, Jungle World, etc), does the Precure Palace on HC count? Major Land and Minor Land, Marchenland, and Trump Kingdom.
Did I miss any?
Akane was too perfect, they had to throw in Nao so they couldn't spend every episode focusing on her exclusively.
> Karate dojo
Let me guess, Seiji goes there.
Cure Rose Garden
I personally don't see that many similarities between the two.
Maybe it's because I pay more attention to (imaginary at this point) demeanor than appearances; Lovely seems easy-going, while Fortune seems to be the serious business type.
Their ponytails are also completely different. Lovely's hair looks more straight, and the tail is tilted upwards from where it's gathered; Fortune's is more spread out and looks softer and fluffier that way.
I really appreciate the small detail differences in the costumes this time around, even when they're all built around the vest: things like the length of the ruffles, shape of the back wings, the shoulders, etc. They've managed to make each cure look unique, but all still clearly part of the same "group".
We've had it wrong. Seiji isn't actually a cross dressing Yuko. He's actually Cure Fortune.
WHAT KIND OF FUCKING NAME IS THAT
Fuck, I knew I missed something. Oh well.
I see something about gags causing her to giggle and a bit about teamwork and the last bit is something about her being cute when she goes dere.
The name of someone who owns a Hikawa?
Oh hey, she actually has the bracelet in that image.
>cute when she goes dere
That describes every cute girl in every universe ever.
So I'm relatively new to Precure and working my way through it. So far I've seen the original series, the second Max Heart movie, Splash Star, and the Splash Star movie. Also all the All Stars movies (actually the first things I watched; I suppose I'll go back to them someday once I know what's going on.)
I'm planning on watching the other seasons, but I was wondering if all the other movies were worth watching too.
I will fucking fight you.
The name of a frigid bitch.
>Third era is coming third era is coming!
>Charge is just a Heartcatch rehash with dance costumes replacing fashion in general
This is really well done
No, let me fucking fight him.
From the thumbnail, I thought this was lewd.
>if all the other movies were worth watching too
Well, I wouldn't know about the first Max Heart movie, but other movies, yes.
Your wording makes it sound like you think this is a bad thing.
We made jokes about HaCha being HC 2.0 so we're still fine, just like a broken clock.
My body can't handle all this ZR
Her personality reminds me of Yuri. Really, she seems to be an exact copy.
There's one thing that differentiates her from Yuri. Her fairy is still alive.
Except not? The reason she's alone isn't because she's afraid people would get involved and hurt, she's alone because she's so good she doesn't connect well with people. Iona doesn't actually want to look this cool and aloof, she likes a good joke and attempts to break from her character type.
She's anti-Yuri and anti-Mana at the same time.
>she likes a good joke
Yuri also liked gags.
Is that why she never smiled?..
Oh, you mean like gag gags
I want to engage in a fucking fight with Akane
Megumi/Seiji/Iona love triangle time.
Would you let her win?
>Not going as March
It's like he wanted to lose
No. Akane is very competitive, so if I beat her, she will probably challenge me to a rematch. And that means I get another fucking fight with Akane.
Cure Ace didn't ruin anything. Just shit posters like you who are already trying to shit post about a series which hasn't even started.
Huh, a love triangle involving 2 Cures might be amusing.
Well, I guess there was Suite, but that was dropped quickly.
Whats that? You want me to post Aguri?
That triangle wasn't even picked up honestly.
It should have been picked up.
It was a really cute triangle.
I don't get this new layout of Niconico. Why can't I see the tags of a video anymore?
It would have been wonderful to see da Ellen win da Ouji-senpai while the worst suite loses.
So do we have confirmation that this booklet isn't in fact a thorough fake? Because Japan doesn't seem to be too trusting of it.
Meh. We'll see. It probably is fake since the art for Fortune seems off.
The (literally) sketchy Fortune art does look strange.
Fuck, I'm gonna be seeing Bukki tonight.
>not seeing Buki every night in your dreams
No, as in Bukki at midnight.
I'm sorry Buki but you have rabies. I'm afraid we're going to have to put you down.
Buki best fresh.
All the Freshes are great, but Setsuna is the best
I wish she was still Eas-like after she became Passion.
But she's so cute when she's being socially awkward.
I can't wait for her movie.
That change was way too abrupt. She went from cold motherfucker to absolute moeblob in a couple of episodes.
Well you know what they say.
Love is one hell of a drug.
Love a het.
I ship Setsuna and MKTN, because that's a KNPK pair.
Who's the most beautiful Precure main character and why is it Mana?
Cure Honey's catchphrase:
"Daichi ni minoru inochi no hikari"
The light of life flourishing on the Earth, Cure Honey!
I guess the thing about her power coming from the god Gaia is true.

Clearly they saw the gifs.
I guess these are the actual monster designs.
Kindabads are the slim guys on the left, the Terribad monster is the triangular guy
Their mouths are really putting me off, I have to say.
Generic beam attacks are Blue Happy Shoot and Pinky Love Shoot. Terribads scream Gokura~ku (Feelgood!) when purified.
What? I'm having fun with translation on this one.
I want to fuck Princess.
Oh, and they spawn new Precards by rubbing Ribbon's nose after battle so she sneezes them out.
Well, at least it's not poop.
They look like Sunakies.
Hapcha is the Heartcatch of precure.
Sombrero Sunackies with skirts.
possible x-busters in the arms
Queen Mirage confirmed for Maverick leader
So the monsters are called kinda/terribads or are you making fun of the designs
No, they really are called that.
Saikaaku = the worst + evil
Choiaaku = just a little + evil
>Zing Zing Zing Zing Amazing
My happiness charges by the minute.
Where did you get this information
Was this supposed to be a wink at Ira, or just a message about Rikka being less obsessed with her studies?
I thought Ira was going to sleep just like Bel, or maybe he and Mamo are just supposed to hang around?
I honestly have no problems with "Mana Sue" herself, but everything this episode felt very rushed.
>Everyone has a mirror in their heart
Heart flowers confirmed.
There's new scans posted on Japanese boards.
Also, there's gonna be an upload of recording of Hapicha OP later today so look forward to that.
He was bringing up the episode where Rikka was playing karuta instead of studying.
Not him but I can imagine the lyrics being released in some sort of magazine so the little girls can sing it during the first episode.
Also for anons to sing it during the first episode.
You can join me for the reveal of the OP song on
They're going to play it on a program with the composer as the guest
Their hats are ugly.
Like father, like daughter.
What did they say about Doremi?
Truly a masterpiece.
That's some Oda level shit.
>Almost zero Rikka
"Well, Regina's eyes are blue, surely there will-
>Mostly Makopi and frozen Princess.
Make your own mouse Bel.
She's using it to get into Mana's pants, obviously.
Cuts in the middle because fuck you nicovideo
Will find a better copy ASAP
The composer looks really nervous.
Aaaand full version
Listening to it makes me happy. I like it very much, and look forward to hearing it every week.
Doki has the deepest lore
Holy fuck, sounds very Splash Star like.
Yeah, I actually thought they were saying Splash Star and had to scroll up andto look at the lyrics again.
That's what I was thinking.
>shiawase no VIBRATION
Kono Cure Lovely wa Muteki nandakara!
It's okay, but not my favourite.
I would show Makopee ecstasy.
>Yuuki Hyakubai Aura Ban ban! [My courage aura explodes hundredfold!]
So hot blooded.
>Kono mune ni ai ga aru kagiri [As long as there's love in my heart]
Zing Zing Zing Zing Amazing
Kono Cure Lovely wa Muteki nandakara [I, Cure Lovely, am invincible!]
How bad will the pink focus be this season? Will it top Doki?
This is a blue season.
I think verse 2 will have Princess.
What, isn't she supposed to be useless until she meets lovely
Those eyebrows are going to be kill me this season.
Character focus doesn't have to be on the more useful cure.
Lovely is about kindness, love and courage
Princess is about friendship and romance.
>friendship and romance
Calling it now, Hime will be a bro-ish Cure who sets up Megumi with Seiji.
>Hime will be a bro-ish Cure who sets up Megumi with Seiji despite neither of them really wanting to.
>Hime will be a boy-ish Cure who sets up Megumi with herself.
>that's the entire gag of the series
>whenever things get awkward, Yuko comes with a bentou
The look she has and the way she gesticulates with her hands makes me think she's Italian.
I can only imagine her playing the matchmaker if she does it withouth any common sense.
>Hime apparently has no idea about how friendship works (Whoever this hits will become my friend) so she clumsily tries various "girly things".
>This includes trying to pair Seiji and Megumi who she assumes have a thing for each other going by the childhood friend cliche.
>Meanwhile, Seiji has no interest in romance until the beautiful, foreign Hime appears.
Perfect. I'd sell my right foot for this to happen.
I want more fish out of water comedy in general with Hime. Like early Makopi, but lasting for more than like three episodes.
Hime looks so cute, that ZR
Maybe she will get a cute obsession about shoujo manga or something.
I'm worried that I'm getting myself too hyped up. What if it's a disappointment? What if Princess isn't cheeky enough?
Then enjoy the hype while you can.
>4d 12h 36m
They've never been longer.
>What if it's a disappointment?
Only optimists ever feel disappointment. So if you feel disappointed, cheer up!
>What if Princess isn't cheeky enough?
Then you can watch the BD rips of Erika as they're released.
I could stare into Erika's eyes forever.
Beware, for the Erika also stares back into you.
I want Erika to look deep into my eyes.
...Why do I have the feeling that Blue Sky Kingdom might be in Ireland? The UK are pretty much among the few regions of the world it's cool to like in Nipland after all.
What the fuck happened at the legs?! Everything was going so well.
Hime confirmed for getting drunk with soda and picking fights like a champ.
How to Precure, Ireland style:
> Acquire fluffy fairy
> fight like a lunatic
> take names
> drink Cure Soda
Does the pigtail come out of the crown?
*Keep filthy protestants off your turf
this is tremendous
Fuckin lewd dude.
Imagined if she breakdances.
Just finished the last episode and I must thank god that I will never going to see Mana in a tv episode again. Also, after reading the thread, I'm glad that I wasn't the only one with this issue of Mana hogging everything for herself. Good grief.
That design is so cool.
I doubt she will. If she was wearing shorts instead of a skirt, then maybe, but not like this.
> I must thank god that I will never going to see Mana in a tv episode again.
She'll be back in one of Hapicha openings to do anniversary congratulations.
What a lovely butt.
I hope lollipop Hip Hop is the next Peace.
Even until the end, Sharuru/Charle/whatever is ignored by her mistress.
He looks sad.
Mana only touches girls and girl simulacra.
I want to track down one of the directors and ask them why they did that.
DOES SHE FUCKING HAVE "Precure" WRITTEN ON THE INSIDE OF HER RIGHT BOOT?!
Also, these outfits seem much "cleaner" than most. Fewer hearts and bows, just some basic frills, very basic hair changes.
Is this so the CG and fight animation becomes easier?
> dat Alice
I cannot hate this.
We needed more Mana and Joe bro moments.
>he will never give his shota dick to Rikka
Why even live anymore? ;_;
He just needs to be there when Mana oversteps again.
>Is this so the CG and fight animation becomes easier?
With CG they can add as much detail as they want, and it should really change anything. Simpler designs generally make for much better 2D animation, though.
I always think of fairy-forms fairies (except Candy and Hummy) as he.
>With CG they can add as much detail as they want, and it should really change anything.
Sadly that's not true. More bullshit tacked on immediately makes the polygon count shoot through the roof.
Citation: I'm a /3/DPD.
Nonsense, 3D animation is really fickle in this regard and the more you cram in the longer you will need.
With a name like Charles, it's obviously a girl.
Just like Rachel is obviously a boy.
3D animation looks impressive, like movies.
How does that related to anything I have said?
I don't think adding a few more heart accessories and frills would do that much to the production time. It's not like real-time 3D; they've got plenty of time to render it.
Its why everyone uses it.
>DOES SHE FUCKING HAVE "Precure" WRITTEN ON THE INSIDE OF HER RIGHT BOOT?!
How else would the enemies know who's kicking them in the face?
Well it meshes well with the "Precure as superheroes like Sentai, Riders or DC/Marvel protagonists" thing they have going on.
>How else would the enemies know who's kicking them in the face?
Now I want her to have it engraved in the soles of her boots, but backwards, so when she kicks a jerk in the face, his face reads "PRECURE".
>Leaving your mark branded onto enemies you kick
Stop making me want to be kicked/stepped on by precures.
and here we can see that its incredibly out of proportion
It's obvious they wanted to make a huge emphasis on her butt, so much that it went wrong
>Her butt is her charm point.jpg
I don't get it...
You will never be a PreCure villain.
apologies, the shadow misled me. I imagine its more like this
> so much that it went wrong
Stop making me want to fap.
So what I'm gathering is that this year will be the year of the butt.
Please, don't mention Godai. I'm a fucking fangirl when people mention Godai.
How about Godai Kaoruko?
Butt and romance.
I wouldn't be talking about sexulization, if I were you Reika.
This breaks my heart.
Not expecting hacha will be awesome as 2003 flamenco, though. Especially not the VILLAIN.
I want to pour her honey on my pancakes if you know what I mean.
Yeah I want to take her out for brunch too
Miyuki and hibiki are not important for toei for merchandising
I know these comics do crossovers regularly and this means nothing, but seeing Mana save the HaChas in their very first battle still makes me laugh.
...enemies made out of person + object again?
Can't say I hate this to be honest. It lends a sense of urgency to the whole thing.
> tailed civvie hair
> open Cure hair
Why is this allowed?
...cannot argue with that logic.
Blue was a successor to the Yotsuba corporation all along!
HC-tier fights is a go!
Being the most commercially success series does that effect.
But yeah, tsubomi appear with dokis but skipping suite and smile just... lol
Can you not?
Why is Cherry Flamenco either a dress or a Jump Suit?
It's a dress, just looks like the bottom is hidden and she's jumping. Top part clings to her and you see past the frills from the side.
Why little girls' shows are so entertaining to me?
It's only natural.
Oh hell no. Dropped
'also, how come her lips are painted in only one of the three forms?
>Top part clings to her
Are we going back to Fresh days?
...you never intended to read the comic in the first place.
Because you will never be a little Japanese girl who enjoys Precure with other little Japanese girls
>'also, how come her lips are painted in only one of the three forms?
Same with Princess.
It's because Tsumbomi's hair. Why do you think Sword is there too?
No wonder you are brain dead. Get out please.
Ones on the sides feel young while in the middle is more mature. Style of dance probably influenced that.
So Ribbon doesn't have a tick at the end of her phrases. Great.
She does, it's desu wa.
But that's like the HC fairies with the desu, it's a real thing, not just 'foopu chopi moopy lappy sharu keru'.
Holy shit have you seen all the other magazine comics? They always have crossover characters from past seasons. Jeez.
It's still annoying when said 50 times in an episode
Get ready for this every time Mana pops up in one.
I'd rather have an ojousama fairy with desuwa than the alternative. Just saiying.
Preeeeetty sure that's the sound frogs make according to nips.
Rikka likes frogs.
Toei just has to troll.
Well that's okay though I would have preferred a funny accent.
Probably, aye. It makes sense.
Now imagine if they were to change or height or age between forms.
...true but it didn' jump out to me as much.
I know, I know, but the chance to complain was just perfect.
>change or height or age between forms
I'm surprised they didn't do Ace again with a young base form and then growing up into 2 or 3 notably different adults. Guess that's not easy to show without a lot of detail though.
Adult woman transforming into a 14-year old girl.
Her transformed form looked around twenty to me.
Well put together at least, shame about the quality.
At least she won't be another doormat a la Charles
