Listen up /a/,

I found an OVA which no sub group is likely to translate. I want to give it a shot myself.
The problem is, I can't Japanese.
The obvious stuff is easy to understand, but the hard parts, parts I never heard before, aren't so easy.

Now I know this Chinese girl, she says she types in the latin alphabet. She types what she hears/says and the computer translates that to Chinese characters.
I figure it's the same for Japanese.

Is there any service I can use where I can type what I hear and it will offer me translation suggestions?

I tried Google Translate, but it's shit.

Any other suggestions welcome as well.

That's not how japanese works.

So is it an impossible task?

Bump for more input.

Haha, good joke. Even if it existed, the stuff you hear will probably be wrong in many places, so you won't accomplish anything.
