Is anyone else watching this for it's Shaft visuals?
I am. Too bad its shit.
i would have watched it if it wasn't shaft's shitty visuals. sucks because i like nisekoi
For Shaft and nothing else.
Literally no other reason to watch this other than Shaft
This show is boring as fuck.
I'm watching it because it's funny, has great visuals, and the girls are cute.
I don't understand all the hate. I think the show's great and no, I'm not just talking about the visuals although it's true that it is one of the main selling point. I'm talking about the actual content. You guys have weird fucking taste when it comes to anime.
Also, Chitoge is the prettiest girl in anime history.
I'm not one for blondes, but I'll admit she's pretty.
>I don't understand all the hate
>WSJ manga adaptation
>Easy to through buzzwords at
It should be pretty obvious why.
Stand aside, objectively factual opinions that aren't actually objective OR factual coming through.
>Harem with all the bad cliches we've seen over 1000 times already
don't forget >Shaft
Not him, but I'm a sucker for those romance cliches.
Real question is, is anyone watching it for something else that's not Shaft visuals?
I'm watching it cause I'm a sucker for harems.
I'm watching it for the overexaggerated reaction faces.
>implying that's not what /a/ fucking loves
Next you're going to tell me that your AOTS is Mahou Sensou. You guys are so inconsistent, it's funny.
Didn't even put her on the list.
It's one of the most downloaded winter anime on nyantype
I watch this because I like lighthearted romcoms.
Get on my level kouhai-kun
I like the show. SHAFT's visuals are great too.
Last episode was really good, I was sad about how the show was probably going to be Hanakana losing in horribly depressing ways but if the main girl gets cuter and starts showing more dere like this and acts a lot more likeable then it could be some pretty good stuff.
Well, if it makes you feel better, old man-chan a bad tier
Chitoge's hair is too long though, and I don't like the way her hair turns orange towards the tips
Watching for Chitoge.
No. It's too shit, I prefer a good story and less artistic execution to a shit story with nice pictures.
are you me?
let's bump dicks together
This would be the point where you make an example of good story, but you'll say that no matter what you choose you'll get accused of shit taste, and the circle is complete.
I'm watching it for the moe Yakuza guys
Come on now, nothing can ever be as annoying as Happosai again.
That's the reason I'm not watching it.
I wanted to, but sadly I couldn't fully ignore the retarded rest.
Just another day in the office.
Couldn't I just add some color filters to every other harem show and basically get the same thing?
I doubt I would be watching this, if not for Shaft.
They really know how to work a rough diamond to make it shine.
Then you get Sakura Trick, and it's shit.
Rewatch episode three. Especially the scene with Onodera.
The animation of that was amazing.
It is ruined by SHAFT visuals and shitty direction. Any other studio could have made it better. Just see WCW pretty much becoming anime of the season, while meanwhile actually quite popular manga like Nisekoi ruined by Shinbo and joining the ranks of his other failures.
I probably wouldn't have picked it up if it wasn't for Shaft, but I am enjoying it.
It's a lot of fun, even if it is very clichéd. Also Onodera.
>Just see WCW pretty much becoming anime of the season
Episode 1 was ulter-shit
Episode 2 was shit
Episode 3 was good
I hope that the Tsugumi episode will be good too, but I fear the contrary, the show has literally no budget.
Now that's what I call irony.
>You will never be a Japanese mangaka and get your work animated by Shaft.
This. Way to ruin perfecty good manga. Though the main problem is not visuals (i would not like good original visuals - but what we get is same reuised 100 times Shinbo shit), but direction. It just fails to make episodes feel right, instead it looks like disjointed mix of episodes.
The style might work for likes of Moonphase or Monogatari, but not this. Puni Pony Dash style would probably fit it better, but the person that did it works on Norin now.
Yup, and now SHAFT ruined it
Denpa Onna is better than this shit
I was talking about the colour filter.
He is correct. Witch craftworks is great and gets better with every episode. Same cant be said about Nisekoi.
I watch it for both seiyuus. Especially ＨＥＹ！ＴＥＩＴＯＫＵ！
>Episode 3 was g̶o̶o̶d̶ shit
>hair too long
>not liking based two-tone hair
Its exact same shit we seen million times. It might have been nice dooring Moonphase, deja vu during Monogatari, now is just old and unoriginal.
Sakura Trick and Nourin are both better "shaft" shows than this. All talented people left SHAFT and Shinbo cant do shit by himself it seems. Its unlikely we`ll even see Kizu now, since person responsible for Monogatari left too
She makes the main girl a lot more likeable for me, Im glad she's voicing her.
I am manga fag. Episode 3 is where i dropped this.
>Just see WCW pretty much becoming anime of the season, while meanwhile actually quite popular manga like Nisekoi ruined by Shinbo and joining the ranks of his other failures.
Ha ha ha. You're wrong on 3 things. First being that WCW is becoming AotS, since it's crap. Second being that WCW source material isn't good. Third being that Nisekoi source material was even remotely good, holy shit it was fucking crap. If I hadn't starved myself out of romantic comedies for ages, I wouldn't even have considered watching this.
Yeah. If it were any other generic tsundere seiyuu, I would've disliked her.
I watched the first episode and its not that great. Im not watching it for SHAFT visuals because I've seen shaft shows before so their visuals are nothing new to me.
Son, we must gattai.
Not really. The story is simple but very appealing. The Shaft style really is like a great bonus however.
I'm not watching it BECAUSE it's SHAFT.
multiple maxed threads every day with people telling how they enjoy the show and excited about future episode
occasional thread asking if anyone still watches this and people arguing what is the reason its shiw - source manga or SHAFT ruining it
Marika is the best girl
SHAFT is silly to me especially in bakemono. The city never being detailed upsets me because I know they can make actual backgrounds like in arakawa bridge. I dont like looking at shapes, I want actual buildings
SHAFT really does not fit this show. I understand, that for some people artist painting with his shit has artistic value - but some things are better without it.
Its Negima/Natsu no Arashi all over again.
Yes, because as I said it, WCW is a good manga while Nisekoi is a garbage love triangle manga.
And you're deluded if you think number of thread is equal to quality. Because that way, I guess we can directly assume that Guilty Crown and Valvrave are each AotS, while every fucking one knows they're crap.
its a good show, even past its cliches
I agree with you anon. But for some reason this board likes to think SHAFT is some big note worthy studio in the industry. They're an average studio at best. They also work in probably the shittiest, cheap, rundown building in the industry.
In all honestly, they're small time comparatively to the many other studios.
>AOTS is Mahou Sensou
>Implying that's not a harem with all the bad cliches we've seen over 1000 times already
Animating about 3 frames per episode and filling the rest with line art doesn't even qualify for mediocre.
>Implying /a/ cares about orginality
Just stuff enough girls into it and you fags will eat anything up.
I wish your tastes were as sophisticated as mine.
Sad, the oneshot is fucking great.
Nisekoi since long ago isn't a triangle anymore
and the point was that people in the threads like WCW including the adaption, not just the number of threads
>Just stuff enough girls into it and you fags will eat anything up.
Doesn't work for me.
Not in this argument but you sound pretentious and its hilarious
>they'll never enjoy the animes as deeply as I do
Nisekoi is a shit though
Would you love your favorite manga being adapted in South Park style? Thats pretty much what SHAFT adaptation of this manga is equal too.
Which is shame, it could have been so good...
THAT is your favorite manga?
Jesus christ what is wrong with you.
The shaft visuals and the direction are good.
I personally hate tsunderes and misunderstandings but for some reason I'm enjoying this show, last episode really went fast it felt like 10 minutes.
My favorite manga is Ranma 1/2. I like Nisekoi since it reminds of the old Rumiko Takahashi harem and comedy, nostalgic feeling.
There are a lot of better manga titles, and i read hundreds of them, but that does not cancel Nisekoi being enjoyable weekly occurence - just like say Shoukugeki no Soma or Assclass,
Its fun how everyone was shitting on JC Staff, and in the end they turned out making great adaptation and among the most entertaining shows this season. Shitposting stopped already at episode 2.
Yes. They're visuals in an anime produced by the anime studio Shaft that have notably distinguishing qualities from other studios. What's the confusion?
>It might have been nice dooring Moonphase, deja vu during Monogatari, now is just old and unoriginal.
How about you take a moment to consider what IT is/ Coloring? Art style? Any specific techniques, like the pan and zoom? You're not very convincing and it just seems like you're jaded. If I try, I can somewhat see where you're coming from, but it seems like you're just overreacting? Do you get annoyed if a mangaka doesn't change their drawing style for each new project as well?
>Sakura Trick and Nourin are both better "shaft" shows than this.
In what way? What made you compare those shows to Shaft anyway? If they were really that great, wouldn't you be inclined to say that there are just other shows this season, like ST and Nourin, that are more visually appealing than Nisekoi? Do you see them as that much of a rip-off? Not that I do. That's just what you're implying.
How is it funny? They messed up some adaptions, people started to expect more and more of that from them, and they ended up getting WCW right. It's nice. It's a relief.
>80% of the show is minor variations on this camera angle with the characters always in the same positions.
sorry but your list became invalid right there
Onodera is beautiful in it. I want to pet her.
I watch it for the blushing and the excessive sweating, best time of the week.
I`ll leave rest of your posts aside, it seems you did not watch enougth SHAFT show to recognize the same direction, methods, camera work, panes, pretty much whole scenes recycled, so its pointless to argue that with you.
But just note that "SHAFT" style is not native "Studio" style or SHINBO style. Its work and creativity of a lot of people that worked in studio at different project and different times.
Shinbo has his own recognizable style he reuses from as early as Soul Taker and never did develop much. There are also other people that contributed a lot or developed own "shaft" styles working on Hidamari, EF, Pony Puni Dash even Bakemonogatari and Madoka.
A lot of people length left shaft (including even the Bakemonogatari director), and many responsible for "shaft style" do the same thing in other studios and works as its "their" style, not "shaft" style.
In particular Silverlink has many people from shaft, now Deen got some recently and few other studios and random projects.
Both Sakura Trick and Norin are mentioned, since they are created by ex-shaft people utilizing their native direction and art style.
For example this >>101034455 screenshot is comparison to DC III anime, made by current director of Sakura Trick and Hidamari Sketch and Natsu no Arashi series director, among other Shaft works.
>I watch it for the blushing and the excessive sweating,
this anon is doing it right >>101036558
Onodera mamma got brought down to bad tier after her shitty performance in the cake shop rivalry chapter.
Seriously, if you can't enjoy this show at any level, you might want to check your pulse, since you're probably all dead inside.
The more prominent example though is Nourin by Shin Oonuma, which was pretty much 2nd person in SHAFT and started developing what you call "shaft style" as early as Pani Poni Dash - pretty much the first SHAFT TV anime.
Meanwhile, Tatsuya Oishi, the person who made Bakemonogatari what it is - left SHAFT as well.
Thus SHAFT is really short at talent atm. Just a not - Inu Curry, a group that made Madoka visuals is NOT Shaft as well.
I thought she was hilarious
I'll still say that while I have some issues with the direction in Nisekoi, I don't believe it's a bad adaption and I still enjoy it.
Thank you for your time and explanations.
>Thus SHAFT is really short at talent atm
Shaft outsorces every single show to dozen studios and hundred freelancers as eary as Bakemonogatari.
Nisekoi is first show in a while where they dont actually oursorce half of it to others, even horrible Maria Holic was outsorced - let alone stuff like Madoka which is SHAFT in the name only, Production credits pretty small, though still all inbetweens and finishing done by other studio.
Than again, pretty much only KyoAni nowadays do shows entirely by themselves.
Well that's just a pile of opinions. I was just disappointed she was throwing those hardcore pissy faces everywhere she went for the whole chapter. It just seemed to get old fast.
I would put Ruri with Shu and Marika much lower because I hate her archetype, but it's well done chart.
>mfw I'm enjoying Nisekoi and there's nothing you can do about it
Marika's where she is because I feel she is a good example of a bad archetype. I don't particularly like it either, but she's done well overall. Plus she's the most physically attractive to me so I'm biased.
I would've put Ruri up there with Shuu, she certainly deserves it, but,
That's literally the only reason I'm watching.
>All these niggers hating on shaft
So, shit taste? You watch anime for headtilts exclusively?
>ahahahah ahah oh wow
>Its litterally reusing frames, and to that - frames from anime that does not belong to Shinbo
I love how it even uses the same exact eyebrow, but reversed.
Stop watching anime, if you can't stand the cliches anymore, you have watched to much anime, and will rarely find something "good" anymore. Why are you doing this, it's shitty for you and all the people who have to listen to your whining.
never imagined that looking for faults could ever be this pathetic
It's a shitty samefag. He thought they were using the same frames while they look nothing alike.
It's a generic romcom. Sometimes that's exactly what you need.
It would actually be pretty good if done by decent studio, which it is not.
Claude-san is moe.
For me it's the best Anime of the season until now. It's almost exactly what I wanted to see.
Well Onoderas whining is annoying, but having Chitoge I don't care.
>All this hipsters not liking good things
if chitoge was not in this i will probably watch , but nah ,
SHAFT haters pls go.
This is like the Mahou Sensou of Harems, how can you people watch it? Are you this far gone?
Well she looks strange and is constantly lying. Fuck her.
Why is this becoming a Shaft vs J.C. Staff war? I'd prefer if it stayed Shaft vs KyoAni.
Yeah shaft is responsible for Madoka and. Also for. And.
Nope they are shit besides Madoka.
Based JC Staff saves anime. TYJCS
>Well she looks strange and is constantly lying. Fuck her.
in a show where the other two main characters are lying about being in love.
Shaft = J.C. STaff > KyoAni
No. If anything, the Shaft visuals are my least favorite thing about it. I'm watching it because I like RomComs and this one has an interesting premise. Chitoge a best.
They at least have a reason. Onodera is lying because she's to "shy".
>posts pic of character
>neck obviously not broken
That ain't my SHAFT, nigga.
I keep seeing all these people saying Chitoge is awesome and hating on Onodera, do you hate love? Like, what the fuck man? Onodera is fucking adorable as shit and she's one of the best childhood friend characters in recent memory. Do heartfelt promises mean nothing to you people? I'm going to assume you're mangafags and that Chitoge does something VERY redeeming eventually because I really just can't see it at all right now. Her only strong point is her looks.
>god tier characters in Nisekoi.
we all agree that it's godshit tier, right?
Um dude, Onodera wasn't the girl from MC's past.
Yes, and it's pretty shitty without them. When they showed the thing where the weeds were in all different colors I decided to keep watching because there are some really pretty scenes.
Onodera is annoying, I hate this kind of senseless shy characters, she can't even tell him "yes I have a key".
And she doesn't even look cute.
Chitoge is at least fun and beautiful and can be cute.
Confirmed for not watching Shaft. Shaft doesn't put out nearly as much as JC Staff, but they put out much less shit.
What? I guess I need to re-watch these episodes again because I thought her entire purpose was that she IS the girl from the past but she's too shy to admit it.
But it's about similar styles, and J.C.Staff is doing excellently what Shaft only tries. And if someone some day takes away their rulers, people will realize that the praised backgrounds were mostly laziness and/or inability to draw.
>They at least have a reason
>Onodera is lying because she's to "shy".
and that isn't a good reason?
everybody in the series tells some sort of lie
>Raku and Chitoge about their relationship
>both Onoderas about their feelings for Raku
>Tsugumi, first about her gender and then to herself about Raku
>Marika most likely lying by omission since she obviously know more than she is letting on
>Shuu lied about the person he truly loves
every girl is a childhood friend, and they all have a key
Enjoy the show.
Anyone see the lyrics to the ED?
Is it a musical representation for the tsundere thought process?
That's what you're supposed to think, but she's not.
Her key isn't for the locket.
>Onodera wasn't the girl from MC's past.
yes she was both of them are, that's why the both have keys
And there are two other bitches that too have keys.
Well, that's neat. I look forward to this even more now.
the true promised girl might be number 4 for all we know
But it has not this:
I'm usually not that fond of Shaft going overboard with its brand of directing, but so far I thought they managed to enhance the source. Nisekoi is as generic romcom as they come, playing pretty much any cliche ion existence straight. It's main draw are the adorable art style and reaction faces. Shaft kept those and makes the rest interesting to look at. They didn't even veer off the plot so far.
I follow and enjoy the manga, and think that all that "waah they fucked up the manga, how dare you Shaft!" is really misplaced IMO. They made Chitoge and Kosaki adorable, kept the reaction faces, the OP song is nice, it has one of the best ED sequences of the season and managed to make the run-off-the-mill plot at least visually pleasant. Not saying it won't turn shit later on, but episodes 1-3 were cool adaptions.
SHAFT hate for the most part
people hate something, they immediately proclaim a comparable thing that can replace it as superior whether it's true or not
Also the fast cuts and weird transitions keep me awake when the actual story and characters are putting me to sleep.
>and that isn't a good reason?
No, that's what a lot of people hate in anime, characters who can't just tell how they feel. And in this case, it's especially shitty.
>No, that's what a lot of people hate in anime, characters who can't just tell how they feel
well then, THOSE people should probably not watch anime starring high schoolers
Many shows have that this season. My heart can't take much more.
