Why do people like this anime?
I don't need to explain myself to you.
Okay, but you WILL support your own enslavement by paying taxes.
I like some of the concepts, side characters, and designs. I absolutely love that episode where the female titan is introduced.
I dislike most of the main characters, the inconsistent pacing, and stupid shit the anime changed for no god damn reason.
It's a really neat premise. The mystery of the titans alone keep me interested, and the titans are also really fucking wacky looking. I also really liked the thick lines in the beginning and how absurd everyone's reactions were, what with winds kicking up and yelling going on.
It seems to have settled and while the action scenes are still really entertaining and well directed, the only absurd things going on are the titans. I don't really care too much about the characters, the pacing is way off, and the plot is a little ridiculous. However, I do like that the women in the show are treated as equals in all respects, gender isn't even a concern to anyone, and the entire anime is about sacrifice and hard decisions as opposed to the fighting spirit shit you see in a lot of animes. The titans are what really hook me but there are some characters that are worth it, like Armin with his master manipulation skills, and Hanji with her crazy as shit obsession with the titans.
I like the manga, though I've not read the last few chapters yet. Because I fucking hate the anime.
What in it changed?
Also the female titan is amazing. Watching her kill all of those people is mesmerizing. I know her breasts are made of fat but I also love how they animate them more like muscle than fat.
I watched the first episode of this anime and it tried to pull an emotional scene without me getting to know the characters.
Plus I find the whole titan thing silly. I was so uninterested that I didn't even finish the first episode.
I have no faith that it will get any better. Am I wrong?
It had a real strong start. I mean, the art is shit and has always been shit, and was MUCH worse when the manga was just getting rolling - but it still had an intriguing story and characters who seemed like that had plenty of room to grow and develop.
Long story short, I got into it at first for its potential.
Now, while I still follow it, it's more just because I've invested so much time already I want to see what happens and how everything is resolved. Overall, I'm disappointed. Don't misunderstand - the series still has its moments: Utgard was absolutely phenomenal, and while I'm not sure how I feel about Eren's coordinate ability I still really enjoyed that scene between him and Mikasa (I thought it was really powerful).
But the characters haven't gone anywhere. Eren is BEGINNING to, finally, which is fantastic - but Mikasa was reduced to almost purely "Eren! Eren! Eren!", Armin was reduced to just being smart (which he isn't, really - for instance when they were capturing Annie, why the fuck wouldn't they capture her while asleep), Levi is just an irritable asshole, Jean is still just a flat out douche-canoe who's pissy over being friendzoned....
Plus the story just seems to not be going anywhere anymore... maybe that's just the monthly release schedule killing me, though. Makes downtime in the story seem much longer.
TL;DR - I got into it for the potential, and have found myself somewhat disappointed.
Not entirely, the titans end up being really interesting and there's a really good arc where they try to reclaim a district. Some of the humor is great, too, just because it's so unexpected. There are some really stupid shitty episodes, though.
It's a straightforward action story that isn't drawn-out battle shonen with people to root for and amorphous unexplained villains to hate as well as cool action sequences and good music.
It's rare in this day and age, surprisingly.
Of course people like it.
It's not that it's great, it's that most anime is shit.
Attack of Titan is the modern day Death Note.
People who don't even like anime like this show.
I'm glad there's going to be a second season eventually because that means chapter 35 is going to get animated. I don't really give a shit about the rest though.
But Death Note was good
Don't tell me you don't think this scene is intensive and emotional as fuck. And there are tons of these in the anime. Better then every other animes I know.
>Death Note was good
So it's good?
That fight was pretty dumb actually, especially the stupid shit they changed from the manga.
This is why the SnK fanbase is disregarded.
why I have to explain you shit, I just like what I like, period.
Its the shonen flavor of the season, much like SAO or FMA or Bleach. Give it a couple years, and it too will pass.
moshi moshi bait desu~
>clicked that expecting to see Pixis' right hand man jumping inside the mouth of a titan to save some random squadmate
>got Eren rage scene #235
>one retard in the whole thread
Also, why do people keep replying in obvious bait threads like this? Why not just discuss it in an SnK thread and ignore retarded threads like this one?
One hat, two hats
One bike, two bikes
One anime, two animes
But it's not just one person, anon~kun. The majority of the SnKTV fanbase is made up of normies and casuals who don't even watch anime.
These people are not on /a/ though.
Except in summer. Summer doesn't count.
I read and watch it for the titans. I like their creepy designs. i do not give two shits about Eren Jaenger-management, MarySue-kasa, or any of the other human characters.
Seriously, tell me you don't enjoy this shit.
I seriously hate this. The only time where Eren either isn't out of control or butthurt enough that he stops making rational decisions for the entirely of his transformation and they decide to fuck it up with Erengelion: Flaming Faggot Edition.
It is intense and the emotion I felt was confusion.
Having only watched the first episode then realizing that titans had people in them due to this clip and then wondering what the motivations of the people in the titans are is interesting.
Having a villains that are essentially a giant apes was extremely boring to me. But yeah, now I wonder why they are attacking this town.
The action doesn't get me too excited.
As always it looks nice.
I have neutral feelings towards the titans. Unless they can think and talk, they are little more than animals.
I think you just like zombie gory stuff.
That scene does remind me of evangelion.
If titan is similar enough to eva, it's shit.
I don't like the anime. The manga is good.
It's been already explained why people like it and why people hate it in thousand of other threads like this before.
So lurk the fuck more and stop posting threads about this shit series.
>amorphous unexplained villains to hate
Except that Isayama portrays the villains in a somewhat good light.
They're more popular and liked that the protagonists themselves.
