What happened, where are the subs?
Sub is coming in the next couple hours or more.
Waiting for Anime-Koi, knowing them will probably be up in ~7 hours.
I'm hyped regardless of the talking for a whole episode.
Why? This shits so god damn reused and cliched, it hurts.
I'm more interested in the Japanese sub if anyone has it.
I like it, I don't know why. It just looks really good.
Oh man, I started watching this with my bro. We watched VVV together too and agreed on most things. This is just so funny and goddamn good at the same time. Like, you know all those fucking cliches, you know all that shit, yet it's still so entertaining.
AOTS for me.
Cliche, general, simple and basics done right. That's why it's entertaining.
"Cliche" is a cliche word at this point. It only means negative with the reused settings or plots are over emphasized or made to be melodramatic. This show's story and animation has very good foundation so it can only stay the same or get better over time.
How was episode 4?
At least it wasn't subbed.
a lot of exposition from Aboa's trip back to Nippon land. But it wasn't boring thanks to Rin - I mean Mayuka-chan's moe moments. Aoba's character was developed pretty well. He's really a cool guy.
Are you joking? He went full muh insecurities before going back to the main ship.
There was so much talking they even left out the OP. It was good talking as well.
>Aoba getting his shit slapped
>apologizing to Lee and getting a stern talking to
>all that Mayaka development
>Mayaka cannot into climbing
>Commander and Second-Lieutenant drinking after work
>moe commander brushing his teeth
>crippled Dio imouto
He has the right to be insecure. Everything he knew and loved are gone. But that didn't make him start acting like a little bitch. He is calm and collected.
>he mentions his sister
>she probably died of old age or an illness
>hell she's probably still alive
>she probably has alzheimer's
Watase Aoba has had a hard life.
>moe commander brushing his teeth
He was insecure because Sugita got hit, not because he's in the future. As much as I'm enjoying BC a big part of Aoba's character is forced for the sake of plot.
>trusts Hina instantly even though he barely spoke with her
>walks around inside a place he's not familiar with without giving a single thought about his friends, family or location
>his only concern is a girl he spent at most 10 minutes with even though he's in the future
>suddenly brings up his family when trying to bond with Dio midair when he never mentioned them or how he missed them until this very episode
It feels like we're supposed to roll with cliche developments even though nothing hints them just because. "Here, this is the MC, this has always been important to him even though it was never mentioned, now let's just move on to the fight"
>Buddy Complex 19:00 PST
>current time about 10:46
Sorry to break it to you but Horrible's schedule is kind of messed up since last week.
Anime-Koi subs were posted last week around 11PM, GMT. It will most likely be the same today.
I'm waiting for Anime-koi since it is faster than Horribe subs.
Sunsise puts BC on yt on Tuesdays
I refuse to download Funimation rips. I can deal with CR rips, but Funimation tends to look really off.
I want Dio to punch my face and yell at me.
>trusts Hina instantly even though he barely spoke with her.
At first he got into the robot because he knew it's the safest place to be in since a crazy dude was trying to kill him.
The girl was piloting a giant mech for fuck sake, it's not hard to believe she is from the future anymore, especially assuming Aoba has watched the same amount of sci-fi entertainment as us.
When they were moving through the wornhole, Aoba trusted Hina because he though she would be with him to the other side.
>walks around inside a place he's not familiar with without giving a single thought about his friends, family or location
>his only concern is a girl he spent at most 10 minutes with even though he's in the future
>suddenly brings up his family when trying to bond with Dio midair when he never mentioned them or how he missed them until this very episode.
Aoba still thought that looking for Hina will help him get back to his family. Because of that belief, finding Hina took top priority. After seeing Hina not remembering him, Aoba knew he is stuck for real so he started thinking about family and friends.
You got it wrong, Crying about "muh family and friends" would be a cliche development.
Dio loves his sister though. It's a different kind of love.
The best kind of love.
>he got into the robot because he knew it's the safest place to be
Nope, he was running away from Hina's robot until she opened the hatch and told him to hop in.
>Aoba still thought that looking for Hina will help him get back to his family
That's conjecture. He was only thinking about the mysteriousness surrounding Hina and curious about what happened, never for a moment showing any concern for the people he left behind or disgust in case he ended up trapped in that time. He only remembers he is supposed to have a family when they go back to mainland and he finds out his house is gone. He isn't even shocked when Mayuka couldn't find his imouto, he just shrugs and keeps walking.
Not crying about muh family and muh friends and then out of nowhere saying he misses them just to have Dio trust him is forced. It would have been fine if he casually said "I wonder what happened to them" or "you remind me of my little sister" for a split second in some of the other episodes, but no, there's only Hina. We're supposed to think he cares about them that much just because, even if they spent the past episodes making it clear the only thing in Aoba's head is Hina.
>>moe commander brushing his teeth
I need this
This is my first mecha anime and I happen to like it. Always thought I wouldn't like mecha. Well, actually, I don't enjoy the mecha themselves, they're just more or less generic action scenes. Why do I even like this then? I don't even know any more.
Watching 25 shows this season incl. leftovers, maybe getting used to eating shit.
Is he more moe than Ral ?
How old are you?
> Nope, he was running away from Hina's robot
Because he didn't know who the pilot was.
> never for a moment showing any concern for the people he left behind
He was in a war zone with trying to pilot a robot to save himself. He was looking for Hina to find a link to the past. Both are well higher priority than thinking about family. Only when he was safe and found out Hina rejecting him that Aoba had time to reminiscent about family.
If you were to be dropped into a forest surrounded by wolves, what would you do? Fight to survive and think about family after you are safe in a cave, or cry about your precious normal family life and get eaten?
> He isn't even shocked when Mayuka couldn't find his imouto, he just shrugs and keeps walking
What can he do now? Yelling at her like an immature brat would not change anything. Aoba's reminiscent about his family at this point after all the hectic has passed is pretty logical of a collected and more-mature-than-his-age character. People spent too much time projecting what others would react while forget that everyone is different. I won't call anything we see from Aoba until now "foreced" unless he deviates from this established character in future eps.
Actually Red Baron or whatever might have been my first mecha show instead when it aired in Turkish television ("Kızıl Baron"), but I must've been like 5 then, extremely vague memory, my 3 years older brother used to like it and I watched it with him. I think we used to watch that soccer anime, Tsubasa or something, at around the same time. Those must be some of my earliest fucking memories ever, wow.
Actually, checking Wikipedia I see it's originally a live-action series, with an anime adaptation. I'm not sure now if it was the live-action or the anime that we watched. Maybe both.
Also sorry for blogshit, just had some kind of toddler-level nostalgia.
I wasn't talking during the fight. Check my initial post, I pointed out the things I find forced about Aoba. I think his reactions during the fights are believable, even when he got out of Luxon to check on Hina midair. She was a familiar face, it isn't that hard to understand why he would forget what he was doing to try to get to her. But when he's outside of the robot, by himself, safe and sound on firm ground, all he ever does is stare at her hairpin and think about her, he never talks about his friends or family. There's nothing there to show he is concerned about them or how important they are to him. Even in this episode when he was visiting his house he doesn't look bothered, he's just "oh hey, I don't have a house, my parents are probably dead and so is my sister. Oh well, let's go check the school". But again, this is all fine until this point because Aoba was never worried about them, maybe he's that sort of guy or something. But then he goes all muh family on Dio during that last fight and THAT's what I have a problem with.
It's fine, don't worry. Many mecha aren't actually about the robots, you should check more of them if you like Buddy.
If family was not important to Aoba, he wouldn't bother visiting the old place anyway.
> All he ever does is stare at her hairpin and think about her
That's before he found out this Hina doesn't know him. As I've said, finding Hina had been his priority. Hina is the only person Aoba thought can help him get back to the past. The events up to now are logical:
- In the future robot fight for his life, no time for family.
- On the ship with Dio not reconsigning Hina. Want to meet Hina for explanation and way to get back, no time for family.
- Fight to protect the ship and his life, no time for family.
- Find out the Hina doesn't know him either. Want to visit his hometown, family time.
- Find out they are gone. Accept the truth without bitching, family time.
- Realize there's no way he can meet his family again. Start missing them. Tell Dio about that feeling.
I think he visited his house because he was curious, nothing more. And he didn't even know Hina was there in the future, he thought she was gone. He only met her immediately before this episode so you're ignoring parts and confusing some events.
>- In the future robot fight for his life, no time for family.
>- On the ship with Dio not reconsigning Hina. Want to meet Hina for explanation and way to get back, no time for family.
>- Fight to protect the ship and his life, no time for family.
- Spend time inside the ship. Mayuka tells him about things but he falls asleep. The only thing he holds a conversation around is Hina. If there was a good moment to show he cared about his family this would have been it.
>- Find out the Hina doesn't know him either.
>Want to visit his hometown, family time.
Wrong. They just happened to land in Aoba's town and he went for a walk because moe commander suggested it (I think).
>- Find out they are gone. Accept the truth without bitching
Wrong, he doesn't talk about his family after it.
>- Realize there's no way he can meet his family again.
>Start missing them.
Wrong, he doesn't think about them after it. The only thing on his mind is Sugita.
- Get into a fight that ended up being about protecting Dio's family
- Suddenly remembers he used to had one and uses it to convince Dio to team up
Is how it went. He only remembers he has a family when it's convenient for the plot. It's either forced or Aoba is a manipulative hypocrite (I'd be fine with that).
I think you prefer things to be spelled out rather than subtly inferred. You should also wait for subs to get a more completed picture. I predict family and getting back to his time will be an important part of this show, not just for plot convince like you said. Aoba is also not a manipulated type. Dio uniting with his family will compel Aoba to think about his even more. Even the ED emphasizes the important of "home." We should expect "home" to be a big theme in this show.
[22:47:17] <Janol> Buddy today?
[22:54:11] <~Layton> uploading buddy complex now
I'm fine with subtle hints but there's nothing to infer here. Did you read my suggestions earlier? A good way to hint he misses them would be casually telling Mayuka how she reminds him of his sister or something. But Aoba never talks about them until he visits his home this episode. Then suddenly he's worried about them during a fight because it's a good way to connect with Dio. If it was supposed to be THAT important they should have hinted it somewhere in the past 3 episodes to make it look less forced.
>[Anime-Koi] Buddy Complex - 04 [h264-720p][09AFD05A].mkv
Best girl right here.
>all those couples already in place
Lee has Science-chan, Dio probably has something with Twin-tails and Commander and Second-Lieutenant probably have something too.
and I hope they all die
Lee is the Lockon of this series isn't he?
Get out of here Bizon, this is a Liberty thread!
He's the Sugita of this series, isn't that enough already?
/r/ing ass or srt file for episode 4
Why didn't he make a visit to the old folks home to see if any of his classmates were still around?
sweet, thanks bro
I remember we were taking about this in the thread last week.
Yeah someone actually predicted that
I like it, they may be going safe route but it's still interesting.
I just want to see one of his basketball buddies be the evil Zoggilian prime minister or something.
>Those similar looks
Tell me I'm wrong, /a/.
Because he didn't think of it?
Also, what good would knowing some old classmates do? (aside from maybe being able to locate his sister IF she's still alive) He's searching for his 'home', a place where he belongs, and didn't find it in his hometown.
It's been 80 years hasn't it? They're all dead.
He said he looked like his Father although he doesn't look much like his picture from the first episode.
74 years. 2014 -> 2088.
>Dio punching him the first second
No OP this episode, strange
Why would his last name be Weinberg? Also different eyes.
Japanese women life long that his sister could be alive
I bet the old mechanic guy is like Aoba's sister's husband or something.
Also, I wonder if what that one friend of Aoba's said in the first episode is foreshadowing, where he told of how Aoba went to that school just for his sake, which was due to injury or something. Maybe that means Aoba will switch sides at some point, or it may just be referring to how Hina did so.
Military grade surveillance
Damn that'd be some foreshadowing.
He's too young for that. Remember his sister would be 88, the mechanic was unlikely older than 70.
So the captain is cold blooded. Those lazy eyes are just for show.
Also, is Dio Aoba's grandnefew then? How will Aoba react to his imouto being such a slut? Will her hit her some more when he sees her again?
She can't do a single pullup either. Is there no basic training nowadays?
I don't know about the rest of the world but women in most US military branches don't have to do pull ups to pass pt.
>So the captain is cold blooded.
What? The captain is just genre savvy as fuck. "They still aren't getting along?"
Either his imouto was a cougar or the mechanic uses nippon ninjutsu to hide his aged appearance.
Does the archetype of "person with closed eyes is secretly evil" extend to droopers too?
Was Yang cold blooded too?
That is possible. His took gaijin's dick
He ordered his lieutenant to shoot Aoba on the spot if he wanted to stay behind.
>implying he wasn't 100% certain he would comeback
You can't really blame the captain for that honestly since it's the military and all.
Yang would have been if he were more proactive.
Only if he deemed it necessary.
I don't blame him at all but I think it would have been more reasonable to detain him. But given the war situation and limited time I understand.
I'm still unsure on the physics of this.
>you will never again see a show where the fate of an entire galaxy changes because of one man's need for a pension.
>Irresponsible Captain Tylor
If he forced him to stay he might have not been as likely to cooperate with them.
Nice to see Aoba reminisce a bit and Mayuka start to believe him and help him out (especially when he pulls the "laughing but actually depressed" thing). There hasn't really been time for much character focus with all the action going on the past two episodes.
I don't even know what you are talking about.
She's a woman. Obviously this anime is being realistic rather than pandering to the "Action Guurrrlll" stereotype.
He looks like the picture of Aoba's dad.
Oh shit she's going all out.
Is she witnessing a First Proposal?
I think she might be evil.
I wonder when Dio will get his episode
He doesn't give a shit.
Capped because Sugita
Gives extra minutes.
dio's father is definitely dying. probably because of him being incompetent at some point, maybe refusing to trust aoba
>they were going to have him killed
Commander-kun cold as fuck.
also mayuka a best. hope they don't force a relatiobship with hina. fuck that
I'm not complaining. Must be expensive though, and with all the action and CG in the first 2 episodes.
Hina probably goes Yanyan, future Aoba doesn't accept her. They fight, he dies, Mayuka cries, Hina goes back in time.
It might be the next one, I want to believe "scar" is connected with Dio. I didn't do that on purpose.
I meant 3 episodes
Also angsty no-eyes Dio's fucking things up
the OP is very generic in a bad way
Which thread are we in?
He can't stand the filthy rude civilian who keeps calling him by his first name.
It's 12 episodes, they are either wasting time for her or she just picking deathflags.
That makes no sense, Aoba must arouse her so she would be wet everytime she sees him before going back in time.
both op and ed aren't really anything special. who cares though. valvrave had some amazing songs and good editing in the op/ed sequences and turned to shit into season 2. gundam seed and destiny had awesome ones too
i mean, it's cool when it works but i'd rather have a decent show
No idea. I'm jumping between the two.
>Mayaka cannot climb
>is a soldier
Japan 70 years later.
Both. We're coupling, silly.
That's how you do it
I honestly like Aoba
All this 2D mech fighting
Seems like they go out of their way for every episode to have at least a little of mecha action.
THAT SCARE CHORD
What an odd choice. Maybe she's evil.
Why didn't she tell this to our pilots before they left?
Did they finally confirm it as 12? pls no
Next episode too, seems like. I think it'll all be Dio and his family stuff for the first half, and then action in the second half, so like this one.
and some of that sweet battleship action too.
Since it's only 12 episodes they're trying to cram everything in. They can't afford to play grab ass and sing "you are hero in your life".
So the episodes are coupled too
Yeah Valvrave gets 24 while this gets 12. There is no justice left in the world.
They're having them couple on screen every time instead. Not that I'm complaining about young adults exchanging coupling pleads every week.
Science-chan is the ideal "fujo" self-insert. She's incredibly smart and good looking. Her superiority is compounded when contrasted with Lee, who was presented as an archetypal brave fool in the infirmary room scene, where from a female perspective she would be seen as the rational one. Also, she is a prominent figure in the top secret coupling (ie shipping) project, where two are linked at the level of consciousness. She is also the one who forces the whole "coupling" and "proposing" thing, while for Aoba and Dio it's just "connective" and "accept". Dio is the bottom, and was a bit tsuntsun this episode when his emotions got in the way of him "accepting" Aoba. But Aoba is a smooth talker and was able to lay some lines (which seemed forced since it was only revealed earlier in the episode) down in order for Dio to get in the mood and let Aoba "connect" with him.
No, but is it actually confirmed? Before everybody was just basing it off 2 eps per volume, but that really doesn't mean a whole lot. Personally, I still think its going to be 24 eps. Unless you guys have some actual sauce backing up that its 12, cause I haven't seen any announcments about that yet
They are having an event at Anime Japan 2014 in March when the show ends, so they might announce something.
I wonder when we'll see this semen demon again
Also, so little fanart
What is that even
Hina, please take your art somewhere else.
Unrelated. I like the OP.
HATAKEI MADAMI NU SORA NI
Its gonna be split cour, I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.
Now I'm less certain about this, but the first cour will be about all the events leading up to the first ep, and the 2nd cour will be him and future Hina doing stuff mech stuff together. You know, mech stuff and shit
>She's a woman. Obviously this anime is being realistic rather than pandering to the "Action Guurrrlll" stereotype.
who's sexist now?
I agree with this post and have nothing of significance to add so have a picture instead.
Sugita getting some love
What was forced about it? He basically said "Well my family is dead, so I want to protect yours". It's not like he needs hours to think about it
Realizing that boys and girls are different is sexist?
Stop being lewd.
This image should start every Buddy Complex thread.
She's telling him that she like Aoba and that he keep it a secret (not that she herself is doing a good job at hiding it.)
>Wanna connective Dio?
Miss No Upper Body Strength, reporting
No love for the other dude I see.
Quick little poll: Do Aoba and Hina get together and stay together when the series is all over and done, or is one of them going to die, or will a third event take place that keeps them separated, like time travel shenanigans or something?
>Also, so little fanart
the generic looks and synopsis is why lots of peeps in Japan are ignoring it
maybe if they added more female pilots or have Mayu deciding to drop being a bridge bunny and be pilot so she can couple with Aoba
seriously, Studio 8 is just coasting with this series
their big guns is Love Live and maybe their 10th Anniversary Mai Hime series
Nobody can compare to Sugita
And he only had one line anyways
Something will cause Hina to go back in time to protect or be with Aoba.
Probably his death.
>the magician doesn't return.png
Dio has it too. This is conjecture but assuming that's their last name written in Japanese order, he could be half eleven on his father's side.
The kanji (隼鷹) means falcon/hawk but I think it's also the name of a Japanese ship.
I don't know why everybody thinks Sugita's going to bite it when this guy has absolutely zero character development beyond his face.
They wanted to do a series that didn't revolve all around girls, though
But where are their sources?
Maybe they should just go back to what they do best. I certainly don't want other studios handling their cute girl shows.
This pic is way better than that one
I bet on an Escaflowne end.
And rumors said that they kill half of cast
You know what would be good fanart?
A picture of Hina (as she is) eyeing up a shota-Aoba, saying "Hey kid, wanna connective Dio?"
They really let anyone into Zogilia don't they?
Rumors also said that all the boys would wind up with girlfriends to make it less gay.
Quick, figure out which guys don't have obvious love interests!
I can't fujoship in this show, Aoba isn't cute enough. Where's Haruto when you need him.
>They wanted to do a series that didn't revolve all around girls, though
it's not going to sell in the long run
preorder rankings are tanking
but hey, i guess they could do whatever they want...
God damn it. I don't think I've ever wanted a HanaKana girl to win so bad. Why can't she ever win for once?
>Aoba isn't cute enough
You take that back, Zogilian scum.
>Be a true Patriot for most of your life. They lock you up just because the enemy pilot is crazy.
Being Zogilia Hina is suffering.
Pre-orders on Amazon where there is no exclusive content.
meh just a precaution, we can tell by this eps PV that she'll be piloting again by next ep
Oh my, there's actually some lewd genderbend art
Man, that left eye looks really off. Head-on she's probably got a massive WTF expression.
There's something wrong with his face, it's not cute at all.
And they are doing a good job, this is one of the most enjoyable mecha anime from the last years, faggots can't appreciate it.
>I don't think I've ever wanted a HanaKana girl to win so ba
It's your first anime or what? She doesn't even have romantic feelings for him.
I heard a rumour that nobody will die until the end though
Doesn't matter. The damage has been done and once her commanding officer Alfred bites it she will no longer have any reason to stay in Zogilia.
>God damn it. I don't think I've ever wanted a HanaKana girl to win so bad. Why can't she ever win for once?
all she needs to do is drop being bridge bunny, train to be a pilot and join Aoba
c'mon Sunrise just do it!
Lasha obviously wants Alfried's dick and hair
>only 3 pages on pixiv
It just keeps getting worse.
Her fault for falling for a guy who is clearly obsessed with another girl
Did I post that. I meant to post one of my Alfred pictures. Such a cool guy.
I said less gay.
Judging by the pants, Lasha's a boy.
Hey, hey you! Do you know what liberty stands for?
Series is too short, she's only getting deathflags
It really is. Lots of good mecha action every episode, well drawn and cgi blends really well, ship warfare, drama kept to a minimum and Aoba is a generally likable character. All in all I'm having the most fun actually watching this show.
He is pretty cool. I like that they both seem to care about her.
> Lasha's a boy.
That won't stop my dick.
If only official art was that cute.
You're a fucking autist who needs shit spelled out for you constantly. I can already tell you're going to ruin these threads.
What about guy on the right?
The fact that this show isn't more popular is a sign that 95% of those watching anime have irredeemably shit taste
Dio's imouto is kind of shit, design wise.
Wizard Barristers has one fanart.
>Ha ha, time for surveillance!
Samefag as top picture? Could be a dead pilot or from a different fleet.
What expression is this trying to convey?
And well deserved, it's the disappointment of the season, it should bomb hard.
Her design wasn't that interesting in the OP but she looked really cute in the actual episode.
Their faces and jawlines are quite large and masculine, how can you not find that cute
But here's a Haruto for your pleasure
Typical Paddies, doing anything to fuck over the Brits,
He's so smug his mouth has two line breaks.
>Hoping for some Ace Attorney shit with Wizards and hard-working muggles
>Get Wizard Barristers instead
Might be the character design.
Damn that one's still a mystery, right? Surprised he's a guy though and not a tomboy. Still hot as hell.
He might be Marcus, or might be related to Mr Evil Coupling Scientist, because of the hair.
Watch your mouth.
I'm pretty sure Marcus is this guy. Plus it doesn't make sense why he's standing in front of a grunt Valiancer if he is.
Indescribably comfy smugness.
No more guns, Dio.
Marcus sure is fabulous.
Too fabulous to live
It's just Aoba, everyone else looks cute. I wonder if it's the short hair.
I thought he was one of the Mobage characters.
Doesn't seem to be.
Not every is listed on your picture, these two are also from mobage >>101054869
Any news on the manga? They were released today.
Is that even the full roster. I mean the blond girl here >>101054869 isn't on there nor has she shown up in the anime.
It's the full pilot roster. Maybe the other girl is a bridge bunny or something.
I didn't even know one was being made.
All of the stuff that I'm enjoying the most this season is rather unpopular. Maybe I'm the one with shit taste.
Two actually. One will focus on Aoba and Dio and the other one is an original story based on the mobage. Both released on the same day.
It's a balanced season, outside of 3 or 4 circlejerks most series have an average following, it's better in that way.
Ah there it is
Guess I'll wait for scans
The manga made them extra handsome. I like it.
They look older and prettier faces
Hina looks green and evil.
Manga Aoba looks like a complete and total bro
Her hand placement makes it look like she's doing an evil laugh.
>Yeah Valvrave gets 24 while this gets 12. There is no justice left in the world.
More like you don't get it. This could easily get 12 as a S2.
>"Thanks for saving our lives, son. Now get the fuck out."
Swell guy there.
Does studio 8 have any public plans after Love Live S2?
>still no gif of captain brushing his teeth
Don't make me stop being a whiny useless piece of shit and learn how to make gifs just for this.
That was a great fucking episode. Aoba is great and is the kind of MC I like. Makes mistakes but is still capable of getting shit done, is self-aware most of the time, isn't an emofaggot or pervert etc. Looking forward to next week's development.
I don't know how to make them either, anon...
hnnnnnnnnggg is episode 5 out yet?
Not for 7 days
I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw Gendo.
Is this really going to only be 12 episodes? Doesn't seem like enough, I bet the ending will be a bloodbath if it is.
Here's my prediction for the next few episodes
>episode 5: Dio's past explored, relation to Aoba confirmed, Aoba meets his sister, more mecha fighting
>episode 6: nation building episode focusing on the origins of Zogilla and confederate, interesting histories and political theories with mech mechanics and physics revealed
>episode 7: Hina and friends get into a tussle with Aoba and friends, people die, Aoba becomes ready to kill Hina as a means of resolving the time paradox and saving his friends
>episode 8: series is cancelled
>Series getting cancelled
That doesn't happen anymore.
And then the studio just sits on their butts until spring?
It's a Sunrise mecha, I'm surprised none of the main characters have died already.
It depends on how many plots and characters this show actually wants to cover instead of just Aoba time travel problem. Although ending a whole war in 12 episodes seems like a little much.
they said for the COUPLINGU to work the pilots had to trust each other. plothole much? how did they do it before then, when dio doesn't trust aoba? especially in episode 2.
Seems you don't believe in trust at first sight.
they hadn't even seen each other
In the beginning, I figure Dio had no choice but to trust the guy. After getting to know Aoba and realizing he's a complete idiot, I'd revoke his synchronized trust-powered robot mind piloting privileges, too.
Because Dio didn't know Aoba, but the empha-bullshit-something values were high, so he just put some blind faith into him in order to power up.
Now, he outright distrusts Aoba because he did something so stupid and risky that it could have cost people's lives. (Also, he may have loyalites to the enemy)
It's a difference between "Well, I guess I could" and "No fucking way"
Dio seemed to be willing to trust and take the risk at the time. They were kinda desperate and all. This time Dio was downright angry with Aoba and wary of the stupid stunt he pulled on the previous battle.
No opinion on Aoba is better than negative opinion on Aoba.
They probably meant "not having a problem with each other". Dio accepted his help the first two couplings because even though he didn't know Aoba, he didn't have a problem with him either. This time Dio was angry at him.
He'll go back to hating Aoba once Fiona starts wanting Aoba's D too.
>This time Dio was angry at him.
I know it's probably too much to ask, but I hope they don't just sweep this all under the rug because Aoba helped Dio save his imouto. I mean, that's great and all, but that doesn't change the fact that he recklessly endangered the lives of pretty much everyone he knows in the future and then fully admitted that he didn't know whether or not he'd do it again. I know we don't have very many episodes for them to build up camaraderie, but you can't just let that shit go.
Calm down, buddy. No one's ruining anything, this is a good thread. No need to insult either.
anon that post was nearly two hours ago
Just fyi for future episodes, funimation (and horriblesubs rip) is a 1.5 day latecast. fansubdb is a good place to find simulcast schedules so you know when to expect subs.
I wouldn't count on more screentime dedicated to camaraderie seeing how they quickly handled their coupling problems this episode. At this rate all it will take to make them the best buddies is Aoba defending Dio in front of his father. Maybe Aoba will try to twist Dio's father's nipples through his clothes while the old man goes "So you made a friend" on Dio.
And? The guy who made the post will still probably read the reply.
Dio still seemed pretty reluctant even when he accepted the coupling, he still only did it to save his family
Of course the next episode will provide some coupling bonding
He went through the trouble of replying to 4 hour old posts, it's only fair.
It's really hard talking about coupling seriously without grinning like a retard.
Dio's dad will get together with Aoba's mom when the WB ship gets stuck into a time travel hole next episode.
>Dio, Aoba, Fiona and Tsubasa are siblings
I like it.
Maybe I'm too desensitized for this shit, but I barely flinch at all the coupling and proposition. I shrug it as fujo service or just elevens being silly with engrish.
This is the face of an experienced military pilot.
I got past the coupling but every time I hear "proposing" I can't help but roll my eyes.
She's out of practice.
Blue Eyes White Dragon jet a best.
>Mayu can't do a single pullup
>Hina can't catch an eraser
The future is a stupid place.
Well, pacifists probably won, so only stupid people are allowed to fight wars now.
>This is the face of an experienced military pilot in love.
I pay no attention to it when I'm concentrated but when I lose my focus and look at it abstractly, everything's so ridiculous I can't help my face muscles.
Is it just me or are most people vastly overestimating the amount of time Aoba and Hina spent together in the future.
>I never imagined I'd get to sit next to you
I dunno, I just get the feeling they had very little interaction
>women in the military today
>able to do pullups
They're all gone weak because the mechs do all the fighting for them.
Not every military position requires you to be able to do physical stuff. Mayuka is an aide to a scientist, she needs brains more than anything. Hina is smitten and probably in the military for other reasons.
I don't want to shatter the shippers' delusions but I believe their interactions won't even get near Liz-Elf tier. The way she keeps looking at him in episode 1 it's as if she never had a chance to look at him properly or if she did, it was from afar.
Good. This leaves room for Mayu to win. And by win I mean spend a little more quality time with Aoba before dying horribly.
Seriously though, you're right. They will probably not spend much time together, or in good terms, and she will probably only see him as someone of vital importance a little before traveling back in time.
Is everyone in the airforce weak because planes fight for them?
Us other branches didn't call it the Chair Force for nothing
She might not be dead. Having Aoba's sister get sent to the future as well is just the sort of tweest I would expect from Sunrise.
Is everyone in the Navy weak because marines fight for them?
So if Aoba got sent to his own future and not some alternate timeline, shouldn't there be a record of the whole "giant mechs appearing out of nowhere" incident? It was witnessed by a ton of people and even left considerable damage to the surrounding infrastructure, so wouldn't it then be easy to verify Aoba's story? Though, I guess one thing which could prevent that is the thing about the databases being messed up.
I had a friend in the Air Force and they had their Cold Weather Survival training canceled because it was too cold outside. Not even joking
i think you mean that for past Aoba...the future Aoba and her must be interact quite a lot that made her like him, she know dio and bizon know Aoba prove both side will interact much
She did say they lost a lot of data so there's a chance she's alive but her records were lost.
When I saw the school destroyed I thought Mayuka was going to say it happened decades ago as the result of a prototype test, but she had to ruin it when she said it was something recent. They could still have covered it up or lost the data, I guess. Otherwise we're looking at parallel universes.
>there is no residential data of "Watase Tsubasa".
Perhaps they can't find her current location because she's no longer a Watase?
I think you meant Navy Seals. Marines are a different branch.
Yeah she's Tsubasa Weinberg
Sunrise, you have one job.
That's what I've been thinking. People keep bringing up theories about Dio's father looking like Aoba's father, but his biological sister never left the past...
>Making a scientist's aide do military surveillance.
Out of the possible hundreds of capable crewmen/trained personnel on that ship.
Elvira clearly wants the lee dick
Why isn't he giving it
pretty sure he is anon
Captain was just doing that because he thought she could convince Aoba to stay. The lieutenant was the actual one who was doing surveillance.
They had the sub-captain in Golgo mode if he ever left the area. Didn't you watch the episode?
She volunteered herself.
>That "hm?" like he has no idea why Dio is upset.|
So far he's my favorite character.
Are you saying Aoba is Dio's same age idiot uncle who keeps embarrassing him in public by saying he wants to couple with him while Tsubasa is Dio's clumsy mother who had a tragic accident a few years ago where she lost her life trying protect Fiona from some Zogilian bandits?
> Tsubasa is Dio's clumsy grandmother/great grandmother
Fixed that for you.
That guy must spend his monthly paycheck on hair wax.
We need more laid back, lazy looking guys who are actually competent like him. I love how little fucks he gives but yet he's a good commander.
>what will you do if you're waifu shoots at you, will you get someone else killed?
>maybe. probably. I don't know
>good, surely nothing can go wrong!
You're off by a generation or two, but sure, why not.
Dio being Aoba's (great) grandnephew would also help explain their compatibility.
Captain's just an elaborate matchmaker. He seems amused by human interactions, especially with young people. Why else would he also send Aoba with Dio to accompany the ship to landing? Because he must know about Dio's bad relationship with his father. Twintails seemed to know about Mayuka crushing on Aoba and was giving her a "good job getting him back on board" look. I guess if Aoba stays with Hina, there's always Jarl. Or Bizon. Who are we kidding, they'll die it's Sunrise.
>SB Mitsuhide's VA
I knew this guy would be all kinds of crazy the moment he opened his mouth.
Captain will die. That much competence has to be rewarded with death.
Bizon already spoiled he, Hina and the others would die if Aoba made it to the future.
Maybe the compatibility isn't genetic but moreso psychologically related. It seemed to work best when the 2 share the same convictions and mental state. As soon as the emotional psyche is off, they delinked. Aoba and Dio must share the same values, speaking about family to Dio was just the first step. It's a cheesy way of saying that humanity of past, present, and future may have differences like technology but the human spirit, desires and wants transcends time.
My theory that the captain's related to the coupling inventor is even stronger now
In which version? Because Bizon was alive when he was sucked into the time hole.
You sound just like a Sunrise producer.
I hope that the matter of the consequences of a forced decoupling is used again, as it would be lame if it was only mentioned once. I want someone to end up as a vegetable.
Probably won't happen seeing as we only have two people actually doing it.
Like an old Sunrise producer back when they were concerned about futurology.
Soon we'll find out that Dio did something like what Aoba did for his basketball friend.
I don't have the episode with me but I was using Funi subs. He says it when he grabs Hina and she takes off with him, just before he turns on the self-destruct. I think he said she knew what would happen if she took Aoba there, that they would all be doomed or something like that. It's possible that there were already two dimensions when Hina went back in time.
Blonde guy really looks like Dio. Inb4 Dio's adopted
There were lots of vegetables prior to the "flaw" being fixed. You have an entire hospital ward of vegetables to chose from and run free. Dio got a headache. Aoba got a headache, shot near the face, and punched by Dio so it's hard to say what fucked him up the most.
We'll get a vegetable Aoba as compensation of not getting a vegetable Haruto.
>it's hard to say what fucked him up the most
Being an anime character.
Like enlisting into the military because Marcus did so.
Fine, then have the enemy also receive coupling capabilities. Then it will either be a test of pure duo-shounen willpower or there will be a sudden development of the torippuringu system.
Likely actually as it looks like Zogillia will try to imitate the coupling technology with the proto-Valiancer. Maybe this is another reason why the Bizon that tried killing Aoba seemed nuts.
Zogilia would rather use their future coal surplus than commit to using harmful homo technology.
Bizon was using a prototype before being sucked into the hole. Judging by how it was plugged into his body I'd say Zogilia came up with their own technology to explore the human body's limitations in piloting Valiancers. I think they're going for healthy teamwork vs solo genetic enhancement.
I need to start dll the HS rips instead.
Bizon was definitely jacked up on something. Maybe not necessarily coupling tech, but something new cooked up by Zogilian engineers to compete with its power.
AK has nothing of the sort before he hits the self destruct. Shortly after, Bizon says he, Hina and Aoba are going to die, but that was clearly a "I'm taking you with me" sort of deal.
There's some potentially interesting bits though, rewatching episode 1.
>You trust people too fast!
So when they went through the hole, why was Aoba the only one not to disappear?
Bizon blew up and is (probably but not actually probably) kill, what happened to Hina is a mystery
She turned into time dust.
Yeah, I didn't remember it correctly. I don't have the episode but I managed to find the subs and was taking a look just now.
Bizon: I never thought you'd be here, Hina.
Hina: I knew you'd be coming.
Bizon: I see.
Bizon: In that case, do you know what happens after this, too?
Bizon: The three of us will die together!
When I first watched I got the feeling he was talking about Hina knowing what happens after it because she came from the future, but now that you mentioned it, it does look like he was mocking her. "You knew I'd come? Then do you know about this selfdestruct button too?" makes sense.
she was thrown back in time, where she became Aoba's mother
Possibly because there was no Aoba in the future, but there was a Hina and Bizon. Two of the same can't co-exist in the same timeline. It's one theory anyway. The other is that Aoba died at some point or that Hina and Bizon died.
He is definitely talking about the present
Well, we have no idea what exactly to Hina.
Aoba randomly arrived in the cockpit of a totally different mech. He appeared in exactly the right place and time he needed to. Maybe Hina "disappeared" in the same exact way he did.
I'm going to go with this one. I'd say it's more likely that the future they went to isn't the one that the Hina we first saw came from, so this future is a result of Aoba vanishing and not discovering time shenanigans then sending Hina back. The Aoba of this universe became a missing person years ago.
Forgot to add another theory. The Captain is a wizard and made it all happen. That "toothbrush" was actually his magical wand.
Which makes my previous point moot, although Bizon sort of dies during the time travel. So right now there's two future dimensions, the one without the time travelers Bizon and Hina and the one with them.
This whole thing reminds me of Future Trunks and his shitty future.
I suppose that the time warp could have also saved Hina and Bizon from the self-destruct because it sent them back to some point where they still exist in the future.
You're not far from to truth.
There's no mention of a "watchman" in the Funi version. Glad to have rewatched this too.
smooth move Aoba
I don't get it.
The AK version has Hina saying something "so this is what the watchman meant" I think it's when the time hole opens up while she's fighting Bizon.
I vaguely remember something about a watchman once, but didn't see anything rewatching AK. I think that might have been from those subs for the pre-air.
fuck I see it.
Whelp not gonna be able to look at that again without laughing. Thanks anon you piece of shit
When I watch the first ep on Daisuki Hina refer to it as the singularity
Sorry, you are right. It was the pre-air subs not AK.
It's a swan. Just ask Tarjim, he was doing art appreciation in the middle of battle last episode.
Cygnus means swan
I think I found what you're talking about, it's in Watakushi's V1 release.
Bizon: You're going to die with Watase Aoba and me!
Hina: This is...
Hina: the watchmaker's.
Bizon: You're going to die with Watase Aoba and me!
Hina: This is...
Hina: spacetime singularity point.
Bizon: You're going to die, along with Watase Aoba, and me!
Hina: This is...
Hina: The singularity...
I can't access Funi's script.
I know, not sure that Zogilia knew it was named Cygnus though as they had no data on it. Tarjim of all people comments that it looks like a swan and makes a face. He's becoming master of the obvious like Q-vier "it's a hot idea."
Good thread buddies
BC threads have been consistently great
Did everybody go to bed?
Not much more to talk about. It's a good show, but it's also fairly predictable, so there's not real TWISTS to discuss or anticipate.
I'm just practicing coupling with my right hand. We're making great progress and are having a lot of character growth.
Well I've been waiting for some Dio focus (because for a lead character, he's really barely been in the show at all) so I'm eager for the next episode. As well as more Zogillia pilot development and focus, too. I guess no big twists, but you never know...
At least not yet anyways. They're probably bringing out the development at a fair pace.
I'm hoping there will be scans of the manga just released. BC doesn't have any twists right now, but the time travel and character setup should be enjoyable and hopefully continue to be well done. It's already a more cohesive show to me than Valvrave or Nobunaga, not trying to make comparisons but BC seems like it knows where it wants to go to begin with and hopefully won't get lost on the way there. Perhaps since it's a new director and not getting a lot of attention because it's just trying out something different it will be okay, no meddling for reasons by executives.
Daioh Dengeki (the magazine it's published in) does seem to get scanned so don't worry about that
I wonder if Dio realizes people around him, like twintails, because before Aoba convinced him to try coupling again she was trying to talk to him but they've never interacted on-screen. He seems focused on being military, which sort of makes sense given his background. His father must be upset he ran off to fight in a war for (revenge maybe? against Alfried) instead of doing whatever his family does (be loaded enough to have own ship). It's sort of like he's trying really hard to focus on obeying the military way of doing things maybe because it's saying well this was my choice. It's probably why Aoba pisses him of so much, he's a civilian doing the same thing. Of course, we'll have to see what happens next episode for more background on him.
That's a really nice interpretation and makes sense with what we know so far.
He might be after revenge if Zogilla crippled his sister.
I get the feeling Dio is more of a supporting character to the protagonist than a deuteragonist or tritagonist so I'm not expecting him to get as much focus as Aoba. This is clearly Aoba's story, Dio's there to support him on his way as opposed to having equal weight on the main plotline.
>BC seems like it knows where it wants to go to begin with
I know you're talking about it in general but the whole "pilots have to be on good terms to couple successfully" thing after they did it just fine when they were strangers and Aoba only worrying about his old friends/family so late are making me worry a little about how much they planned ahead.
Mayuka is cute and I'm liking Bizon. It's frustrating to think that they're both going to get shafted for the sake of Aoba x Hina.
Why Aoba is stuck to this Hina when the best girl is right there?
>Why didn't he make a visit to the old folks home to see if any of his classmates were still around?
Old folks can't play basketball, so they'd be useless friends.
Yeah, I understand what you mean. Not sure if they couldn't couple because they were on bad terms or just because Dio wasn't quite there. He was piloting more recklessly, not listening to what instructions were as far as not going too far etc. Of course he has reason to be shaken up, he's upset Lee was hurt, the forced decoupling from last time might have had an effect, and it's dealing with family so naturally emotions are involved. As far as the Aoba family part, Aoba has been pretty Hina focused it's true and family was just brought up today which it is a bit late. I suppose that Aoba was focused on Hina because well, she's the reason he's in this mess and the key back to the past. But last episode, Hina was an "enemy" so perhaps now he's starting to doubt her and then begins thinking about his life in the past, wanting to see his home, look up his sister. If Hina is an enemy, the reality that he's unable to go home sinks in, perhaps he thought it would be fine ad long as I find Hina. I think he was also reminded of family or maybe relationships with others when he saw Elvira grabbing Lee's hand. Of course he felt guilty about Lee being injured too that's part of it.
That's an interesting point of view. Dio probably acknowledges her presence and value but I doubt he "notices" her. I think another reason why he clashes with Aoba is because Dio as a member of a rich family and military must be very used to discipline, follow the rules, being polite, knowing your place, etc. He always shuts up when he realizes he's going over the line with his superiors and he's never rude when addressing others, not even Aoba. He's trying to fit in the military as a good and respectable soldier and not as a rich kid who made it to a good rank because he had influence. Then Aoba goes around calling his name casually, disobeying rules and doing whatever he feels it's right as opposed to what others think it's right, regardless of how it affects his surroundings. He's the polar opposite of Dio, the only thing they have in common is their recklessness when pressured.
>Commander-kun cold as fuck.
Military commander commanding military operator to stand by for contingency operation.
This anime is great.
Which buddy would you couple?
HanaKana of course.
I don't have buddies to couple with.
>"Dio is waiting"
>Dio doesn't even know who the hell Aoba is, let alone know who Hina is, confusing the hell out of Aoba
Maybe she could have worded it a little better?
Well shit was kind of going down and they were a bit pinched for time, it is understandable she isn't super eloquent around the guy she clearly loves when shit is blowing up and she is probably about to die
I guess she only saw them after they became non-tsundere for each other.
I'm inclined to believe Lee was what made Aoba start to realize the mess he's in and to take his actions more seriously. If he pilots, it will affect them. If he doesn't pilot, it will also affect them. If he stops breathing to talk to Hina, it will definitely affect them. His answer to the commander when he asked him what he'd do if he faced Hina was interesting, if it were two episodes ago he'd say he'd go to her without hesitation. This has opened some interesting routes for the plot to follow, I'm a bit curious to see what they'll do with it.
Since Sunrise outsource security is still shit even after VVV,i'm gonna tell you Buddy Complex will be 12x2 like VVV
> He always shuts up when he realizes he's going over the line with his superiors and he's never rude when addressing others, not even Aoba.
I was really surprised when he did this after Captain made his decision, even though he was so angry
>series ends with Aoba killing Hina
Military discipline, in my military organization?
No, he has to shout his opinions and have outbursts to his superior officers, that's how it works
Wait, what's this about outsource security
It's hilarious considering how military and full of procedure the Captain is. Do their staff meetings have alcohol and donuts?
I chuckled when Aoba was staring at her hairpin and thinking "he wasn't waiting at all godamn it"
I'll couple with you. I'll be your buddy all the way.
This show is really starting to remind me of Rahxephon now. In a shitty Chinese knock off kind of way.
Yep, and his showing the hairpin to Dio. Hey, know this chick, she has black long hair, wears this cat clip, name's Hina and came from the future. It was like he was asking if they slept with the same chick. No wonder Dio was embarassed.
"Hina knows Dio! Therefore Dio probably knows Hina!"
It totally makes sense if you're not a time traveler.
Is this about the Chinese streaming site that posted already it's split cour?
Are you gonna propose to me?
I think the word is "proposition".
"Dio will eventually be waiting for you because Captain."
So it's a shitty Chinese knockoff of a shitty Chinese Knockoff of Space Runaway Ideon.
I can time you if you want.
>The fact that this show isn't more popular is a sign that 95% of those watching anime have irredeemably shit taste
maybe if they didn't have a such a generic premise about 2 boys in a war and actually said about the boy and girl and time-travelling peeps would give a fuck
>Series is too short, she's only getting deathflags
they can squeeze it in like around ep 9 or so
>two cliches rather than just one!
That would not have convinced me.
"The military actually seems to behave like a military." Now that is some revolutionary shit right there.
>Pre-orders on Amazon where there is no exclusive content.
what about the other stores? they're tanking as well, huh?
Sunrise should throw in the towel and consider tackling girl idols piloting mechas again
Don't kid yourself. Everything is a cliche nowadays. How you work with those cliches is what matters.
>Aoba's sister marries a Weis
>Changes last name, can't find her in database
>Dio's father is Aoba's sisters son
>Dio is Aoba's grand nephew
So who was that chick in the wheelchair? God damnit I wish I could go through a time vortex where buddy complex was already complete.
why can't China girl, blonde girl, and glasses girl pilots be in the series?!!!
That's absolutely true. Execution is what matters. What I'm saying is that there's no real way to predict good execution from the series summary, not even if you add "... and they time travel!" to the summary.
>is an original story based on the mobage.
why can't the anime be about that?
Dio: I joined this war because of my crippled sister and protecting people.
Aoba: I joined this war because a hot girl told me to get in her pink robot.
Aoba ftw, he's rather likable for an MC.
Or Mecha Musume like Busou Shinki. It was Gundam that started that whole subculture. They were also pretty late on the Gunpla as a show concept too.
>oh shit these valiances man they are getting way too strong being able to teleport and shit
>better add some arbitrary rule about them having to accept eachother
>oh no they don't accept eachother!
>*one line of dialog later*
>all those mayuka death flags
just when i was starting to like her too...
He's fighting a war to get some pussy. That's alpha as fuck.
This episode reminded me of a few scenes from EVA. The stairs, Dio's father Gendo 2.0 and the MC doing the "dun' wanna pilot again pls comfort me so I change my opinion" trope. The crippled imouto added some CG flavour on it. Long story short, is there anything left to rip off in this series? I mean it's enjoyable but damn those mechs are dull as fuck.
>it's good to be young
I never read a summary or synopsis before, I like to go completely unprepared.
That fucking guy.
I love what he brings to this show.
Weinberg, but you get the idea.
Coupling isn't that much different from Tran-Am from Gundam 00. Actually even more limited with the whole syncing two pilots.
I agree, the new mech style is super bland. The glory days of over-detailed mech beauty of the 80's and 90's is gone.
Yeah same here. Usually I'll skim for certain directors or animation companies who have pleasantly surprised me in the past, but I've been surprised so many times that it's usually best to just use the 3 episode rule.
Best characters always use that line. See: valvrave
He actually wanted to snipe the MC because he never won a single one on one B ball
seriously, why aren't there more female pilots?
are the producers that much sexist pricks they they could do a variety instead of the boring 2 guy thing?
He's manipulative as fuck and keeps his cool. Best character so far.
Well its somewhat believable. Dio didn't know it was his family on board for the first coupling attempt, although its still confusing because its implying hes willing to forget his past emotions to save someone, I'm nearly positive Dio will still hate aoba after this, so how the fug does coupling work then??
>The glory days of over-detailed mech beauty of the 80's and 90's is gone.
>Mecha looked like blocky toys in technicolor
Let's not wear those nostalgia goggles too tight.
>seriously, why aren't there more female pilots?
Because they're emotional and tend to betray Zogilia.
Hardly a winning formula barring a few exceptions.
Time travel and actually the dull mechs themselves. There are no moon battles or in space battles yet or likely. There's no pretend neutral country and for once the bad guys aren't Nazis. It's got Complex bars.
I'd rather ask how the fuck do you link your emotions with someone and why does it allow a mech to teleport and shit
Whats wrong with a little bromance? Hina is the obvious winner, how could a man couple with a female if its not the winning girl?
That's supposed to be fast movement, not deportation.
One would hope not.
because only Tomino can pull that kind of stunt nicely in Sunrise
>Established around 1995, it is also known as the "Moe branch" for producing several anime series with cute girls as protagonists. Notable works include My-HiME, My-Otome, Idolmaster: Xenoglossia, The Girl Who Leapt Through Space, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Accel World and Love Live!.
Are you sure the bad guys aren't Nazis? They even have the typical salute and shit,
I have this stinking feeling that the general conflict is going to be nothing more than a backdrop for all the major characters to develop and any other form of world building will be relegated to the manga. The usual Sunrise shenanigans.
That would be a EVOL ripoff if they could couple with a girl.
Xenoglossia and Sora Kake both made by Studio 8 who are doing this.
Expect many loose ends.
I love Sunrise mecha shows, but this is just plain boring and going nowhere. Still no real hook or reason to watch to, still slow exposition without real "start" of the story, characters dont really interest.
Reminds me of how boring Xenoglosia was, despite all the potential quirks. Maybe because the same studio 8 does it... thought thats not argument since their other original shows like Mai Hime or Girl Who Leapt Through Space were actually fun.
Is that related to a sinking feeling?
Is this single cour?
>the new mech style is super bland
Valiancers look like the lovechild of a Flag and an Aries. You have some shit taste friend.
They are China-Russia-Iran-Syria. Their "Slava Zogilia" salute is Russian. This is progress for Sunrise. They've moved on from WW2 to the Cold War.
Actually, their Chinese. Tibet if you wanna be the most specific, which is hilarious. But it is very clear Zogilla absorbed russia, Russia didn't start out as Zog
I think he's posting from his iphone.
Everyone knows federation is best faction. Crossbone vanguard under Cecily is fine too.
>dio and aoba eventually becoming bros
>H I N A
>time portal probably going to open up again at some point causing MC kun to make a very difficult decision
whats not to love
Feddie scum pls go. You'll never understand my ideals.
Shame we won't ever see named Chinese or Koreans in Zogilia lest they incur the wrath of their Chinese overlords.
If Osama Bin Laden tossed a Navy Seal an eraser in the middle of class, he'd be flustered too.
Very true but their current absorbed regime is pretty Cold War setup. The current battlegrounds are Japan and Europe (eastern part so far). Bizon is the name of a Russian gun. The Tibet part is hilarious, it's like the Dalai Lama hid some necrophibium whatever in mountains and chaos happened.
So why is MC fighting on side of villians?
When he`ll finaly switch sides and join Zoglia?
So is it confirmed you can only travel one way through time? If not, why did Hina #1 die?
>80 years in the future meaning
>Uncle and nephew are at least 80 years apart in age
Is anyone actually putting any thought into this theory?
You're killing me.
Bizon, go to bed.
sorry mate, can't hear you over all this Gundarium alloy
Coupling is a secret way of securing the border and deporting illegals.
Seriously, you're killing me.
Poor little Bizzy.
Godamn it, you're paying for my funeral.
Absorbed or they allied, I think they said it was allied. I forget the name of "Russia" whatever it was called on the map originally.
They're kamitsuki, obviously.
Simple and straight story with good execution and likable characters is a formula of success. If Love Live teaches Studio 8 anything, that would be it.
It's Sunrise being "subtle" that bad Zogilia isn't not-China.
Aoba-Dio blood relationship theory is starting to turn out as bad as who is mini-elf.
Meanwhile in DHM
Mobage manga from Maou March
More mobage stuff
I'm really glad this thread got to be so big
>learns that forced decoupling leads to mental breakdown
>instead of thinking about the other pilot who he may just have caused brain damage to, he just thinks "she cares about me!"
What a dick.
Anime manga from Daioh March
Typo, it's Maoh
Good grief Aoba, no wonder Dio doesn't want to couple with you.
I like Aoba because he is so brash but I hate that his MUH HINA attitude.
And then you have the KanaHana moeblob who's only purpose is to lose.
I'm waiting till Aoba notices the damage to Dio.
He can't notice because Dio punched him. They are pretty even.
In all fairness Bizon comes across as muh Hina too.
Me too, it feels pretty comfy in here.
I like Hanazawa but I want Mayuka to lose.
>wanting Hina to win
Yeah, that was weird.
Dio punched him and said he almost got Lee killed. He never said anything about the forced decoupling. Maybe he's forgotten already.
Dio just isn't as self-centered as Aoba.
One of the wingmen straight up mentions forced decoupling around Aoba before he finds out from Elvira and also he was clearly clutching his head in front of Aoba.
>Not wanting Hina to win
Funny you post Aoba since Hina is the reason he is alive.
Hina has a nice couple of Zogilias.
>Maybe he's forgotten already.
It's the brain damage.
>not wanting Dio to win
Dio is too MUH IMOUTO for homolust right now. Aoba needs to save his imouto from death or something to get the Dio flag.
Inb4 imouto falls in love with Aoba and it pisses Dio off more.
Please no. Big brothers should love big brothers and little sisters should love little sisters.
Good night, thread.
