Clannad vs Air vs Kanon (anime adaptations)
(in b4 gaijin 4koma)
Kanon 2006 > Air > Clannad
I liked Kanon, mostly for Mai's arc.
KEYS, on my /a/?
I will have to agree.
I liked Kanon 2006 the best probably, but I still really like the other two. I don't see how they're going to resolve Clannad in just three episodes.
I only watched Clannad so far so I'm biased.
Kanon was comedic early on, but when it got serious later, it didn't pull off tragedy as well as Air did. Never seen Clannad, maybe I ought to get on that.
None, they were all ruined by KyoAni, the only good one was the 2002 Kanon adaptation that had nothing to do with KyoAni.
Air and Kanon.
Probably because after Air and Kanon, KEY's GET READY TO BAAAAW tactic doesn't work on me anymore.
Clannad is good, but suffers from being Pure, Undiluted Key. Like, after Kanon, which was good, but in part trainwreck (WAY TOO YOUNG CHARACTERS!!!) it's hard to take a show/vn with the same concepts at face value and expect an equal reaction.
Had Kanon never been, and Clannad landed at some 35-40 episodes, fully fleshing out several of the butchered arcs, with a fulfilling end of choice, then shit would have been Awesome.
I have watched AIR over eleven times now, and it's still just as good. AIR is quite possibly one of my favourite shows, EVER.
Are you sure?
Why did filename make me lol?
This some Akagi?
Clannad > Air > Kanon
Kanon and Air have too much nonsensical magical bullshit to keep me on them.
And the imaginary world isn't.
Fuko arc was all MAGIC
Eternal Fighter Zero needs an update with teh Clannads.
It's far from being as important as all the magical bullshit in Kanon or Air though.
It really didn't affects the storyline at all until After Story. They could have just made it a purgatory where the alternate Tomoya could have gathered up the orbs.
What I don't get is that you can bring back a ghost with one but can only avoid death with all of them.
Good things from KEY:
AIR-Last episode of second arc
Kanon-TheReveal (since I watched it unspoilered)
Clannad-The Wedding Scene
Clannad-If you find this suitcase
Misuzu (AIR TV-version, platonic or bust)
Haruka (AIR, fantastic character development)
Nayuki (Kanon. Normal, yet lovely.)
Tomoyo (Clannad, the strongest girl.)
Kotomi (Clannad, perhaps fanboyism from my side, but I can't resist her.)
the Sunoharas (Clannad, fuck yeah Sunoharas).
Fuuko's route didn't really focus on the magic unlike the routes in Kanon or Air.
Wait till the After Story.
That's when the magik stuff happens. Being Kyoto Animation, I can assure you this will happen.
Fun fact: 403 Forbiddena made a Kanon medley, and it's awesome.
Especially Sunohara. He's the best friend ever.
No it's not a focus in the After Story either, only a plot device to bring the True ending. The After Story is actually really grounded in reality and that's what one of the thing that makes it far more touching that anything in Kanon.
AIR was just perfect - maybe a bit rushed in some places and the plot was at first a bit hard to understand, but the end gave me a gigantic BAAAAWWning, which will get even more tragic when you finnaly understand the whole TIME PARADOX and LOL CROW shit...
Air TV was a failure. Even the movie did a better job.
I don't see why they have Moon, but no CLANNAD.
Clannad is the better of the three.
AIR did a good job in the fact that it was only twelve episodes, and effectively wrapped up all the girls' arc. I personally see Yukito as the better protagonist Yuuchi and Tomoya.
Clannad is pretty much failing it right now since they rushed through half the arcs and completely took out others. Outside of Nayuki's arc, Kanon was good in following the routes.
With episode 20 I have to give it to Clannad, finally a Key heroine I like.
Not like they could have done anything else with Clannad, Kyou and Tomoyo routes simply can't be adapted.
>>Outside of Nayuki's arc, Kanon was good in following the routes.
And that is why Kanon failed.
Well, I'm happy that I dropped this shit.
delicious is delicious
The best thing about Clannad isnt the story, its about the interaction between the main girls(Kotomi route for example). Which Kanon and Air both lacked.
Air fucking sucked.
Kanon 2006 was a better anime adaption, as it actually adapted all the arcs somewhat faithfully.
Clannad anime has been half awesome and half shit. For awesome see kotomi arc and the last few episodes. For shit see fuko arc and the first few after kotomi.
WHERE IS USHIO? She barely appeared in the movie dammit. Ushio arc>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Anything in Kanon or Air.
Fuuko arc is shit? Were you raised in a concentration camp or something? Goddamn!
FUKO'S ARC WAS THE RETARD ARC EVER.
But Fuuko is number 1 in Japan ;_;
It was dumb because I cannot sympathise with kids with downs syndrome.
She was just masking the horrible pain...
You must have had a really hard time watching Kanon and Air then, I sympathize.
>Most of the rest, plot and characters, is made of crap, moé and forced emotion
Fuck you, Akio and Sanae are win.
Nah, Fuuko's really quite retarded. Even more than her Air and Kanon counterparts. Heck, she was still quite retarded in the After Story, Ninja Fuuko's existance is a proof that.
I did. But I got through them. It's kind of annoying when Clannad has non-retarded other characters, but the first (WAY TOO LONG) arc focuses on the retardblob.
Makoto and Ayu are as retarded as her, don't delude yourself. Misuzu too and Mai is borderline.
Clannad will be the best if it'll have gay end.
> Mai is borderline.
>FUKO'S ARC WAS THE RETARD ARC EVER.
>WAS THE RETARD ARC EVER.
No Anonymous, you are the retard arc.
Fuuko's lasted too long. They could have cut 2 episodes from it and life would have been swell.
Think of it as an introductory chapter for most characters.
Fuuko had 5 episodes, same thing for Kotomi. Compare it to Makoto in Kanon who had 7 episodes.
Clannad > Air > Kanon
If you'll say that Fuuko's arc lasted 9 eps, I'm gonna laugh. It lasted 5 eps, like Kotomi's
well, it took 9 eps to finally move on to the other characters.
Here. But I have to agree that the best BGMs were in Air.
The first four or five episodes were pretty much a mixed bag of every route. Even Yukine got in there.
The whole dango vs starfish talk was imaginated by Tomoya in the VN. And that was the song he tought for the starfish.
