The animation may be top-notch in this, but my god why did people say this was the best Gundam has to offer? The story was terrible, and featured some of the worst characters ever.
Earth Fed were fucking retarded, Quess and Katz Jr... I mean Hathaway... god fucking dammit.
Nobody said that
>The story was terrible, and featured some of the worst characters ever.
Gonna need a dissertation for that doctor
People actually told you it was the best Gundam? Ahahaha.
>but my god why did people say this was the best Gundam has to offer?
I have literally never seen someone say that.
General consensus is that Zeta is the best gundam.
BUT NOT MY OPINION.
Quess and Hathaway were indeed terrible, but at least they were only around for that one movie (though there is still that novel where Hathaway starts a rebellion, I guess). I still hold that Zeta's shit-tier characters like Katz and Reccoa were worse, because you were exposed to those characters for dozens of episodes.
Char drops a nuke-powered asteroid on Earth, and they know a 2nd one would cause a nuclear winter. What do they do a week later? Sell Char a 2nd nuke-powered asteroid. Pants-on-head-retarded.
Then you have Quess who is 15, but acts 5. Who bitches out Chan about Amuro, despite never meeting Chan before, and never even talking to Amuro to that point. Who is subsequently persuaded to be a soldier and subscribe to Char's newsletter with like 20 seconds of encouragement.
Then you have Hathaway, who is willing to apparently risk dying over some girl he's known for 3 days and doesn't even like him. Oh, and then the sociopath murders Amuro's GF over an enemy combatant that had killed many of their pilots.
Ending with green newtype pixie dust asspull saving Earth miraculously out of nowhere. And defecting Zeon suits helping for no reason?
