Born of the Boobs.
what is this
Aw shiet cmon what
I hope I get this in a prerelease pack
literally how new
Why couldn't they just make it the most recent version? It's not like shes bad. Also, MtG thread?
>Also, MtG thread?
Only if you play better than /tg/
but mtg art never escapes the art box
I WISH GR DEVOTION WAS BETTER THAN IT IS
FUCK MONO BLUE
FUCK MONO BLACK
I'M LITERALLY NEVER GOING TO PLAY STANDARD ONCE BOTG COMES OUT
DON'T TRY ME NIGGER I ALREADY OWN 3 GOYFS
Would be nice if Wizard release a anime-art themed set.
Not tournament legal, just something for fun like the first two Un-sets.
i started playing mtg this week
what should i run for white weenie from the theros set?
i've been looking at 2014 core but i don't really see shit that supports the heroic ability
some kid gave me two of these after i said i liked white cards
That doesn't really capture Elspeth to me
I tried to forced R/W Heroic in a Theros Draft once and ended up with 4 chimeras and 4 dragons mantle and 4 Setsuan Battle-priests. The only person I beat was the seven year old.
That Trojan Horse that's named something else.
There's a manga, so you'll have to settle.
akroan horse? why when i could just use elspeth's +1?
Wow, please forgive me my good chap. Hadn't the slightest that poor grammar was not tolerated on your GeoCities page.
Which color you gonna pick at pre release /a/?
At first I was thinking Red but Blue might just be better.

Your post lacked both.
there is just something so absolutely perfect with that art style
kendrick lamar got robbed
luv u /a/
Anime is gay
Stop being an insufferable asshat. You shouldn't even be asking this question here.
x4 Soldier of the Pantheon
x4 Boros Elite
x4 Daring Skyjek
x4 Prescient Captain
x4 Brave the Elements
x4 Boros Charm
x3 Banisher Priest/Chained to Rocks
x3 Spear of Heliod
x3 Frontline Medic
x3 Boros Reckoner
x4 Sacred Foundry
x4 Temple of Triumph
Now go to FNM and play creatures and turn them sideways.
>there will never be an anime about oldwalker doing oldwalker things like collapsing artificial planes
Zendikar limited was fun. Deal with it.
>Blue has the best 4 girls
Help I've almost forgotten what cards that aren't foil look like. I am glad to see standard get stirred up a bit with Born though, even though I'll miss having a tier-1 deck (who am I kidding this will still be up there for sure.)
I posted my Weiss Schwarz cards I use for Master of Waves tokens in a thread earlier today.
Why does a foil cloudfin raptor cost $6?
Green, because I like dudes and like playing with dudes. Big dudes.
I'm gay for Garruk, Caller of Beasts. The amount of times I got to slam a Worldspine Wurm onto the field and basked in my opponent's confusion is absolutely disgusting.
Thanks! I did go to FNM. My first game was against a seventh grader.
Very informative, that kid.
Later got a Nyela from a booster and tossed it his way, since he was so helpful.
What's funny is how badly Mono-U splashing black for Thought Sieze, Pack Rat and Ultimate Price sodomizes you.
White all the way.
Why is Chandra so moe?
Although i can definitely see the elevens seeing her as a Lina Inverse rip off.
I usually just count on winning by being a better player than most people, the current standard metagame doesn't have full blowout matchups where one deck simply can't beat another, so spending more time practicing and learning to sequence properly can get around little 'tech' ideas to try to win complicated matchups.
I continue to make money by playing this deck which is more than most people can say, and tells me that I'm at least doing something right.
Banlist changes today guys, hopefully the Wild Nacatl promos I bought won't go to waste.
so they don't even play the game, it's just an ordinary action manga? It's just like that shitty duel masters revival the us got, they didn't play the game there either and summoned though dance
I keep seeing this. Why? No way this is official art or anything, I just assumed it was some artist's mod of an Elspeth.
SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED
WS > MtG
Why is there no good online arena for magic. I wouldn't be playing blizzards shitty game if MTG had a good one.
I'd like to eject my steam in Izzet's vents if you know what I mean.
That's how I play, so many people are awful at this game.
I just tried that deck out last FNM because blue needs to change after it gets solid nothing from the expansion. I went 2-1 and last round was paired against the girl magic player with her boyfriend's deck which was Mono-U.
It might have been the easiest match of magic I've played. Her boyfriend did that hover-and-pretend-you're-not-helping-her thing and tried to convince me that I was almost dead on board if she drew X card I had a gainsay and an ultimate price in hand with 4 lands untapped the entire game
Because Wizards a shitty company and can't make anything involving computers work. Luckily they outsourced the development for the new MTGO client so we might get something playable eventually.
This is the deck I've brought to my local GPT, Open, and PTQ. I've been grinding standard a lot this season and feel really close to a big win (for me).
x4 Elvish Mystic
x4 Voyaging Satyr
x4 Burning-Tree Emissary
x4 Sylvan Caryatid
x2 Scavenging Ooze
x4 Domri Rade
x3 Polukranos, the World Eater
x2 Nylea, God of the Hunt
x2 Xenagos, the Reveler
x2 Arbor Colossus
x4 Garruk, Caller of Beasts
x1 Worldspine Wurm
x1 Rogue's Passage
x3 Nyxthos, Shrine to Nyx
x4 Stomping Ground
x4 Temple of Abandon
This may or may not be my exact MB, but it's pretty close.
The deck is fun, but is hardly a T1 deck. If your opponent's deck looks like >>101000324's then expect to get your shit stomped game 1 and to do a lot of sideboarding.
Mono Black is also really rough as well. Everything else can be handled if you know what the fuck you're up against and how to deal with it. Practice helps, especially when you need to make the most out of your Xenegos + Nykthos + Voyaging Satyr ramp, since squeezing out an extra mana or two could mean the difference of slamming a Garruk into Worldspine Wurm after a Verdict or being short a mana and getting your only out Thoughtsiezed away.
He said "good" online arena.
>Mono Black is also really rough as well.
Mono Black is a very skill intensive deck which basically means if you're not in a PTQ or higher, it's soft as fuck.
Born of the Gods is a very mediocre pack. And by "mediocre" I mean Dragon's Maze's level of yuck.
I'm solely going to the pre-release because of a precommitment to go with my friends and the opportunity to make money by selling the, inevitably, overvalued Mythics and Rares.
Are you serious?
All you do is ramp out with devotion cars, thoughtseize their removal and remove their threats. Then play Gary into auto win. Also pack rat + mutavault makes things laughably easy against bad players.
>Elspeth with a spear
What happened to the fabulous sword? magic is killing its own characters.
there aren't really any big tricks or blowouts to the monoblue mirror (even if someone is splashing some other color for something), post board its all about battling gainsays and domestications and whoever ends up hitting with thassa faster or controlling more than 1 master of waves just wins. its pretty obvious when you're in a winning or losing position.
I did have a conversation with a cute girl who was actually very knowledgeable about modern MeliraPod after I narrowly missed top-8 in the final swiss round of a 203 entrant PTQ last weekend, I think that's the first time I've met a girl who legitimately knew how to play this game through her own interest rather than the normal story of boyfriend got her to play skilless ditz we've all seen.
>There's an xbox game
>it's an RTS
>Duel of the Plainswalkers
>forced to use fixed decks
And if MTG Online is really that bad? I hear it hasn't bothered to upgrade it's interface, it's adamn shame really
>tfw voice of resurgence costs $30 because no one opens Dragon's Maze packs. ;_;
>there aren't really any big tricks or blowouts to the monoblue mirror
Overloaded Cyclonic Rift is a pretty huge fucking blowout, man. As in whoever overloaded it will most likely win.
I quit standard because its boring shit now.
I know 50% of last years decks was lolthragtusk and loljund, but at least there were fun variations of lolthragtusk and loljund
I jewed down a Living End deck to $162(sans fetches) so I'll be rolling with that for a while.
I'd much rather keep playing GTC block limited but muh rotation means there is nothing but Theros which is a fucking snoozefest of a limited format with no interesting cards except lel money mythics.
You have to pay for digital cards or win enough to not have to pay for digital cards
Found your problem. Modern or go home. Too bad legacy is such a high entry barrier cost now.
I guess blowout was the wrong word there, I mean its really hard to turn a hopeless situation around, the match is very snowballish, especially post-sideboard.
EDH master race
Standard formats are for plebs
Honestly, I have no idea. I just kind of assumed it was because I played like 4 matches with Mono-U (supposedly a bad matchup) and never lost a game.
To me that says the deck requires some skill. I haven't played to much since graduating.
Game 1 was over after a turn 1 Thoughtsieze the MoW and Game 2 I went Raptor into Pack Rat and never played another spell on my turn. It was pretty one-sided- and all I wanted to do was see how well the deck could function if you gave it the ability to thoughtsieze mono black as kind of a pre-BOTG trial run
Did you not read the post man?
>Not playing Hearthstone
I almost bought Voice of Resurgence to play that GBW deck from last standard (pre-M14) that used Varolz (can't remember the name of the deck, I know Brad Nelson loved it though). Then a friend showed me Vanguard and all the shit I play in that is only around the low $200 spectrum while still staying relevant.
I still play Limited all the time though. Limited's my favorite format and I'm glad my locals doesn't do gay shit like re-drafts.
You can get cards just by winning enough?
When Yu Gi oh online was around you just had to pay for duels, you got cards after every duel win or not, but then they required paying for cards, and I ditched the game
You get digital booster packs for draft wins
>or win enough to not have to pay for digital cards
This isn't difficult so long as you git gud.
You could also just play Pauper and work on consistently winning those tournaments. Pauper decks are ridiculously cheap so you'll gain tix quickly by winning unless you're shit.
Well you also must remember it is the most brainless deck so the worst players will simply sleeve it up and play it incorrectly even though following the simple flowchart i described is all they need to do. Usually they can't even do that.
But as far as skill intensive decks go, its not even close to even other recent standard decks like Aristocrats, Reanimator or burn.
I haven't played magic in years but I was looking through some of the newer cards a while ago and saw they had made white versions of goblin lackey and siege gang commander. can you use those to make a good soldier deck now?
Guess not. Good for you then, Modern is the way to go for sure.
>not learning to play every format well to be a true master of Magic
I play Standard, Limited, Modern, Legacy, and EDH and thoroughly enjoy the vast game experience and knowledge I get from all of them.
>white version of Goblin Lackey
I'm gonna need to see a picture of this.
captcha: ovidnie gideon
Why is Gideon V2 from Gatecrash so fucking shit?
Nigger I am not made of money.
Don't worry, China is making decent proxies of MtG cards now.
I don't know about that.
Real niggas walk into a game store with a nothing but a limited entry fee and a spiked water bottle and depart with a promo and packs.
Yes, and, last I checked, you have to buy like 120 dollars of them in bulk, of specific cards, most of which I don't want.
If I could buy 4s of the cards I want then I'd be interested.
Spears > Swords. Deal with it.
Not for use in tournaments which is what I want to play in.
I really don't want to risk fucking myself over by using fake cards in a tournament
Fucking that's what the deck was called with Varolz, Junk Aristocrats! I knew it had a name like that.
I was going to build it if VoR wasn't $50 at the time. I had the entire rest of the deck but said fuck it.
/tg/ was working on that, last I checked. Getting in touch with the guy that runs the proxy making to make proxies of cards everyone generally agrees on. Don't know how that' going.
Boring repetitive aggro-only money-wasting devalued shit format.
Rock-paper-scissors ridden format that still requires getting lots of fetch lands to start competing with any deck 2 colors or above.
High entry level barrier format that 99% of magic players cannot even touch let alone dream about.
Casual slow broken but fun format.
Limited is the only legit format, however recent sets pigeonhole the limited format into creature midrange decks with little room for control or combo.
Fuck New World Order, ruined both constructed and limited formats to appease casuals.
Only if your play group is whiny about certain combos/generals.
Why is Obzedat so much fucking better than of Orzhova?
Obzedat's art is dogshit compared to Orzhova's art.
>Fuck New World Order, ruined both constructed and limited formats to appease casuals.
Commander did. Like 90% of all garbage "Stupid broken in limited, unplayable in constructed" rares are made for EDH.
Its like you don't even like games, why do you wake up in the morning?
Because combat no longer goes on the stack anymore so Orzhova got pushed out as a good card.
>Blowing all that money on limited when you could cube.
If by recent you mean just Core Sets and Theros then yes, but GTC and Innistrad blocks had a ton of non aggro archetypes you could draft or build in sealed. Lets just try to forget about AVR though.
Also >>101001965 is right, when Wizards started printing cards aimed at commander things went to shit.
What I meant to imply with my post is that I'm angry that Obzedat is so much better because it's art is so bad compared to the other.
Sorry for the confusion.
Constructed is fantastic, if you don't suck extremely bad at limited you can easily afford to play standard and gradually trade up into modern, and you aren't actually good at the game unless you can win at every format.
I know /tg/ wants to stick it to "hurr pay2win" but at a higher level than FNM pay2win doesn't apply because anyone serious enough would've put the money into the cards anyway. And most of those people are playing on the same level of expenses.
The proxies mean absolutely nothing to a person that actually wants to go to larger tournaments. They're only good for casual and FNM level and even the chinaman said he only really wants to make them for casual play which is why he probably won't fix the glaring mistakes
Its not going to affect the game by much, unless an absolute moron fucks all the decent players over by trying to play with them at a GP
>Implying cube isn't a limited format
Do you even know the definition of "Limited Format"? And I only spend money on prereleases because I like the excitement of new sets still, even if they are shit. I just did a common's draft last week with a friend's cube.
I only play Standard because my friends do and I want a deck on a level playing field with them. I spend next to no money on Standard and just build my deck through trades.
All I want them for in the first place is EDH. Spending something like $600 on just a mana base is unappealing for a casual format.
I could also finally start my IRL cube with them.
People who complain about Pay2Win are just using good cards with high demand (and therefore high price) as an excuse for them to feel like they're underappreciated deck artists who make 2-2 master pieces out of their Phenax mill deck.
>thread quickly devolves into /tg/ argument fest
I'm surprised this thread hasn't been deleted yet.
I really want to cube but I don't know anyone that runs one.
He was saying why waste money on Limited entry fees when you could play limited cube for free.
Yeah, this is what they're good for, playing in a casual setting with casual friends, but fucking hell I just know some fucking moron will waltz into a GP with those and ruin everything
Except Pay2Win is a very real thing. Hell, take it a step farther and to even manage in any format outside of casual and it's Pay2Play without getting your ass kicked first round. Yes, there are "budget" options like Mono Red but those are blatantly inferior to the decks that cost upwards of five or six hundred dollars.
Its pay2play like any competitive card game would be. And there are plenty of people that do put forward the expenses to make their deck happen.
Of course, not everyone needs 4 Goyfs to have a good time, hell I jewed a $500 deck down to only $162 sans the fetches. Its all about shopping smart and trading smart as well.
>I jewed a $500 deck down to only $162 sans the fetches
That really isn't saying much when the fetches are the bulk of the cost for the deck.
No not really, there's also the shocklands and the big costing creature cards.
There's also shipping costs added into that, which I just searched for really cheap or free shipping, I literally saved about $20 bucks by doing that.
That's where trading smart comes in, just learn to trade up (you kind of have to be a jerk about it sometimes)
I won a bunch of DGR drafts, had like 20 extra shocklands I wasn't using. Found some kids with Snapcaster Mages they weren't using anymore because they only play Standard, so I offloaded 15 shocklands for 8 snapcaster mages, then I traded 4 snapcasters into 3 fetchlands, then dug up 4 of my old player reward promo Cryptic Commands and bam, I'm playing a control deck in Modern by simply playing well for a month in DGR limited.
Buying the best deck in the format does not mean that you just face roll everyone else. You still need to be able to pilot the deck well and have knowledge of the format.
Is there a entry level barrier for most of constructed Magic? Yes, but it's pretty comparable to most games. Plus limited is a great way to start building a collection and learn fundamentals of the game.
In the end the investment is what ever the game is worth to you, for some it's more then others.
Collecting a draft set cube for each set has become my new goal in playing Magic. I always pick up one box of a new set anyway, so picking up the singles to fill in what I'm missing and then have unlimited drafts for a set seems more efficient to me than spending tons of cash keeping up with Standard chase rares.
I wish /tg/ was this good at mtg.
I think this is my new favourite image.
>Bring my old Unburial rites deck to play with the casuals at my college
Oh boy it sure will be fun to make people cry over turn 3 angel of serenity and Thragtusk bounce shenanigans
/tg/ has magic fans, not magic players.
>not Turn 3 Griselbrand
I'm not even gonna try to give a fuck.
kill yourself, nobody should have to be subjected to that ever again
>not turn 2 hasted Emrakul for 15
Get on my level, pleb.
>not Turn 1
Look at this scrub. I bet he didn't even hardcast it for the extra turn too.
I hope they ban Goryo's Vengeance just for you degenerates.
Yeah, Reanimator sure is taking Modern by storm.
Not many people play it, and its not even good. I just don't like it or people who play those decks.
>banned and restricted list TBA next week instead.
Goddammit, the only reason they would do this is because it might effect perceived valuations of BNG cards so less people would go to the prerelease. Truly they are the master jews.
>going to a BNG prere
Why? Zero interesting cards in that set.
Because I like playing limited and I'm looking for a better playgroup, no other reason. Its not like I'm looking to gnab anything but value from the packs.
the perceived value of BNG is pretty much at rock bottom excluding like 3 cards which only appear to be standard playable at best.
To make money off of the people that think there's value in BNG.
The better way to do this is to buy low on cards that are obviously under valued.
Like uh...not spending $25 going to a prerelease.
I also can't play cards by just fucking around with the market.
You act as if $25 is shit to anyone.
>You act as if $25 is shit to anyone.
The margin of profit is pretty small in mtg
>cookiecutter mono-blue devotion.
all that "skill"
Not really? Maybe if you buy/trade only singles on speculative purposes.
I was getting throw-in Tidebinder Mages in trades to the point that I had 50 of them lying around solely because people didn't want them and I saw it as a decent, low risk Legacy spec.
Theros comes around, Mono-U makes a grand showing and the card shoots up to $5 each within a night. I sold almost all of my stock within that night, I'd say around 40 Tidebinders. That's $200 for doing literally nothing but sitting on a card and waiting.
Same with Nightveil Specter. I bought them at $1 each when Devotion was revealed. Now they're around $10 each.
The margin of profit isn't small if you know what you're doing. Being lucky and a general amount of hype certainly doesn't hurt.
Its a stock deck but I play it well, just because I use a deck that's performing well doesn't mean I can only play2win. I put up my share of top 8's at local PTQ/IQs and I win enough to get all those foils for no cost but entry fees. You're probably just mad your weird brew green decks cant beat tidebinder mage.
You act like its an accomplishment to net deck and play creatures in order of their mana cost.
There is a lot more to the deck than that, my meta is polluted with blue/white control which requires completely different lines of play and tempo management. You clearly understand a lot about being a scrub and very little about winning, I'm guessing it comes from firsthand experience.
Are you one of those people that thinks netdecking is some dastardly sin?
Kek, them buzzwords. Leaving a mana or two up on turn for the counter is not some severe different line of play or reliant on match up knowledge. Considering all decks these days are online anyone can preform that well. You seem upset to the fact that playing around supreme verdict and coutnerinh sphinx's revelation is not a complicated task.
No, its perfectly logical to netdeck, but one shouldn't brag about being above average in piloting a net deck, literally anyone with a bit of time can do that.
I'm thorougly convinced you have never won a sanctioned round of magic as well as reading comprehension. My image was showing off my cool foils I've collected by winning at both constructed and limited, not to show off my meta mastery or to pretend I was being innovative. At the end of the day I've got a bonkers deck which would not only beat anything you could produce handedly, but also in awesome foil and full-art style.
>my meta is polluted with blue/white control which requires completely different lines of play and tempo management
The optimal way to play is to just play one dude at a time and leave up counter spells for the 5-6 spells they have that can actually win them the game. You keep letting them one for one you with a dude on the board and then you win.
Not that hard.
What is abundantly clear is that you taking other people's work in analyzing a card game then making simple decisions has done wonders for your ego. I'm glad you could find a productive outlet for your self-esteem even if it only involves cardboard pictures.
You couldn't be more obviously mad that I have shiny things and you don't. My ego is big because its absorbed the hopes and dreams of every scrub like you I've squashed in my lengthy and successful Magic career. Please have fun pretending whatever vapid exercises you perform in your life are any more meaningful than a card game.
I want to play a game, /a/
And that game's name is EDH
Post your favorite commander, /a/
Mimeoplasm need not apply
Mine is Shirei, shizo's caretaker
Holy shit anon I'm fucking dying my sides are in orbit. Either you are a master in writing convincing storylines or your existence is ridiculously funny. Thanks for brightening my day.
All day every day.
Azami is my Magic Waifu, that deck is built for winning the rare but lucrative competitive EDH pods event that might be hosted around here but its not much fun to play against.
My Progenitus deck changed from just a 5-color big mana multicolored good stuff theme to a superfriends list with the motif of 'I will play 1 of every single planeswalker'. Its been a lot of fun and is surprisingly powerful despite the lack of synnergy.
There are a lot of people that think infinite combos in EDH are unfair. Even more people that think me taking every win condition out of their deck with Bitter Ordeal or Tooth and Nailing Kiki-Jiki + Zealous Conscripts isn't fun or fair.
Fuck them. Rain Kobolds from the heavens.
Thanks I've been practicing making my technical writing style a little more pronounced, I'm also a damn good magic player which is where the confidence comes from. I hope you can grow to understand some day.
Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker
Thoughtpicker witch + creatures to die
Myr Retriever + Mindslaver
I was hoping this was some elaborate ruse but now its all to hilarious that there really is some neckbeard out there who consciously makes an effort to brag about his card game skills on the internet.
Bruna Beatdown for life
I was making a conscious effort to make you even more mad, since you had the audacity to post such a hilariously salty reaction to an image on an anonymous imageboard. You could have just kept quiet and let me stay in my lonely slump but instead you've provided me with entertainment and a great semi-intellectual linguistic sparring match.
your reaction image folder also amuses me, so I've been farming it throughout.
Whats even funnier is you thought this was some sort of contest. Truly, I've spoken to people who exhibit such niggardly behavior in petty internet bragging be it about banging broads, rock climbing, or competitive shooting, but for someone to act like that in regards to MTG baffles me. Do you not understand that even if you brewed a deck, won a PTQ, and then won an entire pro-tour society would view you about the same as a nerdy professional poker player?
Oh well I hope you get there one day.
>society would view you
The only words I needed to read, I hope society enjoys and approves of your live, I frankly dont give a shit.
>society would view
Just wanted to jump into you two's conversation and say that it's hilarious that we're talking about how society would view things on /a/ - anime and manga.
Is there a userscript that will pop up with the card if you hover over the name of it?
Chuu pls go
played 5 color control with door to nothingness last standard, was fun as shit.
Cool, you saved my card.
I actually saved that one as well.
Wait, wrong version. We're in /a/, not /west/.
>that stupidly specific casting cost
>"I win"-tier effect
Broke, broke, broke. Fucking hell, everyone in /a/ sucks dick at making cards.
This specific card would never be seriously considered because of the stupidly strong effect but very hard and specific to use mana cost. This would be an automatic inclusion into any deck that could cheat this into play, and with that effect that gives it protection against removal, if you get this thing out via reanimate or similar, it's basically game right there.
>implying that's even broken
It's shit is what it is.
>protection from all colors
Shit man wtf are you doing
I don't make them, I just save them.
what the fuck does X mana do here?
why do these people even?
On a second read, it is pretty shit. I didn't notice that you could only play the first effect during your turn. It's still demanding removal though, since it can destroy like half of your opponent's lands the next turn, and in high level play that's basically game.
This card is okay. Good blocker, little else. His second effect is hard to gauge, since you have to build around it to use it. He dies to proper removal though, so I would likely not try to base the deck around him. 6/10, feels strong to use but isn't too game changing to include him in decks that aren't in his element.
Touhou guy here with the last two sets to my block finished. You can tell me if I am shit at making cards if you want to.
Here's the first again. http://www.mediafire.com/download/y3iul3jdnbudf5v/Welcome+to+Gensokyo.mse-set
Here's the second. http://www.mediafire.com/download/gqcbmvd11qcuc8d/Triad+of+Faith.mse-set
Here's the third. http://www.mediafire.com/download/h9a4qgccudfh0oz/Falling+to+Dust.mse-set
I'm making a few Madoka ones.
Did I do good?
I might up the cost a bit.
Best Madoka one right here.
Oh my god my sides just killed my cat.
Just because he is my commander and i find my deck fun to play.
Oh wait, you're right...
Do you even Japanese MtG?
Would this be considered OP?
When will we start seeing m/a/gic cards with the new frame?
lol no, it's shit.
Costs at least 6 to cast(for a fucking 1/1), has no immediate board impact, gets hit by many forms of removal. Activated ability is also pointless cheese.
Also don't use weird counters like +2/+1. It should probably also be colorless. Could make it a colorless enchantment.
Its overcosted by a lot. Its ability to reset the game is also basically unusable.
From a formatting perspective it needs 0/0 where its power/toughness should be and colorless mana comes before colored in ability costs.
>don't use weird counters like +2/+1
To be fair, there have been "weird" counters before.
>It's overcosted by a lot
It also took Madoka 12 episodes to become god.
Go back to 1997 and make a sooljim card then.
Yes and they're awful. So many headaches.
The issue with this is that the players are going to be stuck after the forth creature exile because when one player does the fifth exile, the other player will do the sixth and get all the cards.
>first sentence missing punctuation
>"Precious" a sub type
>"enchant creature" but not an enchantment
>"magical" a creature type
>"a Witch type"
>"onto the field"
I did that once, and then I realized that a small amount of characters could be planeswalkers.
its difficult to come up with abilities that fit the character, the character's colors, aren't already done before and are remotely playable/not OP yet still in MTG context
That's definitely true. Nevertheless, it's fun to do.
Born of the Gods poll
wizards does print op planeswalkers though
karn, veil and jtms in particular
agaji ven is pretty good too
This specific generator is weird with the text placement.
you have a very unique idea of what 'op' means. Any mythic card that is very powerful is not 'op', its just a format-defining card. Mind Sculptor was clearly a mistake, and Veil might border on a little too abusive, but Karn and Vengeant are balanced very well right along the lines of Wildspeaker and Beleren.
Use Magic Set Editor anon.
But I'm on loonix ;__;
This might help. http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/node/1918
But I can't even download the Linux one.
They stopped working on it back in 2011 because it wouldn't work.
I didn't realize that. I don't really pay attention to loonix applications. Sorry mang.
How is this card white?
Weird mana cost you got there.
Pretty much Cultivate on steroids for red decks.
Here you go.
That's way too good for three mana and puts stress on the color pie.
Indeed, there's a difference between people who like fun and people who like winning
One of the less friendly m/a/gic threads we've had in recent times
Nobody really is alive in this thread right now. They're probably all on cockatrice.
Akagi is crusader of justice
That's the point. It's a control card.
Fan art never captures how much of a huge bitch Neasa is.
Nissa is a qt in LCiE but a bitch otherwise.
I can dump it all if you really want me to. There's about 70 including the bonus ones so far.
I passed out for a while, but I'm gonna start dumping now.
4 is here.
Inb4 JOU is all chase rares.
I have a feeling I shouldn't find it funny.
9 is here.
>mtg thread on /a/
I know I chuckled.
Azorius > Boros > Selesnya > Golgari > Simic > Rakdos > Izzet > Orzhov > Dimir
Inb4 Sorin can't be targeted by swords to plowshares.
We used to have quite a few /a/ related custom card threads a few months back.
Why save them if they're shit?
She's too Emeracool for Serra Angel.
Fucking libraries, how do they work?
I thought of this too.
Our image dumping though.
So I can't find 26 for some reason, and I don't know why. :(
25 is here.
I dunno, I just felt like mentioning that the only posts right now are images. I'm tired and bored.
Spoiler alert. He doesn't turn into Remi.
For some reason Japan loves Scaled Wurm.
Maybe a bit too much.
>Your qt giant gf will never protect you from wurm tokens with stone slabs strapped to her arms because her card is jank
I can't find 32 and 33 too. I'm a fucking shitter.
Still don't know what the deal is with Nissa and eating slugs.
If only Darksteel Axe was like that.
God I can't find 36, I'm a fucking shit. I'm never dumping anything ever again in my whole life.
Oh god the hawk, the hawk
10/10 this is great
Now that's planeswalking.
i've seen these spoilers already and someone said something about a new frame but i just now noticed it, that the lower part is black now and the background dosnt reach to the bottom. damn that dosnt look better than the old frames.
My sides shot into orbit when I saw this for the first time.
How recent do these go up to? 2012? 2013?
More missing pages again. You shouldn't be surprised at this point in time.
Anyone got that K-ON doujin where Azusa finds a bunch of really old cards like Black Lotus in Yui's parents house, about to be thrown into the trash, then she teaches the other K-ONs how to play MTG?
This guy already posted 55
The most recent one was July 27th 2013. He doesn't update it often anymore.
That's about it from me. The best of what I've gathered from Pixiv. The rest is just shitty sketches and shittier porn.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any overlap between "people who draw quality mtg fanart" and "People who draw mtg porn".
Chase rares the sequel the prequel the trilogy.
No but consider me interested
That's it for the normal ones sans the ones I don't have. Time to dump the bonus stuff next.
So do Eldrazi.
I wish she was a 2/3 for 3 with the same effect. She would be much less useless, albeit somewhat useless still.
This is why red is the best color. Izzet is the best guild though.
born of the gods is such a FUCKING BAD SET
I respect your opinion but blue is the best color.
You're right about Izzet though
You're welcome mang.
Did you fucking see the King of Oreos?
I'm making a five-color tribute deck as soon as it releases.
Sweet endings are sweet.
And that wraps up Lotus Cobra is evil until Sixten makes more.
I can shamelessly bring this up again r-r-right?
yes, and his bitch ass dies to doom blade
A lot of things die to doom blade. Not many of them cast for fuck all and do so much.
New proprietary font (Look at the F in Fire)
Black border is thinner and rounded on the inside
Rare cards have a holo oval on the bottom
Black bottom with white text is meant for OCR compatibility to reduce sorting issues
[Card Number]/[Total Cards in Set] [Rarity]
[Set Name] - [Language] [Artist]
symbol between set name and language is a star for promo cards
Reading the collector number was fucking eye straining on red cards. I welcome the new frames.
This new set is so shit.
That green promo tho.
I don't play Magic but, isn't wall of fire a gen 1 card? Most card games phase out the early gen cards eventually because the newer ones are just that much better.
Only good cards in Born of the Boobs I mean GODS is Brimaz and probably Kiora too. A lot of everything else is crap. Well, at least this isn't Homelands--oh wait.
Oh I love that.
Wall of Fire has been around forever, yeah, but it's been reprinted a lot because it's managed to remain pretty good, especially in Limited formats. It's been changed down to common from uncommon since M13, though, and yes this is probably because of power creep
Yeah, Wall of Fire is as old as Magic itself. There are plenty of cards in the core set and recent sets that come from the first few sets. Good commons never die.
Magic doesn't have power creep. Or at least, it handles it very well. The best cards in the game are in fact from the first set ever released.
Creatures have however intentionally been made much stronger than they used to be in an attempt to rebalance the power disparity between instant/sorceries and creatures.
The standard format (the most wildly played, the rotating format that only uses cards from the past two years) is currently in the midst of an intentional powering down. Born of the Gods is a very low power level set.
I find it funny how a Wall of Swords dies to a single Doom Blade. I mean, it's supposed to be a WALL of SWORDS and it crumbles to a single BLADE.
Say that to my Nessian Wilds Ravager.
>Nessian Wilds Ravager
Not a very strong card, I'm sorry. Your opponent will always pick what is worse for you. Also no trample. Vanilla creatures aren't impressive, even if they're big.
Ruric Punisher, makes everyone cry.
This store don't exist anymore, but I know the guy with Azumanga tokens, and completely blinged out anime decks is here.
I know you are.
It's still technically "opponent sacrifices a creature" and a 6/6 for six.
>The rest is just shitty sketches and shittier porn.
I trust you've seen "those" pieces of fanart of Mirri. What the fuck is wrong with that guy?
>Selesnya and Boros not the best
There is nothing for me in the entire set aside from Unravel the Aether.
The new planeswalker looks horrible because two loyalty is garbage and her +1 only stops one thing.
The worst part is it feels like just about everything in the set, especially the creatures, are overcosted by 1. Bestow is a garbage mechanic outside of limited.
Kaalia of the Vast but I'm thinking of switching to Derevi soon.
Bestow is garbage outside limited because enchantments are garbage outside limited. Bestow is probably the best form of creature enchantments there is.
If it means anything at this point, I own four.
Sorry, I was referring to standard.
Building my Innistrad singleton block cube now
Play Commander with me anon
Just look at this card. If you go to the BNG prerelease you can get this card and other great cards like it so you can give something +3/+1 for 5 mana and it isn't even instant.
Every set has shit cards in it.
It's a 3/1 for 3. Should be used only as a creature until very late game.
I'm pretty sure it's a sword that turns into a spear. Both have the same exact design.
PW is better than you think, +1 Tamiyo also stopped only 1 creature, she needed 1 more loyalty thats for sure but she isnt garbage.
This guy gets it, look at it as a creature not as an enchantment if its lategame you can start looking at them as enchantments to get full value, but most of the time just see them as creatures.
Combo these with Raised by Wolves, son.
There is so much Mirri and Ink-eyes furry porn (often together). So much.
