Holy fuck that was an amazing last episode
The moths made that episode. One of each timeline.
>Holy fuck that was an amazing everything
Fixed that for you.
Welcome to 2010.
I love how all the little things tie up, all those moments from the very first episode to the very last all fit up so neatly and perfect, like a perfect circle.
Its doesn't feel so unnatural or forced in anyway or an afterthought tied up to match a loose end, its like the its was wrote backwards and forwards to reach a central conclusion rather than from a origin to end.
I accept that correction, I am quite upset now that I have finished it.
I wish I kept in my backlog even longer, just so that I could brag that I haven't watched it yet and that I can experience it for a first time.
>you will never have an opportunity dangling in front of your eyes
Exactly. It's an above average series at best, most of the way through. But the last episode pulls everything together into an incredible ride.
Did you like the OP ED switch around in the last ep?
I could only think of the comment that /a/ would make at the time it was airing.
>someone tuning in now would thinking the episode is starting and fall into despair when the episode ends as soon as it seemly starts.
Nonetheless I enjoyed the switch, it somehow made the ED much more fresher than I had before experienced it as.
I wonder If I should watch more Masaaki Yuasa anime.
I have heard a lot about Kaiba but I have never thought to try it out much like with Tatami Glaxey
Most of the times the answer IS there.
Picture university, maybe your whole life you had a glimpse of what you could do or should do, but chose on a rush based on opinions of other people.
Fucking Tatami Galaxies
Inb4, moefags calling it pretentious.
As a first year at university doing virtually nothing with my life, this series is relevant, but a bit of a hard pill to swallow. At first I figured the message was to go head on into a club or a major and just pick a direction, but now I see there's more to it than that.
Are you avoiding good stuff on purpose or something?
It's the hardest pill you'll have in your life.
Fucking Tatami Galaxies made me realise that.
I realize that needing to identify with a particular club or group is exactly what the show warns against, now.
Yup this anime literally changed my life while I was a freshman in college.
In what ways?
I should give these a try too: Gankutsuou, Mononoke, Shigofumi,
Princess Tutu, Millennium Actress
I have no idea why I do, I tend to store and keep ones that suspect to be interesting and good.
Holy fuck, I hope you're really new to anime.
Otherwise you've been wasting your time.
Literally my favorite anime. There really is something about it that speaks to me. Masaaki Yuasa is a pretty good director despite the weird as fuck artstyle.
Good to know he'll write an episode of Space Dandy, think of the possibilites!
7 years watch anime.
I think I've watched a bunch of good stuff too, Kara no Kyoukai, Mushishi, Ah my goddess, You're Under Arrest, Yokahama Kaidashi Kikou, Eden of East, Tamayura, Aria, Nijuu mensou no Musume (The Daughter of Twenty Faces), Soredemo, Tenchi Muyou, Arakawa under the bridge, Magical Pokan, Utena, Stars Chronicles, Gunbuster & Diebuster, Spice & Wolf, The girl who lept through time. Haibane Renmei, Eve no Jikan, Kino no Tabi, LOGH, ROD the TV, Serial Experiment Lain, Welcome to the N.H.K
Thats off the top of my head and a little digging around my anime folders, not in any particular order, I am sure there are more I have watched that I have enjoyed a lot, oh I liked Toshokan Shoujo and Toshokan sensou too
Amazing anime, loved everything about it.
Ah so you've watched some good stuff at least.
Still I cannot fathom how you can spend 7 years completely ignoring Yuasa or Satoshi Kon.
Denpa teki na Kanojo and also Otome Youkai Zakuro just remembered those two.
There is also stuff like Sketchbook, Hidamari Sketch and Minami-ke that aren't bad either.
Well I have watched Paranoia Agent, Perfect blue, Paprika.
I don't really think I have watch anything much of Yuuasa to be honest, I probably should.
Watch Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers.
Oh yeah uchuu senkan Yamato was pretty good too. I have also been wondering about Galaxy Express 999
Pretty cool I thought. Glad he finally got Akashi
Was Mind Game any good?
It was 2crazy4me.
>Dandy visits his parallel Dandy
The weirdest shit Yuasa made. Even farther than Kaiba. It took symbolic imagery and metaphors and made them literal
If you want more Tatami Galaxy there are some extra shorts included in the DVDs.
It's fantastic and shares a lot of themes with TTG, but it executes them in a rougher, rawer way.
It's also probably the most experimental anime film I've ever seen.
I absolutely love it.
Oh I didn't know that, I need to find them now
