Ive read Parts 1,2,3 I heard part 5 is the best part but 6 is shit. Also part 7 is a loose retelling of Part 1. Can I just skip part 6 and move on to the reboot if it's not worth it?
4 is the best part.
It's not a loose retelling either, it's completely different. Read them all.
>Listening to other people's opinions.
Read the entirety of the manga. The only relevant opinion about a part's quality is yours and yours alone.
>I heard part 5 is the best
>but 6 is shit
>part 7 is a loose retelling of Part 1
You heard wrong. Still, don't skip parts.
Part 5 is usually the least liked around here, so I don't know where you got that.
Part 6 starts slow but it gets bretty gud in later volumes that ending tough it gives me a feeling so complicated part 4 is best part
no, the worst part is 1. It's only popular due to the anime
4 is the best. 5 is meh. 6 starts of poor and gits gud. 7 is as good as 4 but for different reasons. 8 is a mindfuck.
Every single piece of information you have been given is completely wrong.
Who has been saying this shit? Its four and for the bandwagon seven
All parts are decent though some do have lulls in quality. Part five and seven for example have some boring bits but are ultimately balls to the wall in other areas.
>Who has been saying this shit?
Ah I should have know, terrible taste. I swear with JoJo at least they get it all backwards.
Pick one and only one.
Yeah 1 is really quite boring, and art's not even good. Anime made it fun but don't bother with the manga version.
don't listen to this guy you have to read them all
No matter which is better than the other, the worst part of Jojo is still better than any other manga you might want to read. Just read it all.
>JoJo Part 9
>takes place hundreds of years in the future in SBR timeline
>Humanity has began colonizing space, however these are mostly just Air-Bubble type colonies
>One planet is discovered that suggests it may be habitable by humans
>Speedwagon Foundation sends an expedition to this planet to test if it is
>On the crew is SBRverse's versions of Jotaro Kujo and Giorno Giovanna
>Upon landing they send out the initial search part
>Jotaro and Giorno discover a cave
>Inside the cave is a straight rock which exposes them to strange energy
>Later they both discover the exposure to the rock has given them a stand
>Jotaro gets Space Oddity, which allows him to irradiate things, as well as open up tiny wormholes to gaze through to other universes
>Giorno gets Black Hole Sun, which allows him to turn nearby light sources into miniature Black Holes
What if I want to read Berserk?
All parts are good m8, except part 1 which is somewhat not fun. You can watch the anime for it, that's pretty fun. Watch the anime in any case, but you have to read the rest without skipping anything.
Opinions on JoJo Parts vary quite a lot from person to person. The overall favorite on /a/ is Part 7 for example, but it's one of the least favorites in Japan. I don't think 7 is that good either, I also liked 6.
As much as I like JoJo, this is simply not true. Like, not at all.
>reading shit manga
Who would be the enemy?
This is pretty gud, but SBR's Jotaro and Giorno already exist at the end of Part 6.
>The crew begins to notice strange activity on the planet, and it detect signs of living beings
>They investigate these signs of life and discover strange alien beings with their own stands.
>Commence tonnes of Stand battles in Space
>Giorno strays too far from the group one day
>Gets ambushed and captured
>The Aliens take him to their leader
>HOLY SHIT IT'S KARS
>Who has mutated into an even more powerful being due to being exposed with the new environment of the planet
>Forces Giorno to wear a newly made Stone Mask
>Turns Giorno into an even more powerful Vampire
>More fights ensue between Giorno and Jotaro as well a the rest of the crew, who also got stands due to the planet
>Jotaro encounters Kars, who shows off his stand, Dark Side of the Moon
>Allows him to concentrate pure waves of light at small targets, as well as manipulate gravity a-la C-Moon.
>He can also steal stands by sucking blood
>Jotaro and his men get their ass kicked so they retreat
>JoJo Part 9
>takes place hundreds of years in the future in SBR timeline
I want it all and I want it now.
>Dark Side of The Moon Stand
I want this so badly.
>Jotaro needs to figure out who the fuck this guy is
>He goes back to the cave where he first got his stand
>More exposure seems to do nothing
>He trips and pierces his head through the rock
>His stand evolves the secondary stand, Major Tom
>Allows him to gaze into any point in History
>Finds out Kars arrived through a worm hole from another Universe
>Sets off to finally destroy Cars
>But before that he encounters Giorno and they fight again
>Jotaro gets defeat and taken to Kars
>Kars reveals his plan is too steal Jotaros stand and use the power of the stones to upgrade it until he can use it to go between universes at will and become a multiverse conqueror
Please keep going.
>Giorno sees his friend about to have his life sucked out by Kars
>Gets a change of heart
>With WRRRRYYYYYYYY he attacks Kars
>They fight for a bit while Jotaro regains his strength
>Eventually Giorno is killed but not before he through a rock at Jotaro, which goes through his chest and upgrades Space Oddity
>Without thinking Jotaro pulls ALL THE JOJO's into his universe and time
>ALL OF THEM
>Jonathan, Johnny, Joseph ect.
>Even most of the supporting characters
>Immediately Universe 1 Joseph sees cars, and uses the Joestar family secret technique
>Most of them follow as well
>Jotaro explains to them later about Kars and his plan
>They all agree the only way to destroy him would be to send him back into space
>Before that, Jotaro induces a stand on all those without Stands (meaning All Part 1 and 2 characters have Stands)(including Stroheim
>They bait him onto the ship and blast off
>However, he can now survive in space due to Araki
>Dozens of JoJo characters fights Kars outside the ship
>They all seem to be at a match for Kars, until however, Joseph tries a ripple strike on Kars, and it works
>Due to the centuries of exposure to a different Sun, Kars is no longer immune to ripple overdrives
>All the Hamon characters channel their strongest overdrives
>Blast Kars into space and into the direction of a Sun
>Jotaro sends all the characters back to their home universes, then he and his crew begin the return journey back to home base.
>"That was quite... Bizarre."
tfw no jolyne neice
my feelings are of complication
>Part 9 is set in 2020
>Jorge Joestar (not George II) living in America
>shit happens I don't want to write a bunch of plot
>big bad guy's stand is Get Back
>sends JoJo to the original universe and undos Made in Heaven
>he's also sent back in time to 1800s England
>has a happy marriage there and gets used to life in the time period
>manga ends with him naming his son Jonathan
>part 9 is the last part
If he came from a time with Stands then how the fuck could he not just use it in Part 1 to beat the Christ out of Dio when he became Vampire?
Joskue babysitting loli Jolyne is probably the cutest thing to come out of JoJo's fanbase
>josuke's hair not in a pompadour
It's always like that, wet or not
He didn't want to kill his adopted son.
Even if he's about to kill you and your other son?
I'm sure Josuke would love that, but not even Crazy D can do that
Japan has shit tier, nostalgia tier taste. Most of these faggots grew up when part 5 was serialized, then couldn't stomach the changes with 6.
No stands required. It's like that naturally, and always will be.
All he could manage was to save Jonathan, and knowing his failure entrusts his hopes in his son to right his wrongs.
That's too big of an asspull even for Araki.
Part 5 is the worst part
Part 6 is anything but shit
Part 7 is similar only in names
Dont skip anything
Part 5 has awesome side characters and nothing else
Part 6 in my opinion starts off awesome, then slowly get weirder and weirder.
If anything skip 5, if you decide not to skip it don't let it bring your hopes down for the series at all
He can't skip parts. If he does then we'll have another person always asking how King Crimson works.
It just works
6 and 7 are the best parts
Do Araki even know how King Crimson works?
>Hamon will never appear again
>Pillar Men will never be mentioned again
Can someone tell me if there is any good scanlations for part 3 even if its not finished
It's funny because that Futurama episode really does show pretty much exactly how King Crimson works.
>Pillar Men never mentioned again
>Joseph doesn't even go HEY JOTARO ONE TIME I FOUGHT A BUNCH OF GAY MAYAN SUPERMEN AND SENT ONE OF THEM INTO SPACE
LIKE, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS BUT I'D BE PRETTY DAMN PROUD OF MYSELF FOR BEATING KARS CONSIDERING HE COULD STILL PROBABLY KICK THE SHIT OUT OF MOST STAND USERS AND WOULD LITERALLY EAT DIO INSTANTLY
Nobody wants to be the guy still talking about what he did when he was 19. Especially since no one gives a fuck about Ripple
WHEN EVERYBODY ELSE HAS BETTER PUNCH GHOSTS THAN YOU YOU SHOULD PROBABLY CLING TO THE ONE AWESOME THING YOU DID
Nigga, you're rich as hell. You've moved on. Besides, most people would think he was exaggerating about just how powerful Kars was.
>implying Joseph didn't use his money to send a probe out to space just to take pictures of Kars and prove his story
Pretty sure he was too busy fucking Suzy or cheating on Suzy for that.
He doesn't have to. He just got the Speedwagon Foundation to do it for him
>Speedwagon Foundation attempts to be useful
They carry on the legacy is Speedwagon well.
The ending of part 6 honestly kinda confused me
Wow, where did you get your shitty info.
and i agree its fucking retarded that they wouldn't mention the pillar men again surely there were more than 4 of them still alive.
1. It's a different timeline and they might not exist in it.
2. Cars' flashback noted that he killed all others of his species.
I just finished part 5 today
It started out so well (in my opinion) but when they got to the Colosseum it just fell apart
God damn it
In 1987, a Japanese delinquent voluntarily entered prison because of a supernatural power he didn't understand. He promptly broke out of a minimum security stockade and set out to Egypt. Today, wanted dead by a century-old vampire, he and his comrades survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... the J-team.
>No Snoop Dogg
Future Cyborg Stroheim would be amazing.
Anybody who skips any parts is a fucking idiot. 7 is not a retelling of one, they have a few parallels in the characters but that's it.
I'm pretty sure OP was screwing around, or he has absolutely retarded sources.
I just realized the other day that Stardust Crusaders is basically the Japanese version of Dracula.
>that file name
You just made my day
Stroheim's stand would be called Erika. It would turn the patriotic feelings of nearby allies into blinding light. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MmdUNbwZlg
You wear wrong, kid.
Part 6 is good.
>Not Iron Man
..Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. How did I not see this before?
>Not War Machine
Both are about a group of people who become very close friends fighting an evil supernatural being that try to kill it by traveling to different countries while protecting a women(Minna, Holly) is gravely in danger from it
No, I get it. I'm just amazed I never saw the similarities befoer
that was all I needed
>mfw I've been reading part 8 and realize Joseph and Suzi Q's love is so strong it persisted into the new universe
Even when he cheated on her
Fuck, that's great.
Think of all the cool tech he'd be loaded with as well. If they can do a torso machinegun in 1930 I can see chest missiles and more.
I'm still not really sure if it's the same for Jonathan and Erina. On one hand Lucy Steel was a Pendelton, but on the other Johnny did marry a girl named Rina
>Joseph and Suzi Q's love is so strong
Dude survived atmospheric re-entry with bare skin just to get to his waifu.
>uses the Joestar family secret technique
Oh god I lost it here.
i heard the elevens loved part 5
Probably because they didn't get a butchered translation
Most of the reason we don't like it is Duwang.
Isn't Duwang part 4 though?
Yeah, but part 5's translations are horrible
I just finished Vento Aureo and I thought it was crap, Giorno was more boring than Jotaro and even though some fights were fucking awesome I thought the whole thing was pretty boring, zombie bucciaratti and rolling stones stand were pretty bad plot elements that felt way too forced
i didnt understand how bruno was able to still be alive "because reasons"
What's the best Stand and why is it C-Moon?
Honestly, I know they're supposed to be the same person and all, but there's really very little similarity between Johnny and Jonathan in terms of personality; I can;t imagine an alt universe Erina falling for him or him falling for her.
Appearance wise? Hell no.
Ability wise, sorta, I like Killer Queen's more
Different guy here, the entire time I theorized that it was because he happened to die in a period that Crimson King deleted time, so he was stuck in some zombie-limbo.
The Rolling Stone thing, while I thought it was a bit clever, also felt tacked on at the end.
If Stardust Crusaders is Japanese Dracula like I stated before then who is Dr Abraham Van Helsing of the Jojo universe?
It had something to do with Rolling Stones, he somehow managed to defy fate and rely on his willpower to stay alive (making his own fate) after Gio revived him..maybe..I really got no idea..
I like C-Moon's appearance: he looks creepy.
And how is manipulating gravity not a cool idea? Although I will admit Killer Queen's ability is pretty cool too.
Didn't realize there was already a JoJo thread, and I started my own. I'mma delete my thread and ask this question here:
So I'm on Episode 7 of JoJo, and so far, I'm not loving it. I like Dio, and think he's cool, and the art is alright, and I don't mind the poses and flamboyant art style, but ripple is the stupidest thing ever, and I can't deal with this "explaining each move I make in a fight while I make it" thing that it has going on. Does it improve significantly or change those habits, or does it stay pretty much the same fore the rest of it?
I personally like Black Sabbath's appearance more.
Manipulating gravity's cool and all, but it ain't got shit on blowing shit up and making bombs out of anything you touch.
>and I can't deal with this "explaining each move I make in a fight while I make it" thing that it has going on
Thats a trope of battle shonen, Im not sure if its still used but in the 80s it was used often and I think DB/Z used it as well, it stays throughout the series because thats how it was written back in the 80s, if Im not mistaken part 2 has less side line narrations but its still there
Ripple is gone after Part 2 except for like a couple references in part 3, which is getting an anime adaptation in Spring.
The explaining your moves gets better, kind of. At least you don't see it AS much in Part 2.
Stick with it at least until part 2 starts (episode 9 IIRC?). It has a new MC, and the fights are a lot more interesting than Part 1.
So I don't particularly mind the "walkthrough of the fight" itself, it's more the fact that the fights move at a snail's pace, due to the fact there are so many lines of dialog.
Also, I stopped watching last night when they made leaves into a hang-glider with biomagnetism. Is there anything else as dumb as that cause I can't handle that crap.
It isn't the last time you'll see something like that.
Not that I understand what the problem is. It's the ripple, they explained how this stuff worked.
>Taking JoJo seriously
Something that Araki does is do insane shit that somehow make sense within the rules of the world he creates, just enjoy the bizarre ride for the ridiculous campy insane bullshit will only intensify
They're pretty much polar opposites in every way, yeah. So I see your point. And if Rina Higashikata is SBR Erina, we still don't know a whole lot about her personality. Probably won't ever really know either
The character achetypes don't make direct translations from Dracula to SC (though some are pretty exact, like Polnareff and Quincey both going down swinging) but the appropriate attributes and shared evenly between the cast. That's probably the reason you didn't pick it up sooner!
If the leaf-glider gets you upset, then I don't know how you're gonna handle all of JoJo's.
It's campy, and in a lot of ways a parody of itself.
But, hey, stick with it, the only thing you can lose is your precious time.
Fuck me, sorry, I forgot that Polnareff survived.
Would you like if DavidPro added some new scenes or hints for the sake of continuity on the Part 3 anime?
>A mysterious man selling some arrows to an old hag
>A young man hearing the wisdom of an abomination
>A wounded teenager saving the lives of a mother and a child
It would blow my mind.
I just want Joseph using Hamon more and REFERENCING THE PILLAR MEN
I want some Pucci.
>A mysterious man selling some arrows to an old hag
I can only see them doing this one, the other 2 could be seen as too forced
What if Jonathan got a Stand?
In my eyes, Star Platinum IS Jonathon reborn to beat DIO.
what if The World was actually jonathan's stand
anyone have the "I could be your father Jotaro" picture?
I love how he looks like young Joseph this way.
There's a theory that The World's true power is use all Joestars abilities. Remembering that Dio used Hermit Purple before.
Dio would be overpowered if he survived to part 6.
Yes, thank you.
Have this in return
i want dio reading a book that explains that if you get a boner from the mona lisa then you are a psycopath
SBR universe isn't the universe from part 6
DIO uses Jonatathan's stand once, it's pretty much the same as Hermit Purple. Originally DIO was going to be able to use every Joestar stand but Araki apparently changed his mind sometime after that scene so it was retconned into being Jonathan's stand that DIO could use due to having his body.
But Stands have nothing to do with bodies, they are spiritual manifestations
>>10100941Yeah. Makes no sense, but it's the official explanation AFAIK
I haven't read the new translations yet, but I hope to god they kept that part mostly the same.
Thats shit. I like to imagine Jonathans stand being like Star Platinum
