Twelve years later, this scene was finally reached. Such a tragedy that the scanlation is on hiatus exactly when the manga reaches its peak.
And here is the scene from chapter 1, released 2002 year.
The interesting bit is that it's completely redrawn.
Shit, come the fuck on Evil Genius.
It's a shame the anime was so terrible, we could get a more consistent scanlation to pick this up.
They should start releasing chapters soon. The problem was that they didn't have a translator, but such was found recently. The gap is just 2 volumes so maybe they can do them relatively fast and finally catch up to the series.
When is volume 20 going to be released, though?
>The interesting bit is that it's completely redrawn.
obviously, tiny design changes and artstyle changes occur over 12 years, also the original was in color and mangaka rarely keep a copy of the lineart version around.
Volume 19 was just released (end of December) so volume 20 - anytime between April and December.
Someone should dump the first volume.
Oh, it was? I thought it was BW for the magazine release. I've never actually read it, just the tankoubon. Or maybe the coloured version was grayscaled. Dunno.
I was also referring to some not so minor differences. Both of the main characters have different designs and I actually couldn't even predict that this scene was incoming, until page 16 of course.

In the magazine releases they usually do color, not in the tankoubon versions. The tankoubon versions 95% of all time only use downscaled grayscale version of the color picture. I don't know about Zetman though.
So what was it that prompted this scene?
Long story short:
Hayami puts the bug on Kouga and turns him into a puppet
Seizou Amagi turns out to be one of the big bad guys
Jin does his best to protect everyone, but Kouga loses his shit and starts to attack him (because of the bug)
A lot of shit happens, but in the end this is what it leads to
12 year long prologue...
