Do you guys buy anime or do you download everything and spend money only on naughty merchandise?
I do buy some manga though.
I buy figurines and BDs as long as it isn't an american publisher, because fuck the jews.
I buy all my Manga and Anime movies. I download my series because they are extremly overpriced here in Germany.
I only buy manga, not really interested in the BD's and merchandises.
>Do you guys buy anime or do you download everything and spend money
Hell fucking no.
If you don't spend money on your anime you are the cancer killing the medium
I'm fine with this medium dying, I'll just find another hobby. What now, faggot?
I do about 75/25 fansubs/English dub box sets.
I don't spend money at all because I'm too NEET for that.
You clearly don't belong in here.
But /v/ support what they like.
However, to humour your question, if I had money, I'd buy, in this order: figs, BDs and untranslated manga.
That's my whole point. You're clearly not from here.
You clearly belong in >>>/v/ as /v/ does not support buying media
Anime is a collector's hobby.
How is supporting what you like, bad?
I recently bought some Japanese editions of manga and light novels.
Last anime I purchased was Ghost in the Shell because it was £1.25
I mostly buy mangas. Onle DVD I had ever bought was trust and betrayal.
I don't watch much animes anymore and the ones I fancy are rarely translated in english, thoug my 2 favorites Tutu and oofuri were and I plane to buy them someday...
You subhuman pieces of shit can get the fuck out and kill yourselves. If you were from /a/ you'd know our stance on buying anime. If you absolutely have to pay for overpriced physical media, at least buy them from the source and don't support crappy distributors.
If you absolutely have to buy some shit, go buy figures to jack off to, dakimakuras, etc.
And that's what I do you fucking melon. Here's my original post>>100978283, how did you make the assumption that I'd buy from distributors? Kill yourself.
Physical collections thread?
O-okay, here I go.
>If you were from /a/ you'd know our stance on buying anime
You seem to be seriously fucking confused and deluded kid
>at least buy them from the source and don't support crappy distributors
Nobody said anything about buying licensed shit
Go lurk a few buyfag threads and get yourself acquainted before you open your mouth again.
I only buy manga. Buying anime offers me nothing.
Good for you then. You're still a retard for paying for overpriced physical media though for anime you already have on your HDD when you could also spend the money on merchandise.
I don't lurk in buyfag threads because I've always considered them cancerous blogging shit. Maybe I should take a look at them in the future to set some faggots straight.
If I see it cheap I lack the self control not to buy it.
I found the complete box set of Texhnolyze at fucking Walmart for under 20. I haven't even put it in a DVD player.
>he thinks his powerlevel means shit and he doesn't even have a sizable collection of BDs of his favorite shows
>to set some faggots straight
I don't, because I'm not a retarded faggot who wastes money on crap he already owns. I'd rather buy another HDD.
>I'm not a retarded faggot who wastes my parent's money on crap he already owns
Gotta choose wisely when you don't have a steady income
I buy mostly manga. Anime only rarely when it is someting really good like Ghost in the Shell movies. I wanted to buy the hell out of Hyouge Mono but US retarded companies hadn't licensed it. Next thing I would definitely buy will be Ping Pong and Kiseijuu (Parasyte) but with my luck (and licensors hatred for good anime) I doubt they will be licensed. Hopefully there will be some subtitles in Japanese release.
You know what's funny? The archive tells me that those two reaction faces are most prominent on /v/.
I told you you don't belong in here and your point of view already gave you away.
Now I got proof. Get out.
The fact that you believe you could discredit someone's argument by claiming he didn't have a steady income proves that you're not from here, but a cancerous normalfag.
I don't buy anime because of the DRM and copy protection that is used on discs. With fansub downloads I get a single file per episode in a neat MKV format, rather than a few weird globs of data I would have to jump through hoops to convert into a widely used video format.
I do, however, by manga, figs, and other merch.
If they sold full seasons at BD resolution for reasonable prices and included the physical extras they currently do, then I would actually buy anime. As it stands, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, and Trigun are the only shows I own.
The current market strategy for selling anime BDs is fucked, and I'm not going further its lifespan.
n-netflix (._. )
Only manga / novels / artbooks and anime DVDs and BDs for me. Usually licensed releases since I don't understand Japanese, but sometimes I buy the Japanese versions.
Could do worst.
Sup french /a/non.
you seem to be better than some other guy which hates those GOLD releases.
>buying anything anime/manga related
Spend that shit on decent food, cracked consoles or your appartment.
I only buy anime if there is some other incentive, like an included limited item. Then my autism prevents me from owning just one volume and I end up buying the rest anyway.
Aren't lentils and rice good enough?
>or your appartment [sic]
But my apartment is fine the way it is
lentils > chickpeas
I will fight you
Not anime or manga discussion. How will it take for the mods to take care of this?
You are so utterly wrong. Falafel and hummus are individually better than any product of lentils, as well as lentils themselves.
>Falafel and hummus
But we're not talking about falafel and hummus. I'm not Jewish enough to be able to afford the extra ingredients to make those.
Alright, even in their pure forms, chickpeas are better. (Or "garbanzo beans" if you want to sound exotic.)
>in their pure forms
Then why did you post them in a soup?
I used to eat chickpeas straight from the can. Shit's delicious.
You can't even eat raw lentils, because they're hard as fuck, right?
It's not healthy to live off just raw chickpeas dood
Okay, here. Chickpeas are still better.
Raw lentils are crunchy and stiff, but not super hard. They're dry and unappetizing, though, unlike glorious chickpeas.
Lies and slander.
I buy a lot of merch, but i have very few DVDs, Blue rays and boxes. Wish i had more, but i have very little disciple with money as it is.
I think I'll get the Cowboy Bebop BD and maybe the Mazinger collection, that will be released this year.
I just burn them and then send 100 dollar checks to Daiz
I'm seeing a lot more ingredients than my lentils and rice.
I'm showing you raw (or perhaps boiled) lentils and chickpeas. Obviously the pale, plump, scrumptious chickpeas are the more appetizing of the two.
>Obviously the plump
I bet you claim to like "healthy" girls, too.
Gross, I can only eat garbanzo in hummus.
My taste in food and my taste in women don't overlap. Except for coffee: as pale as possible and full of milk.
Confirmed for shit taste.
Entirely too often, American releases have purposefully bad quality to discourage Gensokyo from reverse-importing the cheaper release. They're not worth buying, even from a support-the-studio perspective.
The Japanese releases support the studio and are generally high-quality, but don't usually have niceties like English subtitles. If I'm going to shell out $400 for a show, I at least want them to pretend they want my money.
Merch, however, enriches the studios via licensing fees, and nobody's figured out how inflict interlacing and banding upon a nendo yet.
I obtain my anime/manga at the best possible price. Since the price is $0.00 for many movies and series, that is the price I pay for them. If there was truly no other alternative, then I would pay for it, though I'd also make deals with friends to borrow discs. Everyone is well-connected here, and we've set up our own private FTP so that we can get certain files from each other especially if its english movies. That way, only one person needs to get it from "somewhere".
>>Merch, however, enriches the studios via licensing fees
How is this different from anime rights?
Or you could, y'know, buy good-looking figures that are worth owning.
Why not both?
My understanding is that media licensing is generally peanuts or flat-fee, whereas Good Smile Company sends a substantial percentage back to the licencors,
Because nendos look terrible and I really, honestly, can't understand why some people think that they're worth spending money on.
Not him, generally i don't really like nendos, but they do work for some characters.
I also got the Colossal Titan nendo
You don't like them, and therefore can't fathom how other people might? You're not supposed to take my taste > your taste seriously to the point of brain problems.
Little bit of column A, lot of column B.
The only show in recent years I've downloaded was To Love-Ru Darkness but only because the streams for it were censored to shit and Sentai is taking too long to release it.
I usually check out streams like CR and TAN for any shows I may like. If they are any good I'll buy them. Over the 10 years I've been inti anime I've collected a combination of 233 movies, OVA, and series.
Not therefore, because. Truly, I don't see the appeal. It's not that I can see the appeal and it doesn't apply to me, but that I don't get what's good about them at all.
I will occasionally buy anime if:
>it's on my backlog or I really like the show
>it's the complete series/complete box set
I don't seek it out, but if I stumble onto it I grab it. I'm more likely to watch something if I actually own it as opposed to it sitting on my hard drive.
Good for you?
Thanks for that explanation, anon.
That wasn't an explanation. That was me laughing at a retard going ＤＯＥＳ ＮＯＴ ＣＯＭＰＵＴＥ ＷＨＡＴ ＩＳ ＴＨＥ ＭＥＡＮＩＮＧ ＯＦ ＷＨＡＴ ＨＯＯ－ＭＡＮＳ ＣＡＬＬ ＮＥＮ－ＤＯ？
Why did you even respond to my first post with a stupid strawman, then? What's the point if you're not actually going to say anything?
I was making a point about why buying merch is better than buying media. You're the autist who replied with "I don't like your arbitrary example of merch."
So rather than explain why you like nendos, you decided to call someone else names, instead? Is that really the most constructive thing you could have done?
Ｉ ｗａｓ ｍａｋｉｎｇ ａ ｐｏｉｎｔ ａｂｏｕｔ ｗｈｙ ｂｕｙｉｎｇ ｍｅｒｃｈ ｉｓ ｂｅｔｔｅｒ ｔｈａｎ ｂｕｙｉｎｇ ｍｅｄｉａ． I don't care that you're an idiot hung up on my taste > your taste.
