Your drawing skills are shit, Minori, and you should feel bad!
Would they even have been able to do this pre-Catastrophe? I don't think there are any kannagi barriers with a long enough duration to protect you as you sink to the bottom of the Marianas trench.
But Shiro drew that. Pay attention.
Is Minori going to develop to become more like Shirou?
I'm certain there are water-breathing items that can be used and pre-Catastrophe depth pressure wouldn't have been taken into account since it was just a game so there would have been no need.
I was joking. From what we've seen so far of their barriers, they seem to act more like shields or walls, rather than protective bubbles. Even if they did protect someone from the pressure temporarily, the pressure crushing them would likely count as damage, popping the barrier instantly.
I always wondered... Handmade food has taste, you can craft all kinds of things if you do it yourself, you can actively dodge attacks such as Rundelhouse who caught an arrow. You can also inflict pain on others with physical force and people can bleed.
What about fighting? What prevents you from holding a weapon that is not made for your class? What if - no matter your class - you just wear handmade armor and weaponry and fight without using any skills, basically fighting like in the real world? Could you for example cut off someone's hand or head? The possibilities are endless.
She becomes his apprentice.
You break my heart, anon.
What kind of scribe is he? Couldn't even draft up a wanted poster.
So can kannagis create their own condoms?
Can Log Horizon safe this Anime Year?
Not to mention the shitty handwriting.
True, that's surprising. It reall looks like it was drawn in mspaint.
You'd have to cast the spell real precisely, but... you could be real rich in there with that idea.
That Q& A is a little old. http://pastebin.com/VFmAgW27 has 5 more question on it.
How are Holiday events handled? Do many servers have Halloween ghost processions like their RL cultures?
Does Santa give presents to all the Adventurer and Lander children of the world?
Are regional traditions incorporated.
Does the Wild Hunt occur in ET?
Why is there a double pronged penis with three testicles going towards shiroe's mouth on that notepad?
>Could you for example cut off someone's hand or head?
Yes, Shiroe cuts the throat of the mage during Serara rescue.
As I understand, you can use any weapon you want but you don't get any of the bonuses that someone who is the correct class gets from the weapon, it basically becomes an ordinary tool when held like that.
That's his hand
Ready to push his glasses up
There won't be new OP for the anime?
Where are my fellow monks when I need them?
Why would you want to replace Database?
Because I don't like it?
>Summoner and Assassin literally tied
Holy shit hold your butts.
Seriously, could you go a saturday without Database? I don't think so.
I don't really like these class polls since there is not enough info about classes yet.
Also you will never play Elder Tales
There's a wiki, friend.
No need to be aggressive that someone doesn't like your cool "sucker fucker yeah" kind of lyrics.
That's some nicely even pie. Only proves that classes are well though out.
That doesn't help if there is not enough stuff to read. Some classes don't even have skills listed.
>the Summoner class remains a popular choice among solo players
Big surprise there.
I wouldn't call that reaction image aggressive.
Not enough clerics
When has there ever been an abundance of healers in an MMO?
pop potions like everyone else in ET.
Healers are for raids
>This is what people who never played a pre-WoW MMO actually think.
>this is what people who actually bothered to pay attention to the LN actually think.
Fixed for you dumbass.
I bet they spanked her ass for a whole day afterwards
Be glorious Guardian with Body Builder subclass
Shit on assassins daily by shield blocking all their attacks and dazing them with my glorious Muscle Poses
what are you guys doing playing such an edgy class when you could be forming the ultimate Muscle Mythology pose with me and other fabulous gentlemen?
>Not a monk specced for mana drain on hit
this fucker gets it
Not enough Minori last episode.
Daily reminder if Aussie is shit
But what we got
>Dem glowing eyes
> not being a comfy guardian in an impenetrable armor with fuckton of hp
The way I see it, if there's a team that's all monks, guardians and assassins then you can just tank the shit out of everything. Casters get rekt.
Tanky high HP play is for noobs. Glass cannons is where skilled players can truly shine and separate themselves from the average idiots.
Assassins being OP makes them an even better choice.
In a previous thread it was mentioned that the overseas stuff is being left open that other author might take up telling those stories.
Then I had a horrible thought. Fujoshi and word of god supporting any works that arise.
>bashes high def classes as 'noobish'
>touts assassins by saying 'they're op, so that makes them even better'
good ol' Sinner's Logic. have fun being one shot by anything but a support class.
In SEA server, you have Indonesian unique class made by fucking Phillipines corporation. Where's Marmalade put his brain?
>>This is what people who never played a pre-WoW MMO actually think.
I recall quite fondly decimating undead hordes with my RO preist.
>Team of 2 Guardians, 2 Monks and 2 Samurai
>Team of 2 Summoners, 2 Enchanters and 2 Sorcerers
>Team of 2 Clerics, 2 Druids and 2 Shaman
>Team of 2 Swashbucklers, 2 Assassins and 2 Bards
Which team wins?
>no cleric in full armour to support the group
definitely not the last team. jeebuz, the lack of synergy with those picks is painful.
as a guardian player, i personally think team 3 would win by a landslide
The mage team. Despite being resilient, the tank team would have no sustain, the healer team would have no offense, and the weapon-user team would be squishy and have no healing. The mage team, on the other hand, is much more balanced. They have Enchanters to support, Sorcs to DD, and summoners to heal.
I thought it was a given that cleric can stay. Weak healers pls go.
>Team of 2 Guardians, 2 Monks and 2 Samurai
If they manage to come close, this team pretty much wins
>Team of 2 Summoners, 2 Enchanters and 2 Sorcerers
If they can keep their distance, this team wins.
>Team of 2 Clerics, 2 Druids and 2 Shaman
If other classes cannot use pots to replenish their MP, this team can potentially win.
>Team of 2 Swashbucklers, 2 Assassins and 2 Bards
This team can only win if they can successfully kill a player in an instant, if not then it's a 100% guaranteed lost.
Team 1 has the biggest potential to win because of force attack from Guardians. Team 2 has the biggest advantage of all because kite+crowd control spells which will fucking rekt anyone in their sight.
i don't think summoners would be able to heal the other party members, and considering that monks have hyper combos, all team 1 would need to do would be taunt the enchanters with the samurai's, taunt the summoner's minions with the guardians, and let the monks ATATATATATATATATA on the sorcs.
im saying team 3. this should be the obvious choice for anyone that's actually played an MMO before.
If you meet an exact mage team (2 ench, 2 summ, 2 sorc), which one you would kill first. I still stuck between Sorc or Ench first.
>implying I'd ever get hit
>implying assassins can be one shot by anyone but themselves with their average hp rating
Git gud before you lose all your memory.
Went back to playing on my old server because of this anime.
If Summoners get even one tanky Summon with an aggro grab then it's fucking guaranteed that team 2 wins.
>Win any battle
Also what's your issue with the bottom team
>Assassins are straight damage
>Swashbucklers can play off tank/ lower enemy stats
>Bards can support
I mean Swashbucklers aren't even that squishy, they're rated as having medium health
Enchanter, easily. Even if you insta-gib one of the sorcs, they still have one, and two enchanters to root/sleep/otherwise fuck you over while he nukes you. If you take out the enchanters first, the sorcs will be much easier to kill.
You'd wanna take the summoners first, they have potential to heal their comrades and summon potentially dangerous extra enemies for you to fight. Then you deal with Sorcs, Enchies are worthless on their own.
Most of the time Enchanters go for tankish mage and not the glass cannon route, so I don't think that going for Enchanter first is a good idea.
essentially, it comes down to "who can catch who off guard first". any time combat is determined by this situationality, skill never comes into play.
if you sneak up on someone, gratz, you win just because 'lelDEEPS'. if you get caught and hit with anything, your fucked.
skill is not a factor.
also, choosing any class based on it's "OP-ness" is always the sign of a true scrub, for only they rely on a classes overpowered-ness to compensate for their own lack of skill.
>Get tank summon
>guardian draws it away
>samurai draws sorcs away
>monks run train on you
thats reliant on the type of summons the summoners possess. any summonerfag is going to claim that they have 5 legendary dragon-god monsters that they can summon one after another just to win the 'what if' argument.
the op should have clarified. there is not enough information to make an informed decision.
The only taunt that has been shown to work on players is Anchor Howl. I can't think of a single game where threat-based taunting works on players.
The one with the bards. They can put people to sleep and assassin/swashbuckler combos can pick off the enemies one at a time.
>>Win any battle
By being nigh unkillable and whittling down their opponent. However frankly I don't think I've seen any healers in ET being that powerful.
>>implying I'd ever get hit
>get snared, rooted, stunned, slept, or mezzed
>can't do shit, die from someone sneezing in your general direction
Your only advantage is attacking first, if you can't kill someone before you get CC'd, you're fucked. It can take just one CC to ruin a glass cannon's asshole.
which enough sustain, you win simply by attrition.
if you've played any kind of mmo, or traditional rpg, you'd know this.
Switch them around. Samurai draws summons, guardian draws sorcs.
Please, Enchanters have far better CCs than Bards, and the Sorcs could put out just as much damage, if not more, from range, than the sins/swashbucklers.
>I can't think of a single game where threat-based taunting works on players.
Because most games are shit compared with what we're talking about. ET turns an aggro grab like anchor howl into a situational attack, which is much smarter than giving a tank class extra attacks intended for use in pvp
Their MP is limited anon. Also, I doubt their defense cound stand for long time.
inb4 they can restore MP
not to say that they don't *potentially* have abilities that benefit melee fighters, but so far, all the bards have been able to do is benefit magic users, regenerating MP, double-casting magic attacks, lowering threat generated, etc. unless more information concerning bard skills is posted, i won't be able to support this team.
>plate wearing class that can heal massive amounts of HP
>can't stand for long
The question is whether their MP runs out before their opponents HP. For example there was a time in wow where the hots of druids were so dumb in pvp that they could easily tank 4 or 5 dps classes focusing them. Because the hot skills were designed for healing massively damaging raid encounters with pvp as an after thought.
You misunderstand. Bards have sleep locking in this game.
>Lullaby of the Mermaid in the Moonlight: Curse song Special attack skill Movement hindrance | A support song that puts the target enemy and those around it to sleep. It is set so that the difference in level between the target and caster will affect how long it takes for it to fall asleep so the effect is not instantaneous. And so you might be countered if the target can see through the time it has before the effect occurs and cause this lock "Hit right before effect occurs" then sleep -> (Get hit) Wake up -> Immediate Sleep (Rinse and repeat) a "Sleep lock". When used, an aqua-blue ripple effect will occur and an image of a singing mermaid will appear over the head of the caster.
Enchanter doesn't stand a chance even with thorn bind hostage. One ranged assassin can basically just snipe--> hide too.
You've got strong DD and basically tripled their damage at minmum. Giving a bard to a team was a mistake. Giving multiples was a death sentence to everyone else.
Enchanters have far more CCs than Thorn Bind, including sleep spells. Remember Shiro sleeping that healer in the fight against the PKers in the first few episodes?
Astral Hypnos [Abnormal status] Magic that makes enemies helpless by putting them to sleep. During the time the target is affected they will have a ZZZ icon displayed. Although they cannot take any action while under effect of sleep, it only lasts 10 seconds at most. Additionally, they will wake up if they take damage. However, if you manage to land <Astral Hypnos> on the target again, the sleeping time is extended. Cooldown time of <Astral Hypnos> is 5 seconds, if used by a competent player it is possible to keep 2 enemies completely helpless at the same time. The technical term for this is "MezKeep" or "Sleeping Peacefully Restraint". While it is possible to continuously restrain 3~4 enemies depending on skill rank and equipment, this is very hard due to magic resistances of the player and a simple mistake like accidentally attacking can ruin it.
A person using crowd control build with Raid equipment specializing in <Atral Hypnos> is called a "FREEZER", just like the name implies, the actions of the enemies will be frozen.
So, yeah, not only Bards can sleep-lock.
I chose cleric. Clerics are cool.
I am getting the impression that most people have a fairly limited view of what clerics can entail though.
>Not being Guardian/Rosegarden Princess
How can one have such shit taste?
from the past 20 or so posts, yeah. clearly, they haven't read the wiki, and don't even know what real MMO clerics are capable of.
Bard Abilities in ET that would synch well with other weapon classes:
>Resonance Beat: Attack skill | Imbues a tune onto a weapon, causing a shockwave on impact, causing a resonance effect with the enemy's body as a medium. Even after the attack is over the effects of the shockwave remains and if an additional attack is made, it will cause a resonance explosion dealing further damage. As 2 hits are needed, the damage dealt is very high.
>Ballad of the Gullible Snail: Curse song Special attack skill Movement hindrance | An offensive curse song that deals minor damage and gives a slow effect to target enemy and others around it. The damage radius is unexpectedly large and it can slow a group of 5-6. However as this move generates a lot of hate if used carelessly, will result in the enemies shifting target from the tank to you. On the other hand in situations where this is not a concern like in solo play or a party without tanks, it is possible to drag the enemies around with "Ballad of the gullible snail" and wear them down with ranged attacks. It seems there are anecdotes of wearing down a high level boss with only the ballad. On use a distorted spiral effect will appear around the target.
>Dancing Peacock Melody is a permanent status buff song exclusive to the Bard class. When in effect, the song raises the agility of the members of the caster's party, helping them avoid enemy attacks
>Meditation Nocturne is a permanent status buff song exclusive to the Bard class. When in effect, this song allows the caster's party to slowly recover MP despite being in combat
>Speed Sword Etude is a permanent status buff song exclusive to the Bard class. When in effect, the song raises the weapon attack speed of the members of the caster's party, ultimately raising their damage potential
So, yeah pretty useful for melee combat allies too.
>wanting to be Neet-hime
>not wanting to be the crustiest
while your taste in waifu's is impeccable, i would not want to *become* her.
>mfw a party filled with Assassins and Swashbucklers with buffed Agility and Weapon attack speed
>mfw enemy parties slowed and put to sleep
Which is nice and all but enchanters have 'very low hp and cloth armour. They are going to be one shotted by the assassins or enfeebled by the swashbutlers dealing triple+ damage before the DD team moves onto the sorcerers and then whittles down the healer.
That brings up the other problem. you have 2 of the most damaging DD in the game that are effectively invisible fighting vs a bunch of ultra squishy players. If you don't get the assassin's asleep you are fucked and then the swashbuckles enfeeble you with their skills.
Enchanter is a very useful class in this game and it's enfeebles are great but it's going to be taken down in an instant. They NEED a tank to survive in a party setup.
The DD party is just too strong. you have buffed DD, double sleep locking, classes that can one shot mages, and swashbuckler's high evasion /hp lets them act as highly damaging off tank.
what does the wiki say about playing multiple songs? also, the wiki lacks information about MP management for bard skills, so i would imagine that they consume magic over the duration of the song. meaning that if multiple songs are in effect, the MP of the bard is going to be consumed rapidly, even with meditation nocturne in effect.
Really, it just depends who lands their sleeps first, the Enchanters or the Bards.
2 buffing songs per bard. Songs last for a few hours without having to be reapplied.
The problem is you guys gave them 2 bards. Before you at least made it so that you needed to pick based on the situation. Two of em means they can just go to town.
Bards can have 2 songs active at the same time, songs consume less MP than magic classes spells and do not cost MP to maintain but take longer to cast.
It really depends on the mechanics of ET and what MMO its PVP most resembles.
Its kind of a tough call but betting against the group with plate Clerics is never a good idea in an MMO, then again neither is betting against team Bard. Both classes tend to completely imbalace PVP in MMOs I've seen them in.
So it comes down to resists. Not even team Cleric can stop that if proper resist gear isn't a thing.
ah, thats the rub then. if songs take longer to cast, and can be interrupted before completion, the faster casting CC will shut them down before they even get off the ground.
Question time, guys!
You can pick a team of any 3 classes/sub-classes, plus yours, to help out in a dungeon run. Nothing huge, but it's challenging indeed without survival skills, and normally you'd need all available roles to perform well in this dungeon, without worries of wiping out or such. You'd need healers over time, spike healers, crowd controllers, tanks, DPSs both ranged and melee, the works.
However, it is said that you can do it with just 4 people, as long as you get your shit together and know what you're doing.
So, /a/nons, how would you do it? Which classes would you ask to join your perilous quest? What strategies would you devise to fill in the holes of the lacking roles, should the need arise?
>Bards not having songs active at all times.
Your mind comes up with things that SICKEN me.
That's what bow wielding assassins are for, pretty sure they could 2 shot enchies with the Assassinate skill (which can be used with a bow). That's what I like about the Weapon Based team, they have long range ability as well as short and support AND their biggest DD is their ranged capable class (fucking hell Assassins are OP).
>setting up a dueling situation
>allowing a team with support magic that lasts pretty much indefinitely with no mana consumption to sustain before the fighting is allowed to begin.
don't get me wrong, bards are cool and i usually play one in any game that offers them, but seriously, don't expect us to just let you set up the entire fight to be in your favor from the word go pal.
>Having a class that can literally snipe enemies with the most damaging skill in the game from a distance
Wow, that is a bit unbalanced isn't it?
Okay what would be the best 3 man team in general?
and why is it three swashbucklers rowing a canoe?
You forgot >while invisible.
>why is it three swashbucklers rowing a canoe
Because they can all dual wield, DUH!
>Dual wield oars
All other teams only get one oar be man
Not enough information about the classes.
>tfw criminal-class bodies banned from television
I think people somewhat overestimate the strength of Bard sleep based on the AoE component, as long as the Healer team stands far enough apart only 2 of them would be put to sleep at any given time, and theoretically others could cure it as it comes up. That is assuming there are additional spells that duplicate the effect of Notice of Exorcism. (This spell clears one debuff from an ally. It has 20 seconds of cool-down time)
>1 Assassin (for DPS)
>1 Cleric (for heals)
>2 Summoners (to summon tank monsters, Heal monsters, DPS Monsters and basically do everything else)
Only in Australia
also, your straight lying if you think you can tell us that assassins have 'average hp ratings'
straight off the wiki:
Role Offensive Vanguard
Melee Weapon(s) Almost All
Ranged Weapon(s) Almost All
Naked with entire body covered in Evade-buffing Sigils
I figured it as more of a two teams run into each other without any time for planning kinda thing.
Realistically a good bard is going to havesongs o no matter what.
And what size is the area? A full zone? A smaller arena that screws up long ranged attacks due to lack of room?
A mid sized one that probably unfairly gives the ranged dps classes an advantage unless there's at least some cover?
All of the nobility subclasses are Lander-only. I have no clue as to why they've been left on the class sheet for so long.
depending on the situation of the reality-meld of the Apocalypse, having someone walking around singing constantly would get fucking annoying, not to mention it would probably alert every nearby monster in earshot. while in a straight-game scenario, sure, why wouldn't they, LH has shown that common gaming scenarios just don't work anymore.
>Have Shiroe write up a magic contract to force change your subclass to Rosegarden Princess
You know you would.
Best /glasses of all time.
You sing once. it lasts several hours. The rest of the party didn't even realize the bard had sang beforehand in Team Noob.
Such a well adjusted episode
if a bard sings before the party is created, would they inherit whatever song was sung before they joined the bards group? i would assume not. and if the bard party is buffed beforehand, why don't we just assume that the enchanter team used /glassesadjust and prepped their team beforehand as well?
Because Enchant buffs only last for a 30 seconds at best, bard buffs last hours and are more powerful.
>30 seconds at best
whats it like living in a world where its ok to make shit up without consulting the relevant source material?
>Force Step Support magic where for 1 minute
>Keen Edge Support magic that raises the offensive power of an allies weapon. The amount raised is increased as the skill is raised in rank. The weapon that receives the effect emits a soft white glow, increasing the sharpness(power) of the weapon. It has a long duration so it will last for several hours with just one use.
>Accuracy Support Support magic that raises the hit rate of an ally. The 'hit rate' is the point, so it is applied to magic attacks as well, not just melee. At higher ranks it has a greater value even though it doesn't really show, but in high difficulty battles where the difference of a little hit rate can decide the outcome, it will show its true value. The spell has a long duration.
>Gain Immunity Support magic that raises the resistance of an ally, preventing a specific debuff. It has a long duration so it will last for several hours with just one use.
>Haste Magic that accelerates the action speed of an ally. It has a long duration so it is typically casted before battle. However, applying it to each member of the party would consume a large amount of MP, so priority is given to weapon attack and magic attack classes. The acceleration is increased with higher ranks, used by a level 90 cast time and auto-attacks are about 20% faster.
I could keep copying every skill from the wiki, but I think your anus has been sufficiently gaped for the moment.
Different anon, but going from this list. >>100964411
Even if we assume the weapon users are buffed, we don't know if agi doubles as a magic defense stat (it usually isn't) which means that buff did nothing. MP recovery would apply more in protracted battles like the one versus healers or tanks rather than a snare off and burn down like versus the mages. Leaving only the weapon speed buff realistically.
Realistically those are going to be the only spends that a bard would have constantly applied in the provided list. It's still a battle of who surprises who and lands their sleeps/snares first. Which is rather boring to think about.
I'd honestly be fine with that and I find it amusing as shit that an offhanded joke I made exploded into a conversation like this.
It's a bit unfair for the enchanter though since they're stuck with a ton of mana drain to maintain buffs.
Will there be a character that dies off permanently?
You manually dodge in the game. They can evade the magic. What you're thinking of is more along the lines of a resist stat which would be int or wisdom usually with vit/end as a possibility.
The enchanter is definitely going to have to keep up the accuracy increasing spells.
Does the automatic attack of Anchor Howl not work when using Castle of Stone?
MP is the the Enchanter's smallest concern. They have one of the highest MP pools and have abilities that restore it.
With two enchanters in a party, you'd essentially have unlimited MP and enough CC to control a whole another party.
No, the attack still activates
><Castle of Stone> is a powerful skill Guardians use to receive no damage for its duration, but it has a 10 minute cooldown so it is not a special ability that can be used often in battle. However in Elder Tale there are many equipment with cooldown reduction effects. Trump cards like <Counter Break> and <Castle of Stone> can be used at higher rates than normal. This build lets your allies attack the enemy full force while you endure.
why wouldn't it? its not like it makes you immobile.
(Randomly) how did Serara end up in Susukino? Being a low level player and all.
Okay, I've never heard of Enchanters having abilities that restore the absurd amount of MP you would need to maintain an entirely Magic based party (which would be ridiculous because Sorcerers burn through MP like nobody's business).
its like people are just trying to play up the abilities of their favorite classes without actually having the wiki up in another tab as a reference. getting really annoying having to repeatedly slap peoples shit down, especially since i'm not even doing it for my favorite class, which is guardian.
When ET was a game they had gates that let you teleport between player cities whenever you wanted.
And even in the notes it's mentioned that certain spells(haste) can whittle down an enchanter's mp pool if they try to maintain it on a party. Enchanter is at an inherent disadvantage when ti comes to maintaining buffs for a long time. The enchanter party has to rest to keep everything topped up while Team bard can go at top speed with the assassin's as undetectable scouts.
She was with some other noobs in a party/quest nearby at the time..
then I'd think that there should be more players stuck in other areas... people probably can make money saving/transporting people's friends after the apocalypse.
Sorry, the Log Horizon wiki says that it makes you immobile. I guess that's what I get for using a shitty source.
While Castle of Stone does make you immobile, the counterattack of Anchor Howl still activates, this was confirmed by the author in a Q&A. However this only applies to Anchor Howl's counter attack because it's automatic.
um... you realize the real wiki is the one thats linked in the OP, right?
there's a few shit ones that make a bunch of assumptions off of anime-only shit, so try to stick with the right source.
Couldn't the Enchanter just cast Karma Drive on the Sorc and let them crit spam their MP back?
Log Horizon Threads are atm the best ones on /a/
then using Mana Channeling, he could distribute the MP gained by the sorc out to all the other party members.
it really can be infinite mana if the proper spell cadence is maintained.
agreed sir. its been ages since i've been so active in threads on /a/
Well when im looking up to /a/ i see only two types of threads atm the first one are threads about yuris kissing the shit out of each other and now its fujioshishit
So a KD Sorc, an Aborb specced Druid, and an Enchanter would be the ideal trio for theoretically keeping an entire party at max MP.
Scrap that. Throw in a Bard with the MP regeneration song and they could keep up a normal raid.
which is why i don't generally post. LH threads actually give me something to discuss and analyze.
I think when Log Horizon is over i will never visit /a/ again until a 2nd Season for Log Horizon
eh. i just go back into lurk mode. its good to at least keep tabs on whats going on.
Chanches are that the LH tabletop will be released by then, and we'll play the shit out of it online.
Dont visit /a/ whenn the Summer Season comes up
That sounds good
eh, i've been through more than enough summers. im not concerned with newfags being newfags, cause unlike the majority of /a/ i know how to report/hide/carry on
i tried to hide threads with 4chanX but i never worked
You don't want them to.
>looks as if there's a single bloke playing a 1-player shooting game.
>Of course the firepower is very high, but the Sprinkler can even surpass the Sorcerer in damage if he tries hard enough.
Bring on all your assassins.
yeah but that requires a very specific gear build, and forsaking all the utility of your class so one again, your just a glass cannon deepsmachine waiting to get CC'd and gib'd
fuck, i need sleep. I look forward to seeing how far this thread goes while i sleep.
But it would be highly unanticipated and being viable that could make it super effective.
the thing about 'novelty builds' is, in pvp, they only work on the same person once.
We're talking about a one off battle are we not? Or does your perfect storm weapon user team also have the /glassesadjust emote hotkeyed?
If Michitaka taught us anything last episode, it's that everyone has /glassesadjust hotkeyed.
no, they don't. i was under the assumption we were speaking generally. if we're still talking about the confines of the proposed dual, the sprinkler would annihilate just about any team, with maybe the guardian team as an exception.
>Because Enchant buffs only last for a 30 seconds at best
No they weren't.
>Pretending to do magic
> "I don't understand what you're doing"
Most of the Knights of Izumo.
Are the Knights of Izumo vanished forever or will they come back?
Is it LH tabletop or ET tabletop?
I want to make an airship pirate fleet
There's going to be a tabletop?
<Genius> straight-up killed them, I think only Elias Hackblade survived, saved by Kaname and The Greatest Party.
And you had to go and ruin it.
Im really want to know more about how the DPS classes work in this game because all we see is enemys beeing oneshottet by assassins or sorcerers. Is there no steady DPS class who can roam the battlefield?
Yep. It gets released next month.
You've already seen samurai and swashbucklers.
Didn't expect it so soon.
Thorn bind hostage on my hopes.
Anyone know how preparing spells in ET works? How many can they have up at once? Some of the descriptions make it look like you prepare spells before going to dungeons but could you just prepare everything or hot swap spells while already in a dungeon/combat?
Gotta admit I laughed pretty hard when I saw Overrunner and Nightmare Sphere both on the Enchanter spell list, has there been any mention of them being kiting gods?
>Overrunner [Support] Increases the targets movement speed. It does not increase other stats, but one can expect to take less damage because of the increase in possibility to move outside of the attack range of enemies. On the other hand, the increase in speed takes some getting used to so it'll cause some confusion, so it is not used in places with a lot of turns. Targets under the effect of this spell will have the icon of a pair of boots displayed.
>Nightmare Sphere [Abnormal status] Projection of an area being struck by lightning at a designated point, it's a magic attack that deals mind attribute damage to enemies within range, and afflicts a debuff that decreases movement speed. Effects are spread to the surroundings in several transparent spherical fields. There's not much growth in damage even at higher levels of the spell but the movement speed reduction is increased greatly, if casted by a level 90 Enchanter it can reach up to 80% movement speed reduction. Additionally, because the skill rank determines the rate at which the debuff is applied, it is said that a certain amount of strengthening is essential for effective use.
Literally swarm kiters.
Assassin's can do steady dps builtds too but they generally seem to opt for one shotting since it's less ability spamming..
Elias isn't part of Knights of Izumo, since those guys are Ancients belonging to Japan. Elias is part of Knights of Redbranch, Nordic server.
Ah, I messed my information up then, thank you for correcting me.
It's possible to cast a different spell/ability with each hand, but that's an Overskill.
Needs more sugar.
>People who wear glasses are scary
>Michitaka abused the bug to adjust his non-existing glasses
>Everyone's scary in Elder Tale
He's got glasses in his heart
That conference table has been there since the first World Fraccion
And he just shattered the fuck out of it
>"Did I go too far, Shiroe?"
>who can catch who off guard first
>skill never comes into play.
>f you get caught and hit with anything, your fucked.
>skill is not a factor.
Whether you wrote this to provoke or actually believe this, you are retarded either way.
>combat sports don't require skill
>it comes down to who can catch who off guard first
>skill never comes into play
I can't stop laughing at how retarded this sounds.
>not having a proper log horizon folder
>table survives world fractions
>you think a lowly adventurer that doesn't actually wear could be a threat to it
The table is immortal, it only pretended to be shattered to not hurt his feelings.
>its not even its final form
>Your resistance only makes my ***** harder
>hey look that class has a lot of hp and defense its bound to be easy only noobs pick it i'll pick a mage or assassin instead
>the only reason they can handle those mobs is because of their high hp and defense it has nothing to do with skill
>im not being targeted because of my high skills and not because the tank can keep an eye out on everyones aggro meters and manage the danger as it comes its all me im the best
Sports don't have a real surprise attack factor, that would be against the rules even. Your counter example is retarded.
This entire animu is a Japan/America metaphor. Mamare is a huge westaboo, and the "freedom" of adventurers depicts the individuality and creativity of the average westerner, but also their occasional selfishness and lack of sense of duty to society.
Michi gaijin-smashing the table represents the typical western stomping of careful, precise japanese cultural traditions.
You know, I wonder. If I was running a game company in Japan, I'd be seriously thinking about pimping this ride up. It seems pretty popular, it would have a built-in userbase right out of the gate.
It would just be a shitty run-around-grasslands grindfest with a giant healthbars and a cash shop anyway.
Who else went to play terrible MMO's because of LH?
>The monks at Green and Green have to touch them with their bare hands
the fact that you can't seem to grasp a concept as simple as 'element of surprise' just goes to demonstrate how much of a delusional sin fanboy you are. if you honestly believe that just because your an assassin your some master of shadows that is untraceable, undetectable and unkillable, you've got one seriously rude awakening coming when akatsuki gets killed
who he hell ever mentioned sports? don't try to greentext if you don't have someone to quote accurately sir.
Isn't this what happened with the .hack games? They were basically Tales JRPGs.
couldn't have put it better myself /a/non.
Why mmorpg have to be this way?
Because we cannot have nice things. Ever.
He also has Akiba be ruled by corporate council, so much freedom and westabooism there.
Picked up FFXIV for a $1 because of LH. Really makes made me miss by old guild and tank bro.
you guys make it sound like a bad thing. considering how fucking retarded the landers were being in their dealings with them at the convention, shit would have taken another 20 episodes to resolve if the adventurers didn't get shit rolling. ceremony is one thing, but needlessly drawing shit out in a negotiation just to get the upperhand? we call that a filibuster, and its fucking annoying as all hell.
Started on RO again because of LH.
Yeah, Adventurers just said "fuck you" to ceremonies and did what they had to do. I doubt it has anything to do with "stomping over tradition", rather it's about crushing bureaucracy.
To be fair, making a nice MMO like Elder Tale, even if it has shit graphics is quite possible, you'd just need people with actual skills and a fund like kickstarter or indiegogo. But yeah, pretty damn hard, all things considering.
The reason big companies don't make MMOs with all the elements we or, say, Mamare-san want, is because of the shareholders.
If it has no cash shop, then they'll lose interest. If it has no WoW elements, then they'll lose interest.
If it doesn't glue the players to the screen for hours to no end with little progress and repetitive quests, so they can do it all again for a full straight month, then they're not interested.
Not that all companies are run by them, mind you, but in general the big ones have to follow the market's tendencies, not what is fun.
Went back to EQ p99, nostalgia'd over how both rewarding and penalizing MMO's used to be, still loving it.
I can tell you from experience as a programmer that successfully implementing good ideas for a game is a lot harder than it sounds. It's all well and good to say that we could get something good if the corporate moneygrubbers would fuck off, but translating our idea of ET to a decent game is fucking hard on its own. If anything, graphics are the easy part, since you can just imitate Tera and slap simple models/terrainmaps into unreal and be done with it.
I feel like playing one, but remembering how godawful the ones I wanted to play are I saved myself the suffering.
Why don't the Landers just call for aid from Rohan?
<Genius> destroyed the beacons.
Oh yeah, programming is definitely hard as shit, but if you start out slow, you can build up at least a good base for something good in the near future.
hefty penalties were great. xp loss on death, dropping your inventory on the ground when you died, having to fucking RUN all the way back to where you were leveling as opposed to just teleporting back there in 30 seconds with some kind of mass transit system.
aahhhh, good times. kept the scrubs away, and added the edge of excitement to the game.
You obviously have no clue about combat sports. Feints and surprise attacks are extremely common.
A decent boxer could dodge every single of your punches with ease. Even if he wasn't allowed to move, he could simply block them all and you would be exhausted long before you achieved anything. You cannot brute force a knockout or a good hit, you cannot be fast enough when the move is even slightly predictable.
But back to the original point. It is unbelievably retarded to claim that such a battle would not be affected by skill. In other games where you can actively dodge attacks such as Dark Souls a skilled veteran can kill hundreds of unskilled players without getting hit once. Have you ever even played a well made skill dependent combat game?
Why didn't the Landers just build bigger walls?
im waiting for Warlords of Draenor
The walls are Landers.
I don't want to rain on everybody's parade. I'm just trying to inject some realism here because even with a good team of people funded properly making worthwhile progress would take a pretty long time and plenty of people would almost certainty be disappointed with one or more major aspects.
Making a basic 3d MMO engine with some basic core functions would be a really interesting project, though...
Mmh, you're not raining, no worries, I'm aware it'd take a long time and a bunch of dedicated people, and that at least one person would be disappointed, you can't please them all.
I just think the idea of making something pretty simple, from scratch-up, and work from there with the passing years seems pretty tempting though, y'know? The more people playing and having fun, the more ideas suggested, the more implemented, and the game evolves with the user base and time.
I didn't say it was a bad thing. I said Mamare's a westaboo, so obviously he's showing the adventurers' side of things as sympathetic.
Not to get anyone's hopes up or down, but as soon as the LH tabletop gets released with some core rules, we/myself can grab a gamemaker and rpg maker, make a simple, rough game, get a group on development from /a/ and /vg/ then send the final product to Mamare. I know he's a realistic and good bussinessman, if it has any chance of survival, he'll get it done.
We could even have a non-shitty MMO for once, except the core engine which is bound to be cardboard-tech level.
again, we aren't talking about sports. we're talking about Elder Tale, and MMO open-world PVP in general. the fact that your trying to compare a structured dueling environment like a boxing match to open-world pvp was where you went full-retard. comparing a feint in boxing to a surprise attack by a sorc at max range in the middle of a forest is a terrible analogy. even in an action game where dodging is key, this kind of ambush can and will destroy you with no way of really countering it, especially if the nuke in question can one-shot you. you can't dodge what you can't see coming.
inb4 'but im a ninja tracker that always his my shadow step and tracking skill active at all times, even when im asleep, because i've been living in the database my whole life and your never going to git gud like me'
We don't need that shit here.
I wonder if Berserkers have an ability that prevents them from being charmed or put to sleep.
>programming is definitely hard as shit
No it isn't. Programming is pretty simple.
>if you start out slow
The problem is not the difficulty. The problem is the amount of stuff you have to do. What takes the longest is not the coding but creating all the content. Of course you can create a 3D game with abysmal graphics and barely any content within a single day but who wants to play that. But even one single decent looking and moving 3D model can easily take more than a week. Now create a few thousands of those and design a whole virtual world up to small details and you already have a project not even a small team could ever fulfill within their life time.
Coding is easy. Creating something worthwile within limited time is more difficult. Creating anything comparable to Elder Tale will take tens of thousands of people working on it for several years with current technologies and will definitely not exist in 2018. The time of true virtual worlds won't come before 2025.
Yeah, it could be cool.
This is not the way to do it. Gamemaker/RPG maker are the very last things you want to use if the point is to create a codebase that can be improved on. Using a prebuilt engine (I think I mentioned Unreal earlier) is fine, but using rpgmaker etc is asking for awful awful failure and disappointment.
when this happens, i will be all over this shit. even if its only by downloading a fan-translated pdf scan of the rulebook, i will peruse that bitch from dusk till dawn and beyond. even if things look shakey from an investors standpoint, the only thing any reasonable investor will need to see is a large enough demand from the public.
I assume release will be in Japan. Has there been any word of a western release or people set on translating it?
I haven't watched the anime in weeks, are they still on Volume 4?
Can anyone remember what was max party and raid size in Elder Tales?
just wrapping it up. neet-hime is in Akiba and is about to give the adventurers her quest to slay the goblins.
No western release, and no /a/nons have stepped forward t to work on it.
I can't believe how stupid you are to claim that skill won't matter at all as soon as the most powerful attacks in the game can 1hit you. Instead you treat me like a naruto fan.
Point is that I often go for low defense high offense builds in any combat games I play. In Log Horizon I would choose Assassin because of their high damage output and great mobility. And every time I use those builds, I die a lot early on but as soon as I have enough practice and use my builds to their potential, I am nigh unbeatable. But you claim that those builds are not skill dependant at all while tank builds where it does not matter whether you are hit or not are.
How does this even make sense to anything capable of basic logical thinking?
Bummer, I could help if it were in Chinese but I can't do anything for Moon.
I chose cleric because I like to heal tank while bashing heads in. It's a battle of attrition.
You mean starting it out, learning, and so on is easy, yes. The hard part is exactly what you described, we know it's no cakewalk and it's definitely not feasible with an A+ level of quality within just a few years. It'd take a massive amount of time.
Yeah, while I agree with making something simple and sending it, which could potentially bring up good things in the future, and Unreal is a good engine to work on, yeah.
Oh baby, time to "convince" every Adventurer in Akiba!
>Lenessia asks me individually to help kill gooblaks
>Say I will on one condition
>She asks what
"Only if you come to my house and have a tea party with me."
Debauchery tea party plan all over again.
But this time with Landers that know the Princess has been teaparty-fied
Leonardo was technically stuck in Big Apple, since the place was a war zone so he couldn't leave normally, so he used a Fairy Ring
>we call that a filibuster, and its fucking annoying as all hell.
>rather it's about crushing bureaucracy.
How does this coincide with American's at all? Do you not pay any attention to the politics driving the country into the ground?
and i can't believe how delusional you have to be to continue to ignore the main point of the discussion from word one: the ambush factor. my whole argument from point one is that there is zero skill involved, no twitch reflex that will save you from an assassin that can sneak up behind you, while *invisible*, and use a skill that has a potential insta-kill mechanic built in, before anyone can do anything counteract it.
i also argued that, ON THE OPPOSITE END OF THE SKILL-LESS SPECTRUM, any assassin that is also caught unawares, whether it be by another brokenly lame assassin, or by a ranged nuker like a sorc, or a CC machine like a bard or an enchanter, the assassin will be 1-shot by a high level nuke, rooted or slept by the CC machines, and raped before any counterplay can ever take place, hence the SKILL-LESSness.
if you want to be a badass assassin that confidently walks up to me in fight, believing that you can evade all of my attacks, and utterly destroy me without me ever landing a blow, then you will earn my respect and a top-notch pvp player. but if you want to rely on puss shit like 'lolASSASSINATED from the shadows by master ninja' like almost every other pussy sin i've ever had to beat down, Yes, I will stick to my tank builds. You know, that one character type that you *can't* just insta-kill in one move.
and after you do make your big attack on me, and give away your position, i *will* anchor howl you, I will shield bash you in the face for a free stun, and i will grind you back into the pulp that your paper thin HP bar was made out of.
But it's his vision of how true North-Americans are Free and can do whatever they want.
Topkekm8. Most of them are drones prepared by the "schools" to work until they can't work no more. There's not much "freedom".
your kinda projecting really hard onto Mamare-san, don'tcha think?
Check the pastebins.
There were a bunch of European players trapped in Africa and the Middle East.
>In Africa they fought for a few weeks, made up, and are now working together to fix the transport ring.
>In the Middle East riots broke out, driving the European production guilds and stray adventurers back to their server.
>All of the nobility subclasses are Lander-only. I have no clue as to why they've been left on the class sheet for so long.
The Lander nobles were considering giving titles to select Adventurers. Wonder if that would allow you to set certain nobility subclasses?
Guys, I'm saying it's the vision, I'm not saying it's true. When you think about how North-America is from a foreigner's eyes, it's a country that bases itself on the pillars of freedom of speech and such.
Even though that's a huge load of bollocks, and we know it, I'm just saying that that is how he most likely sees it. It isn't right, and it isn't accurate, but it's there.
Debauchery Tea Party when?
party size is 6 players
He's projecting pretty hard. Not sure how hard, as landers are rather Japan-esque and adventurers are rather America-esque, but it might just be a coincidence. It could be a commentary on the human spirit. Horse's mouth, etc.
So how does the ecosystem work if adventurer economy is pretty much entirely based on monsters? Demihumans take at least 3 years to cycle back to being killed so do non-humanoid monsters do that growth cycle respawn too or just pop into existance? And how does that shit work in dungeons? Monsters start spawning like clockwork because that's how it is?
15 000 adventurers would sweep Akiba's surroundings clean pretty fast considering new crafting methods require more ingredients as quality is more of an issue.
>it's magic, it just works.
Saturation and condensation? Outside that native three-year cycle, it could be that if too much essence is dissipated into the atmosphere, monsters appear rapidly until a minimum population is achieved.
Kuroe and co have to kill god to prevent natural balancing of essence from occurring. Or just organise a massive culling of demihumans and monsters on global level to cause another world fraction.
I genuinely love the fact someone took the hours to do this. I'll be looking forward to future updates.
Party = 6
Full Raid = 24 (4 parties)
Legion Raid = 96 (4 full raids)
>You will never relax in a Lander village and fuck every woman in the village with your huge Adventurer dick
implying I won't simply dream about being a badass guardian in a lander village, and casting Anchor Howl from my dick
They won't be able to resist!
Server populations were higher pre apocalypse. The current adventurers have to do the work of a dozen men. The Demi Human population isn't going to be as devastated as you think.
Does anyone have some good pictures of the bag of holding? I need as many different angles ad possible to make one for cosplay in two weeks. I have plenty of leather. Once its done I will post pics. If it turns out well I will make more and give one away here.
That sounds like a vacation to japan, actually.
He has no glasses! Silly michitaka!
not all characters have the same style of bag as far as i can tell, so either the "bag of holding" is just the ability to hold untold amounts of items that you imbue a regular bag with, or it comes in different designs who are you cosplaying out of interest?
What's the next level? Scorched earth raid?
Was going as shiro since my brother is doing crusty and my wife is doing akatsuki. I have leather and tools and can make the staff from wood so I'm pretty good there.
There appear to be different types. If you look at the character descriptions the tatooface guy has an extra large one that lowers movement speed. he puts it on his horse for utility.
It says Shiroe-"san" memo, so that cover is all Minori.
according to the wiki thats actually a different bag altogether, I think it would make more sense if there was a certain style of bag for each class, and you could change its colours by getting it dyed
(this is all speculation though)
Now that we're on topic, how many Akatsukis fit in a bag of holding?
Or lolis for that matter.
You can fit 12.
It was specifically designed to carry 12, as most players would have at least that many lolis.
Depends on how much equipment they have on as each piece takes a slot plus the person themselves.
Why would I carry non-naked lolis around, really?
If you want battle lolis its good to give them equipment.
What about shy lolis? Are you really going to force them to be naked?
What are the Landers' thought about not being able to give the adventurers quests now? And where did the bounties (for completing the quests) come from?
Episode 11 at 15:30, I'm pretty sure it's better if you take a look at it rather than me posting screencaps.
There's a tiny, but detailed pic on the wiki:
Remember until the adventurers started making stuff log horizon and elder tale did not have underwear.
oh cool, without combing through the entire episode list the title song has a good view in it (pic related, please excuse the shitty quality, streaming anime is suffering)
but yeah you might just have to go episode diving for more reference pictures
You guys make me realize that loli transportation is no simple matter.
captcha is which tamololi
Damn it, that caught me off guard.
Oh, and you can see 3-4 bags, all different design in that episode.
I didn't find a scene about Shiro's bag though.
That's right Anon, you have to do these things properly.
No worries though, we have all thought long and hard about these things and can help each other perfect the process of loli transportation.
and how are you supposed to wear that? strap it across your shoulder?
yeah looking at that confirms they have different designs, hell some people don't even have a visible bag, i think its more a buff to your personal inventory than anything else
you probably just use any bag as an access point, or upgrade a bag you already have (ie one of the quest ingredients is a bag )
It's for his mount.
That one in the link is a special one, intended for use with horses, so it's basically a saddle bag. You can carry it too, but it slows you down.
It's two bags of holding on two sides of a saddle, so if you're making one, only make one side.
Description on the bottom of the page.
Gonna have to go diving then. On a side note the staff being hickory is going to make it a weapon of top class durability.
That gave me a great idea
I googled Shiroe.
Here you go.>>100979365
you could probably make one just from that screenshot and improvise a little, its a fairly basic design after all
wrong quality, excuse me
You gorgeous bastarf thank you!
The scroll through it looks really cool, found another one.
Just out of curiosity: are you a proficient leatherworker, or just an experienced cosplayer?
I clicked the skythewood pastebin but it says he has no public documents. Anyone have access to volume 6 TL?
thats such a glaringly obvious thing to do now that you've done it, damn, looks like a nice bag though
(sure its got antigravitational properties but thats magic for yah)
Is that really how you're supposed to grab onto that staff when using it as a crane?
Get rid of the backslash at the end.
I just do leatherwork as a hobby
Nope, he's just holding it, he's not weighing on it, you can see that.
That thing at the top is just for show, not for grabbing definitely.
Make sure to send pics when you're done, I'm really interested.
not that anon but what sorts of things do you make, im currently making a list of various hobbies to try my hand at when i get an ounce of free time, D&D is next on the list (which is sort of related i guess)
It is when you use it as a pimpcane.
Not that anon, but that's really awesome! Please post pictures in a related LH thread when you're done, I will be quite interested to see the results.
>Make sure to send pics when you're done, I'm really interested.
I'm really interested in his wife's Akatsuki.
Why is Australia such a nation of literally solid failure?
Yep. Gonna draw up plans for it tonight. Cut strapping tomm. And shape it out. Looks like it had a compass and ink well on it too. I can make it retain shape by putting a box in it. Not sure what to put on the scroll. Anyone know whats on studies contract?
>I'm really interested in his wife
Now that you mention it..
>If it turns out well I will make more and give one away here.
Any chance we could get a loliwife instead?
im more interested in his brother crusty, no homo just want to see the armor assuming he is not gunna do the round table uniform
Can you fucking imagine a cool huge armor like his and how awesome that would be?
How to explain it? Since I'm pretty tired I'll just ramble.
Leveling takes forever, most classes are completely incapable of soloing so you need to group, each role in the group actually matters, and even at low levels a single level can take hours to get through. As a result you actually end up getting to see a lot of the content in each level range if you want to, and with no instances you actually see other players all the time in dungeons.
There's no such thing as mob evade while pathing back home, if someone else gets killed their mobs might come straight for you, and all mobs hit way harder than players on average. When you die you lose xp(less if you get a res), it starts small but by 60 a single death can wipe out a full days worth of xping. You respawn with nothing and have to be able to get back down to wherever you died naked to loot your body and reequip. You can lose levels from dying, and if you die somewhere unrecoverable you might need to find a necro to summon your body to you.
Depending on class you can have a massive toolbelt of spells, or just auto-attack and a couple abilities. Not all classes are created equal, some excel in groups, some solo, some only in raids, some do it all, and others suck at everything.
The game feels big, it actually takes multiple months to reach max level unless you really know what you're doing. The world is massive, there's no fast travel, only Wizards and Druids can teleport players to certain locations. Travel can take hours between boatrides and running, but the world is very open and works.
Players who really know the game can do a lot of things that were never really intended, from Bards swarm kiting over 100 mobs at a time, to a Monk and Shaman being able to duo a dragon designed to be fought by 20+.
What it comes down to for me is that dangers make it all the better when you win, and the insanity of some situations you end up in, is just way more exciting than any other game I've played.
I make satchels and bracers mostly. Some scabbards too. Its not hard just time consuming.
"Contract... Log Horizon representative Shiroe, and Rundelhous Code agree to the following terms:
1. Effective immediately, Shiroe invites Rundelhous to join the guild Log Horizon.
2. Rundelhous will act appropriately and carry out tasks assigned seriously befitting his position as a member of Log Horizon.
3. Log Horizon will provide Rundelhous with necessary support to aid him in carrying out his tasks... including the identity of an Adventurer.
4. This contract is based on mutual agreement of both parties, whatever things either party gain will remain in effect even if the contract lapses.
As above, there are 2 copies of the contract, both parties will keep one copy after signing the agreement as proof."
It also has the signatures of Rudie and Shiroe.
That really sounds awesome, but knowing myself, i'd get buttfrustrated, especially over losing progress.
Heh maybe. Its why I married her, she's really young looking for 25.
Well gonna have to calligraphy this. Wonder where I can get some vellum.
>i'd get buttfrustrated, especially over losing progress.
It can be made to work in your favor, if you want. A party I was in once made someone lose 6 levels after he pissed us off.
Wait its not defying gravity. It seems his bag is connected by a stake or large pin that runs along the belt probably you put a few loops through a couple holes cut in the back then slide the pin in. This is good because it would allow you to adjust it to fit you. Also you could dump the bag by just pulling the pin.
Like in ffxi. We used to delevel people by pulling kraken into them then releasing it.
I was wondering what's that pin for, you seem to be right.
There's no thread where this image doesn't come in handy.
This is exactly how I imagine that scene in an eastern MMO
That's pretty much what it amounted to.
Try a big box office supply store.
You guys know rainmeter, right?
I wonder if it would be worth the effort to try and put together a Log Horizon HUD skin for it.
I'm planning on it, but sure as hell couldn't do it alone.
and the goal would be similar
Would be cool but damn rain lender is annoying.
That's 100% true, I would only be making it for the coolness factor.
Rainmeter is shit, I literally only use it for a skin for my recycle bin. Making a visual style is what I would pay for.
Fuck it, I'll give that a try. I wouldn't be actually using rainmeter either.
My main problem is that I couldn't make it full of pretty buttons like in Shiro's HUD, would have to settle for redesigned icons.
Now that I typed it - it would be really exciting with Win8 and touchscreen.
Oh god windows 8? You poor suffering anon. I'm so sorry for you.
Would make for an awesome tablet skin.
>not windows 7
8 is better, it's a higher number, duh.
How many gimmicks should I take a day?
If you boot right to desktop and skip the tile bullshit, it's essentially the same as 7 minus a start button.
If an adventurer knocks up and lander, will the child be able to resurrect or just be a normal lander?
What if an adventurer knocks up another adventurer, what will the child be?
Until you use a program that doesn't work on 8
What a shitter, I'm on Windows 98. The highest number.
All pregnancy questions are officially 'wait a few months' answers.
adventurer knocks up *a* lander
Sorry I just took some flu pills.
But I love my start button. Does it at least allow the run command bar?>>100983141
If a girl adventurer got raped and killed, will she resurrect with her hymen intact? (Assuming she was a virgin to begin with)
Holy shit a new OS has compatibility issues. Stop the fucking presses!
No, you don't understand.
Every other OS from M$ is shit
Windows 2000 = Absolute dogshit
Windows XP = good
Windows Vista = sucked dick
Windows 7 = good
Windows 8 = shit
There's a start-button patch. And yes, it does.
Haven't noticed much of a difference between 7 and 8
I would be making it for both, with win7 in mind, but windows can't be prettied up enough to be perfectly LH I'm afraid.
I'll probably post results 24 hours from now.
2000 wasn't shit, it's what XP was based on.
I think you meant to type ME.
Yes, you're correct.
Sea horror or a generic Kraken?
Everyone stuck on a small boat and all at noob level with nowhere to run.
What happened to all the afk bots in that apocalypse?
Heh just kraken at delkfutt tower I was never that mean.
Does anyone have a decent shot of the HUD or know which episode has some?
Sameanon here, and I don't have a single one.
I'm planning on taking screencaps and drawing them in Gimp/PS from scratch, following the artstyle.
Yeah, since I have no art skills, I was just going to get the frames off of the wiki and put recolored generic icons inside of them. Still need to find a background though
God damn it. Have to cover this in x-23 threads over at /co/ all the time. The hymen is not something that needs "popped". It's a small elastic piece of flesh that becomes more elastic by foreplay and stays that way more often the more a woman gets some. Cases of bleeding in virgins are usually lack of foreplay and anxiety. Not to mention a hymen can be torn much earlier in life through exercise and such and become a moot point anyway. So it can be torn but it does not need to be.
>Everyone stuck on a small boat and all at noob level with nowhere to run.
Cue Benny Hill's "Yakkity Sax". Hilarity ensues.
you dont understand, the boat only has the outside, a small cabin, and an area in the hull. you CANNOT get away on the boat. if you do many times it will cast magic on you to hit you through the walls and kill you.
8 would have been good if it weren't for the assholes in marketing pushing the stupid live tiles. All the behind the scenes changes (Like the new task manager) are serious improvements.
Server 2012 is even worse than 8 though. Some of our new servers at work are 2012 and it's like they went through Server Manager and added two to three extra steps to everything.
>Have 7 on the laptop
>Have 8 on the PC
I honestly don't notice the difference. The new start took a while to get used to, but now that I have, I honestly prefer it more than the start menu, it's a lot faster. Even the run feature is better with the tiles. As someone who uses a shitton of programs daily, it's really nice.
Tiles are only really good if you have a touch screen as far as I'm concerned. It's the only thing that can justify their sheer size.
I want to watch some anime but once again I can't really decide... I guess I will rewatch Log Horizon and write down every glasses adjust so that I can make a gif compilation once I have the time.
>write down every glasses adjust
There's already an image that counts them.
well, it literally was a prison colony, so not much has changed.
Ask them about the Great Emu Rebellion. We had a lot of fun with them around the time Pacific Rim came out. Switching the kaiju in pictures for emus.
heres my rough draft drawn out. its horribly drawn but I think I can do this in a day or two.
sorry for the ruger in the background, I was unaware the picture caught that as Im on phone atm.
I'd even consider buying one from you, if it turns out to be as cool as it seems.

Don't remember ever seeing any furry bits on her.
Oh I bet she has some.
Wolf fangs only get furry bits in combat or when they're flustered.
They can hulk out anon.

Heh. This is a motel room so not much to do after work. I'm going to have to cut strapping from tonight but the oilskin shown here has ample extra to take from. Pic is my current motel room workbench.

Works great for me, these are all the programs I ever use.

You realize you look like a serial killer, right?
>all that equipment
Who is it Anon? Who is going to die?
His equipment isn't clean enough for that.
Wait, are you sure human skin makes for a durable enough bag?
nothing, and nobody, I just have to have a hobby after work and when you travel its good to have a gun. saved my ass more than once.
wouldnt know, never tried and dont really want too. oilskin is pretty water proof though and as long as I sew it right it should be sturdy enough for a few books and watnot.
What do you do for work? Your life sounds sad and interesting at the same time.
>saved my ass more than once.
Where do you live, Syria?
Could be any country, really.
I work for a natural gas pipeline.
our company puts us up in some ghetto ass motels sometimes anon. plus they have sent us into union only areas when we wherent union, people dont joke about that shit.
Not really. Even when you tan it to make leather, it's like a step above rabbit in terms of durability. You'd use it decoratively and more for the curiosity value if you used it at all.
Once again proving pure deeps caster types are objectively more awesome.
Good luck with your work, pipeline anon.
Oh my fucking god
They completely changed it
I wanted to see Shiroe holding Akatsuki
fucking piece of shit episode what were they thinking
Holding is too lewd for NHK.
I was looking forward to it, and now I'm really disappointed. At least there's the scene when Shiroe will travel to Choushi.
don't you have to drop your kids off at soccer practice?
tried rift and the secret world but it didnt help
>the secret world
It always sounded like it wanted to be an edgy 'criminals instead of soldiers' cowadoody wow abomination
Yeah, it always sounded pretty bad in my opinion. When it was a concept, I was pretty hyped myself, but something similar to Elder Tale... That's hard.
The only thing that's been filling the gap sort of for me is Ragnarök 1.
Hey guys what happened to the West Wind Brigade manga? Did it end at 12?
I don't think you have to specify 1. I think most of us refuse to even acknowledge the existence of 2.
Try asking /tg/ when it comes out. Not sure how many of us speak moon, but we could help with polishing; translating game terms and whatnot.
As far as I know, no.
You're right, even I do, although I tried it (and was sorely disappointed), but I like to be thorough.
You should become a tripfag for the time you craft the bag.
From now on you shall call yourself "pipeline anon"

OK THEN! here is my current progress.

anyone want a how too when Im done?
is ragnarök that good ? the grafics seem very bad
fine with me, heres next pic.
Playing EVE online because it was $2 on steam sale. Still pondering whether to bother resubbing.
We think the tl-anon is waiting for better raws. Haven't heard from him in weeks though.
I doubt they'd be up for it. I remember /tg/ trying to translate one or two of the games from Quick Start and those projects faded away.
There was something that looked intriguing in one of the past log threads but I didn't bookmark it and can't remember the name. It seemed to be more about building the world through econ and shit than raidan/pvpan/whinan.
Will probably end up being shit but it isn't available yet so one can dream yea?
last pic for now, just last one without stencils.
now on to punching wholes and sewing.
is this leather ? looks more like paper or are you going to do some kind of stencil first
Are you really judging a game from 2002 on its graphics?
>We think the tl-anon is waiting for better raws
well that's a relief for a second I thought they stopped translating th-
>Haven't heard from him in weeks though.
That is not good.
ah i know witch game you mean, but i don't remember the name either
Manga has only been published up to vol2 (ch12), the rest have been webraws.
Was it upcoming? If so it's Tree of Savior I guess.
If not, and it's already released, then I have no idea, at all.
Graphics are bad, but it's supposed to be a 2.5D sprite-based game anyway. I quite like it, it's 10x better with friends/other people. By oneself? It's good to help pass time while you're, I dunno, listening to podcasts or watching anime on another screen.
I re-marathoned Log Horizon up to #16 while grinding.
At least the music's kickass.
Good work so far, the next thread should happen in a few more posts, but keep incoming, glad to know you're making progress already!
okay, that makes since.
We play it occasionally, but that's about it.
leather, its oiled stoned leather. dark red to chocolate outside. reddish inside. tough stuff really. I may just cut and put a liner in later, I do have those rabbit skins I posted earlier.
If Nechronica's progress (it's on TLWiki) is any indication, three fa/tg/uys can translate and RPG translations are hard.
Well i have no friends that would play it with me so i quess i won't play it. Thanks tho
Do you use rivets or glue?
Webraws are the worst. The low resolution and overleveling make it almost impossible to read kanji with two or more characters.
Found it, it's ArcheAge
the trailer has much combat in it but the way it reads is that all that shit has to be built via in the game economy before it can be let loose.
Quick moon question. This translates to Dark Prison Gateway. correct?
>ArcheAge right, dosn't look bad imo probably shit tho
I think there are enough of us that we could get a group together to help. Being a collaboration helps a lot there.
Even if we didn't provide any translators, we could help on the RPG end of things.
I will be hand sewing this one, as I did not bring anything except fabric glue with me. however I do use both rivets and glue depending on what the project is, usually if its worth sewing its worth glueing.

>is ragnarök that good ? the grafics seem very bad
It's quite an old game now.
As for it being good, lots of it's nostalgia but it's mechanics are also from a lost age more or less. Some that jump out at me.
-Gear can give you an edge but it's mostly just for show (especially head gear)
-Largely soloable, which makes parties something you join because you want to not because you are obligated to due to game mechs
-Rather sandboxy. Originally it had job change quests and that was about it, it means you don't get into that 'needing to be told to go kill shit' mindset
-Leveling takes time, even oh mid rate private servers it would take hours and if not days to level. EVERYONE who played it has AT LEAST one song they can't get out of their head to this day (assuming they weren't one of those faggots who turned off the music and listened to their music program instead)
Mine is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05-Ug2lqIVo
next step is punching holes.
Hah, mine's Alberta's theme, and also Morroc's.
I dunno, you can solo the game, but it takes incredibly longer, partying seems like a good mechanic still, same as the guild wars.
The gear thing is bullshit still, in my opinion, since it's either cosmetic or you could have something as strong without making it look like this:
>+12 Flaming Strong Jeweled Lance of Dickgod
It could be added, but I doubt he'd answer those at all. Still, yeah, suggest on next thread, why not? I'll back you up.
>I dunno, you can solo the game, but it takes incredibly longer, partying seems like a good mechanic still, same as the guild wars.
Correct, it was less efficient to solo but you could still go anywhere or do anything provided you were at a high enough level and knew your class. You could even sneak through/kite through areas you couldn't handle to get ones that might have a particular mob you could farm.
And I mean payon cave was practically the default starting zone for a shit ton of people who'd gotten to their first class. It was a dungeon but solo players were everywhere in it.
Where as with wow and everything after it, they basically soft required you to have a group to do anything more than zone in without dieing.
I like playing with other people, but I hate being forced to party with other people.
>The gear thing is bullshit still, in my opinion, since it's either cosmetic or you could have something as strong without making it look like this:
The gear thing in RO is bullshit? Or now?
Now it's major bullshit, it has gems and a bunch of other shit to make people feel special about their extra numbers, and it's slowly becoming (if it hasn't already) the deciding factor for duels and wars.
I agree with you though, being forced to party sucks. I would love FFXIV if it had more dungeons, and they were open, instead of instanced.
Instancing is indeed bad, but what's even worse is progress capping.
Original XIV or ARR? I played the Closed Beta to ARR and it was decent. So I don't know about any of this progress capping and such; the instancing was rather tedious though...
Should we make a pastebin with some links to mmos and short descriptions, along with a link to the tabletop game announcement?
If you write something I'll critique it.
ARR, it's actually pretty good, but the instancing and the lack of economic progression options bored me a little bit. It has a typical Final Fantasy story, but it's enjoyable.
I agree, that's terrible. At least in Elder Tale that doesn't happen!
I would be in favor of that, something to scratch the itch.
So with all that in mind, would you recommend it and the monthly payment shite? If I did get it, I'd be playing on the PS4... Because I'm a console pleb
I wish I had it for my PS3.
I'm thinking about getting back on it? It's fun, but yeah the instancing can be pretty tedious, specially if you're not a tank or healer. DPS? Good luck waiting anywhere from 20 to 80 minutes for an instance to open up.
PS3 closed beta was fun as fuck playing as a mage. ;_;
I like to run DPS magick but that takes 5fuckingever to even level. I remember having to wait like 20-35 minutes to do a dungeon instance then. So if I were to go in it now when it's out for PS4 then I'll be way behind the game. It'll probably end up being one of those games where if you come in late and everyone already has like everything then it doesn't seem as fun or worthwhile.
>So I don't know about any of this progress capping
Don't know if it's what the other anon was talking about but to me progress capping was another thing that came from WoW. It includes things like 'only able to raid a raid once a week', only able to get X amount of honor/valor/rep a week, repeatable quests that make you wait until tomorrow to do again.
Basically it's things that absolutely prevent you from grinding even if you want to with the intention of increasing the number of subscription cycle you'll have to pay for to meet your goal.
Yeah, it's been some time, but the new patch introduced guild housing, from normal houses to mansions and new stuff, it's looking nice.
I might get back next month if I remember my password. Yes. I know.
Just got to the end of volume 5. Mother of god.
Are you fucking ready anon?
Did you read the part with Nureha?

Is this really what you intended to post? Because I'm confused.
Yes, Gone with the Blastwave is the shit.
Damn Pipeline Anon, that looks great so far!
God damnit she's clearly evil but so fucking alluring shit.
This anon knows what's up.
Oh, I've never really experienced that, but then again, I'm not too experienced in MMORPGs. The concept allures me, because I love me some magicks, but god damn it's like every one of them makes the DPS mage fucking gay as shit and not fun to play.
Holy shit, that sounds awesome as hell...
If it's any consolation, I don't remember my password either... ;_;
I don't want to make a new account because I have a level 50 Paladin in there with good equipment and it'd be a terrible shame to throw it all away.
Guys we may be dealing with a legendary cosplayer.
Because I only ever played the CB of ARR, I only managed to get level 31 with my red mage or whatever been so long I don't even remember class names aside from the blu mage I wanted to get.
>doesn't use a buckler
>Oh, I've never really experienced that, but then again, I'm not too experienced in MMORPGs. The concept allures me, because I love me some magicks, but god damn it's like every one of them makes the DPS mage fucking gay as shit and not fun to play.
Ah... well it's also hugely irritating for another reason. They can't just say it's to milk your subscription money. So instead they try to play it off as a way to keep the game more fair by not letting people who'd play the game more often progress faster.
Hence progress capping.
Probably a regular mage. A shame Red Mages don't exist, I would've picked that class in a heartbeat.
Speaking of which, why are there no mixed magical classes in ET? I mean yes, for the sake of convenience, but it'd be pretty cool.
Yeah, progress capping really is terrible. FFXIV has that, but it's for a point system to get the last level of gear. I don't find it annoying, just that it'd consume your whole free time and then some if you decided to go hardcore and get everything. Even more if you decide to do that for all classes.
Is it wrong that I want to play an MMO again because of Log Horizon?
What should I play?
God dammit I'm still listening to this on repeat, the nostalgia has me and it won't let go.
>I don't find it annoying, just that it'd consume your whole free time and then some if you decided to go hardcore and get everything. Even more if you decide to do that for all classes.
However as a player how I want to spend my time playing a game (especially a subscription game) should be my choice. If that's joining every raid party I can find for a solid week until I vomit blood then so be it.
>why are there no mixed magical classes in ET?
That's what sub-classes are for.
>Red Text: Magical Rogue - Sacrifice physical skills for magical spells.
This chain would guide Akiba and Minami to the 'Sky Labyrinth of Inburiumu' and onward to the 'Sea of Nectar'.
I don't know what it means but I am excite.
Quest line that leads to the moon.
Go see the sights in GW2.
Not him, but I bought GW2 a few weeks ago to play with friends, since we've been fired up to live in the database for a while and tried Tera and WoW and quickly got bored with both. GW2 seems pretty good so far. We 4-manned a 5-man dungeon last night and it was a load of fun.
GW2 is the most 'different' mainstream MMO available. Their removal of the 'hard roles' of healer/dps/tank that inundate wow and it's clones is a refreshing choice. Plus there's shit tons of exploration in the world with all the jumping puzzles.
>Implying Nureha is evil
Oh, You poor soul.
The complexity is really low though.
The depth isn't bad but having to go zerker 100% of the time except in wvw is kind of lame.
The jumping puzzles are fucking awesome and a load of fun. I also like the huge amount of area group events that just kind of happen and how usually loads of people turn up to help with them. The automatic and smooth downleveling is also cool since you can go do events/help friends anywhere and still get meaningful stuff out of it.
Most of the complaints I see about it are to do with the endgame/lack of expansions but my friends and I have a good while to go before we run out of stuff to do, so I'm not upset yet.
I bet her lipstick is laced with poison.
Red Mage > all
DDO has plenty of complexity, though the huge number of build options also means you have a huge number of chances to screw up your build irrepairably.
I played DDO years ago and quit at level 19.5 because I realized that even though playing a wizard had been awesome up until that point, a sorceror did 25-40% more damage than me while also having ~30% more MP and I was a glorified jump and hastebot who could press Int buttons. And the raids were shit and all the instances took at least 45 minutes instead of 15-20.
I feel bad because I rolled and won a rare drop of the best monk armor in the game, some cloth armor with a 5 dodge bonus on it that I never use because 5 more AC doesn't mean shit when all the enemies have +20 BAB and I'd rather have more spell pen 90% of the time.
Go slow. You'll enjoy it more.
>oh no the sahaguin have found me
It was pretty fun being able to cast 5 different aoe fog spells and lagging the shit out of everything.
Also, Blind status effects turning your screen FUCKING BLACK for an hour.
>Also, Blind status effects turning your screen FUCKING BLACK for an hour.
Don't remind me of such things please.
Anon keep reading,
Nureha is a kind loving soul.
I would keep reading but 6 and 7 aren't translated.
>Ignoring that she planned the curse and PK'ing of Maryelle and Shoryu.
Waiting for Tree of Savior.
Hope it delivers on its word about 80 bonus classes, tons of unique builds (lets face it, once a wiki comes out, there will only be 10 popular builds and no more unique builds) and thousands of customization options
Sky is nearly done with the second chapter of volume six. The entire volume should be finished late next week.
ToS is too ambitious to succeed. Wake up guys
I will keep dreaming in the database.
That quest. That <BEEP>ing quest. If you're so scared of all those sahuagin, why do you keep running into the middle of them?
I remember being excited when I found a healer to team up with, only to learn that you can't heal NPCs. Gah.
>Based on RO
>80 bonus classes
Its not individual classes. Its gonna be progressive classes. (swordie > knight or defender > lord knight or paladin, etc)
Also, if it hits western markets, expect the good bonus classes to be market-locked, P2W in the cash shops.
>walks headlong into 10 mobs
Escort quests are the worst in MMO's where the NPCs just walk straight through mobs. God damn it.
Especially the ones where you can't move more than x meters away from them, or else they stop walking so you can't even lure shit away beforehand.
>not overleveling to slay every single mob before they can get any close to the NPC
That's what I did. Granted, its easy if you're an AoE nuker.
>train the entire spawn along for the ride
Then there's that dungeon with all the spiders. I was playing a solo rogue about lv3 or so, and spotted a hidden door right before the final room. From past experience I figured it was a rest shrine, so I opened it.
A goddamn TROLL walks out. Yes, this thing - http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/troll.htm
DDO as a rogue was great. One of the few MMOs where skills like lockpicking, trap disarming, etc. are actually useful.
Same dungeon was also filled with poison spiders, poison spiders with ranged attacks, poison scorpions that burrow through the ground, un-disarmable traps that spray poison gas, invisible spiders, and rust monsters, so my resources were pretty low.
But seriously, WTF was that troll even doing there. It had a name and everything.
so far, almost done.
>It had a name and everything.
Rare mob / miniboss/ forget what it's really called most likely.
oh wow, what the hell
that's fucking incredible, good on you
Anon if I had the money and knew you I would commission an Indy jones style knife bag off of you for all my culinary utensils.
Also quests like that one where you have to kill a kobold tribe's priests without killing anything else are nigh-impossible unless you treat it as a stealth game.
I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't enjoy Gone with the Blastwave.
am I the only one who wants to go back to MUDs to scratch that itch?
Looks like Dwarven work to me.
>implying she isn't being manipulated by Inctis
When will Shiroe rescue Nureha?
I've only seen the name mentioned. Hopefully 6 will shed more light on the situation.
Holy shit Pipeline, that's amazing.
>shiroe figures things out
>makes a plan to save nureha but has to do it alone
>Akatsuki finally confesses to him before he leaves
Why won't that girl speak up? Hell, why won't Naotsugu or Nyanta help get them together? Aside from them being a cute couple the situation they are in is a potentially guild destabilizing one.
I agree, but that's because they are both too easygoing and have the whole "We were waiting on you to do the first move, Strategist!" mindset.
That, and I believe they don't find him as thick-headed as he actually is.
Because IRL Akatsuki is probably a super NEET or a Hikkimori
Didn't that girl he respects in DTP consider him slightly unhinged, too though? Not in a crazy way, just in the way of someone who won't let go after an idea they had. I'm hoping whenever she shows up she does something as simple as ask him how long they've been dating.
She's neither. She's used to being treated like a kid and she's somewhat stuck in her coping mechanism of the master/lord thing. Her own younger sister treats her like a kid. When she was in high school she got asked out by a middle schooler. No one wants to date her in the real world because they all think they look like pedos. She just has no clue of how to progress her relationship with him.
