is this manga any good? what kind of person would like it?
>Dat King Arthur
I bet that cloaked figure is the Seven Sins Merlin
Sometimes I wish the author didn't turn every single OP character into a cute shota
Meliodas's cool but then King, Gowther and now Arthur
Isn't King really a fat old man?
He wasn't a shota he was just handsome like Ban.
Nah his shota form is his true form
Arthur looks pretty damn young though.
How much do you want to bet Arthur is related to Meliodas?
Arthur's henchman and the teleporting armored figure seems a different person.
Though magic stuff could be involved so both can be Merlin.
Fucking Hawk wrecking shit
Well you have to realize that his is Arthur in his early days
>Wow Berserk is cool but I wish Miura didn't show young Guts as a shota.......
That's as much sense as you're making.
Gowther isn't a shota, a trap if anything.
You only have Meliodas and King.
Hawk confirmed for strongest pig.
Camelot in this manga is only shortly after Arthur becomes King, which by the legends happened when he was 15 years old.
So a teenager Arthur makes sense from a lore perspective.
These four are pretty much the prime candidates for a heel-face turn. Anyone else with me on that?
Also, it's nice that we've finally seen Margaret. Despite not being related to Elizabeth, the two really do share quite the resemblance.
I bet he's one of the seven sins or some other crazy stupid OP being, who's only disguising himself so he can help out our heroes when the time arises. I hope I'm wrong.
That armor is pimp as hell. I mean, Jesus, just look at it.
So, a theory building off on my previous one on why Merlin was the Sin of Gluttony:
She loves absorbing and collecting magical knowledge. I'm guessing that cloaked person with Arthur was her former teacher or colleague and the real Merlin. However, she stole that Merlin's name and knowledge due to her greed and fled.
Anyone think the way this guy's arm is jutting out of his cloak is strange? If my theory here is wrong, maybe Merlin is using some sort of dimension altering spell to interact from that coat. Either that or she split herself somehow into two beings.
If it got an anime they would have to simplify the armor designs.
Wind bro and lightning fag are definitely going to switch sides. I could maybe see Geera. The last one seems pretty evil though, I mean she used Ban's blood as lipstick.
It' one of the better shounen out there, but that sums it all up.
Being crazy never stopped anyone from being a hero. See Ban. He doesn't think anything of stealing from people (no matter how valuable the item may be to them personally). And he was perfectly willing to kill Meliodas back during the fight festival.
Geera and Jericho comes in a package.
He's got the face of a hero.
All the more reason to switch sides to ensure an endless supply of lipstick.
Wind Bro is going to die.
Just think about it.
Gilthunder's an even bigger prick than Jericho though. Jericho's just buttmad at Ban for stripping her.
I don't think Gil will
I'm not so sure about the others, but if Hauzer doesn't turn I'll be genuinely shocked
The second bottom left panel, it's hawk's eye, right? I'm sure this actually signifies something, since all the other panels show important characters, aside from the most left panel.
>Arthur fighting against the Sins
Aw, dammit, maybe he'll join the Sins's side when the Princess show up and tell him what's going on.
Geera would definately turn once she find out the truth about her father, she value her family more than anything afterall. The other girl might turn aswell, seeing her obsession with Ban. The guy on the left will aswell, he's a nice guy.
The only one who I don't think will turn is the guy on the right.
It could go either way, really. Either he's important or that panel just means that even someone like Hawk was a witness to something so important.
But yeah, if Hawk does turn out to be important, maybe it means he's related to Merlin? Boar's Sin of Gluttony and all that.
>But yeah, if Hawk does turn out to be important, maybe it means he's related to Merlin? Boar's Sin of Gluttony and all that.
Both of them also have bird names.
Gilthunder will turn, he's
>son of the previous great holy knight who was killed by the current duo
>shipped with margeret
He'll probably be the Vegeta asshole ally, but he'll most definitely turn allegiances eventually.
I thought the cloaked person is Merlin first but it seems to be actually child or just small.
That was right her evil persona right after she got demonified, she's obviously good now.
I mean, her hairstyle is different.
She looks 10 years younger now.
The cloaked person is Merlin
The teleporting knight is Merlin too
That Arthur is actually also Merlin.
I love how smug that horse looks.
Is there someone in this kingdom who ISN'T Merlin?
>That Arthur is actually also Merlin
NO FUCK YOU THAT WAS STUPID HOLY FUCK, SONIC AND THE BLACK KNIGHT NEVER HAPPENED
Am I missing some kind of reference here?
I really like Suzuki's brand of background art in NnT. Pretty, sets the mood, not hyper-detailed, without coming across as lazy and has that picture book/fantasy illustration quality to it.
I said it in another thread, it's like he's the Bob Ross of manga background artists (or one of his assistants is).
Which makes sense since he just recently pulled out Caliburn. He was just a squire at that point.
Gives off a nice, calm vibe.
Sonic and The Black Knight. Search for it. It's a video game.
So, Elizabeth x Arthur, with Mel dying the hero's death?
Oh, I see. Thank you.
So why doesn't Gowther have his Sacred Treasure?
Traded it for sexual favors.
Do we still think the orgy armor runs on sex magic?
he's really the traitor
He's too autistic to be a traitor.
Poor Hauser. All that motivation and his waifu isn't even on the battlefield to kick the shit out of him.
It's in his pants.
Don't sexualize my husbando you silly goatfucker.
goddamn nigga. I never heard of this. Gonna give this a read on my days off looks good.
>Sin of Lust
>not already sexualized
Any theories on this?
And what happened to Harlequin's dog?
Just like how Meliodas is a walking incarnation of fury and King is a lazy fucker right?
Meliodas is full of fury and King is a lazy fucker.
>King is a lazy fucker
Well he is....
That actually describes them quite well.
Ban is also a greedy fuck.
Being tired is like the complete opposite of Sloth.
Why I'm seeing sharingan in Arthur's eyes?
He is always tried.
You could also argue him not using his full power fits his Sloth title.
His sacred treasure is a pillow for fucks sake.
Merlin brainwashed him so he tries to conquer Liones.
Meh, the entire point of Sins are that they don't actually represent their sin very well. Ban didn't steal the Fountain of Youth in the end, King is is essentially the most proactive member of the group, Gowther is pretty emotionless and Meliodas was tranquil even when he turned demon.
The odd one out is Diane, but most of the time their Sin comes from a misunderstanding or something superficial. King's Sloth was from abandoning his duty, but he did so to serve the King, while Ban actually got captured on purpose since he didn't have any desires, despite being called greedy. Meliodas was also blamed for the destruction of his homeland by falling into rage, but it's implied that it happened because of his demonic nature.
The Sins are definitely not as clear cut out as some people interpret them as.
Probably because long-term exposure to Kishimoto's hack writing has damaged some of your reasoning functions (see a doctor about this) and maybe the smoothing filter fucking with the source. Here's how the tankobon version of >>100957065 looks. Note all the added detail with the night sky or the mystery knights in the lower left.
What. Did they just blur everything and called it cleaning?
Maybe it's really small?
well, it's from a magazine scan, so the raw was probably a lot worse
Anyone thinking those knights on the lower left could be future members of Arthur's round table? If they haven't already been recruited at this point, that is.
Yeah, to be fair, most of the other cleaned pages look better, but this was a particularly bad case.
Oh well, that's nice to hear.
I nearly got angry for a moment there.
Could be. They seems to be important enough to appear on that "historic moment" page and haven't been shown as part of Lyoness yet, so chances are they're part of a, at that point, unknown faction, e.g. Camelot.
BTW lots of fun ahead. We haven't even seen the giant clan (as a faction) or goddess clan yet and the demons are about to get busy as well. Things will get busy.
is diane a exile of her clan or something?
Melodias is full of suppressed rage. It's pretty clear that his affable nature is simply a way to keep that below the surface. Whenever it surfaces, he harms those that he cares about. That's his Sin.
And King is lazy. Remember that it was his duty to guard the forest, but he ran away from that. As a result, his sister was killed. That's his Sin.
Gowther probably fell in love with someone he shouldn't have.
>Gowther probably fell in love with someone he shouldn't have.
Just why must pedophilia be forbidden?
>Gowther is full of suppressed lust
>literally turns into a rape machine when provoked
>his armor was used to seal him in when it happens
IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN
There's seems to be "history" behind her Matrona moniker she used during the tournament and she's been wandering the human world, even though she dislikes being bigger than everyone else. Wouldn't be surprised if she's an exile or a runaway.
Make it happen, Nakaba.
Interesting to see where this goes.
Also gotta find out what happened to Griamor and Veronica.
I can't describe how good it feels to have a mangaka go into a story with a grand vision and apparently getting away with it. Every chapter screams "and things are going to get bigger".
Veronica is dead.
Griamor went to bury her corpse and has gone underground. Will probably show up again as an ally to the Sins. That or, if Arthur turns out to be a good guy, as a part of his round table.
I already like Arthur and how he managed to step on Hendricksen's toes during the conversation. If that really is Merlin by his side, then she probably has told him that something is amiss in that kingdom.
>The last one seems pretty evil though, I mean she used Ban's blood as lipstick
I bet she's gonna lust for Ban's dick eventually.
Will be interesting to see how their upcoming encounter will go. Last time he jobbed to her thanks to her being able to counter his regeneration. OTOH, he seems to be pretty motivated this time thanks to the demon resurrection thing.
Chapterly reminder that Diane is love, Diane is life.
The artist is pretty good at armor designs.
It seems he works alone, no assistants, just his wife helping him occasionally.
He's pretty good at everything, if you ask me. and he does great backgrounds and rich props too, something kinda rare today
He's living the dream.
I like the guy as much as the next, but we shouldn't kid ourselves.
He clearly got kubo to help him out with that background.
That's pretty impressive then, considering how many "extra length" chapters, color pages and whatnot he has done in the past year. You can practically feel how this series is his attempt to aim at the top. I also think I've read some anon mentioning that he always wanted to do a proper fantasy manga, so there's also some added effort from that, probably.
I hope Kodansha doesn't fuck things up, once it comes to picking a suitable studio to do an anime adaption.
It's for emphasis you idiot. Kubo did not fucking invent blank backgrounds and he can clearly do them perfectly well when the scenes call for it. See >>100960141
The statement "Diane is a miracle of the universe." and a picture of her drew me in on this manga.
I thought Elizabeths reaction looked nice here >>100955886
so I made this.
Elizabeth is 2cute5me
Ban look better with the beard.
They're both fucking adorable.
Why is King touching his butt
He's a lewd motherfucker and ban gives him a hard on.
Wait , why would his beard grow on top of his scar?
one would assume its a magic beard fueled by the well of eternal life . Plus its been bless by fairies
He actually has no assistants. He and his wife do everything themselves.
How does his hair even grow when he's unageing?
Do they mean Lyonesse?
The only bad thing about this manga is it makes me want more and more every single chapter. I can't stand waiting on all these questions to get answered. I need to wait like a year and then read a bunch in one go or something
You know upon second look.
That Excalibur is fucking huge.
I mean look at it, it's bigger than him I think
I would like it better if it wasn't obvious that Diane isn't going with them because she is currently too OP and thus they're saving them to save the day near the end of the arc.
>they're saving her
How would she go with them? She can't exactly throw herself.
She is running towards the castle and won't arrive until the writer needs her. Like Goku running through the dragon path.
Serious question.... why doesn't Diane throw King?
It's not like he missed the chance... she can throw him in 5 seconds.
They might him against Arthur.
King is frail like baby, he'd probably break from being thrown before he even leaves her hand.
Because it's a magic undead beard. It ain't gotta explain shit. Don't sweat the details, Frodo.
Check the title page in >>100955373. Below Gilbuttmad it's spelled Liones, so I guess that's the official spelling.
It just occurred to me that Suzuki draws pretty cool hair.
From what I gathered from the exchange in chapter 61, King simply didn't want to travel in that manner. Despite his strength when going all out, he's pretty much the scaredy cat of the group and not quite as sturdy as Ban or Mel.
I wonder if the author will run out of armor designs at some point. Holy fuck he draws a lot of those.
Oh shit, what if Caliburn is Melodias's sacred relic?
You can really see the Toriyama influence in Suzuki's art. Not that I mind.
Although he has a minor case of sameface.
Well, he won't suddenly start drawing everyone naked.
The beard was long enough that the hair above the scar would cover the bald spot.
Screenshoted, so I can point and laugh when they're all dick fencing stark naked, 2 years down the road.
Have you ever been hit in the face with a goddamn full sized pig?
Goddamn, shit's gotta hurt.
This guy will turn out to be related to Meliodas, won't he?
They look too alike not to be.
Is there anyone named meliodas in Arthurian mythology?
Meliodas is the father of Tristan, one of the Knights of the Round Table.
What if the army is actually real and the spell is a teleport spell?
Poor guard, he's gonna be "that guy" who got taken down by a pig and a princess.
5$ says thats melodis's sword arthurs got
Relax. Historians can't even agree if the two swords were actually separate or just two translations of the same one.
Bitching about mythological canon is silly.
Why would the lady of the lake give him the sword he already pulled out?
Gilthunder is a evil faggot, but Hauser might become a bro the rest i cant say.
His first oneshot was about a blond kid fighting a dragon with a magical sword, and that was published in 98.
Also his first series, Rising Impact (a sports manga about golf), had a lot of ilustrations of the characters wearing medieval armor. It really looke like he was building experinece so Nanatsu would be good.
His martial arts manga was pretty decent, too. Pity it fizzled out.
The Double Arts/Nisekoi mangaka should have followed his example. First do random stuff to get popular and a reputation so you don't get cancelled immediately and only then start on your dream project. Bonus points if you stay away from Jump and their cut throat ranking system.
Um, the Gold manga from nakaba was in WSJ.
My point is, if you're doing a pet project that you don't want cancelled because you've been dying for years to put it into ink, then you should stay away from doing it in Jump, because chances are you'll be cancelled sooner rather than later. That's ok, if you're just trying out random ideas, but not for something you want to see finished.
Thankfully it seems to of payed off since nanatsu is a huge hit in Japan. Currently it sales on par with fairy tail the magazines flagship title.
Going by >>100974587 I'd say never. That's some dedication right there, Suzuki.
Not a bad chapter.
I want to fuck Geera and Jericho.
Dat cleavage armor. Ban did good when he awakened her to womanhood.
I miss Geera's first outfit.
They'd probably rotoscope models of them
Or CGI amor. I shudder just thinking about it.
And the magazine still makes him do all those colour spreads, double issues and shit? Hopefully they guy is a quick artist.
But yeah, couldn't see him using assistants, the backgrounds are too distinctive and syalised to realistically be helped with.
You can't escape the future.
Went to a farm that had a fucking huge sow. Was almost bear sized.
Most pigs are killed young so people don't realise how fucking huge some breeds can get.
When NnT gets an anime, it'll become fucking huge.
Nothing wrong with Rotoscoping CG so long as you don't take liberties and use it to enable sweeping, turning shots.
Even Akira with it's god tier animation and attention to detail used rotoscoping for a bunch of things.
Does Arthur's hooded pal actually have the strength of an army? After all they sensed the army's aura.
>That's King Sin
WRONG. HE DID NOT KNOW ABOUT HIS SITER NOR HIS KINGDOM BEING BURNT. YET HE WAS A SIN.
THERE IS MORE TO KING.
They've learnt how to fake their power le... auras
Arthur is going to completely roll Meliodas.
I'm pretty sure his sin will tie in with Helbram in some way. King seems to feel guilty about something involving him.
Jericho is fuggin hot
She's no Diane though
I bet Helbram is a cute fairy shota too.
Actually I don't remember what was said about the other fairies. They are still alive or?
King is not physically strong like Meliodas, Ban, and Gowther (who we saw could chop of heads and survive getting crushed by Diane and no worse for the wear).
She still wears it. Like back from when she and Jericho were just chilling with Helbram in the Armored Giant arc. It's her casual clothes.
