>he never came back to save us
What the fuck, Kyon?
Where the hell is season 3? The film left it at the perfect place and alluded to so much more yet to happen. Surely Hirano's scandal can't be that big of a deal.
It's because Tanigawa has writer's block
No. He's just lazy.
From what I understand there is plenty of material to do a full season 3. Also, has there been any more word on that Disappearance of Nagato Yuki spinoff?
There are loads of LNs left to translate.
But no new ones coming out, so the need to push new books is gone.
The Haruhi doesn't need to push anything. The anime makes truckloads of dosh, even Endless Eight sold pretty well, certainly a lot better than some of Kyo Ani's other works.
That's not the way it fucking works though.
Anime is used to sell the books.
No books=No anime
no matter how popular something is kadokawa will throw it to the wayside for whatever's "in" at the moment. no exceptions.
the quickbuck wins in an industry that is fickle and disposable as the anime/manga/ln industry is.
There is easily enough material for a 26-episode season and a movie trilogy but they won't fucking do it until they have a reason to. Like, say, more novels coming out to promote. Unfortunately the last one came out in like 2011 or something.
There is a slim slim chance that if Yuki-chan sells well they might pick up Haruhi again but don't hold your breath. I hear the source manga sucks

It seems Japan is more interested in moe characterization then actual story and plot.
>what a surprise.
Yuki manga isn't remotely good as far as the franchise is concerned but is popular enough to get an anime.
Rumor was that until the author and Kadokawa work out their differences there won't be another LN or any continuation of Haruhi.
>Rumor was that until the author and Kadokawa work out their differences there won't be another LN or any continuation of Haruhi.
To be fair, if you are a publisher and one of your deadbeat authors haven't been writing anything for two years, why would you spend money on him? You don't want to reward bad behaviour; prolific authors are the ones Kadokawa want to encourage.
What do you mean? They have up to The Surprise in english.
>writing for studio that bring us endless eight
i am sure those season bring HUGE damage to haruhi franchise, not even a follow up movie can save it.
On the bright side, when he finally did get off his ass and write something, it set all sorts of sales records. As long as Haruhi is popular, there's always hope for more.
A follow-up movie DID save it, though. Not to mention novels came out after EE.
Read the novels, OP. You can google search to read them online or if you're not a gigantic scrublord you can order all of them off of Amazon for under $8 a book. The translations are spot-on.
Why would they need anime to promote their novel when it still breaks records? Kadokawa's revenue from the anime is minimal because KyoAni gets the lion's share and retailers get a cut too. They could okay it, but the profit is marginal if it isn't going to result in more novel sales.
Is there a better fan translation of the latest Haruhi LN?
The first one that came out was fucking atrocious.
No. Your best bet would be someone scanning it.
He probably meant "There are loads of LNs left to adopt". I really want them to animate Surprise especially the university and the bedroom scene.
Added to the list of obstacles is also KyoAni's apparently reluctance on adapting titles not in their full control.
there is a heaps of material and there is a demand. just fucking make a 3rd season and second movie
